This place is legit. Nostalgic, authentic, comforting flavors. Braised pork rice: a classic dish that they do right. Love that they give you sauce on the rice. All the sides you typically want with 卤肉饭 are included, from egg to cabbage to pickled veggies. Vinegar shredded potato 土豆丝: perfectly cooked texture and the flavor is refreshing light savory and perfectly vinegary. I will keep coming back here! The prices are reasonable and the food has been consistently delicious each time. So glad I discovered this place to give me the home flavors I want when I get a craving
On the way back from Santa Ana, find LuYiXuan Restaurant in Alhambra, which serves Shanghainese and Taiwanese cuisine. This restaurant is difficult to get parking because it is located inside a small plaza on the corner of Valley and Garfield. Fortunately, I found a parking space there. The restaurant is not particularly large, But there are many customers dining there. We ordered Garlic Cucumber, Braised Pork Rice, Garlic Water Spinach, Braised Beef Noodles, Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs, Garlic Beef Cubes, and two Thai Milk Teas. I'm able to speak with the owner, who informs me that this restaurant does not use MSG or other ingredients. Everything is fresh and healthy. After tasting the food and the Braised Beef Noodles, I can tell it's really tasty and light, with no harsh components that make you thirsty and want to drink more water. So far, my family and I have really enjoyed the food here. Definitely will return and try other delicious foods next time.
Prices and portions are fair in this little shop in Alhambra, and the pig ear here is cut thin and marinated in a classic chili sauce! Service is outstanding and very friendly, and the restroom is clean. Lots of free parking is available in the small lot outside. The restaurant is in a corner of the lot within unassuming outside exterior but very nice interior. The garlic cucumber was crunchy and light in marinade. I enjoyed the pig ear but prefer thicker cuts typically. It would be wonderful to come back to try other entrees.
Found this place on Yelp because I was craving for my preferred comfort dish - braised pork belly with rice and it did not disappoint. The pork was cooked perfectly. Great flavor, not oily, and very tender. Came with the side you would want - sautéed cabbage, pickled vegetables, stewed egg, and I asked for chili. The pork large intestine had great flavor . Both were good sized portions and the food arrived within a few minutes after ordering. Service was super quick. This place is no frills but clean. Definitely will come back to try the other dishes including the beef noodle soup. Parking is ample in the underground garage.
Small parking lot with additional garage parking. Such a hole in a wall spot! It's located right inside a small plaza near the corner. We tried a few of their dishes and the braised pork rice and beef noodle soup was great and flavorful. We also got the seafood curry cause it looked like a popular item to try but that was tasted mediocre. The flavor was a bit bland and the curry was more watery Staff is really friendly and sweet.
My daughter found this restaurant on Yelp because of its high ratings and description of Taiwanese food. She wanted to try their braised pork rice. The restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived, there were only a few tables. It's a small restaurant. The owner (I think) and waiter were both very welcoming and friendly. They gave us complimentary cups of chicken vegetable broth. We decided to try some items that we regularly order at other restaurants and some new items. Chicken vegetable broth: 5/5 - I thought this was the best dish we had. Very umami broth. Beef burrito appetizer: 3/5 - This is more commonly called a beef roll at most other restaurants. It was okay, they don't fry the wrapping like some other restaurants. Braised pork rice: 3/5 - Good portion size and reasonably priced. The flavors are less Taiwanese and more Shanghai. Braised beef noodle:3/5 - Compared to other beef noodles soups we've had this was just okay. Braised intestine rice noodle: 3.5/5 - they were nice enough to make mine without peppers. I enjoy intestines and wanted to try this dish. The owner suggested I have it with vinegar which I tried and after eating maybe a quarter of the dish I felt nauseous from the vinegar. The vinegar does enhance the dish but at the same time you can only have so much of it without feeling queasy. I would rate this place 3.5 rounded up to 4. Food wise I thought this place was just okay. But I really enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and might come back again in the future to try new dishes.
