With this MAC store it's honestly a hit or miss. If you go when it's kinda slow, you may get decent service and plenty of attention. I come here very often and I usually spend about $70 on products. This review is for my last two visits, both times I already knew what I wanted and simply told an available artist. Nothing complicated. Both times. there's been a dark-haired larger woman (sorry, I don't know her name, resorting to descriptions) sitting at the register with the BIGGEST attitude. I decided against buying a lip liner and mentioned this to her as she rung me up and she completely ignored me. I kindly said, "Did you hear me? I don't want the lip liner." To which she rudely said "Yes. I HEARD you" and continued typing on the computer. She had this attitude the next time I went too. Is it too much to ask that you at least offer a fake, pretend smile? Or say "thank you" when you hand me my bag of expensive products I just bought? If you hate your job, do everybody a favor and just don't work there. I've never been to this specific MAC store before and I decided I needed some new makeup so I stopped into the nearest store which happened to be this one. I needed a new foundation and new blush and Kelly one of the sales associates was so helpful during the process. She helped me get color matched and told me which foundation was the beat for my skin type. Kelly gave me her recommendations for a new blush and I'm seriously obsessed with it. Kelly was so sweet and gave me some really good tips and tricks! Definitely coming back to her for my next makeover. read more

Came into the store after 15 min of browsing the mall to find my girlfriend still asking questions and applying different types of cosmetics to her face. Not gonna lie, I had a great experience listening to Raquel (Rocky) explain and apply plenty of different types of make-up to her face. Two days prior my girlfriend and I watched this 15 min video of a YouTube blogger apply make up lol and Rocky touched on many of the same points. I don't know anything about make up but the experience my girlfriend and I had at this Mac store because of Raquel was so pleasant. She is such a nice, sweet, friendly, and professional person. This MAC has the most legitimately nice group of make up artists. I got exceptional customer service today from Milania (I hope that's right!). I walked in after being heartbroken my favorite lipgloss was discontinued by Sephora. I googled a dupe and someone said to get a lipgloss from MAC. The item was long discontinued (which is fine, I know how MAC works), and instead of apologizing and letting me go, Milania was so helpful. She helped me swatch colors trying to find a similar match, and she found me a gloss that wasn't quite mine, but still perfect. We talked about Viva Glam and she was just so passionate and sweet it was contagious. I appreciate being treated well when I go shopping for makeup. I'm no pro and lucky to get foundation on most days ... and they still treated me like a million bucks. :) read more

It's been a long time since I've been to MAC, I stopped going there when I had a bad experience with a make up artist. Fast forward it's been 5 years later and my husband bought me a GC this past Christmas and I had no choice but to visit the establishment. A make artist by the name of Kelly helped me and although I was a little apprehensive she made my experience super memorable but disappointed to learn she's not a full time employee.... MAC management please bring this young woman on board full time, she cared about taking the time to find a solution for my skin issue and make up. So I woke up this morning with a bad migraine and decided I'm just gonna go ahead and renew membership, and get my access again. Being that I have been an artist and a full cosmetologist for years... I have not fully taken advantage of discounts that I've earned as a cosmetologist, and I feel I'm spending way too much money on make up so let's rethink this. Not only has MAC Cosmetics kept their prices low for years it's even lower with or without a membership being that everything else has skyrocketed. I had moved to Alabama for about a year, so I finally came back, so my membership has definitely expired. I renewed it at home before shopping so I didn't have to carry my license with me. I am a MAC NC15, and that's partly why I came back to Mac, Bc I'm cocktailing too many foundations to get my shade. It's hard to find a super light or dark in certain undertones. I had gotten matched at another location, and had picked Mineralize Liquid, but their computer plummeted, so she kindly gave me a sample. After a week of wearing the foundation, I noticed it separated, so I chose Studio Sculpt instead. I had gotten my license 7 years ago while wearing Pro Longwear, and the colors are always perfect and wear comfortably. I need full coverage for my sun damage, but want to go...so despite the separation, I will try another formula...and I still wanted more coverage. I got Strobe Cream in Pink Light, to beam, (I used Strobe Liquid when I was younger and oily....) MAC Studio Sculpt MSF in Light Plus, and Lavender Fix Plus to help subside my migraines and set my makeup. They even invited me to an event. Also to mention, they had every reason to be impatient with me, Bc my it was hard to pull up my pro account. As it takes 24 hours. Thanks to technology I had already been approved via email, and the manager overrides the transaction, and I was able to purchase in store and take my lovelies one the same day. This review is based soley on the store itself, not the products because we know the products are high-quality and pretty great. SERVICE was awful. I did not have high expectations, all I wanted was powder. I was looking at the lipglosses and trying them on, and one of the emplyeess put her hands on my hips and moved me saying "excuse me sweetie." IT WAS INCREDIBLY RUDE. Then I came up to another employee to purchase while she's talking to another customer much much older, I was left to stand and ignored.. Many of these employees are incredibly rude and unkind it definitely turned off a lot of customers. Product is excellent but the service was absolutely horrifying. Place is organized but oh so small. In all honesty I hate waking into cosmetic stores . 