It was nice to see them being patient and kind to the elderly customers who were asking A LOT of questions (and sometimes the same questions again, hehe). :) One request I have for MAC and to the manager is to please do not pressure customers to give their email address. I was asked for my email address to which I declined to offer, yet the staff member told me I MUST give my email address. I was there to just buy a single product, yet more time was focused on trying to get my email. This puts both the employee and customer in an uncomfortable and highly unnecessary situation. In the end, the staff member sensed my discomfort with providing my email so she worked out a way around it to bypass that step in the purchasing process. I appreciated her doing that. Aside from that issue, I was happy with the attentiveness of the staff members. 5 stores for the employees, and 0 stars for whoever decided paper-free receipts and demanding customers email addresses. read more

I wanted to get my makeup done last weekend so I went to Mac in Nordstrom. The workers were standing around having an in-depth conversation with each other and didn't want to attend to customers. I asked if I could have someone do my makeup and was told that they weren't taking appointments, and I was the only customer. I was willing to spend a good amount of money on product but these lazy, ignorant heffas refused to work. Don't ever come to this place because not only did I feel all 3 of them were discriminating against me but they don't give a damn about customer service. This Nordstrom location is great. It is located in the Cerritos mall and it carries some of the more high in designer stuff, not as high end as costa mesa, or Topanga but they are not far off. The employees here are always helpful. I have ben coming here for years, even before they moved next to sears. This location used to be located next to forever 21. The move they made years ago was a good idea, the store looks neat and updated. I don't come here that often anymore because I don't live in this neighborhood, but I will be back. The girls here are super friendly and highly efficient in helping you choose the perfect colors. Crystal and Alex are always my go to makeup experts. They know exactly what I like and what I'm looking for and I always leave with all that I need and sometimes a little extra, but that's just because they are always coming up with something new. God, I love the MAC counter here! Not only are the people here, friendly, and they try to help you out, they are courteous, and just over the top nice! Now, if you had read my previous post about the MAC store in Cerritos, you will know, that I absolutely despise that store. But this place, is really great! They are always willing to help you out, and they always try to be really friendly about it. If you need room, to just check out their items, you can do that, without the sales associates being overbearing, or breathing down your neck. And if you need someone to help you, you can just call them over, and they will be there in a snap! I've purchased a lot of items from this counter, and I will continue to do so! :) read more

I came here to get my makeup done for Prom. My first time getting my makeup done at this counter. Got here at 1:50 and left at 4:20. I expected to be there for only ONE HOUR, so why did it turn into nearly 3? Ruined all my plans for the night due to the time it took. Really unacceptable. I made this appointment WEEKS in advance. So here's how my day went: It was definitely a busy day and I understood that. I got seated promptly since my appointment started at 2pm. However, I didn't get a makeup artist until about 30 minutes later. The mua I got was sweet and I had some small talk with her, but she took about another 20 minutes just picking out products for my face. She didn't start on my face until about 3pm, and I was getting real impatient. So fast forward to about 3:45, I remember asking her what time she'd be done. My eyebrows and lips weren't even finished. She said 10 minutes, but it was really 30. Towards the end of this experience, many of the other mua's began to look at me and compliment my make up, but I knew that it was out of pity because I've clearly been there for so long. I even heard one of the managers there tell her to speed up the process. I could tell she started to rush on what she needed to finish on me. My friend got her makeup done here too. She got there later than I did and left before me. It's true when people say it depends which mua you get. After all this, I went home and touched up what she missed. It was kind of a hassle because I was already running late. Waste of my time and $50. My mom was pissed as well. NEVER coming back to this counter again. read more

The customer service is terrible. The women working here are almost always in a bad mood. There are 1 or 2 girls I've ever had help me that have been sweet; the rest are just bitchy. What's up with that? I know they are over worked and probably under paid so I try to be as nice as possible, but its not a pleasant experience. In fact, I dread going there. I go because I like the product, and because its the closest. The one thats actually inside the mall is a little bit better, but the customer service is still not that great. So sorry, and may not even be relevant now as I'm not sure if Gloria is still there - but still worth sharing... This review is specifically to praise and give credit to a wonderful person who just so happens to work for the MAC counter at the Cerritos' Nordstrom. I nearly NEVER receive nice service from the make-up artists at any MAC counters - doesn't matter where - they are not at all versed in skillfuly and client centered customer service. But last week, before the Christmas weekend, I had some last minute shopping to do for my co-workers and found some fun nutcracker collection tiny lipsticks from MAC. What I was genuinely impressed with and walked away feeling good about my purchase and my overall shopping experience was the product of my interaction with Gloria at the MAC counter. She was just finishing up with another customer and came over to me and helped me with the boxes (I had 8 in my hand). She checked every single one because she said she had noticed that some boxes were missing lipsticks and wanted to be sure that wasn't the case with the ones I was purchasing. They only had the dark lippies left, and she called 2 additional MAC stores including the one in that same mall and another Nordstrom MAC to see if we could locate the nude boxes to purchase. Unfortunately they were out- but it was her actions, helpfulness, and attempts to locate them for me that impressed me most. Not many will take the time to make these phone calls - speaking from experience. Last, after I paid for them, she noticed her counter was not that busy - she walked over to the wrapping station and located cute shopping gift bags and tissue for the gift items. I was highly impressed with her service and genuine kind nature that I honestly was shocked to have this type of experience from a MAC counter interaction. So much so that I had to leave this review for GLORIA. I hope she had a great Christmas holiday, she earned it! read more

