Was debating weather to go here or not since I had their banh min from their original location several back when they just opened. Te parking is fine with plenty spaces in the morning. The service is good, the lady was n or and friendly and the teenager was fine for the money collection. The place is most for to go but have window high chairs and the place was clean and tidy. Variety type of banh mi, plus drinks and snacks. Easy ordered and simi fast turnaround, I ordered bbq pork banh mi and their pate chau (pork too). The pate chau was good, tasty and 3 for $4, which is okey for the size. The banh mi is well packed and was crunchy outside (if you eat it right away but if you leave it for couple hrs later, then it just soaky from the sauce and the weather. The meats portion is big (not sure if it's bbq since it's white) is bland and tasteless...not appealing at all. The veggies are great and a lot too. No frills! Ambiance - as mentioned, sit down in one of their chairs, but don't expect this to be an ambiance based dining. It is fast food. The grilled pork sandwich was bland but meats was abundant. Veggies were chopped tiny and the cucumber was soggy and limp. This was simply awesome on many levels. The menu options were varied and they had me at Sardines and Head Cheese when I walked in. But my gold standard is the "cold cut" Banh Mi I had from a passing street vendor in Ho Chi Minh City for $0.90 USD that still haunts my foodie wet dreams. The one I got from here was just as good minus the sweltering heat, motorbike exhaust, and flies swarming the room temperature pate'. This is buried in the back of a strip mall spot that has plenty of popular businesses in Westminster. Instead of contending with flies swarming, you will contend with traffic circling for an open parking spot in the private lot. And, although every sandwich here is $6.75 (without exceptional add ons), in this age of inflation, that is a bargain considering a Banh Mi in my hometown of Minneapolis can't be had for less than a sawbuck. For that price, I walked out of this place with a freshly made, more than tasty sandwich that was about the size of my forearm. It was about 25% larger than most I take down in Anytown, USA. Kudos to them for their generous portions since in my book, size matters. I was also impressed with the ultra-clean presentation of the place. It was a spotless setup with professional baking ovens on the premises and a visible assembly area at the front counter so you can watch your food missile being made from oven cooling rack straight into your pie hole. In Vietnam, I got to watch it come from under the woman's bicycle seat and onto a discolored, well-used cutting board that probably had last been cleaned when Uncle Ho was a child. I much prefer the circumstances and appreciate the cleanliness of BMS 168! If I have to be critical of anything, it would be that they did not have all of their ingredients available on my visit (they did not have Sardines available). They had some fantastic options for fillings on the menu but I settled for their classic "Saigon Special" with an add-on egg. What I got was a generous portion of a lot of tasty cold cuts and pate' inside a crunchy but soft baguette with a spread of pate' and margarine-like mayo and lots of pickles, chilies and cilantro. The gratuitous egg was just beyond over easy so it was a bit soft but not runny. The warm, soft texture of the egg really pulled the entire thing together! I really have nothing much in the way of criticism here. I have read some of the reviews with low ratings here and I would have to say that my experience was exactly the opposite of those. To make it even better, I visited about 20 minutes before they closed for the night so if there were going to be shortcuts or issues, i was at risk for experiencing them and I did not. Kudos to them for a great performance just before closing. I look forward to my next opportunity to take down one of their fantastic sandwiches! read more

They have the same buy two get one free Banh Mi deal. The Banh Mi here has a lot more ingredients and tastes more juicy than Banh Mi Che Cali. The sandwiches here are about $1 more per sandwich, but it is worth it. The Banh Mi Che Cali sandwiches recently tastes very dry and lacks ingredients. They should put more mayo and/or pate. Popped in spontaneously for a banh mi craving. $7 banh mi woohoo. Got the first combo one which came out pretty fast. They also have a variety of desserts on the counter and cut it in half for us. Wrapping/packaging standard. Baguette is less chewy and breadier than other places, the inside filling is quite buttery but flavors are neutral to my tastebuds. I think im used to more textural/flavor differences in the cold cuts, but it was solid. The jalapeños didn't spice my tongue. Overall, budget friendly, fast service. The banh mi's are good. The baguettes here are my favorite because the bread is still soft after keeping it in the fridge. However the service here sucks. I went around 7 pm so the store was empty; it was me, the younger lady taking my order, and the old aunty making the sandwiches. I order the pork roll with no pate and the older aunty making my sandwich was loudly complaining about how people shouldn't modify their sandwiches and called me a picky eater because I didn't want pate. One of my top banh mi places to go, and I am pretty picky. The baguette is crisp and airy! I ordered the wrong banh mi but was still happy with it. The baguettes are long, and they do not skimp on the meat. I could not finish the entire banh mi in one sitting. The only thing to note is that the employees there most likely do not speak English as their first language, even if they look young, so be patient! Speak clearly and keep it simple. This banh mi place is just alright in my opinion, but maybe I just came in on a bad day. My go to is usually a banh mi heo quay whenever I get banh mi. I got their fried pork banh mi to try, but I wasn't too happy with how soggy and oily my sandwich was when I unwrapped it. My mom and I ate it anyways, not thinking much of it. But we both had a pretty bad stomachache an hour after, and that banh mi was all we ate that day! Their Viet coffee was good though, but it wasn't filled all the way up. I would come again if I was in the plaza to try a different banh mi, but I wouldn't recommend the crispy pork one because it was just really unappetizing and not crispy, and just way too oily. read more

Like most banh mi shops, this is largely a take out spot with a small counter space where you can stand and eat. I wish they added a couple of stools, but I don't really mind standing either. I always get the Saigon Special (Thit Nguoi). Their sandwich comes with the normal fixings including pickled daikon radish and carrots, cucumbers, cilantro, jalapeño peppers, and mayo. Where they differ from other places is a house special sauce that is added to all their banh mi. I usually ask for it without that since I feel like it makes my banh mi soggy without adding much flavor, even though the staff will always object and tell me that my banh mi will be bland. This is my current go to spot for banh mi because the portions are good. There is a generous amount of meat without overstuffing, and I like how the meat is thinly sliced. My only complaint is that there is some variability in their bread. Sometimes it seems like it's old bread that is baked again, but it's great when it's fresh. read more