We've been here many times throughout the past 3 years and each time we leave with our bellies full and a smile on our faces. It's simple what they do well here, they make darn good food that tastes like homemade food (healthy and delicious), they price everything on the menu very reasonably (especially in these crazy times), and they treat all their customers like family/neighbors. Now that I've given you the why, let's move on to the good food. We usually order the beef noodle soup because of how tender the meat is and the soup & noodles are just perfect comfort food. And we always pair it with veggies (garlic cucumbers or water spinach) and pork dumplings are also amazing. Almost any of their braised meat rice/noodles are just really good (popular ones are braised pork rice or braised chicken leg rice). Interior space is also very roomy and comfortable for big groups or cozy meals Parking is pretty easy since they have a lot in their back entrance and they used to let you park underground as well but the building's new management started closing the gates at 6pm because they're just sad and unfriendly human beings lol but luckily the surrounding area has many places to park.
Brought my out of town guests here on a stop from a west coast cruise because, and I quote, "Janelle, there is NO good Asian food on the boat!" I let them order because this was to satisfy their cravings....and, they're Taiwanese that live abroad. We ordered salt & pepper spare ribs, rice cakes w/pork, pan fried dumplings, pigs feet, tendons, pig ear and to balance it out some sautéed garlic spinach. All the food was cooked authentically and my friends couldn't stop talking about how good it was. This restaurants aura is a relatively casual setting. Parking lot is tight, there's not a lot of it at street level. You can enter from the parking lot through a back door or you can enter from the street. They don't care, they are happy to see and serve you. The vibe was good. Yes, I'll e back to try all the other yummy Taiwanese dishes!
Tasty , tasty , tasty I was in the area and was craving some food and decided to come here and I know I made the right decision. The braised pork ribs were excellent.
I went with friends to Luyixian in Alhambra and had a great experience eating their Chinese food! I was in the mood for 牛肉面 Beef Noodle Soup and got just that! Their noodles have a great chew, and a nice "Q" texture to them, and I loved every single bite of them. Their soup is a bit spicy, but thats my bad for asking for spicy. My party also got another order of 牛肉面 Beef Noodle Soup, and 卤肉饭 Braised Pork Rice, and shared a 空心菜 Hollow Vegetable Stir Fry. We finished everything before we left. Their portions are just perfect! Their prices are great for their portions as well, and everyone in my party table was happy with their order. Service is friendly, and our food was served in less than 5 minutes from ordering. it's a great spot if you are looking for a quick bite to eat if in a rush. They also handle a lot of take-out orders as well and are on the phone a lot. When you pass by the restaurant's sign on the street, just make a loop around to find the underground parking. It's a bit dark and you gotta climb the stairs up to find the restaurant entrance, but not too hard of a find. Their bathroom is gender neutral, large, and kept very clean, which i appreciated since we were on our way to the airport. Their 牛肉面 Beef Noodle Soup is delicious and I would definitely come back!
*4.5* Consistent rice plate Great flavor House made fresh chili on the side Had the pork rib platter, tender meat Cabbage on the side And Braised beef noodle soup Tasty broth Tender beef Good quantity of beef Recommend both dishes* More seating inside the building Parking lot garage available
You just don't find this stuff west of I-5. This bowl of noodles has convinced me to go to SGV more often. The broth was deep and fragrant, the 2 cuts of beef (banana shank and brisket) had their own charms, and the noodles had some bite. Got a touch of Taiwan and a touch of Shanghai.
