Extremely rude and unprofessional. Let me remind these lovely mac employees that you have a job because you have customers who come in to purchase items. Your attitude is pathetic!! The people that work at this store are so deluded it's hilarious. After significant reflection, I really can't find a reason for their overconfidence. They work at a makeup store but prance around like they've found the New World. Maybe they're overcompensating for their lack of success? Instead of accepting the reality of their situations, they spend the day gossiping and actively refusing to do their job. They behave as if their store doesn't need your money. I don't feel like corporate ever really took the time to train them about the purpose of a business. (Hint: Honey, it's all about the sale.) Additionally, they act as if they're better than you. The employees are so "busy," yet they do nothing. If you want to watch a complex dance that involves employees doing everything they can to avoid work while simultaneously insulting their clients, you have come to the right place. I have been to both the MAC Counter at Nordie's and the MAC store just outside of Nordie's at the Cerritos Mall. My first comment is about the Nordstrom MAC counter. The girl that helped me there is named Chanelle. OMG. She was the nicest, most unpretentious young woman I could have hoped for at the counter. She gave me a quick demonstration, took the time to write down the items she used and their prices, gave me her particular hours so I could go back and purchase the items when I was ready and with a $50 min. she would do my make-up the same day. They offer that anyway with a min purchase but she was very nice all the same. I have also been to the MAC store a few times within the previous month prior to the Nordie's counter. Though I do agree that the customer service skills needs some pointers, my overall experience was good. The first time i went to this store, I was very pleased. It was busy but a nice girl offered assistance. She too gave me a demo and listed her suggestions with prices. She listened to my concerns regarding what I considered problematic about my skin. She quickly came up with a combination of items that allowed me to leave the store with my head held high. I was very happy because she was very nice but I just don't remember her name, I wish I did. Another time shortly after I went in she wasn't there and the ones who were, were a little less friendly, slightly aloof. Another time, I was just seemingly ignored. I left. finally the last time I went in, I did wait several minutes but it did seem that they were busy trying to help other clients, one finally offered help and she took time and was very helpful to me and explained the answers to some questions I had. She also brought out her manager, Raul. He was actually very helpful, honest and spent a few minutes with me as well. I walked out feeling relieved and respected. I just want MAC cosmetics to know, that not every woman who goes into the store either is or looks like a model, neither has nor wants to spend a lot of money at one time, but the type of customer service you give even to the homeliest of women, or the smallest of purchases will determine the type and amount of business you continue to receive, the reputation you build that precedes your success as a business and ultimately the amount of investment a woman will be willing to make in her own appearance and in your product to help her with her appearance. read more

I am fairly a new customer of MAC cosmetics, and I have to say some of the customer service encounters I've had in-store have been terrible! About couple weeks ago, I went into this and bought the 'chili' lipstick, along with some eye shadows and setting spray. I came home and opened the lipstick and realized that it was empty. Only the casing was inside the box. NOT the actual lipstick. What? So I called the store before I can go in and get a new one. When I called, the person on the phone talked to me in a very condescending tone, as if I was lying to get a free lipstick. But I kept being assertive and she told me bring it in and she'll change it for me. Going into the store to just change the lipstick took so much of my time and effort, because I don't live that close to the mall in the first place. Once I got into the store, I gave my name and the person at the register just hands me a bag that has the lipstick in it. Not a single apology or smile. Was it MY fault that the lipstick was only the casing? Yesterday, I went into the store to get some christmas gifts for my friends around 5pm. After waiting for some minutes for someone to help me, I had to call someone that came by where the eye shadows were, because no one approached me for the entire time I was waiting. I get that the store was busy. But how is it that the people that came into the store after me were approached before me? The girl that helped me had brown skin and black, curled hair. There were two girls that fit the description in the store at that time, but this one had shorter hair and wore high platform heels. When I stopped her with a polite 'excuse me' and asked her if I can get some help when she had the time, she literally SIGHED and said 'okay'. I told her I'm getting some blush for two of my friends and was wondering if she can make some suggestions. Before I can even describe my friends to her or show her pictures of their skin color, she IMMEDIATELY cuts me off and gives me attitude. She told me that because they're not there with me presently, she can't try the blush on their skin. She said it's not like she can try the blush on my face or her face, so she can't make any suggestions. WHAT? The whole POINT of buying GIFTS is that they don't know what the gifts are. So I'm supposed to bring my friends and make them choose their christmas gifts and buy the blush WITH them? At this point, I was just SO ANNOYED and pissed off. I still went on to describe their skin color to her, because I NEEDED to buy the presents. She took not even 3 seconds to just randomly pick two blushes. Is this the kind of customer service MAC cosmetics promotes? The only reason I go into the shops rather than shopping online is to try on the products and ask for suggestions. Which CLEARLY is not an option for the MAC store in Cerritos mall anyways. I've been to countless number of cosmetics stores, and this store BY FAR, is the WORST. Maybe I should start going to the MAC counter inside Nordstrom in the same mall. I will NOT be recommending this store to my friends EVER! Do yourself the favor and go to Sephora or the MAC counter inside Nordstrom! read more

