This is a review for the MAC counter in Macy's @ Oakridge Mall. I have to agree with the plethora of other views regarding this counter, and MAC in general. Their customer service is awful, and if their cosmetics weren't so good, I'd choose another brand. I came here on a Thursday evening to pick up an eyeliner, usually when the mall is pretty quiet and empty. When I approached the MAC counter, there were 3 sales associates, all of them applying make up to girls, with fake Michael Kors bags, probably not planning to buy anything. I stood at the counter, waiting for someone to acknowledge my presence. Mind you, this is a small counter, it's really not hard to notice someone standing 5.5 inches away from you. One of the sales associates had to stop painting the girl's face to grab a product, which means she had to cross the cash register I was standing at. As she walked across the counter, she completely avoided eye contact with me, and walked back and forth, without saying a single WORD to me. After realizing no one was planning to stop to say "Hello, one moment, we'll be right with you" , I said outloud "I just need to buy something quickly, can someone just ring me up?" One of them glanced up and said "Ok, one second", and continued to apply make up. I must've waited for at least 8 minutes before one of them took a break to grab my eyeliner and ring it up, which took all of 45 seconds. If there was another MAC counter at this mall, I would've gone to that. 2 stars for the "Make up artists" at MAC in Macy's. Check your attitudes. read more

Poor customer service. Bad communication. I tried to be mindful of their time and my me so I made a point to call in to check their availability. They said come in and we can help you. I came in, I had one of the workers to check and they said they would come out in 10 mins. Checked in again and they were all booked with appointments. So you made me wait knowing full well you had an appointment. To top it off, no one was available. Mac you need to reevaluate your service. It will be your downfall. read more

I usually go to the actual MAC store for all my products and only go to the counter when I am in need of more Studio Fix or Lingering eye brow pencil. The girls who work here at this counter are pretty rude, especially if you come in sans makeup. I usually just get my stuff and go, but for someone who has never tried MAC before might expect a little better service. read more

The artist here are skilled, friendly and know what they are doing! Came to get my makeup done for a wedding and Leo did my makeup and let me tell you he did an amazing job, my boyfriend loved the markup and he doesn't like when I wear to much makeup because I usually do natural looks, but this was a wedding so we wanted to be fabulous, and so Leo knows his work! Iv been to two other MAC places and this place was the best makeup I have ever got done. The ladies I brought with me too loved their make up and it lasted all night long and unlike the other times we got it done, the makeup was noticeable on our pictures and it still looked very light and neutral. MAC Oakridge is okay... There are a couple girls who act like they are all that, but fortunately for moi, I've been helped by the nice ones, lol. My aunt though, was not soo lucky. So I'm giving this place a 3 star, pretty generous actually. My aunt was helped by this one white chick with a nose piercing that is such a biotch! I didn't get her name, but it was not like she was stuck up, she just had a bad mouth and attitude. Anytime my aunt and I asked her a question, she seemed annoyed and she was not friendly. She doesn't smile and she rolled her eyes at me, like wtf kind of make up artist or customer service is that?! MAC usually has pretty helpful artists in general, but this was the first time we had a horrible experience! The only reason why I still come here is because its near work and I can use my Macy's card, lol. And the MAC manager is verrrrry helpful and sweet, her name is Helen. Anytime I go there now, just to save me the hassle, I just ask for Helen and she knows her stuff and is always a BETTER experience than the other girls... esp. better than that one white chick with the nose piercing, hahahahaa! Today was my third visit to this new location at Oakridge, the last two times were equally as horrible. Strike 1- The first time I came to this new location I was so excited because at the Macys Mac I always feel like the girls are understaffed and usually overwhelmed, which is not their fault, lots of foot traffic in Macys. I walked in knowing I needed one "Saddle" eye shadow, thats it, there were 2 blonde girls working who looked like they could have been each other dopplegangers. Neither one greeted me, one of them was helping somoene and the other one was behind the counter, I told her what I needed, she looked like she was possibly working on something, and then said "one moment" went into the back. I assumed she was getting my eyeshadow. She NEVER came back. I must have waited almost 10 minutes for an eyeshadow just standing in front of the register, before the other girl finally helped me. Strike 2- Came in to buy a Lingering Brow Liner, same 2 girls working -________-. One was helping someone at the front of the line, the other one helping 2 customers (understandably busy to be fair). The customer in front of me in line was done being rung up and the blonde girl literally walked away. WALKED AWAY. did not say "just one moment please" or even acknowledge me, she just walked into the back room. It was about 2-3 minutes until the girl helped 2 customers said to me, someone will be with you in a minute. Then the blonde girl walked out of the break room and right past me and helped a NEW CUSTOMER who had just walked in. I was debating on saying something, but clearly she was stupid and it wouldnt have mattered. Then a third girl, brunette with longer hair walked out of the back room and into the front and started helping someone. So here I as for almost 10 minutes, humiliated and waiting AGAIN for someone to help me. Finally I interrupted the blonde girl who ignored me and went to the back and I said "HI, IVE BEEN WAITING ALMOST 10 MINUTES, I ONLY NEED TO BUY A LINGERING AND THEN I HAVE TO GET TO WORK" she literally responds, "someone will be with you in a minute", about a minute later the brunette girl rang me up and i bolted out of there swearing to myself i would NOT BE BACK. stupid me, went in again today and it was practically empty. I dont know what it is about this location that its empty, probably the shitty customer service. I was in a rush and told the girl working I was in a rush when she asked for my information when i was buying a brow pencil. I asked her if I had to give my information or if I could just buy the item, she seemed instantly irritated and slightly slammed the pencil down on the counter when giving it to me. It was uncomfortable. I WILL STICK TO NORDSTROM AND PROBABLY LOOK FOR A DIFFERENT BROW BRAND LIKE URBAN OR BENEFIT. read more

