I always make sure I am at least 2hr before close. When I walk in and they ask what I am having done- I will ask "do we have time for a full set Ombre and pedicure? " And they (usually the lady owner) always say YES! I am in Pedicure chair not 10min, "relaxing" hen a younger girl in her (Gilligan's Island) hat comes LITERALLY rushing over to me, with a hand drill and tells me to turn by body in an awkward position so she can start nails while my feet are hanging over to the opposite side and she's piling in layers of polish. Real "relaxing!" Getting a Charley horse in the flank area now, as she proceeds to ask how long and cut off- still in Pedi chair. That sucked bc she went short and filed short-er. They finally tell me to go sit at nail station. The older lady is flying past me with her coat. Still 1.5hr open. Gilligan is now under her desk, asking me for my feet to do additional clear coat. Spoiler alert! Toes messy, doesn't meet cuticle and goopy, sloppy dry. I ask for a whole repolish before I am paying. A guy, he understood the very simple assignment just fine. Gilligan confirms I want pink and white Ombre. She hands me a book. Now, I will admit that my previous nail folks just knew me/my style, I have gotten Ombre since (2019) before it was even ombre! So I never had to choose anything, shades of pink, etc. I didn't want to choose wrong. Didn't matter bc she proceeded to cover the whole nail in the pink gel powder. Then white gel powder layer OVER THE PINK. This gives big, chunky nails, bc it is NOT ombre! Ombre is a SKILLED SERVICE, mesh the colors together. This is not paint with watercolors! I am so tired of these places cheapening service now bc it's just an era for nails right now. Charge extra fees and try to dress up the BASIC services you are actually getting! And don't tell me you have time for services and then have your employees running around the room and bombarding me while I sit in my "relaxing spa and massage chair!" And the reviews all day the same about the prices and the way they bill/treat customers- so I will just end my rant. Jus saying "CONVIENENCE FEE?! $3?!""SHAPING $5 ?! I have been here before in l their old location two doors down. The new space is very nice. Now they have switched mail polishes and I wanted regular Polish with a regular manicure. Tech was very nice! The problem is the new polish. At less than 24 hours after my manicure my nails are chipping. I've never had that happen before. Bring your own polish for best results! read more

I asked upon arrival what the cost would be. When I got to the register it was almost double. The service was rushed and I had to redo the polish and buffing at home myself. The technician was borderline hostile. I thanked her and tipped her anyway, but I won't be going back. There are many other nail salons in the area so I will go to one of them. And not a little chip here or there but like half the nail chipped off. Most salons I've been to guarantee their work regardless of whether it's a gel manicure or not-not this salon. went in as a walk in to get a fill for a set from another place that was falling off already after a week. I asked for a fill on an acrylic set and as soon as i sat down the lady started picking them all off. I didn't say anything at the time because i assumed she was just redoing them to be nice since they were bad. Also a full set was only $15 less than a fill so i wasnt worried if they charged me extra. However, i was charged $55 for a full set, $12 for french tips, $5 for shape, $6 additional charge, plus a $3 convenience fee. Make sure they tell you all of the fine print before you start your service otherwise you'll have $81 down the drain before you know it. And the lady didn't even ask for the length i wanted so now i have short stubby nails. what a joke. read more

Ick....ick...ick....describes this place. It is very dingy and seriously needs an update. You think Bay Shore and luxury comes to mind. However, this is NOT your experience. There are chairs with cracked leather, tables with missing parts and a pedicure drying table that could take out your toes. When you see them using tub liners for pedicures because it is "more sanitary" it means they don't want to clean much. The liners feel very weird on your toes. The chairs are decent but get rid of the liners! I had a pedicure and they put me under the feet dryer. Unfortunately they had an office chair sitting near with the legs underneath the dryer. I bumped my toes on it because the drying area was so small. They did fix my nails but seriously WTF? If this place was dirt cheap I might understand it but they charge the same price as other places that are much nicer. I have gone twice. Both times I got a shellac pedicure and a dip manicure. Pedicure was fine. First time dip mani was clumpy and she added way too many coats. When it was time to remove it the next time they didn't even start trying to soak it off until I was sitting down for my manicure and then it took forever because the dip was too heavily applied. This dip manicure I have received the second time has been horrible quality. It has cracked off and started to peel. Nice people but we pay too much money for such bad quality and unprofessional work. I won't be back. read more