This store on a weekend is a zoo! I walk in and can barely breathe due to the amount of people hustling and busting about in this fairly large space. And I actually feel bad for the artists at this store. If i were them, I'd hit the bottle hard after I got off a long day at work. The customer service is always on point here, and even though I always get stuck waiting for an artist to help me, I appreciate that they acknowledge me, sincerely thank me for being so patient and waiting, and always follow up with me on when an artist will be with me. I came in here the other day because I wanted to try a new foundation. I crossed my fingers that I picked a time when it wouldn't be bombarded with women, and that I would have a chance to actually try on some of the products. Well, to my dismay, the store was crowded- especially for a Sunday! I was greeted upon entering, and was told that an artist would be with me shortly, and to check out the new Disney Villain collection while I was waiting. Well, it was pointless even glancing at the collection, because most of it was missing, or sold out! A few minutes passed by, and as I cluelessly perused the shadows, an artist approached me, and thanked me for baring with them, and proceeded to ask me what I needed help with. I've noticed this girl the few times I've been in this store before because she sticks out like a sore thumb amongst all the Cerritos/Long Beach natives. She is quite lovely- pale, very thin, short blonde hair, heavily tattooed. And what I love most is that her make-up was very pretty and natural- not the "clown-face" (sorry MAC girls, but you know it's true!). Her name is Devon. Ask for her when you're there and trust me, you will be in very good hands. To quickly summarize why I freaking love this girl: - She asked me a lot of questions, ranging from what kind of skin I had, to what exactly I wanted my make-up to look like. And most importantly, she listened to me and what exactly I wanted, and did not want. - She broke everything down for me, and explained what I was getting, why I was getting it, and how to use it. She also really helped me understand my skin type (super oily and dry), and what I can do to balance out and take care of my skin. And hot damn, does this girl know a lot about skin care! - She wasn't fake. She kept it real with me, and didn't pressure me to buy. I often feel like a "sale" at MAC counters, but not as this store. - She taught me how to use all of my products. As much as I would love to take her home with me and have her do my make-up every morning, that's just not possible. She also showed me different products and colors, and gave me very helpful tips on how to take my make-up from day to night with just five extra minutes and a couple of products. - She made me feel like a more beautiful version of myself! =-) I left this store ($200+ poorer) feeling so good about myself, and in the products I bought. And I am still so pleased with my purchases 5 days later! Thank you Devon and the MAC store in Cerritos for always taking good care of your customers! You can bet my now fine and make-up savvy ass that I will only be going to this store for all of my make-up investments. read more

I know that the reviews here are awful for this MAC store; however, MAC is known for the lack of Customer service. Nordstroms is known for their awesome customer service. I just come in to get what I need and get out. Just know beauty hurts. I must say the bald guy that works there is really helpful and does an awesome job with makeup. This Mac store was just a plain disappointment, I went for lipstick and I was ready to get the lipstick, there was at least 10 people working no one helped me, I went to a guy and in the rudest tone he said "can't you see I'm helping someone" I was so upset, then I asked a lady for a lipstick she went to the back came out and just talked to someone else she never gave me the lipstick. I'm not really a big fan of MAC cosmetics... but I decided to give one of their products a try so I quickly dropped by inside their store to grab what I needed at this location. Like I mentioned... I am not really a big fan of their cosmetics.. so walking in, I didn't find anything too appealing...Every single time I come into a MAC Cosmetics store just to browse around, the workers here are either... 1. too busy giving someone a makeover 2. too busy running around getting products for people 3. ignorant and just don't care. It wasn't different this time around. Workers here were ignorant and the only reason why I give this place a 3 star is because this location held the product I was looking for, and was fairly pleased with it. However...if you want good quality makeup and better informative customer service, my suggestion would be to either try Nordstrom or Sephora. They are both a little on the pricey side, but better quality, much better service is guaranteed. read more