Came here in search of the best beef noodle soup, but it was just alright. Here are my thoughts on the whole meal: -Spicy Beef Noodle Soup: The spice level was actually pretty mild in my opinion. I enjoyed the chewy noodles and the fact that they weren't doughy or thick. I think the broth starts you off with a good savory note but leans rather sweet with each sip. The chunks of beef were pretty tender and had nice areas with a bit of fatty trim. Nice crunchy baby bok choy as well. -Collagen Chicken Broth: This was given to us for free prior to the dishes we ordered. You could tell the bone broth was collagen-rich as it was cloudy and even came with one chicken foot for each serving. This came out hot and was very comforting. Much appreciated. The restaurant and parking: The parking lot is super small and seems to be shared with the neighboring businesses. We were able to find a spot in the back. It seems like the business has two doors so there's also an entrance in front. The restaurant has seating area immediately surrounding their counter, as well as additional tables inside their connected dining room. Service was pretty quick and attentive. Overall: Not bad but not outstanding. Still on the hunt for a more savory beef noodle soup.
Was trying to find a place for lunch on a random weekday. This place is excellent. Give the small hole in the wall vibe but inside is pretty spacious and clean. Staff is friendly and the food is excellent. I will say parking can be difficult but that shouldn't surprise anyone in the area. Small underground lot if you can't find anything upstairs Had the braised beef plate. Big portions, tasty and well braised beef. Veggies on the side were on the saltier side for my liking, but overall I'd get it again. Got the beef noodle soup as well. I thought the broth could be a littler more "rich", on the lighter side than I usually like it. Not pictured but also tried the pork spare rib noodle soup. The spare ribs were tasty and fell off the bone. Overall enjoyed the food and staff. Would come back again to try some other dishes like the braised pork read more
Parking: There is a tiny parking lot with underground parking in the plaza. It is a very old plaza so the parking spots are very small (for cars from the 90s). Parking can get difficult later in the day. Interior: The restaurant is rather spacious. There were plenty of seats available when I arrived at 12 pm on a Saturday. Everything was pretty clean. Service: The waitress was friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. Food: I ordered the braised pork rice. It was pretty good. They used actual pork chopped into small pieces rather than minced meat like most places. The meat was tender and not overly salty or oily. Overall it was a decent meal but a bit pricey for what would be considered street food. It is still worth trying if you like braised food. read more

Luyixian Beef Noodle was so good. The pork knuckle was very tender and juicy, and the braised pork was super flavorful. The servers are always friendly, and the interior is nice and clean. Definitely a place I keep coming back to. read more
Think I had originally bookmarked this place after seeing it in the LA Times or LA Magazine, can't recall the exact one but makes sense why it was in there! It's a modest place in terms of size and decor but makes up for it with flavor. I got the cold jellyfish appetizer--yes--I need as much collagen as I can get. Botox is expensive these days! The hainan chicken was delicious and I always rate hainan chicken not specifically on the chicken itself but the caliber of the dipping sauces which they knocked it out of the park. Next visit I want to try the braised gluten that I just saw someone post! No idea how I missed that because that totally would have ended up in my order as well. Oh, they also embody efficiency. No waiting around. Less than two minutes of sitting down and someone was at my table taking my order. read more

Tried out this little place for dinner and it wasn't too busy and we were able to be seated right away. This spot is super low key casual and feels like eating at your aunt's home (especially the door to the second dining area). The servers were kind enough to bring us water with large cups so you don't have to keep pouring/filling. FOOD: We ordered the Braised Pork Rice dish with peppers and Braised Beef Noodles soup. I will say that the flavors were not as salty as other places I've had, but flavors were not as strong as I'd have liked. - The beef chunks in the noodle soup were on the tough side but the noodles were soft and soup was pretty tasty. - The pork cubes with rice was pretty tasty as well. The dish came with a small bowl of soup. Parking: The lot on site is shared with other establishments so during rush hour it can get pretty packed. But there is an underground parking lot where more spaces can be found. read more

