Stay away!! Poor quality Poor workmanship Bad service I only went because the insurance company sent me there. Just look at all the other bad reviews! When they repaired my car the pinstripe on the side they repaired initially did not match the other side. Demonstrates poor quality control. They gave me a scratched rim when they replaced a damaged rim. Hard to get updates as to when car would be ready. Staff had "I do not care/ not my problem attitude" They told me they would repair some scratches on bumper and doors free of charge since I was giving them other work but did not repair. I initially asked them for the price and they said "free". They do not keep their word and cannot be trusted. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere for auto body repairs!!!! read more

The paint color was exact and they repaired my custom rims that now look brand new. Tom guaranteed the work and finished it in only 2 days, ahead of schedule! Car was struck, damaged front bumper, headlight assembly etc. Geico gave a list of body shops. I checked on-line reviews for several and with much trepidation selected Amwell Body in Hillsborough. The accident was Saturday and I booked appointment online for Monday 11 a.M. Geico agent, Patrick, apparently is on premise, as is Enterprise. I arrived at 11 and Tom wrote me up and I was out by 11:15 with rental car. Told car would be ready Thursday. There was minor delay due to parts, so they used Mercedes factory original bumper and headlight parts to expedite. I picked up the car two days after promised, but well worth the wait. Car looks perfect, immaculate in and out, no body shop smells. I consider myself a car guy, having owned many high end collectibles...kudos for job well done! read more

Had our car brought in for sand and paint. Hail damage was done by and outside vendor through Amwell Auto Body. Most of the hail was addressed. There were a few they missed. The paintwork had a lot of dirt in the paint. The windows were left open on the car when they buffed out the car. The buffing compound was in the cloth seats. They were cleaned at my expense for the 2nd time and two spots did not come out. I am very dissatisfied with the quality. We paid to have the hood and lower rocker painted. Found dirt in both. The insurance work was done with also dirt in paint. The car was brought to a Honda dealer and they advised the work was just poor quality. They looked at other paint work that they advised is out of warranty so I am taking it once again to another body shop to have them paint the rear deck and roof. The paint is separating from the primer. It should have been addressed by Amwell but they said it would be to expensive and now it has to be done. They overlap paint so it would not have been as costly and they get paid by the panel so it was to their advantage and not the consumer to do piece work when it should have been addressed at the time they did the work. So I have learned a valuable lesson at my expense. If I could have had the work done by Gino's Auto Body it would have been brought to them first but State Farm said they use Amwell Auto Body for their Insurance work. read more

Brought my car in for an oil change. They told me I needed a cabin filter. I declined, having had a new one installed with the last oil change. They jammed my clean filter back in behind the glove box. It was wedged in the glove box hinge which broke when I tried, unsuccessfully, to open the glove box. I was able to pull my original clean filter out but the hinge is now bent. Should cost a bit to replace or ride around with an open glove box. Don't use these people. read more

GEICO quoted $1200. The shop kept the car for over a month and the damage then told me it over $5000. Ever since then, there was a rattling in the front car, when I called them about they said it was the sway bar and that I'd have to call GEICO to add it to claim. Furious, I contacted the dealership and they found nothing wrong with the front end. There were tools left in the area between the bumper and engine compartment. Not to mention that they weren't able to charge my air conditioning unit until a couple weeks later after getting a vehicle back because the machine was broken. My AC still doesn't work and had to take it to the dealership. read more

Good for nothing auto body shop. My car has been sitting in that place for 2 weeks. Turns out that the adjuster from my insurance had been on vacation for a week and nobody followed up with my claim. The body shop sent in the claim and it was denied. Fact of the matter is not Geico or Amwell body shop reached out to me to tell me the status of my car or claim. After calling because my car had been in shop for two weeks I talk to this man who sounded strung out on the phone telling me my claim had been denied and also lying to me telling me that my car had been worked on. For 2 weeks my car had been sitting collecting dust with no fix. Moral of the story is the company is poor with communication and do not bring your car here unless you don't care about it. Do not listen to a referral from an insurance company. read more