Horrible customer service. Today I went in to buy a lipstick and lip liner. I had the lipstick color that I wanted and the worker picked up the lipstick and put it back down. I thought she remembered the color name and was going to get it. 10 minutes later.... I see her doing someone's makeup. No one else was willing to help. read more

I had my makeup done by Alyssa on the day of my sister's wedding. She did an amazing job. I have had my makeup done at MAC in San Francisco, San Jose at Valley Fair and now at Oakridge mall in Macy's. I have never been disappointed. Alyssa was very friendly and is an amazing artist. I came here last minute for my daughters Prom Make up April 18th.. I called in and Spoke with Krystal (store Manager) who was very friendly and she did say they were completely booked, But unlike the other 3 MAC stores I called previously, she told me to come in and do a standby and they would try their best to get me in. Well I did go in and although I was stressed and felt like I kept asking on update for standby, Krystal made me feel at ease and was very Professional at all times. I have to say I was very Impressed with Krystal as she took care of my daughter and had Jessica do her Makeup which came out Great! Jessica was very easy to work with and I would definitely come here again to get make up done and for shopping. Thank you Krystal and Jessica for making this Happen! I have gotten my make up done here several times and I have never had a bad experience. The girls are ALWAYS more then nice. I don't come here to just buy make up, I usually come when I go to a special event because I have no clue how to put on make up. So what I usually do is call and make an appointment. Then can fill up so be sure to call a few weeks a head of time. And they let you know that you have to spend $50 worth of product. I do not see this as a big issue. Basically they are doing your make up for free and you get $50 worth of stuff. Maybe I am a much more go with the flow kinda girl, or it's because I have no clue what I'm doing or maybe I'm just nice and not so snooty, but I think the girls working here are nice, never rude. Never had a problem. They do good make up and I will for sure keep coming back! read more

