No idea why this place has 3 stars, because it is affordable, delicious, and the customer service is great. The staff provided bread for my toddler son while we waited for our 2 sandwiches. I waited for my fiance to get home, so we could eat them together, and the bread was still crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I got a vegetable one (if you want extra anything, there is a small charge) and it was soooo good. The secret sauce is awesome. Parking is easy! The inside is kind of dark and chaotic, with tons of photos all across the walls.

3% credit cards fees so bring cash if you do not want to pay extra fees. Do not expect high customer services and you will be okay! They need the 3% fees sign in a stand-up position because it's hard for short people like me to see (lol). Menu of most items did not have prices listed at all so just order and pay whatever their latest prices are. I don't like that. I'd like to see how much I'm paying for my food. Worst of all- they have decors blocking view of the menu so it felt overwhelming being new there unless you already know what you want. $14 Bun Bo Hue. I don't recommend it here. Meats didn't taste fresh but dry. They don't serve extra side vegetables like bananas flowers etc. What you see in the bowl is what you get. I won't order again. $7.85 for BBQ Pork/Xa Xiu Bánh Mi. Their bread tasted fresh and crunchy but so little amount of meats! It's less than $3 for a lb of pork yet you get just a few pieces in the sandwich paying almost $8! Meats tasted marinated and delicious but goodness so little! $7.85 BBQ Beef. It tasted delicious if you like lemongrass. Sandwich tasted clean and freshly crunchy soft bread. I'd order this again. But again, please more meats? If you like a little of fatty meats with shredded chicken - Lynda Special/Banh Mi Dac Biet is for you. It's pretty popular. Beautiful decors and many pictures of Vietnamese singers on the "wall of fame".:) I don't know them though. I saw them when my grandparents watched Paris by Night. Staff is typical like most Vietnamese places. Walk in, place order, pay, get your food, eat, leave. I don't have high expectations for services at most Vietnamese restaurants. Parking is plenty but wild drivers out there. It's inside a shopping plaza so be careful!

Great food here! The bahn mi sandwiches were made with quality items. Service was friendly and efficient. The place is a cozy warm cafe style restaurant. Apparently started by a famous Vietnamese singing star.

Our NorCal cousin heard about this place from a friend in Maui. I got the Lynda Special sandwich and a Blended Ice Milk Coffee. The bread was excellent, and it was made to my specifications (no onions, light on the jalapeno). I always enjoy Cafe Sua Da. Hubby ordered the Beef Stew Plate. Given the choice of noodles or baguette, he wisely chose the baguette. Great for sopping up the stew broth. Very flavorful, with fresh basil leaves. We also bought a bag of caramel cookies. Nice and crunchy. The place is small, but there is outdoor seating as well. Lots of parking is the shopping center.

The place has been here for ages and everything looks the same as beginning (same small changes) so everything going here, flashback of the 90s-00s, of the good oldies days. Got both inside and outside seating area and quite nice setup too. Funky decor but with great vibe. Service is nice and friendly, something can be slow but majority are wonderful. They have plenty of dishes choices but was here for sandwich, which still the same as before so very consistently and not bad at all. Meat portion is quite generous and tasty too. Overall consistency and friendly service with decent prices.

Big shoutout to the documentary "New Wave" by Elizabeth Ai which covers the history of Vietnamese New Wave. In addition to cover the 80s grooves and fashion, the film highlighted a period of generational and cultural divide within families and neighborhoods. It was one of the few screenings at the LA Asian Pacific Film Festival that left an impression. Many icons from that era were interviewed in the film, including Lynda Trang Dai who is the namesake of this sandwich shop. Some were dining al fresco in the blistering sunshine while the majority of the patrons dined in the cool AC. The interior of the shop was playing loungey light music, with one wall covered in portraits of New Wave stars and another with orange wallpaper with past icons in film and music. Both inside and out had plants and flowers that add to the cozy atmosphere. I got the Lynda Special which by paying with card was a little over $8. Flavorful and toasty buns, there was a good variety of cold cuts, shredded chicken, cucumbers, pickled veggies, and the special sauce. The shredded chicken was ok, while the sauce itself was creamy and well seasoned. While I still have other favorites for banh mi, this place does their sandwiches justice enough to stop by next time.

*** 3% surcharge on using credit cards *** Lynda Sandwich is opened by 90's star Lynda Trang Dai aka the Vietnamese Madonna and the Vietnamese sandwich (banh mi) shop was featured in 2024 documentary 'New Wave'. The sandwich shop was empty when I came here at 6 PM on Sunday. [Parking]: Easy parking as the shop shares the same large plaza as Shun Fat Westminster Superstore. [Atmosphere]: Unique interior decor with a wall of celebrity pictures. [Menu]: According to an NPR article ( https://www.npr.org/sections/thesalt/2015/10/31/453152297/how-vietnam-s-version-of-madonna-became-a-california-sandwich-maven ), the owner is the only one who prepares the special Lynda Sauce. The top two popular orders are Lynda Special Sandwich and beignet. Beignet comes with three flavors - original, caramel, and cinnamon. *** Beignet (original - $6): I didn't know about three different flavors for beignet and the cashier didn't bother explaining the menu so I assume these beignet I got were original flavor. To my surprise, these small bites were quite good and had more than enough portion for one person to finish! Crispy exterior and not overwhelming sweet. I actually like this dessert better than banh mi. Grilled Shredded Chicken Sandwich (Lynda homemade sauce and some vegetables including cucumber, Vietnamese pickles, jalapenos, onion, and cilantro - $7.50): Nothing special and tasted pretty mediocre. *** While I dig the overall vibe of this sandwich shop and beignet, it was hard to get excited about banh mi. Come for ambiance but lower expectation on banh mi.