I've been curious to try Lu Yi Xian for a while and finally convinced my mom to join me! I think that overall, their food is good...though I'll probably stick to their noodles or rice dishes and appetizers. -Their Spicy Beef Noodles does have a stronger Chinese gingseng-herbal taste mixed in, but I was fine with it. Their noodles seem to be made in-house and were very "cue"! -Their garlic cucumber was a nice palate cleanser for all the spice and seasoned well (a little salty, a little sour & definitely garlicky). -Their Pig Ears in Red Oil was good, definitely has a kick that builds, seasoned well (though my mom & I would probably prefer a little less sugar). -Mom also wanted to try their Sichuan DanDan Noodles, which is also spicy...I thought again the in-house made noodles were good, but the seasoning was just okay as I feel I've had better dandan noodles elsewhere... -Anyway, my only gripe may be with their stir-fry dishes because their KongPao Chicken was too sweet, it didn't taste like it should. But I think I will come back for the appetizers and to try other noodle dishes! This took over the former Old Country Cafe, which my mom and I have fond nostalgia for. The interior is pretty much the same. One unisex bathroom by the entrance (which is in the back through the parking lot). Parking lot is a bit cramped, especially if you go to lower level. Service was fairly quick & prices were reasonable. Didn't get pictures for ALL of our dishes, only some, because I was hungry, lol...next time! read more
Picked up 2 beef noodle soups for take out. They open until 11pm which was a plus. They were busy even at 9pm when I was there to pick up my orders. I ordered one spicy and one non spicy beef noodle soups. They looked the same except they just added some chilling peppers on top. Both dishes were delicious and flavorful. The beef was tender and the noodle was firm. We will definitely come back again. Friendly service. read more

Our party came in around 8:45pm on a Saturday night. It looked like we came in from the back because the workers looked a little surprised to see us. However, our party of 3 got seated quickly. On first glance, it was crowded. All the tables were taken so I'd say we were lucky to have gotten a table. As we were eating, it seemed that as soon as someone left, another person came. After looking through the menu we decided to get 2 dishes to share and we knew we wanted to get noodles. After looking around, it looked like the other parties did too. We were served some soup as a starter and I never got the name nor did I finish it. Based on the waitress's recommendations, we got the braised pork rice noodles with chopped pepper and the braised need brisket noodles. Our dishes came out quick and hot. I must say the portions were generous. For both of them, the meat was tender and flavorful and the noodles were al dente. We were running low on the broth for one of our soups and after asking if we could get some more broth, one worker was nice to bring us a small bowl to refill it just a bit. read more
Be sure to order a beef or pork dish when you visit here! It seems that they specialize and focus more on the beef noodle soup. I ordered the Hainan Chicken Rice and it was not an enjoyable experience for me. All of the chicken pieces had a lot of bone fragments and it was difficult to eat without worrying that I'll swallow a bone. Everything else was good, it's just the chicken that wasn't great. The rest of the dishes looked good though. I think I would try this restaurant again and order a beef dish instead. read more
Def a hole in the wall for Chinese food. It's hard to find the entrance into the parking of this restaurant. They're in a corner for sure. They have a small parking lot in the back of the restaurant, but if the lot is full, it's a pain to get back out. The interior is pretty small, but it turns out they have another dining area in the next room over. I recommend coming here with groups of four or less. There is a restroom. Braised pork rice w chopped pepper $15.99. This is different from the braised pork rice, which doesn't come with the peppers. (TBH the chopped pepper tastes like the chili sauce I get from the Chinese grocery store.) Pork pieces are very fatty. Good meat to cabbage ratio. It may be slightly too much rice. I like the pickled veggies. Pig ear w red oil was a good appetizer to share between three people. It was a good flavor, subtly numbing. Spicy beef noodle $15.99. The broth was not too spicy and tasted sour like it went bad. I chalked it up to too much vinegar!? The noodles were too thin for my preference. The meat was too tough imo. I wouldn't get their beef noodles again. I'm interested to try their dishes like water-boiled fish fillet. It's like half the price compared to those at Szechuan restaurants. read more