I went to Oakridge today not for Mac, but for Bobbi Brown. I love their skin care line. But anyways, back to the Mac story...so, after I buy my BB items, I decide that I'd walk over to the Mac counter to check out the new collection that just came out. One of the MUA's comes over to ask if I need any help. I tell her that I'm just looking and then I ask her if my foundation color matches my skin. She gave me her advice. Then I walk away trying to find that new collection that just came out with the lipsticks and Dazzleglasses. So, I walk from one end of the counter back down to the other end. Another MUA asks me if I need help, so I ask her where's the new collection that just came out with the Dazzleglasses and she says, "They're right there." I look over and it's the Double Dazzleglass collection. So, if you're a MAC follower, you'll know that the Double D collection came out months ago and that the new collection with Dazzleglasses is the Euristocrats II collections. At the moment, I couldn't think of the Euristocrats collection name and I tell her that the new collection is online and I thought it was in store on July 2nd. But again she tells me that they didn't get any new collections in and that the next collection would be next week which doesn't have any Dazzleglasses in them, just regular lip glosses. I knew she was talking about the Colour Craft collection. But I walked away thinking in my head cause I didn't want to be rude to her and say it aloud, "Aren't you suppose to know what collecctions are out cause you're a MAC makeup artist?!?" And this whole situation just reminded me why I don't come to this MAC counter to purchase anything, even though I really want it. It's cause their service sucks and their MUA's suck big time too! After I wrote my first review, I went back a few times and never got the same service that I did with that first review. The first MUA that helped me in my first review was awesome, but every one after that SUCKED! Their customer service sucks. Aren't you suppose to want to sell me things?? That's your job, right?? Well, I guess they don't want to, cause most of them just stand around talking to eachother. And you can tell that they are talking about you cause you (well, atleast for me) can see them from the corner of my eye glancing over at me and when you look over, you catch their stare and for sure you know something was said about you. Ladies, am I right or what? If you want better customer service from professional, polite, and mature MAC MUA's, then definitely go to the Eastridge MAC counter. They are 10x better, no, a 100x better than Oakridge's MAC MUA's. And the Eastridge MAC MUA's got their MAC collection knowledge down too. read more

I came to this location after finding out that the Valley Fair location would be out of the soft ocher paint pot for about 3 weeks and this place was currently in stock. I went right after work. They had the product in stock but the reasoning of my 3-Star rating is because the lady I was dealing with seemed quite awkward? I do not know if it was me personally or she was having a bad day.. but she gave me zero emotion (blank stare) and no customer service attitude. It was a straight " What do you need?" got the product, not a single word spoken, and rang me up. Not even a departing farewell.. I was the one that needed to say "thanks, have a good day" lol maybe I am asking for too much or maybe it was my lack of proper makeup? I work at a construction company and wear a bare face all week, some places seem to "discriminate" if you walk into their grounds with a naked face assuming you lack knowledge but I am not going to judge, maybe she was having a bad day but it was noticeably awkward. 3 Stars because this was my first time to this location, we'll see happens on my next trip :) read more

I've been here three times and now refuse to go back. The customer service is terrible, particularly from one girl. Every time they are out of a product I'm looking for, she constantly tries to convince me to buy an alternative by implying that what I came in for is not a good product. I understand it's her job to upsell, but I don't appreciate her condescending tone when I am looking for a certain shade of lipstick or a lip pencil. I'm almost too intimidated to walk in here sometimes because they work on commission so they don't leave you alone. I guess you'd consider that good customer service, but I can live without the stalking. Sometimes I go in just to see whats new and I want to touch and feel stuff to learn more about textures and pigments and how they work on your skin. I give it a 3 for the large spread of makeup but take two away for snobbiness. read more

I have been to this MAC store couple of times. It's extremely crowded most of the times. On one of my visits, I wanted to try MAC foundations and compact, since I was using other brands. A lady(I forgot her name) was very friendly and patient. She did complete make up on my face starting with primer, foundation, concealer, compact, eye liner and setting spray and I was recommended to buy all! I bought only 3 products among all and ended up spending 100$! When I started using compact from next week, I realized the compact powder given to me was darker than my skin tone. It was just looking awful. I was so disappointed. How can the professionals go wrong in selecting shades based on the skin color?? And she recommended me MAC oil control lotion since I have extremely oily skin. That product also never worked for me. Waste of 75$ for these 2 products! I don't think I will visit here again. read more

I was at the store today and I was the only customer in there and was not greeted , asked if I needed help or thanked after my purchase. Just because I don't walk in with a cake face doesn't mean my purchase is less important than anyone's else's. Treat your customers right and quit having a chip on your shoulder. read more