Not sure what's up with the haters! My daughter (she is 5) and I came in today. The salon is clean and the chairs seem new. She got the "princess mani/pedi" specifically designed for kids, and I got a pedi (I figured her patience wasn't going to last long enough for me to do both too). Our nails look great, and my technician was both thorough yet efficient, which I appreciated. My daughter's technician was also really kind and patient with her even when she started getting a little bouncy and talkative toward the end. The vibe is like your standard, higher-end nail salon situation. What more could you want? read more

Very clean salon, but just went for a pedicure and felt so rushed--not very relaxing. For the price you pay, $50+, for a relaxing treatment, it should last longer than 20 minutes. Then once they are done they rush you to the front to pay while your toes are still went causing for smudges. They went so fast they didn't even smooth out my feet after filing, they are more rough now than they were when I went in. Probably will not be back to this salon, there are better salons in the area that actually care about their clients. read more

I hate to leave this review. I've gone to LyLy for 3 years but their service is God awful now. My last couple of services have been alright, which can happen, but this one took the cake and took my future business elsewhere. I went for a manicure and pedicure- I'll spare you the pictures of my feet, because no one needs to see that. For a $74 service it looks like my 10 year old asked to paint my nails and I hate to say that, but if I can save someone else's time and money, then okay. Here's the just: the technician was clearly not happy to be at work. Sighing and puffing, irritated, etc. My feet were barely scrubbed and I think we all can agree that, that's an essential part of a pedicure. I didn't say anything, I have a pumice stone at home. When it came to my gel manicure she was just horrid. She just hacked my nails off, no shape to them, and all different lengths. I asked if they could please match and she signed heavily. When she finished I looked down and saw the the nails were incredibly streaky, and for a dark red color that should never happen. I asked for a 3rd coat and she rolled her eyes and snapped, "really? I already did the top coat." And she got up from her chair, which was super uncomfortable. A technician close by took pity and came over to look and asked her if I could possibly get another coat. My tech came back angry and said, "fine, I'll do it!" Long story short, my 3 years as a patron of LyLy are over. read more

