My favorites so far are the combo meals, bibimbap, galbitang, and the mackerel combo. Those have consistently been the best dishes I've had here. On this visit, I felt that the food tasted even better than during my previous visits. It seems like they're putting effort into improving and maintaining the quality of their food, which I really appreciate. Then i came to him asking him how long is for the table, he asked me if i want to be together or separate table? I told him that i want together. I asked again how long, with his arrogance and rude answer without looking at my eyes he said 45 mins. For me, his attitude, his answer is rude, arrogant and racist. Just because we're not korean, his giving us attitude. I came here a lot, i actually liked the food but because of this pretending to be Mr Shin ( i know its not his real name) i asked him about his name since his being so rude, he gave me a rude answer for his name " Mr. Shin" ( i know its fake, and i know his lying). Then i told my families that we should just leave. There's a lot of good korean bbq around there and we all ended up ate at a different korean bbq " SungBookDong BBq" in littleneck. And im glad we go here because their marinated kalbi is really good and the cold noodle and their galbi tang also really good. Had to give the spicy one a try since they said they make their own in house hot sauce and the sauce is slightly different from the one they provide on the table. Honestly, I took a sip of my friend's regular and I prefer the regular one. You can taste that the broth has been simmered for a good amount of time that there was an almost gelatinous texture to the soup but not too bad. As we were sipping away, we kept commenting how good this soup must be for the mind, body and soul and also our skin!! Only thing that was a con was that I thought the Soondae in the soup was a little overcooked and too soft in texture for my liking.

We got on the waitlist and requested them to call our phone number once ready and we got called in 10-15 minutes. Fun fact- coffee factory is across the street so you can grab a coffee and chill there while you wait. It seems like they mainly speak Korean but we had a waitress that spoke English and explaining everything to us in details, very attentive. We got quite a bit to try- Mixed handmade soondae: Wowwwwww. You HAVE to get this. I think the one with the veggies in there is the Jeju style soondae. Never had anything like this. It matches very well with the soondae taste and the veggies brighten it up. You know sometimes it becomes redundant when you just eat soondae because of its taste, it's not the same with this one. There's not much texture difference but still really really good. The normal soondae is also very good. Comparing it to other soondae I've had, it doesn't have too strong of the blood taste, very clean, and it's oh so very soft. Pro tip, can put more of these in the soondae soup if you got that too. Also use the salt on the side but very sparingly. They also came with offals on the top but they are not my favorite usually and it was very dry for me. Soondae gook: Very clean broth yet still creamy. On the side is the salt, pepper, perilla seed and salted shrimp. Go little by little but highly recommend to at least to put the shrimp and perilla seed as it's not really flavored like all other places. The soondae in there was also very soft, same as the normal soondae in the other plate. But the soup is still high up there compared with others I've had. Spicy soondae stirfry: They used the same normal soondae and stir fried it with some noodles, perilla leaves, dokbokki, and a spicy sauce. It's not bad, but having tasted the soondae on its own, we felt like it was a waste of the soondae. The sauce had such a strong taste, it masked the taste of the soondae. The dokbokki was super soft tho. Overall- you bet I'm coming back. FYI, their bathroom situation is pretty interesting. It's outside of the restaurant, around the corner at the first door (cracked open) and head down the stairs.

Yuupduk is my go to place to get tteokbokki (rice cakes in spicy sauce). I believe they are a chain…read morefrom S. Korea, and they are known for their very spicy tteokbokki. The texture of the rice cakes are nice and chewy - more so than other restaurants. I used to get their namesake tteokbokki which can be made to be extra spicy. And when I say spicy, I mean really, really spicy. These days, I've been getting the rosé tteokbokki, which is much less spicy because of the addition of the cream. Unfortunately, they can't seem to make it very spicy (which was the original reason why I craved tteokbokki from here specifically), but the rosé tteokbokki is addictive in its own way. I always add an extra order of the sausage; they have a good snap and the flavor complements the tteokbokki very well. I've had the other dishes here before - the udon, mini kimbap, tuna rice balls, tempura, donkatsu, etc. Everything is pretty well done. The only dish that I do not like from here is the soondae, which is unfortunate because tteokbokki and soondae is such a classic Korean bunsik combo. But alas, I would not recommend getting that dish here. The flavor and the texture of the dish is not up to par with their other menu items.

Please refer to my previous review for more thoughts. We came right at opening at 11:30 am on a Saturday and shared a large rose tteokbokki that was delicious as always. The rice cakes are tender and chewy & the sauce is as addictive as usual with its balance of savory umami, sweetness, and spice. I haven't had the large size tteokbokki in awhile as I usually come alone & get the small size but the large size is a great option for when you eat with someone else. My friend really liked the tteokbokki as well, I'm glad to convert another person to be a Yupdduk fan ;) We also ordered the kimari/gimmari/deep fried seaweed rolls filled with glass noodles. It's my first time having this dish and this was also very tasty. The glass noodles inside are well seasoned and savory & the deep fried seaweed is nice and crispy. It's a great appetizer to pair with tteokbokki! The music they play is always nice and chill & usually the restaurant isn't very crowded. There's wifi as well! It's a very casual place and great place to grab food with friends. I once again, highly recommend Yupdduk!