Stay clear of this business. For convenience I took my car to Amwell Auto Body using Geico Express. After dropping my car off and arriving home, I was told they would not work on my vehicle due to mechanical damage they erroneously considered unrelated to the accident. This would require taking another day off of work, taking my car to a mechanic, then taking it back to them. Convenient right? So I had it towed from their shop to a very reputable shop close to my house (not a Geico Express member). At this point my car is being repaired by honest, caring, and capable specialists at Washington Collision Center. (Their response to my situation was "get the car here; we'll take care of it.) This experience has exposed me to the dark underbelly of collision repair. It seems many shops are shady at best or down right incompetent and unethical at worst. There are some good ones out there but you have do your homework. Last point: I don't write reviews. If fact this is my first one ever. But my experience with Amwell was so egregiously bad that I had to say something. (Tom: If you're reading this, take a ride up to Washington Collision and ask them if you can shadow them for day or two and see how it's supposed to be done.) read more

My white Toyota Highlander had a large dent on the passenger side so I stopped by amwell autobody on the way home from work. Gordon came out to take a look at the issue. He was polite and friendly. Worked on it and he was able to do a great job in fixing it! Very efficient and customer centric. Others in my area have raved about the workmanship of Amwell as well. Just picked up my car and here are my observations: The women behind the counter, I think her name is Pat, has the worst and most unprofessional attitude. While I was disputing the bill(more on that later) she made comments such as "I've been doing this for longer than you" "not today, I can't deal with this today" while holding her temples. Rolling her eyes and generally just being rude. The bill: Original estimate was for ~$3500 which included the replacement of one wheel and one tire. My plan was to have it done at the dealership. Total cost ~$800. The check they gave me for the difference of the estimate and the work performed was for $410. For 15 minutes straight she was insulting me for not "understanding" how the cost of the tire and wheel replacement became $410 instead of $800. The car is leased and had no choice but have the check sent to Audi who in turn mailed to the shop. All said and done, I'm out of $400 and the choice I have is to let it go or spend thousands recovering that $400. As far as the work quality, there is a screw in my front tire(barely scraped, it's new), missing a few bolts from the fender liner, headlight washer cap crooked and had to have the new paint wet sanded again to remove the horrible orange peel. Kind of funny that the estimator told me its a must that they blend the new paint onto the existing panel because otherwise it won't look right. Had a problem with my car and this place was recommended by my insurance company. I recently visited to obtain an estimate for a job in which I needed done and I was not well received from the introduction. The gentleman working the counter appear to be very other by my presence and when he finally asked what I needed I replied, "I am here to get an estimate." He replied, "I have to finish the estimate that I am working on." I expressed to the gentleman that I would return later and he suggested that I make an appointment. I did not make an appointment because I had no intentions of returning there and when I looked up the reviews my thought was if I would have looked at this before I could have saved myself some time. Very helpful staff, answered all my questions while the estimate was being written. Once the car came into the shop for repairs I was called and updated on the status just about every other day. Best part was when my car was completed (earlier then promised) the inside and outside were detailed and the workmanship was second to none! I went this morning thinking I was going to a FIRESTONE. I am a member at FIRESTONE so I trusted what I was walking into. Turns out they are false advertising and are NOT a FIRESTONE. The employees working at the front desk did not address me when I first walked in so I had a seat. They were speaking inappropriately, I tuned them out the best I could. When I was called up, I told the employee at the front desk I was there for a "break inspection." He told me they could have this done for me by 2 PM, this was at 7:30 AM. He asked me if I had an apt. and I said "I called yesterday to make an apt. and you said we do not make apts" hence the reason I was at the store by 7:30 AM. I sat in the lobby until 11 AM. At 11 AM the manager brought me back to my car, which had all of the tires removed. He told me my car would need all new breaks and break pads, bringing my total to $1K. Ironically he only showed me the break that I thought was the issue. He did not show me all other breaks so it is still unknown to me if it was really necessary today. Seeing this brought me to tears as I had not planned for this, but merely a break inspection. I asked if he could write my quote with all necessary repair needs so I could go home and discuss the needs with my significant other. He told me at that time that my car could not be put back together unless I had the service done. I felt extremely pressured and that I had no choice but to have the service done. Following the maintenance the manager did not show me the work that was done so I am unsure if the parts that were put into my car were new. I will NEVER go back to this location for car maintenance!
