    Stay away from this car lot.All they do is sell junk a**, cars and rip people off. They took advantage of my elderly parents.

Then came the classic line: "We just found out someone else put a deposit on it and we're waiting on their financing. You can put $5,000 down to hold it if it falls through." We weren't buying it. I told him plainly that we knew what was going on, shook his hand, and we walked out. In the end, it turned into a valuable lesson for our son.

They honored the quote they gave me online and I left with a check in under 2 hours.

    I'm giving CarMax one star due to the loan payoff and settlement timeline, which was not clearly…read moreemphasized upfront. To be fair, I was given a check immediately at the time of sale. The issue is the loan payoff process, which can take up to 15 business days on CarMax's side before funds are even sent. That does not include additional mail time or processing time by your bank or credit union. There is also no ACH or wire option to speed this up. In practice, this means the loan may not be cleared for three to four weeks. If you're selling a car specifically to clear a loan so you can qualify for another one, this delay can directly impact financing. You may also need to make additional loan payments out of pocket while waiting for reimbursement. While the extended timeline is mentioned in the fine print, it was described in person as taking "a few days," and the full impact of the payoff timing was not clearly called out. That difference matters when real financial decisions depend on it. The staff were polite and professional, but the lack of clear emphasis around the payoff process creates unnecessary risk for customers. My advice: read the fine print carefully and plan for a much longer timeline than what is suggested verbally.

I have not purchased my vehicle just yet due to being on the…read moreroad as a trucker but I most certainly put a small (the smallest) deposit down on my soon to be Chevy Silverado, and these guys have not played me once. They have held my refundable deposit and kept in touch with me to stay in touch which makes me even more positioned to buy this vehicle from Exem. I am a skeptic of buy here pay here places but this one has seemed to be a positive and pleasant place to work with. I have not felt forced to buy quickly nor have they tore into me about the remaining deposit (just inquired) and thats professionalism at its finest to me. I buy my cars straight out cash from owners and don't mind fixing them up if need be, but exem has me locked in especially as they do have nice vehicles again imo. Check em out. This is not a paid advertisement lol, it's just someone happy putting in their two cents.

I ended up with a 2012 Honda fit that was completely rotten underneath with rust throughout the entire undercarriage. Please stay away from this place and go anywhere else. They were hounding me for a 5 star review for days, hoping I wouldn't notice the damage before I left a review. If you're looking for a safe vehicle, this is not the place to go.
