Very quick (too quick if you ask me). the massage component is two taps on the bottom of your feet and 2 taps on the side of your leg...THAT'S IT! I did a pedicure here twice thinking maybe I just got a bad person. 2 different people, same 2 taps. The nails came out fine, but for $30 it was not worth it. Fill in: $20 +$5 to file down for length. She cut me 3 times and you can see where the old acrylic line is. NOT WORTH IT! Reservation: Throughout the call to make a reservation I asked 4 times what the price would be and the lady I was speaking to just continued the conversation as though she hadn't heard me, asking me for my number and time I would like. At the end I asked again and she hung up on me. Rude. NOT cheap. This is definitely my best nail experience in DC. Service was excellent. The massage with the mani-pedi was a real massage. My skin feels so much better. They also didn't rush my friend and I at all, so we really relaxed in the massage chairs. It was super affordable and I received a lot more care than at similarly priced places. It was very clean, too. My friend knows a lot more about nail salons than I, especially in terms of eviromental/health issues. She was really impressed because she had been looking for a "healthy nail" salon while in DC. She pointed out that everything they used was far healthier, environmentally sound and more hygienic than what is in most salons. The only other healthy nail place she had found while in DC charges about twice as much. Sadly, she is moving tomorrow, but I am definitely coming back and bringing others. read more

Literally my first time going and won't be my last! It's super cheap for the quality, I got a pedicure which was really a massage treatment for my legs, back, and feet. She noticed I had discoloration on my toe nails told me how to prevent it and then got rid of it all for $25. I had always driven past this (newish?) place on my way home while riding the #42 bus, but never made the effort to stop in until today. I'm really glad that I did. Colors: Great selection of OPI and Essie, as well as some other brands of polish - you should be able to find anything you like here, from classic pale shades to dark reds to bright fluorescent colors. Pedicure ($18 during the "anniversary special," usually $20...as a mani/pedi during the "anniversary special," you pay just $28): The massage chairs here are amazing. Honestly, I would have paid $18 just to sit in the chair while its three settings "rolled," "kneaded," and "compressed" the kinks out of my back. I was totally relaxed. All-in-all, they did a great job (and took their time, which I appreciated - and, of course, let me linger in the chair of fabulousness...). The dark brownish-red that I chose has a perfect finish. My only complaint = it's a pet peeve of mine when the polish doesn't go all the way to the edge of the nail, and that was true of a few toes (and a few fingers as well). Manicure ($12, or mani/pedi for $28 during the "anniversary special"): Again, they were very attentive and took their time. My cuticles weren't nipped in a bad way at all, and my nails were filed perfectly. Again, some nails didn't get perfect coverage, but nothing that'd be noticeable to anyone but me. Eyebrows ($7): I was really in a bind with my brows, so this quick/cheap option (AND a place open on Sunday!) was actually what brought me here. I'm generally more discerning with my brows and have found some favorite spots that are meticulous...but I just needed a quick clean-up, and that's what I got here. Not a lot of studying my arch shape or anything like that - pretty fast, and not much tweezer work (but I can take care of that by myself). If you just need something to make you look put-together, this will be fine place to go - but if you really want designer eyebrows, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. Still, can't beat the price! Overall: Easy to walk in and get service immediately. They play E! on television (so they get some sort of award for simultaneously allowing me to read a book in peace during the pedicure, but distracting me with "The Girls Next Door" at the same time). This place was really bad, she cut my toe while giving me a pedi, me and my sister also showed them pictures of the design we wanted on our full sets, and they both did the complete opposite, looked no where near the pictures, they decided on them selves to do a complete different color wave. I've been here for mani/pedis several times. The service is excellent. Everything is clean and sterilized. But they do a horrible job on polishing. I've been at least 5 times. The first time I figured that maybe I had a bad person because they're were tons of air bubbles in my polish the next day. The second time the polish began to PEEL off on day 3. Like literally it peeled. I took a bath, and when I got out of the tub I swear to you it was peeling off! Like that peel off polish you buy for little kids! I was so blown. So of course I went back with my 7 peeling nails. They're response was "o the polish was too thick." Well I knew that! I just want it fixed! The woman grudgingly removed the polish...NO REMOVER CUZ IT WAS STILL PEELING! She gave me a new polish job and it looked fine. However, air bubbles again! The last three times I went I got the manicure but did my own polish at home. And yes in case you're wondering..the same thing happened to the polish on my toes too. I'm guessing its the base coat or top coats they use. The colors I had were always OPI..which is usually great. I'll never EVER go back to LV for polish again. I've learned my lesson. read more