We got the braised pork dish and beef noodle soup. The braised pork dish was ok but their beef noodle soup is definitely one of the best! Even better than the ones I've had in Taiwan! We ordered the spicy version and requested it mild so it had a nice little kick to it. The place is not that big and some parts of the restaurant may not be wheelchair friendly, but service was good and they were very accommodating with my handicapped friend. read more

This place is a gem. The food is delicious, the staff friendly and attentive (but not too attentive), and the portions are big enough for two (meals or people) Don't be intimidated by the location in the dark depths of a nondescript mini mall. You might be the only diners there if its a weeknight but the vibe is good theres no weirdness at all The kid (now a man, wow where did the time go!?) had the beef soup and i had the seafood soup (chinese chigge, pretty much) Both tasted great. When we go back i will update with whatever we try. This place is a 'must try' for sure. read more

Was excited to try Luyixian from the stellar reviews, but was very disappointed. We got the shrimp noodles, but it had 3 pieces of small shrimp and was not satisfying at all. It didn't seem freshly made and was drowning in sauce. Don't think I'll be back :( read more
To start parking is behind the building and is very small A Hole in the wall this is a noodle house with a very different menu.. my wife and I sat for a bit trying to figure out what do get . I came here for a quick meal and was seriously impressed. The food tastes authentic, portions are generous, and everything was cooked with care. I ordered the beef noodle soup and the braised pork elbow rice plate, and both dishes were excellent. Beef Noodle Soup: The broth was rich and flavorful with that classic Taiwanese depth. The noodles were perfectly chewy, and the beef chunks were tender and juicy. Definitely one of the better beef noodle soups I've had in the area. Braised Pork Elbow Rice Plate: The pork elbow was incredibly tender and full of flavor--melt-in-your-mouth and perfectly braised. The plate came with cabbage, pickled veggies, a marinated egg, and a big serving of rice. Everything paired together really well, and the seasoning was on point. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable, and the food came out fast. If you're craving Taiwanese comfort food, this spot is a must-try. I'll definitely be back! read more

One of my favorite places to get traditional braised pork rice! The food here reminds me of childhood especially if you grew up eating this. Braised Pork Rice (5/5): My favorite dish here that can't compete! Tender chunks of pork belly simmered in a savory, sweet sauce served with a soy sauce egg, Chinese mustard greens that add a sour tang to balance the fattiness of the meat, and tender, flavorful cabbage that still has a bite to it. This dish is hands down so comforting and tasty. Big portions to leave you full! Comes with miso soup! Braised Beef Rice (4/5): This dish was similar to the above braised pork rice described above but the meat was a little more chewy since it's beef and not pork belly. Still very solid dish since the beef was tender as well. Pig Ears (4/5): Not the best pig ears I've had but still solid! Here it's served in a spicy sauce and is served cold. Still has a bite to it and not as tender as other pig ears if you like more of a bite than tender. read more
*** Credit cards accepted! *** Oh this is such an underrated Shanghainese cafe in the SGV (San Gabriel Valley) area. You know this cafe is good when more than half of their customers are local 50+ years old Asian parents/grandparents bringing their family members to dine here. This location used to be Old Country Cafe (oldest Taiwanese mom & pop restaurant in the SGV area at the time) and Luyixian started only two years ago (Aug 2022). [Parking]: There's a free underground parking garage. [Service]: Casual dine-in setting - walk in, pick an available table, place an order with the staff, receive your order, and flag the staff to pay. Service was pretty efficient. [Menu]: The signature item that LA Times wrote about is #44 Braised Pork Rice with Chopped Pepper (https://www.latimes.com/food/story/2023-02-02/luyixian-lu-rou-fan-pork-rice-bill-addison-review-alhambra). Another signature dish is beef noodle soup (braised or spicy option available). *** #36 Braised Beef Noodle Soup ($15.99): Refreshing and savory broth + melt-in-your-mouth beef! I am still a fan of thick noodle, but their thin noodle was smooth like spaghetti. It was also interesting to see slices of carrots as a part of toppings. Overall it was a great beef noodle soup (A- grade). #44 Braised Pork Rice with Chopped Pepper: Braised pork didn't taste overly salty and it was quite a satisfactory rice dish. *** None of dishes I ordered here tasted super salty and that probably explained why they have many returned customers over 50+ years old - at least they won't have to worry about high blood pressure from consuming too much sodium. 