Great experience all around! We arrived for lunch on a Saturday around 12:15p and didn't think to make reservations in advance. It was packed! Luckily the window high top bar-seats were available. Not great for catching up in conversation over a meal, but it was better than the a fast food place nearby. The food was great! We had the guacamole as an appetizer - if you don't like cilantro - you will want to avoid it. It was an interesting appetizer, as it came with sweet potato chips. Both were good...not sure it pairs well. (I saved the guacamole for my burger) I had the wedge burger, primarily for the egg. It was great! The burger was perfectly cooked as was the sunny side up egg. I ordered it with a side of fries. Perfectly cooked fries. They give huge portions. I was able to share with my friends. I ordered a cranberry and tonic for a beverage. It was great, however, they served it in a "bar" glass, so it was not a lot of liquid. I had to order two. I prefer pint glasses for non-alcohol beverages. Tasted great, just needed more. Prices are reasonable for a city restaurant. Popped in here for lunch once we arrived in town. I've never tried any Doc B's so was excited to try it. The staff was friendly, the server did a good job of managing the bar and the tables surrounding the bar. They were busy. The food was good. They make their own dressings but they don't make ranch. Stopped by for a quick dinner on a recent Chicago trip. We were able to get seated immediately as a party of 3 on Saturday night, around 8pm. The vibe of this restaurant is definitely a bit more casual than some of the other restaurants in River North - there's a bar section, and a mix of table/booth seating. I think it would be a great spot to watch sporting events. I opted to try the wedge burger with sweet potato fries as a side (for the burger you can choose your own side, and there are various other options such as onion rings, salad, regular fries, etc). Burger was decent size, and cooked well temperature wise (medium). Sweet potato fries were crispy. However a common theme I noticed across the food was that everything seemed a bit underseasoned - burger patty, sweet potato fries, and even the bit of salmon which I tried from someone else's dish. Could have done with a bit more salt for my taste. Service was decent, our waiter was friendly but you could also tell they were pretty busy in here. The Candied bacon... they should call it bacon candy because that's what it tasted like and I'm not mad at it. Most original candied bacon I can say that I've had. The Oven Roasted Teriyaki Chicken Wings were delicious as well and came with a very healthy portion. That's how wings should be served in my opinion ‍.
