This is a good spot to get away from work to have a drink to get you feeling right, but just one or two will do. My friends always have lots of drinks, so it's also a good place to figure out which of your friends are alcoholics. Get help, Phil. The bartender looks like my cousin Jerry who just got out of prison. Jerry's not the same anymore and he can't live near schools but I guess that's not this bartender's fault. The prices are not bad for where this is located. They have a service window connecting to the restaurant next door where you can order fried food. The service window looks like jail bars though so I wouldn't bring Jerry here. The restaurant next door closed and now it's going to be a sbarro. Can they fit the stromboli through those jail bars? literally the rudest bartender weve ever encountered. 8:00pm on a Saturday night she is furious we wanted to have a beer while waiting for our train. She went on to basically guilt us because she said she was planning to close early at 8:30. we asked can we just have a beer til then? and she rolled her eyes, told us flat out she was annoyed and tired because she was closing early. we ordered 2 cans of beer to go, and while waiting to pay and leave , she turned away 5 more people by immediately telling them she's closing early and will not be making any more drinks. Coworkers and I usually stop by M Bar after work due to how convenient and cheap it is. M Bar is down in the Pedway and actually has the most reasonable prices for drinks I've seen in the area. The alcoholic slushie is $10 and is both strong and sweet - you can't taste the alcohol but you'll feel it. I also usually get a vodka tonic which I want to say is $4 or $5. Pretty reasonable for the area. The bar has a real divey feel to it and has some of the same musty smell that the Pedway has. The music is interesting; it plays a weird mix of hip hop, pop, oldies, and Latin music. Sometimes you'll get something else random thrown in there too. It's pretty loud so be ready to yell over both the music and the other loud people in the bar. The service is honestly the worst part about this bar. It's SLOW. The most number of bartenders I've ever seen working is 3 and this place can get pretty busy so be ready to wait for a while. If you're in a rush, go ahead and close out when you get your drink. Also note that you can get drinks to go. While the location is good and drinks are cheap for the area, the service and loud music just makes this place 'okay' to me. This place is kool. Has TVs and inexpensive drinks they can even make it to go! But you have to go through a couple seedy people to get to it. Its downstairs underground by the train. But once in your on. The bartenders are very nice. The people are nice and friendly. Type of joint that I like. read more

Getting to this place is so difficult. It's literally underground in the union Station tucked all the way in the back around a corner by some stairs. I can't say much about the drinks because it closed so early that I wasn't able to get one. The bartender there is very rude and disrespectful. She call me out my name. She had the men that work there take my to go drink away from me I was told that I could not come back. Previously before that she also had the guy that works there with the dreads to pick up a young lady and through her out of the bar. The bartender sits behind the bar and take shot and become very aggressive and belligerent towards customer. I ask for the owner and I was told he's never there and she runs things. All I wanted to do is have a good night with out drama but things went left with dealing with a person like her. Sells alcohol and conveniently located in Millennium Station. A nice place to pass the time if you are waiting for a train. When I was visiting, there was the bonus of free samples of delicious popcorn across the hall. I do suspect this is not the norm, however. Service was good, and the location protected us from the Chicago elements. The bar itself has a sort of bland generic sports bar atmosphere, but the staff is friendly and the prices are more reasonable that I would have expected (unless you want Scotch, that was a little steep). I like this place! It's super low key and chill without being TOO "divey". Great for after work drinks, and very reasonably priced. They have a "new school" juke box that plays whatever you want. When I was there I heard mostly 90s R&B and hip-hop. There's an app so you can even select from your phone. Shoutout to Jasmine, the bartender who made sure my friend and I were taken care of. You can eat food from any of the neighboring establishments while you drink. I grabbed a black bean burrito from the place across the way. There's an adjoining window to the place next door that sells mozzarella sticks etc but don't let that restrict you. If you're jumping on the train you can grab a drink to go. Ayyyyye! Decent bar, I would love to return. Dropped in for a quick beer, I only spent 5.00 for a beer, fine no problem. I signed My tab, I simply asked for a receipt to take with me....I'm given a receipt that says 16.50. Again I spent $5.00. I mentioned the receipt says 16.50 not 5.00. The light skin female bartender says "no it's states 5.00. Another lady approaches me and asks what's wrong. I said I'm only asking for the correct receipt. Then the original bartender gives me the correct receipt for $5.00 with an attitude. Customer service is everything. read more

I came here on a random weekday afternoon with a friend while exploring the loop and helping her navigate through the pedway. It was completely dead, but the servers were super nice and were able to give us more attention. They have a wide variety of vodka flavors (which I always look for) and the prices were reasonable. Their music was AWESOME (Marky Mark Pandora playlist FTW). It is definitely a random location but I will be back - whether it's for a pre-Metra drink or during the bitter cold when I don't want to be above ground. They have a good amount of space and I can see myself coming back and turning it into a dance party one of these nights. *I would LOVE it if they got some TouchTunes, Nudie Photohunt, and/or karaoke. My work decided to do a happy hour here yesterday. It's actually a decent sized bar, tucked away under neath Chicago in the pedway system. The drinks are decently priced, and although they do not serve food, there's plenty of places right next door that do. They even have a small opening in the wall where you can order from the pizza place next door. We got no service at the tables, you have to go up to the bar to order. And I was really surprised they were blaring the music really loud so it was really hard to have a conversation. read more