Came in when it was slow and the girl that helped me was nice but really wasn't any help. I don't know if she was new. When I asked her questions she would just answer with yes or no answers. I wanted actual knowledge on the product. Then the lady who rung me up never said a word to me besides my total. She was to busy talking to another employee about something un work related. Let me start out by saying this review is for the MAC store, NOT the MAC counter in Nordstrom. I was in the store about 2 months before my latest experience and it was busy, of course. I stood in line and when it was my turn, I asked for 2 specific items, paid and left. When I got home, I noticed one item was wrong. I asked for strobe liquid and got strobe cream. Having a newborn at home, it's not easy to get out of the house anymore. Finally, I was able to go in to make my exchange. I also has empties I wanted to trade in for a lipstick. I got in line and an artist asked if I needed help. I said I needed to exchange something but wanted help picking out a red lipstick. She says, lipsticks are over there...pick one out and remember the name when you get to the counter. Huh? I said, I need help finding the right shade but she just walked away. Whatever. I got to the counter and Michelle was rude, right off the bat. I explained to her why I needed an exchange, she ripped the bag and receipt out of my hand. Then she told me it's been more than 30 days and it's too late to return anything. She tossed the bag back at me. So I'm stuck with something I didn't ask for? She stood there looking at me, obviously annoyed and waited for me to leave. Ok, policy is policy but did I deserve the attitude? I'm pretty sure she was the one who sold me the wrong item anyway. It's f'n moisturizer than I never opened, not even the box had been opened! I was irritated! I went over to Nordstrom so I could at least get some help with a new lipstick. Nikki greeted me and was awesome! She was such a doll and so helpful! I ended up buying all sorts of stuff too. I understand the return policy. However, I don't understand why most, not all, of the girls at the MAC store are so rude. They'd probably have more sales if they weren't such giant A-holes! I'm done using that store for good! Walked in and was not greeted by not even 1 of the 6 working there. Tried to make eye contact with one of the workers and they just looked at me and walked away. I have to give credit to these employees. Everytime I have gone in there, it is jam packed with customers. Of course you have to wait to be helped. I think everyone wants INSTANT GRATIFICATON for everything. No one has patience. If you speak up and ask for help, then guess what? You will get helped. Its not like you walk into Target and employees are jumping up your ass to help you. Come on people! I've always been helped out, always been matched with tons of products and recommendations and the girls and guys are always nice once you give them a chance to actually help you. So I walked in with t-shirt and sweat pant with sandals yes horrible and no make up there was one sales rep who approach me and I like her attitude I forgot her name but her badge id is 424575 anyways she helped me get match love it how honest she was and not pushy. So then I wonder off to see other products but then she got stuck with other customers because she was hustling understandable but the other 7 reps weren't doing anything geesh. So I went back to her and told her what I need and sometimes there was no testers but she went out her way to open new boxes for me to test. So I walked out with 450 worth of products! I got my makeup done here on 11/29/14 at 4pm for my 21st birthday. I loved it. Best make up I ever had. And all of the staff was so nice. I wish I could remember the girls name who did my make up. But she was so helpful when I was picking how I wanted my eye shadow, lipstick, and fake eyelashes. She deserved the tip I gave her. From the moment I entered the store I was greeted and welcomed, it's that first moment for me that's a make or break. I don't purchase make up on a regular basis nor do I wear it often. Steven helped me out so much from choosing the right products for skin care, and giving me information, as well as helping me out for the look I wanted. He wrote everything down for me on a paper and also explained to me in detail the steps of applying etc. I never felt rushed or pushed into what I was going to purchase it was a very relaxing positive experience. Came in today to check out their new Extra Dimension Line. Right away one of the make-up artists came up to me and was telling me about the product! I tried some of the colors and was in L-O-V-E! He was soooo nice and was like I haven't had a chance to play with the colors and my new brush and asked if he could fix me up so of course I said sure why not! OMG!!! He did my eyes and I'm so in love with the color. The people here are always nice and will try and help you out with finding the colors you need! Usually all other MAC stores are so crowded you are waiting forever just to get help but here they are properly staffed and very friendly!!! I was saddened because the color I love so much was out of stock but he did give me some sample mascara to make up for it! I will have to probably order a couple online because once they are gone they don't come back!!!! read more

I still love this shop. The people are usually fairly friendly. I wish they would staff more people when the store is busy though. I feel like they are constantly trying to help way too many people per worker vs the mac counter in Nordstrom's where they have a ridiculous amount of workers around one counter. Went in today around noon and there was no other customers in the store. SCORE! 5 Mac MUA hanging out and one stocking up the brushes near the entrance. So I walked up to her and asked if there was anyone available to do makeup (I was a walk up, no appointment). Wow did she look irritated. She said she didn't know, she will check up front. Really?!?! There's no one else in the store. Are they booked up with appointments on a Monday afternoon? Seriously, this place reminded me of a girls bathroom in high school. The "women" who work here are always gossiping about their personal issues, complaining about costumers, and each other. I recently went in there to get a consultation for my wedding day makeup. While I was in there a group of the employees were bad mouthing the MAC girls in the Nordstrom's MAC counter. The girl who was helping me was so involved in the gossip she didn't hear a word I said. I was so pissed off. Needless to say I had my makeup done at a Nordstrom's Mac counter for my wedding. I went in yesterday after my horrible experience at Apple. Makeup is like my stress reliever so i go in and i want to look at a few of their Christmas collection. Honestly i was not expecting the experience i received, it was Amazing!! I looked like sh** but i loved it. The artist that was helping me was naja (Nadia? The guy who was there with the glasses said her name so fast i didn't completely catch it) she was amazing and showed me how to not have my lipstick and lipgloss clump together and make a big sticky mess lol. Im definitely going back, she was super nice and helpful and didn't mind taking the time to do a few lip looks on me.