Wow. How much has this place changed? I used to come here alot, especially when my gf Jill was the manager. It's HUGE now! It's not just the counter with the middle island anymore, it's like a friggin store. Lots of room! Makeup everywhere but well organized and the girls aren't squished in the small space anymore. Nikki Napalm is amazing!!! I had her do my make up just over a year ago for my wedding. I had a particular theme in mind (Art Deco) for my look and was hoping for an old Hollywood glamour look. She nailed the look and I felt like a total star that day. She is very professional and KNOWS what she is doing. She was able to to mine and two of my bridesmaid's makeup in a short period of time. She even went above and beyond by helping one of my bridemaid's cover up some bad tan lines. She was easy to get a hold of and stayed in contact up until the big day. Had an excellent experience at the MAC makeup counter today. Was recommended 3 things that were new to me. Burning love lipstick and liquid matte, a different concealer color, fever blush. I usually tend to stick to what works for me and don't step outside of the box. Christin was able to think on her toes and just look at me and pick out good items for me. This is your typical MAC counter. The people working the counter try to be nice but follow you around and try to up sell everything. I know it is their job, but it gets very annoying. I know my way around the counter and own over half their product line so having to turn them down over and over isn't my idea of fun. I would appreciate them leaving me alone until I know what I want to buy. I only gave 3-stars because this is the most empty MAC counter and you can actually look at their products and take your time. They are never overly busy. read more

The experience that my fiancé and I had was awful. Only 4 hours from our engagement photos I took her to Mac because she wanted her makeup to look professionally done for the photos. I have never gone to a Mac counter and experienced perfection like I did at Nordstrom in the Cerritos Mall. My mom suggested I go there for a young lady name Jenny (we believe), but when she wasn't available I was forced to try someone new. I was not too fond of trying anyone new but I had to because I had engagement photos. The ladies at this counter are outstanding!!!! Customer service is a number one priority for me. I will not spend my money on anything if the customer service is bad. Everyone at this counter was polite and ready to help in anyway possible. I can't even explain how perfect my makeup artist was. Her name is Nikki. My makeup was perfect for my engagement photos! I have never said anyone was perfect at a Mac Counter and I've been going to Mac to get my makeup done for special events for over 15 years. NIKKI IS A MUST HAVE! She can do anything for anyone. At the holidays, I usually get whatever their holiday gift set is and that's usually about the extent of my purchases here. I would give 5 stars, but I have received the wrong foundation color and had to return to the store to exchange. Went to mac today for national lipstick day at Cerritos mall. Me and my husband got tickets to redeem our free lipstick. My husband stepped out of line to go to the bathroom . When he came back they said that the tickets had to go in sets of ten to get through the door. The mac lady who was collecting the tickets said we had to go to the back of the line. By the time a few more sets had gone in and then they ran out of lipsticks. What a waste of time! We had a ticket and we still didn't get a lipstick! read more

After staying away from the Mac counter for 2 years..I had a relapse on Sunday... I love the new remodeled Mac.. easy on the go shelves so if you need to help yourself. So I decided to indulge since my makeup case was running low on a few things.. the staff is great & helpful. The girl that was helping me was really cool & she even did my eyeshadow. When you bring in 6 empty containers you get a free lipstick!! I got a snazzy red color...so after 2 hours I walked out with a paint pot, lip liner, lipgloss, mascara, eyeliner, blush, fabulous eyelashes for my sailor costume, & 3 eyeshadows all for the $162..yes indeed I think now I will stay away from Mac for another 2 years it is so addicting & it will leave you with a huge whole inyour wallet but it's total worth feeling pretty & fabulous in the end! read more

oh DEAR. my experience here is crap. I came here maybe a year ago in search of an eyebrow pencil. I stop by cerritos mall coming home from work and that gives me less then an hour to do anything so I like quick service. I asked for an eyebrow pencil because I decided to try and start filling in my brows. I took whatever she offered me, purchased it and left...only to find she had given me a very akward brown colored eyeliner...wtcrap lady...so I went to s.coast and returned it as the girl at the scoast mac counter laughed at the mistake. yesterday i completely ran out of powder & because cerritos mall is a convenient stop for me on the way to work I stopped by the counter to pick some up. I was almost immediately helped as soon as I got to the counter, and while my person went to look for something, 3 other ladies asked if I needed any help. I have never experienced such attentive service at any other MAC counter or stand alone store.