One of my toes had chipped from my pedicure I had gotten yesterday which was a little disappointing so I went back today to see if they could help me out since they had done a wonderful job on my acrylic set. I had been coming to this salon for YEEEARS, since 2017. For the first time in July 2020 a tech they call Mia, tried to accuse me of not paying for my pedicure. After showing her and the manager my receipt multiple times, Mia still didn't let it go. Even as I was waiting for my nails to dry she was still shouting around that I didn't pay. It had gotten so bad that another tech, Hayden that was filling in for the manager that day, had to tell her to stop questioning me. When I went back to the salon the first week of August, to get a fill and a color change on my feet Mia rushed up to me and said she would be doing my services. I didn't think anything of it because the past is the past. But she was so rude to me and she purposely did a poor job. The cuticle oil she used was everywhere on me by the time I left because she put so much and she poorly painted my nails. Then when it was time to pay she charged me ridiculous amounts for everything! Like I said I had been coming here for years and never spent this much. When I questioned her about it, she just continued to shout to the manager, Tiffany and show me their pricing sheet. After this I will never be returning to Lyly bayshore. I USED to love coming here. But had a really bad experience. The guy who did my nails was just a jerk. He bent my fingers in really uncomfortable ways. When I told him it hurt, he would let go for a minute or two, then go right back to his death grip. Lol he was filling WAY too rough with the drill. My nails were getting hot. Again, told him so, he would stop, then go right back to it. I picked a polish color, and he started painting my nails with the wrong color! When I told him so, he got ARGUMENTATIVE. Lyly's used to be great but now it's extremely hit or miss. Last time I got my nails done there my manicurist was using his NAIL as an orange stick to push my cuticles back. His pointer finger was literally filed into a super pointy nail to use as a tool. SICK. Also I find it annoying that they constantly are switching manicurists throughout the service. This was my first time getting a pedicure from Ly Ly Nails and it was the WORST! I paid for a deluxe pedi and it was completed like a regular pedicure. Note: I have gotten pedicures at other places and they took the time to give me what I paid for - this place did not do that. I told the girl that I was not satisfied and that she needed to take more time to clean up my feet. She went and got (I assume the manager/owner) and she told me that I needed to go to the foot doctor. What! who says that. She did not look at my feet to see what I was referring to, she did nothing. This was not the correct way to handle this situation. Terrible customer service - the worst. They get a complete thumbs down. They received one star because I had to click one of the stars. Ok. This nail salon is a little less than average, and for the price it definitely deserves 2 stars. Let's talk logistics. Interior: I appreciate the festive vibe they were trying to throw off (excellent Christmas tunes) but the decorations had a really just-thrown-together feel, and the place didn't really promote a relaxing feel. Plus the child of one of the workers running around, then coming out if the bathroom bare bummed, was a little weird and again, distracting from the point of a nail salon: to relax and get pampered. The nail tech: she was ok, pleasant and nice, but I wasn't in the mood to talk, just relax. She showed me the different kinds of pedicures, and sorry but isn't removing callouses part if the reason to get a pedicure!? It was $40 as opposed to $29. And she asked me like 4 times if I wanted the other one, I was pretty clearly when I said no the first two times. And during the pedi it drives me insane when they splash the water all over you, hello I just showered before coming here, don't need another right now. And then, during my shellac mani, she snorted snot onto my hand. That's just gross. The equipment: the shellac nail dryer looked like it had been through hell and back....twice. There was sticky stuff on the side, and the outside was covered in yellow stains (the pieces themselves were white). Don't you clean your equipment between customer use or long term storage? As for the mani/pedi itself: she had to fix 3 fingers 2 different times, and from a distance it looks good, but up close it looks sloppy, not what you'd expect from an Asian nail salon (in my experience, those kind are the best). Pedi is nothing to be crazy over either. All in all the only reason I gave this place 2 stars in because the nail tech was nice. And the only reason I went here was because it was closer to me (the one I've been to at Mayfair was exceptional, and next time, I will be going there). I had a pedicure and gel manicure at Lyly this past week. I thought the pedicure was very relaxing and the massage was longer than most other places I've been too. However their most basic pedicure will cost you 29 dollars. Now the gel manicure I was not as impressed. I was charged 40 dollars and I noticed that one of my nails has a bump on it and is not smooth! I would go back for another pedicure but would like to find a new place for manicures. read more

Customer SERVICE training is DESPERATELY needed. It is EXTREMELY rude to not acknowledge customers, then have them waiting for a really long time without saying ANYTHING. Even just a simple SMILE or HELLO can go a long way. Then when you tell someone there's no wait, sit them at a station, making them wait as you either stare at them or stare at them WHILE you watch another coworker doodle on random loose nails in a container at their station. Say SOMETHING! If there was a wait, SAY THAT. If ANYTHING may have caused a delay, SAY THAT. Lack of communication can EASILY come across as RUDE and IGNORANT. I never write reviews but this was so bad I had to. this service was so rushed and half the nails are all different shapes, my cuticles were barely cleaned and fixed and the paint is not consistent down to cuticles. I was done in less than 30 minutes. For a manicure??? I'd understand a polish change but I did a full manicure for over $40 that was done so quickly and underwhelming. Not to mention no one even smiles or is friendly. I will not be back. I go to Lyly over near brown deer and port Washington rd. I ended up staying until after close to get my nails done. The lady who did my nails was sniffling and coughing in my face, it was very unprofessional. They dont tell you the price of things until they start working on your nails which forces you to go along with the pricing. Every time i go, my price is different and i get the same thing every time. I ran into an issue where ALL off my gel nail polish came off (which has never happened) and they said "sorry, we can repaint but there's a charge".--Tifffany (owner).