4.5-star on the ultimate Chinese comfort food with braised beef dishes as the biggest selling point. Bump up due to (1) friendly service and (2) the staff even offered free additional beef noodle broth to fill up the remaining gap of my hot food container to take home. read more
When the weather is cool, I gravitate to comfort food. Braising is a method of slowly cooking meat so it becomes supple and juicy. Luyixian braises various cuts of meat used in an assortment of Chinese rice and noodle dishes. Braised Pork Rice: Little cubes of sticky pork belly have been cooked in a braising liquid with soy sauce and other seasonings. The morsels are soft and tender. I enjoy all the accompanying items on the plate as much as the meat. The chopped and pickled long beans are great. They are crunchy little bursts of floral flavor. The cold cabbage is like a palate cleaner. Mustard greens are saucy, sweet, and tangy - great with bites of the gray covered rice and soy egg. I love spicy food, but I didn't realize that they have a version with cooked red peppers. Dining Area: There are about a dozen tables in a couple of rooms. Parking: The strip mall has a tiny parking area at the top and a large underground parking area below. read more
This is a spot for comforting rice and noodle soup dishes. Luyixian has been on my list to try and I finally got a chance to check them out. They seem to specialize in their braised pork over rice, so i had high expectations for it. I also ordered their house special pickled cabbage fish since I'm a huge fan of those. Prices were reasonably, $15 for the rice and $19 for the fish. The braised pork over rice came out super quick and had a nice presentation. It was a pretty generous portion of pork belly with a good amount of sauce. The taste of the pork wasn't as strong as I expected as compared to the traditional Taiwanese braised pork over rice. The place claims to be Shanghainese so maybe they braised pork different. The sauce was sweet and tasted pretty good with the soft rice and pickled veggies, but it didn't blow me away. The pickled cabbage fish tasted decent. The portion is huge and comes with a lot of glass noodles in a pickled cabbage broth. The fish was really tender and I enjoyed it. Overall the food here was good, but I wouldn't compare it to Taiwanese braised pork over rice since the flavor was a lot lighter. Nonetheless I enjoyed the meal and am glad I tried them out. read more
I have to be honest this place was just NOT for me and my boyfriend's taste buds. The restaurant is pretty small and it can get really busy and packed. There is a back room with a few large round tables. Lots of space in the underground parking garage. We got the couple's sliced beef, braised beef noodles, and spicy beef noodles. We were really confused when we got the food, the spicy beef noodles were the same as the braised beef noodles, but with a tiny plate of chili on the side. Hmm, is that what it means to be spicy beef noodle? We added the chili into the noodle soup but it didn't add any spice to it, not enough for it to be called "spicy" beef noodles. The beef in the soup was super tender, it had a good amount of meat. But the reason for the low rating is the beef noodle soup's broth. It is extremely and uncomfortably sweet!!! We could not finish our beef noodle soup because of how sweet the broth was. I know other reviews have noted this place is Shanghainese, and Shanghainese food is typically on the sweeter end. I am part Shanghainese, but I could not tolerate the level of sweetness in the broth. If you enjoy and prefer a sweeter base for beef noodle soup, then this place may still be worth a try for you! read more

I've been coming here since they first opened and the place was almost a ghost town! I came here last week and wow it was packed !! I'm so happy for them. I came around 10pm and it was still crowded and lively inside. My go-to is the braised pork rice with chopped chilis. If you are a spice lover you cannot skip these chilis they are so spice and complement the juicy braised pork so well!! Delicious! Great hole-in-the-wall spot for soup noodle. The prices were decent for the area. The star of the meal for me was the house special boiled fish. This was enormous and enough for at least two people. It had baby bok choy, bean spouts, and glass noodles. The spice level was perfect for me. I liked their take on the dan dan noodles. It was pretty simple without any veggies. Thus, it paired nicely with the garlic cucumber (side dish). read more