So disappointed in my experience at this MAC location. I love the brand itself but customer service at this location is severely lacking. I came in after purchasing a bunch of items online. I believe it was a 25% off promotion. I ended up keeping most of what I ordered except a blush that just wasn't the color I was expecting. Since I love MAC blushes, silly me figured I could just come into a MAC store and exchange for a different color, as that's what 99.9% of stores allow (same exact product but different color). Anyway, before I even did the exchange, I spent time in the store and found more things I liked. I planned to do the even exchange and then buy the other items full price when I was ready to leave. When I got to the register, the cashier informs me that she's going to refund me for the blush I ordered online (which was 25% off), then charge me full price for the SAME EXACT Mineralize blush of a different color. So basically I was charged for exchanging for the SAME product. While I understand that I got the original product on sale, there is no reason for me to pay extra unless the product I was exchanging for cost more than the original. I managed a retail store in the past, and I never charged someone extra for exchanging a top for a different size or a different color if it was the same style, regardless of whether it was on sale at one time. Mind you, the difference in price here wasn't astronomical; it's the principle. Very tacky in my opinion, especially as I was purchasing other items on top of it and they were going to make money off me anyway. When I asked about this discrepancy, the cashier merely said " it's company policy". The manager happened to be nearby and echoed the same thing "yeah, it's policy". Good to know. In the future, I will only purchase online with MAC if it's a color I know for 100% certainty I like, or I will purchase my MAC products at Nordstrom or ULTA. Their costumer service sucks, I came in one day looking for some highlighter no one asked if I needed help they all just walk around so I finally asked if she could get me what I needed I waited for 15 min and she still hadn't come back with what I asked for instead she was bouncing around from one person to another, I ended up getting frustrated and walking out because it shouldn't take that long. Oakridge is absolutely disgusting, but I found my coveted Lavendar Whip lipstick here and the salespeople at this counter were very sweet.

Nobody is ever able to skin tone match me and Krystal was more than happy to take the time to find my right shade in the studio fix liquid and did an amazing job to find a few other products which would compliment the product. She is amazing at what she does and is an asset to this company. Thanks girl, I'll be back to see you for more recommendations:) read more

Stopped by yesterday to check out a blush that I've been in love with online, and get matched for foundation since it's been years since I've gotten skn products from Mac. The staff was very friendly and quick to offer assistance. The girl helping me also seemed to know what she was doing. However, when the time came to purchase my new concealer she gave me a full 3 shades darker for some unknown reason. I didn't notice until I was almost home, and by then there was no way I was driving back to Oakridge and trying to find parking to exchange something on President's Day. Nope. Lost a star due to making more work for me. read more

Thisis the first time I have been to this MAC store. I came from the airport and decided to buy my eyeliner and blush. Most of the store testers are missing. Very few lipsticks to try on and a lot of them are broken! Also all 3 girls were not busy but they acted like I was bothering them. I can see why they have bad customer service reviews. Came in looking for a new foundation, my friend recommended I go here since she has about the same skin type as me(oily-combo). I walked in and was greeted by the supervisor, I forgot her name sorry. But when I told her what type of foundation I was looking for (not too matte) she sort of rolled her eyes and didn't seem as if she wanted to help me anymore. She recommended a few things and even had me try on a few of the products(primer, foundation, powder). She wasn't really informative on any of the products I had to keep asking if it was good for really oily or dry skin, at the end of it all I was not too happy, after awhile my oil just came seeping out like crazy. read more

I've been coming here forever everyone has been really sweet and helpful except one chick that's there she wears glasses and says she's been there forever, but my experience will not be ruined by her! They always offer if you want to try anything on and sometimes will apply it for you I LOVE THAT! Black Track is my favorite! Studio Fix is my favorite! About a month ago I went into the store to pick I up some product before my trip to Florida. I waked around for awhile without anyone acknowledging my presence and right when I was was going to leave (very frustrated) Nydia came to save the day. She was my saving grace. She apologized and encouraged me to stay. Not only did she pay close attention to what I wanted, she also applied applied the make up for me which is really rare at MAC now a days. So I've been shopping at MAC for a while and the only reason I am giving this place 4 stars is the product they sell there. The customer service sucks,so if you don't know what you want and have questions your SOL.I did have my makeup done here for my best friend's wedding and if there is one thing they are good at, it's doing makeup.I told the girl who did it, can't remember her name, but she was great, i wanted a smokey eye with browns and golds and she did that and more, my makeup looked AMAZING and it stayed that way for the whole night. Also, gotta give it up for their false eyelashes they last and are reusable, so they are worth the 10 or so dollars you pay for them. So overall, come here if you know what you want, or to get your makeup done, but if you need your makeup done, call about 2 weeks in advance to schedule an appt, they get really booked. read more
