    Ma Special #1

Very good service and lots of coffee refills. Classic diner experience, loved the garden skillet with feta. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the American fries were awesome, kind of a mix between hashbrowns and home fries. Will definitely be back!! Heads up they are not open 24 hours and close at 9pm.

Ma Fischer's is an east side staple - it's hard to think of any UW-Milwaukee student not having at least one meal here. First time having Ma's Homemade Hash and likely not the last! Our server was very attentive and patient with our group (two kids aged 6 and 9 who both practiced ordering). Not 24/7 anymore - but maybe one day...

    Ma's Special #1 and Ma's Special #2

My husband and I used to love going to the George Webb's on Oakland Avenue, but once that closed we were left looking for another diner that could give us the simple yet delicious breakfast options we wanted. That's when I remembered the classic east side Ma Fischer's. It had been years since I'd been there, but she did not disappoint. We had the Ma's Special #1 and Ma's Special #2, which were both delicious and hit the spot. This place remains cozy with a great mix of patrons, good service and hardy food served quickly. As bummed as I am that Webbs is gone, I am glad that Ma Fisher's remains a constant choice for a solid, at home feel breakfast.

A step back into simpler times at a true diner. We had dinner here before heading to the Oriental Theater, just down the street. The menu is extensive with a wide variety of offerings and includes something for everyone. Window booths, a dessert glass case, and lots of food identify Ma Fischer's as the real deal. You don't just order a French Dip, you get soup, a side, with the entree, giving you almost too much food to eat in one sitting. (We took home plenty for another meal!). The servers were efficient and took good care of us, making sure we got what we asked for and doing it quickly. The food was good, although my French Dip was a bit salty. The soup is filled with good flavors, and I can see why this place has been around for nearly 100 years of service. Although I did not use the restrooms, the overall restaurant is accessible. You don't mess with a winning style. The pricing is really reasonable, and we enjoyed ourselves as we headed on to our next location

Build your own breakfast burrito (bacon, egg, cheese, spinach)

Often when I would be at the Oriental Theatre at the other end of the block, I would contemplate stopping at Ma Fischer's for a late night snack. I was recently able get stop before a movie I was seeing and dine in for dinner instead. I got mozzarella sticks and, since you can order breakfast all day long, a build your own breakfast burrito with bacon, egg, cheese, and spinach. The mozzarella sticks were Italian breaded and clearly out a box. Nothing special, but they hit the spot. The breakfast burrito was ok. I've had better, but I've had worse as well. The hashbrowns that came with the burrito were bland and needed salt and pepper. I wish they had been a little crispier. I heard my server complain to another that a different table didn't leave a tip for them. Sorry to hear that, but it's also not something you should be mentioning within earshot of customers. Maybe that unprofessionalism had something to do with it?

Hands down best old school diner in the heart of Milwaukee. Buzzing atmosphere the moment you come in. The staff is knowledgeable, fast, and friendly. The food is diner food but the best of the best of it! I came with my family, and now coming with my friends to share the experience, and they are hooked now too! I only wish I lived closer, but can't wait to come back, keep doing what you are doing Ma Fischers!!!

I had a great eggsperience here :) !! Very cozy atmosphere and super fast and friendly service... Even on a Sunday at 9:30 it was not very crowded. I got the garden veggie skillet with feta cheese and tzatziki - was not the most flavorful thing but was good! The mushrooms weren't cooked but didn't really notice. The eggs were cooked perfectly. My hot cocoa was amazing. The food came out super quick and piping hot. My friends loved their food as well!

    Ma's Homemade Hash

Food (3.7/5): got the hash and pancakes, both of which were good. Pancakes were nicely sized. Everything was reasonably priced. Service (4.5/5): got our food very quick and the waitress was friendly Ambiance (4/5): classic diner, which is always dope Overall (4/5): was it the most amazing breakfast food? No. Will I be going back if I want breakfast for dinner, if I'm drunk at 2am, or if hungover the next morning? 1000%.

    Bloody Mary
    Marissa P.

The bloody mary was awesome! Loved the variety of snacks. i would recommend getting it spicy. The burger was good but wasn't the best I've had. I wish the party was slightly thinner. Next time, I would try something more breakfasty. The service was decent. Slightly slow considering we were one of few tables in the restaurant. The atmosphere was super cute. It had a retro diner feel and the menu also matched the vibe.

    Single serving of mimosa anyone?

It started out fantastic, but after we received our food, we were never checked on again and actually had to literally chase down our server to get the bill. Outside there were three tables of people, one large group who was waiting for the baseball shuttle and just drinking. Two larger tables were set up as reserved inside. They slowly filled as we ate our meal. And one other table of two came in after us. There were maybe 4 people at the bar. All this to say, it wasn't crazy busy by any stretch. We started with one server (who was really good) who took our order then we were handed off to another (who wasn't bad). When we arrived we were one of two tables inside. There were three servers on the floor and two behind the bar which was adequate for the number of people dining. Our initial server apparently was working the reserved seating, but even still, the second server never checked on us after we received our food. Also, we didn't receive our entire order. We weren't charged for the food we didn't get, but had anyone stopped by to refill water or see if we wanted more drinks, we could have asked about the missing food. So, all in all, not the worst dining experience ever, but not the best. Being ignored is never fun.