Instant favorite! SO GOOD! We had a hard time choosing what to order because everything looked so good and we were only 2 people. They had Sichuan dishes that looked really good! A hidden gem in the 626! Came here with a friend on recommendation of another. It is on the corner of Valley and Garfield -- there is a very tight and tiny parking lot on the main floor but you can go to an underground garage for more parking. Just a heads up you won't be able to use the stairs to get back down there from the top because the door is locked. Upon entering the restaurant it looks like a super tiny place but there's a secret room that accommodates bigger parties. My friend and I shared 3 dishes together -- red oil dumplings, braised beef noodles, and braised pork rice. All were very flavorful and came in huge portions. We only finished the noodles because that's the least convenient to take to go lol I think we had like 1 dumpling leftover, and a LOT of the braised pork rice left. The braised pork rice was my favorite - loved the salted egg that came with it, the pickled veggies, the pork was very soft and flavorful.. ugh it was perfect! Service was good - they work very fast to take orders, bring out dishes, clean up, get you the check, etc. Definitely worth checking out if you want some yummy comfort food! read more
We visited the restaurant around 1 PM on a saturday, and it was fully seated, so we shared a large round table with another group of 2. We ordered braised beef noodles ($15.99) and braised pork rib noodles ($13.99), and the food came out fast. The portions of the meat were generous, and it was immaculate in terms of both texture and flavor. The pork rib came right off the bone, and the braised beef was even softer. While the meat alone definitely deserves a 5 star, the soup and noodles were underwhelming in comparison. Both dishes used the same broth, and it was bland. Additionally, I wasn't fond of the noodle's slightly floury/sticky texture... Nevertheless, I am interested in coming back in the future to try other dishes. read more

Parking: easily missed. One entrance and exit and it's a half open structure. There's more parking underground but cramped spaces. Got the signature braised pork rice with chopped peppers instead of the regular braised pork rice. The chopped peppers added a nice kick. Braised pork, rice, and mix of vegetables were a good blend in a bite. Food came out really fast. Solid comfort Taiwanese food. It didn't blow away all the other competitors out of the water though. read more

Food: 5/5 I ordered the original beef noodle soup and the broth was rich and tasty! The beef was tender and noodle was bouncy. Service: 4/5 maybe because it was dinner time, they were slower when it came to taking our order since we were seated in the second room. Ambiance: 4/5 it is a family sit down restaurant. My top favorite place for beef noodle soup in 626!! The braised pork rice is also really good too. Quality and quantity is what you can expect from Luyixian. This location has had a number of business changes over the years but I hope Luyixian succeeds. Braised Intestine Rice -- The chopped peppers elevated the flavors of the braised intestines. I was hesitant the peppers would be unbearable but it brought on some heat that was manageable. This was by far the best meal I've had in months and yet one of the most cost efficient too. Complimentary chicken feet soup was light yet flavorful, and the beef noodle soup is my new favorite; I enjoyed it even more than Dai Ho's version. My mouth is watering just thinking about coming back. The exterior of the place is very unassuming, which is why after years of living here I've managed to miss it. Restaurant is small but very clean and the service was impeccable. read more
Located in a small plaza with limited parking, this spot is my go to for Taiwanese comfort food. They have the best braised pork over rice and their beef noodle soup warms you up. The braised pork was so tender and flavorful. It was subtly sweet and extremely savory. If you're looking for the best spot for braised pork, this is the one. Their beef noodle soup is also a great options especially on cold nights. It is a generous portion with soft chewy noodles. Order: braised pork over rice, beef noodle soup Comment: no comment. Food and service were great. read more