Heard great things about Lynda's. Shop was super cute with abundant decor. I got the đặc biệt/ house special. It was solid! I was surprised because mine had some fried onions. The sauce was good and the bread was very good. Next time I'll get extra pate cuz it was a little dry. Came out to a little over $8.

I loved everything I got!! I got the nem nuong spring roll and it had THICK pieces of pork and I loved the crunch from the rolled up crispy egg roll wrapper. The orange sauce paired perfectly with it. I absolutely love their home made mayo as well. I was throughly enjoying every single bite I would totally come here again.

I finally made it here after hearing about it for years. I didn't want to go with a basic sandwich, I mean, this is Lynda's restaurant after all. So I ordered the fried egg and sausage sandwich. First, let's talk about the bread. It's toasted. It's got that light springiness that only comes with fresh bread. The bread is crispy with a soft center. It won't leave your mouth bleeding like the bread at Lee's. The garlic mayo is amazing with the fried egg. I may have screwed myself over by ordering this sandwich because, as they say, once you go fried egg you ain't go back. No, no one really says that but me. Yeah, I'll never be able to order any other sandwich. The decor is very nice and friendly. I'd love to sit around if I have time. Service is very professional and friendly. I'll try the desserts on my next visit. Beignet looks amazing!

We saw this spot on a documentary called New Wave Documentary where Lynda was one of the main stars and her restaurant Lynda Sandwich was highlighted so we decided to stop by when we were in the area! The restaurant is quirky and loungey with different styles of seating set around. Gives that coffee shop vibes. There's a wall adorned with old photos of Lynda throughout her singing career. We ordered the the Lynda Special ($7.25) which is her dac biet banh mi. It is a skinny baguette as well which I don't mind because it's easier to eat while on the go. It was a unique take on 'dac biet' with some cold meat, some shredded meat, and pickled radish, jalapenos, and some cucumbers. I do which they had more plentiful fillings but it was still a good amount. The star of the sandwich was the special mayo they use. It was delicious and brought the whole sandwich together. I basically forgot there wasn't pate in there because that mayo was so delicious.

    Lynda Special Sandwich

I am obsessed with this place. Their banh mi's are delicious. I think my favorite banh mi's that I've ever had. They are also the perfect size so not too big or too small. I tell everyone about this place because it's so good!!!

    Dida N.

A friend recommended Lynda Sandwich, so I stopped by to try their Banh Mi Ga. While the service was unfriendly and the wait was longer than expected, the banh mi itself was fine. The interior is fun and filled with beautiful art. It's a nice spot for a quick bite!

I came to try Ike's because I let one of their workers go ahead of me in line at the market. He described a few of the sandwiches and I was intrigued. Nice job! It's a pulled chicken sandwich that is absolutely delicious--honestly, it's the most unique "actual" sandwich you can get in the area. The Perfect Order: * The Build: You have to get it on Dutch Crunch bread with no tomato. * The Flavor: The Dutch Crunch is amazing, especially with the honey on it. The sandwich itself is almost like a chicken sloppy joe--it's bomb. * The Perks: I love that they still include those little caramel apple suckers with the order. It's a signature touch that I hope they never stop doing. * Rewards: Their point system is very favorable. I frequently get free drinks, chips, or discounts on my sandwiches. The Critiques: * Ingredients: Like a few other spots, this one makes me feel a bit "off" afterward. Since the meat is tossed in sauce and they add more to the bread, I suspect there might be some MSG involved. * Pricing: Things are getting expensive across the board, and I feel like most places--this one included--are overcharging by about $3. Five stars would only be achievable if the pricing was more reasonable. Final Thoughts: Despite the price and the "food coma" afterward, the #111 is too good to pass up. It's a solid four-star experience every time.

I know Cheez Whiz is not for everyone, since it has a very unique flavor and texture compared with something like American or provolone. Thankfully, Philly's Best provides that option when you want a Philly cheesesteak, and you can even mix and match multiple cheeses. One thing I like to do is mix provolone with Cheez Whiz for a unique, more Philly-style taste. Otherwise, I think the cheesesteak is fine in terms of the meat, bread, and cheese combination, but I do not think it tastes as good or as fresh as Jersey Mike's or several other local places that offer hot Philly cheesesteak sandwiches. That said, I like going to Philly's Best when I am specifically looking for that Cheez Whiz taste, and that is honestly the main reason I would recommend going here.

It was a late lunch so I called to see if a reservation is needed for 2 ppl. Not at all so we jumped into the car. Such a wonderful restaurant in an unassuming plaza. Lots of parking. There's an outdoor seating area and a good size restaurant inside. We were greeted as we walked in. Btw, the HUGE glass door entrance, I love. There Were a few open tables and we were welcome to sit where we wanted to. Two classes of water were brought to the table and a waiter came with the menu. My mom is vegetarian and I am not. I asked the waiter for his vegetarian dishes and he provided me a pasta dish. That was exactly what my Mom was wanting. Linguine with a light pink sauce with mushrooms and you can add zucchini, bell pepper and broccoli. I ordered a sangria. That was just amazing itself. And a linguine dish with shrimp. Warm, sliced French bread and a small dish of butter was brought out first that was so good. Usually the bread and butter that is brought at small restaurants like these could be just mediocre or not good at all. This was warm and just tasty. We also ordered a Caprese. The plate came out with big chunks of mozzarella tomatoes, and both were sitting on a marinated pesto covered set of basil leaves. That was so good. The combination of the vinaigrette, mozzarella basil tomato pesto was exactly what we were looking for so refreshing. Our entrées were huge for $20 a plate. We had to take 3/4 of it home.