I came the first time to get a pedi with a friend- then returned on Saturday for a better price for my fill for gel-nails. Unfortunately the previous nail tech from another salon did a crap job, so they had to peel them off and start again from scratch. While it was somewhat painful to have all that done, I'm happy because now my nails aren't fake-looking from the side view like my last set, but much thinner and look 100 times more natural. Yay!! The owner (who spoke great English) and the nail-tech, Kim, were super nice and helpful. She did a great job and I'll definitely be going back for more!! My favorite Nails Salon in all of DC! The nail technicians focus really hard to get every detail of your pedicure on point. Once you walk in you are greeted by everyone in the salon. They take time and know how to remove cuticles ingrown and hang nails. I have been worked on by every nail tech in the salon and i can honestly say they are all amazing and I can't choose who is my favorite. My acrylics last for two weeks and same with my polish. This is the best nail salon I have found in DC. I don't do gels or acrylic anymore- so I look for a good mani/pedi at a good price. Well, you can't get better than this place! Kim is my favorite, but everyone is great. They spend a really long time on your pedicure- which is only like 17 dollars by itself? (MANI/PEDI IS ONLY 30 DOLLARS!!) Anyway- the polish stays Forever and I am a runner, which says a lot. They don't make fun of you if you have a black toe nail or a lot of dead skin (which is very un-relaxing) and don't force other services too much. 2 things I loathe while at a nail salon/spa. I've gotten a mani/pedi here about half a dozen times. Each time was decent. You get what you pay for. The first time I visited they offered refreshments, but I'm guessing this was because they were fairly new and wanted to create a good rep. The pedicures are nice, luckily my feet aren't that rough, because they skimp on the foot scrubbing and leg massage. The polish never, ever, ever, chips. So of course that's great. The manicures are great.They shape my nails nicely and the only time I've gotten an overlay, she didn't apply a thick layer of acrylic. Which is great, because thick acrylic is nasty and tacky. My nails are polished, filed and the cuticles taken care of. The pedicure was pretty enjoyable- working massage chairs, TV, neat polish job. Will I get some kind of funky fungal infection? I don't know. Maybe. But it was $25. Seriously, it's $25 for a Mani/Pedi. Set your expectations appropriately. I've only been here once but had such a great experience that I needed to review it! This is only a review for their wax services. I got my legs and underarms waxed here on a whim as I was desperate and needing it done that day. I called ahead and they said to come on in when I said I needed it done in the next few mins. They happily agreed. When I got there Kim whisked me away to a room in the back and did both my leg and underarm wax in under TWENTY (20) minutes!!! I've been getting these services done for years and it's very rare to walk out in less than 30 mins. Kim was so fast and very efficient. If she saw any stray hairs that the wax didn't catch she used tweezers. Also what I loved about this place is that they invested in the rollers and not just the cheap wooden sticks for faster and cleaner results. The sticks take so much longer as the tech has to keep dipping it into the wax and blow on it and make sure it doesn't drop, etc. No worries with the rollers. Best of all their wax prices are very reasonable! Kim was super friendly and I'm looking forward to going back. read more

I love that this place is one block from my condo, and I love the service here. More than anything, I love the prices, which are very reasonable considering the area that it is located. Other places around the corner are a bit higher than here. So, I've been coming here for over year, and I've had probably four their technicians. I found one, that I really like and her name is Mai. She's very gentle, meticulous and is always smiling and friendly. I finally decided to make appointment with her yesterday, but before all that are used to just walk in off the street. I've learned that if I want to have her work on me, I should definitely make an appointment ahead of time. The only time I was disappointed, was when she was off because she had a baby, understandly of course and I went to someone else equally qualified. She's back so now I'm pretty happy that she's returned. I would definitely make sure to call in advance and see when she's available. Ladies, it's just as important to get your nails done in the winter as it is in the summer, so keep making your appointments on a regular basis. read more

The manicure was not very good and I have a lot of chipping after only three days. I don't usually write reviews, but the manicure I got here was so much worse than any other in the area that I had to share. I've gotten dozens of gel manicures in DC and I like to try a new place every once in a while so I stopped into LV on Thursday. In less than 5 days, my gel manicure began to peel off, without any touching, the gel on more than half of my nails has peeled. I never peel off gel myself, but this was so thin, it peeled off easier than a regular non-gel paint. While the staff was friendly enough, the work done was really lacking. The paint itself was uneven and darker is some spots. It needed another coat, and the edges were really messy. I am certainly not coming back here and now I have to get my nails redone elsewhere, costing me more money. read more