9 times out of 10 I walk in looking like I troll because I'm running errands so I don't look like I belong. Lol Today I walked in "knowing" what I wanted so I didn't ask for help. Tatiana walked up to me and asked me if i needed help with anything. I had received a sample size of a moisturize and I really liked the hydration on it so I came in to purchase it. She gave the product a really good review BUT recommended something that would work as a moisturizer AND A PRIMER. okay.. I'm open to suggestions., she demonstrated how light it was and I was sold. She asked me if I had any questions on anything else.. ? Well now that you asked.. any nice bronzers you recommend? Of course she did. She sampled a really nice mineralized bronzer I fell in love with. I took both. I had talked to her about my psoriasis flare ups I get when I'm stressed and she gave me a sample of a moisturizer that helps. Thank you soooooo much Tatiana. I am super grateful for your attentiveness and great customer service. MAC cosmetics protect this gem at all costs shes is a tremendous asset to your team. Let me give you guys some advice about going to the MAC Store or ANY MAC location for that matter. If you're planning on going Fri-Sun, you better EXPECT it to be busy. What retail location is NOT busy on the weekend?? These makeup artists need to take their time with each client, if they tried to hurry each interaction, what kind of service would that be? BAD. SO... Quit complaining because YOU decided to come in when it's busy. Be courteous & patient & you'll get quality service. Yeah you may have to wait a little, but why are you guys so impatient?? If you snap your fingers or wave your arms like these makeup artists are your slaves, then no wonder you go to Yelp to write bad reviews. They're human beings & nobody should be treated like that if YOU'RE the ones coming in for help. Every MAC artist at this location is so helpful every time I go into their store. If they're busy, I come back when it's not. No big deal. And if I know I DON'T want to come in when it's busy, then I go in on weekdays or first thing in the morning. They don't rush me & I'm happy. I find the people always complaining on Yelp are the ones who don't understand the type of service these makeup artists are supposed to give. They're NOT clerks. Just because you want 1 or 2 things doesn't justify why they should stop their interaction with someone wanting to get matched for a foundation or someone coming in because they want the artist to teach them how to do their eye shadow. I've seen so many rude people come in & interrupt the artists when they're in a conversation with a customer they were already helping. PLUS - that customer they're with probably waited a good 10+ minutes for them too & you're just going to interrupt them like you're more important? NO. If you're so impatient & hate going into a MAC location to shop because it's so busy, then shop online like all the other people who hate shopping at the mall because of how crowded it is. That's what it's designed for... People like you. And to say "MAC girls are cocky & you are the ones spending money for them to keep their jobs"?? Seriously? Look at how you're talking. They ask how your day is going, tell you their opinion, they don't get mad if you wanna try on multiple products. They DONT just ask "what're you looking for? Okay. Clearly this store needs a leader with a brain and some common sense. While just one cashier was taking forever to help a customer with problems, there were six sales people chatting with each other and just standing around waiting for people to walk in so they can make a sale. The long line people who wanted to make a purchase were ignored and some people including me, ended up leaving out of frustration. Just called the store and a guy answers. I ask how much an eyebrow palette with the brush is because my friend has one and I wanted to get one like hers. Saw a lot of bad reviews so I was super skeptical about going in. Cause of my points I had a free "30 minute look." They booked right away after walking in. Samira did my makeup and it was FANTASTIC. I defiantly didn't know what kind of look I was hoping for and she ended up nailing it. I ended up taking up more than an hour of her time and she never once mentioned it. I also had her change my lip to a different color and she didn't sweat it. Had a great time and they defiantly made me feel beautiful. The girls that work at this MAC seriously need some help in customer service. We get it, you know how to do your makeup... but they do not need to make the rest of us feel that we are not worth helping just because we don't cake it on like them. I like Mac products but I wear very natural makeup. Their lipsticks, and eyeshadows are my favorite. The people that work here get really into talking to each other and do not really ask you if you need help. And when you ask them for help they kind of make it seem like you are inconveniencing them or imposing on them. This was my third trip to a MAC store, and it reminded me of why I never stop by. I came to the store early in the morning, maybe half an hour after it opened. I already knew what I wanted to get (which was in one of