Not a bad place to grab a drink or two before jumping on your train. Service was kind of haphazard. This looks like a place with proper waitstaff service, but it's not. When I came here, I had to put my credit card down as a deposit and order drinks. It's fine by me, just needs to be noted that they don't offer table service. I love this "True hidden to out-of-towners" underground bar. Reminds of the small town bars near home in Detroit. This is the revived Bar Millennium, and apart from some minor cosmetic changes, it's the exact same concept: a sports-oriented bar located in the pedway near METRA's Randolph Street terminal. It serves shots & beers to a lively post-work commuter crowd, a relatively rare (for the Loop) mix of blue and white collar workers, most of whom seem to work either in the offices which comprise the Prudential and Aon complexes, or keeping them maintained and running smoothly. It's pretty dead before the whistle blows, and close to standing room only by 5:30 p.m. If you're hungry, a dutch door gives you convenient access to the adjoining pizza place, which serves up huge slices and calzones. Nothing really exceptional about this place, and would normally merit a solid three-star rating, but I'm giving it an extra one because of its relatively heterogeneous mix of office drones and hard-hats. read more

This place is kind of a mess, but what do you expect from a sports bar in the train station? It's where you go to kill time if you missed your train or if you want to slam a few more beers/shots before you and your sloppy friends hop on the drunk train back to Indiana for the night. I'm glad it's so dark in here because I don't really want to know what any of the bartenders or patrons look like, and I certainly don't need to get a good look at the glassware in which my drink is served. Honestly, I try to only order bottles in places like the M Bar, but every now and then someone orders me a draught beer or a shot and I can't say no. Don't get me wrong, the bartenders are friendly enough if you aren't slurring your words or looking for a fight. It's a fine place for a last-call, but it certainly isn't a destination in and of itself, unless you're into that sort of thing. I've seen scrappy little white dudes trying to pick fights with the behemoth bouncers, get thrown out, and creep back in just to try it all over again. I've seen frat boys passed out after a Cubs game and get left behind as the rest of the crew catches the last South Shore back to Ogden Dunes. I've witnessed make-out sessions that were so intense, even I probably should have taken Plan B after I got home, and I was all the way across the bar. Aside from all that, they do sell tall boys for the train, which is one of the best things about riding the late-night NICTD to Indiana. Don't get mad at all the folks who have no business being in public after consuming way too much alcohol, just pop open your Corona and enjoy the show. But try not to sit too close to the bathroom once you get on the train. read more

Nice little bar tucked inside the subway station perfect for avoiding the rain and killing some time before a flight. Sports on the tv for the hubby and a Channing Tatum movie on another screen for me. Picked up some popcorn across the way to snack on with our drinks. 1. The gal who served us was just blah from the start (10pm on a Friday). Asked for a beer list/menu and she just said them off like a robot. They had "signs" on the bar, but that was only for Sat and Sun. Ordered our drinks and had to tell her TWICE to keep it open. My friend with me tried several times to get her attention cuz she forgot the lime she originally asked for. Clearly she was not "there". 2. While "our" bartender was busy cleaning with her back to us and couldn't hear me calling (music was loud) for a round to go, I waved TWICE to the guy working the other side. He just looked at me and continued on to the register (where we were sitting near) to ring up his other customers. TWICE. Didn't even tell the gal that we needed/wanted something. THEN when I got "loud" about it, he blew me off and in not so many words to either stop bitching or you don't get your drinks to go. Seriously. He was a total dick. 3. I got a receipt for the purchase, but it was NOT itemized. Where else does a person go and buy things/drinks and you don't get an itemized list? 4. Last call was at 10:30pm but they close at 11pm. It's a small bar there isn't THAT much to clean. 5. It's quite obvious that unless you're a regular (I didn't notice anyone else getting ignored), you get treated like crap since they are the last place in the vicinity, near the train, AND later in the night. read more

Just had the best post - missing the train experience ever!!! Small talk sometimes isn't the quintessential realm of which bar patrons need abide by ..... especially right after u miss a train. So u have a somber 72 minutes of what to do ??? Choices ...choices : I decide instead of Starbucks ....to Drink a beer/wine(or 2).that Sunday( lets face it we can have a venti anyday)After missing the train by 1 min ... the much needed glass of vino was somewhat nessacary. Collect thoughts... get it together and decide to wait ...... tick..tick....I think " Man lets grab an IPA or Moscato" to which I walk into the bar with my big ass suitcase and unwashed hair ... don't care ...but greeted just the same by my bartender . The first thing out of her mouth was "How you doing honey?" To which MY pretentious ass was on the phone so I couldn't even greet her properly. When I put up the first finger to insinuate " just a min" ... she replied " take your time honey"...... Then as I wanted , got an IPA, glass of moscato, and even better Conversation!!! I live all the way in lakeview and man .... might have to make the train station part of your treck!!! No names needed ... youll figure out the girl who works on Sunday at 1:00!!!
