Flourless chocolate cake 6"

Mabel's on Queen Street is fantastic. With social distancing measures in place, I was able to place a cake order over the phone, for scheduled pick-up, for my coworker's birthday. It was beautifully made and ready for her on the day off her celebration. The staff I spoke to on the phone were friendly and very easy to work with. I'll definitely be visiting once social distancing is lifted. Thank you. By the way, it was a 6" flourless chocolate cake that i had ordered.

Good bakery in good price When we pass by Mabel's, we would get some fresh bread from them. Our favorite there are organic white bread and multigrain sourdough bread. We also purchased some cupcakes from them. The flavours are alright. Just regular. My kids love them though.

I was in the area so thought of trying this place. I had Iced Americano and Blueberry Danish. The Americano had two shots of expresso and had strong darker taste. The star shaped Blueberry Danish was simply delicious too! I would definitely try other bakery items next time.

This bakery is a short walk from the Gladstone hotel where we were staying. I was looking for a sweet treat and wandered into this place. They have a variety of coffees, teas and baked goods. There are also other items like salads and mueslis and packaged treats to take home. I asked if there were any gf items and they had gf almond cookies, vegan gf energy balls, and a vegan gf peanut butter rice krispy treat. I opted for the latter with a large rooibos chai. My tea was not filled to the top but I got distracted and didn't bother to have them add more water. The peanut butter rice krispy treat was large, sticky, chewy and sweet.....and soooo good. It hit the spot!

If you're visiting Toronto for a few weeks, you may notice the Mabel's Bakery trucks. They have several locations throughout the city selling freshly made breads and pastries. My wife, daughter and I went here for breakfast. My wife ordered an almond croissant, our daughter a plain croissant, and I a chocolate croissant. All were good, but not as good as in Montreal. The bakery itself is very local and beautiful inside.

Nice local bakery for all your cravings. They offer pastries, breads, desserts, sandwiches, cheeses, meats, prepared soups, curry plates, packaged goods, a variety of beverages and even pizza dough! Very good selection--a bakery with a mini grocery store. Reasonable prices. The chocolate almond croissant was loaded with almond paste with enough chocolate to satisfy. The lemon custard pie tasted like a cross between a shortbread cookie and a firm cake. The toffee tart was flaky and not too sweet. The French baguette had a good crust worth a soft interior dough. Overall pleased with this little shop that could.

While walking to Gladstone Hotel.. My Yelp friend just stopped me and say this place is new?! Mabel's? Does sounded familiar.. I remembered the name and even walked by a store months ago...? This is apparently Mabel's Bakery new second location on Queen Street West! The set up is really similar to the store on Roncesvalles. If you are looking for freshly baked goods: bread, sweets, prepared food, you will able to find here. A coffee or espresso beverages to go with your drinks, Mabel's has it too! This is more of a take out place, though they do a few seatings outside the store...

Delicious baked goods you just can't go wrong. Freshly baked it's an experience to say the least. While I was hesitant to give this place a shot I caved. I mean who doesn't want a a croissant or baguette for breakfast? While I'm not a fan of their bagels, a little sweet for my liking, their baked goods are great. The lemon squares tart lemon goodness without tasting artificial. I'm also told their cookies and brownies are out of this world. Prepared ready to heat veggie empanadas are fantastic! Most of the ingredients used are all natural with numerous organic items. Check the refrigerated section- homemade soups, pies, etc Coffee and tea available to pair with your tasty treats. Bonus points for the pasta stir sticks! Service is hit or miss- just ok.

Great neighbourhood bakery. I love that they have uncooked pasta noodles instead of stir sticks for their coffee.

Delicious baked goods. Some of their prepared foods - quiche, lasagna, sandwiches are quite good, too. Lovely service.

The pastries and mochi breads are absolutely exquisite! I tried the black sesame mochi bread--light, pillowy, and filled with a delightful little white mochi surprise. The crème brûlée almond tart was incredible too, with its thick, eggy custard and a blueberry-almond center. And the Hitotoki matcha tart? Gorgeous and just perfect. It was my first visit, and I discovered the bakery through their 2nd-anniversary IG post. I bought about $20 worth of treats and got to spin their prize wheel--and I actually won the Grand Prize: a limited-edition gold Nespresso & milk frother kit! I literally jumped for joy. Yet another reason to love this incredible bakery!

It was okay. Tried three items:…read more Matcha Lava Tart - The staff said this had the strongest matcha flavour among their matcha items. But there was no "lava" at all... just a layer of cream sitting on a thick tart base. You do get some matcha flavour, but definitely not that rich and flowing matcha sauce I saw in those online reels. Matcha Mont Blanc - Too sweet. The green noodle-shaped topping is actually made from a kind of bean paste - not much matcha taste, but had a strong bean flavour instead. And again, it was too sweet to my liking. Taro Tart - This one was good. Taro-flavoured cream on top, with taro paste underneath, then a layer of custard with mochi at the bottom. Had a rich taro flavour. Still a bit sweet, but not as overwhelming as the Mont Blanc. Overall it was not bad, although TBH I haven't really found great matcha desserts in Toronto so far.

My wife always judges a French Cafe by their Butter Croissant ($3.00) and she liked it! She also noticed all the  staff speak French sp it gives it even more legitimacy.  She also ordered a Flat White ($4.50) which was also good. I ordered a Plum Almond Tart ($7.25) because it was the prettiest. It was super delicious so it was definitely a good choice! Service was courteous and friendly. You place your order at the counter and bring it to your table. Someone will come around to clear the dishes when you are done It is a great place to have a nice casual time eating and socializing. They make all their food in-house in the basement. There are products for sale such as coffee beans, fruit syrup, maple syrup, smoked sauces, olive oil, scented soap, wine glassware, etc. I will definitely come back again to try other items. There is free WiFi. The neo-bisto is not wheelchair accessible since there are stairs leading up to the entrance. There are two gender-neutral washrooms. There is free street parking on their one-way south-bound street. Review 2023-017

Hopped on my bike and a half hour later I was there. The friendly staff helped me by answering my question regarding eggs and which items did not have any in the recipes. This place was also super poppin' when I got there. It was earlish in the day around 10:30am and it seemed all the tables were pretty much taken. They are adding a dinner menu which is very exciting. Their pastries are phenomenal!!! Picked up a plum and pistachio tart, a chocolate mousse cake and an apple Danish for my mom. Plus a chocolate caramelized croissant. So much butter, and yet so good. Brought my container, which they happily used. The last time I visited this spot back in 2022, I vowed I would come back and take up space in that beautiful bay window seat. Yet I haven't followed through with that yet. One day. They also changed the name, since I was there last it was called Le Conciliabule Lab. Le Conciliabule means, "speak easy", as their website says. It was used back in the day to describe a place where people would come together and talk about everything and nothing. I can definitely say that happens here. What a beautiful concept, "everything and nothing". Now named Bisou, which means kiss. That's actually really simple and sweet. Since every pastry and any food item or beverage enjoyed here is a kiss for your tastebuds. Love it. Keep going team. You are amazing!