the only-employees-can-open-them drawers), and didn't necessarily need to be helped by any of the employees that let you try things on. There were only two employees around the front of the store, and they were helping other people at the time. I asked one of them if I could just be given the product and be rung up, but I was told to wait a few minutes because they were "with someone else". While I waited, I saw two other employees doing nothing at all in the back room. One even came out and walked around a little, looked me in the eyes, and disappeared behind the back of the store into the back room again. After maybe 10 minutes, the employee finally came back (after helping a second person, I might add), and asked what I wanted. I told her, and she was surprised that it was just one simple thing. She finally picked it out of a drawer told someone in the back to ring me up. They asked how my experience was, so I gave it to him flat out. He seemed surprised that it wasn't the most exuberating experience I've ever had in my life. He apologized repeatedly, but you know, my time was still wasted. I don't think I'll be going back to a MAC anytime soon. I'd much rather go to Sephora, where I can go in for something I already know I want, I can grab it at any time I please, and I can go to the counter and buy it immediately. I think it's kinda ridiculous that MAC has such a stuck-up and not customer friendly attitude, for products that are of equal price level with places such as Sephora and Ulta. I don't doubt that MAC's products are phenomenal, but I think the store layout and employee mentalities need some work. read more

I went last night to purchase a prolong wear concealer and a highlighter. First the guy working was mean to my daughter, she was standing there looking at the lipgloss and he had the nerve to tell her to not touch the items that they were not for her to play with. First of all she was not playing with them she was looking at them. So after waiting for at least 15 minutes to get the concealer that I wanted I decided to just open the drawer to get the concealer the same ass that was to busy to help me at first bolted towards me and said that I couldn't open the drawers and had a freaking attitude. That was the last straw I told him he was rude and walked out and went to Sephora purchased my items there and was not disrespected and was given samples! I love Sephora!! If I could give lower than one star, I would! First off, I frequent this store and every single time I go there, the "customer service" is worse and worse. I went in (for the last time) yesterday, and I wasn't helped whatsoever. None of the workers even acknowledged I was there. I didn't see my shade of blush that I was looking for, so I stood by the blush section for a good 5 minutes while the some of the workers assisted other customers that came in after me, and while some stood around chatting. After no help, I grabbed a shade similar to mine and headed to the counter to purchase my item. No one was at the registers (none out of 3,) and after "checking in" on FB writing "WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER" an older woman with pink hair, came up to the register...and rang up someone else (that she brought to the counter with her,) as I stood there with my blush on the counter, phone in hand. NOT ONCE did she even look at me. Another associate came up to the counter and asked if I was returning. I'm sure the look on my face frightened her because by this point, I was PISSED. I said "No," in a very matter-of-fact voice, and said "I've been in here for 10 minutes and I'm buying this." She then proceeds to tell me that only the one register was working and that she (pointing to Pinky) would ring me up shortly. So finally, Pinky grabbed my blush and scanned it. Not once did she ask for my profile, nor did she say one single word to me...except for my total of course. I paid, grabbed my bag, walked out, and of course nobody said "bye, have a great day" or anything. I was even more irate now. I walked around the mall for a few more minutes and was so upset over this experience, I walked back into MAC and returned the blush. Well wouldn't you know? All 3 registers were working and 3 people were working them. I now had to stand in line to return something I shouldn't have bought in the first place due to their lack of customer service and appreciation. (Hello?! The customer is the reason you get paid!) When it was finally my turn, I was cut off yet again by another customer an associate had brought up to the counter. WTH. This place is ridiculous! When I got up to the register, another girl (not Pinky thank God,) said hi in a very moody voice; like I was inconveniencing her. I said "Yeah I'm returning this." And that was that. She didn't ask why, she didn't do anything. She took my receipt, looked at it, asked for my card (that was already out on the counter for her to take,) and did a return. Didn't say bye, NOTHING! If you hate the public, then don't work in a position where you HAVE to deal with the public on a daily basis! If you think you're better than someone, because you work at MAC, then you have issues. I will NEVER, EVER, EVER shop at this store again. I would rather go tot CVS and buy Cover Girl than deal with these people. read more

My poor mum came to get her makeup done here for a friends birthday event. She was traumatized! her make up looked terrible. I wasn't with her at the time,but when she came home and I saw I couldn't believe it. Her makeup was borderline clownish I cannot believe these people call themselves professionals. She not only got a botched makeup job, but she was completely ripped off because the foundation they sold her wasn't even close to her skin color.
