I normally go to a nail salon in Franklin, but per the suggestion of some ladies on Facebook, I tried out this salon. It was disappointing to say the least. I asked for almond-shaped nails, which I had previously, and I got oval done instead. The book also advertised colors in a particular way that did not translate to the dip color I picked out - what was supposed to be a rosey mauve was more coral, so she colored it with a darker shade of gel that is still very far from what their display nails depicted. All in all, I feel like my nails look sloppy and far from what I envisioned. It is a bummer to keep driving to Franklin for a manicure, but this did not feel worth the time or money. I've been a big Luxy girl for years now. I usually get the same women who do my nails really well. I always love the shape and Debbie is a doll. Today I went in for a gel soak off and clear polish. That's it. I asked the price of it and was told $15. The lady who did my nails talked me into cutting my cuticles back then she put lotion on my hands and barely rubbed it in. I guess it was supposed to be a hand massage? Anyway, those two things doubled the price of my soak off and clear regular polish. My total was $30.... Such a rip off. My clear was still sticky when I was told to leave, and I had to reshape my nails in the car. I've gone 3 times customer service, clean, and do a great job. Its been difficult to find a good nail salon but this one is a keeper.

Its unfortunate. I will NOT be back. Everything was great till the price came. I've gotten my nails done (acrylic) hundreds of times. I've also had every other type of nails as well. Season vet if you ask me. But she, the manager Debbie, got me. She did my nails and I got to the register and she said she gave me "solar nails". Upcharge!!! Even tho I never asked for that. And never heard of it. After all I asked for was acrylic. Point for Debbie. Then she upcharge me for my style of my file. Short and almond? Point two for Debbie. So after what was supposed to cost $28 it up be in 45 I was so angry paid and left. Later on I Google solar nails and find out it is acrylic just a brand name of acrylic. Ripped off. And for shaping? After asking for suggestions on nail place to go to, Luxy was the most suggested by all. Even after seeing the negative reviews on here, we decided to give it a go (especially since most are quite old). Overall it was a great experience, especially for how busy they were start to finish. $50 for a standard mani/pedi and it's one of the better ones I've had. I am VERY anal retentive about painting to the edge of the nail, not leaving an empty rim around the polish. But without even asking, that's exactly what I got! If I'm in town long enough, I'm sure I'll go there again. If it was just a smidge cleaner, I would have given it five stars. read more

I went in for a pedicure that was $43.00. They handed me the gel color selections but didn't tell me those were gel selections instead of regular polish colors. When I went up to pay, it was $20 extra for the gel polish instead of regular polish. I had no idea. Furthermore, gel polish should never cost $20 more. My pedicure ended up costing $63.00. This place used to be great. Lately it's just lacking. I had Gel Dip (SNS) done last Tuesday today is Sunday. Nail Chipped. They say it lasts about 3 weeks which it has other times. Went in to get it fixed and they acted like it was an issue. They fixed it with a diff shade of what I originally had because I couldn't find the color and they didn't know what color it was. Utterly rude. Since they were open for Memorial Day, I took my fiancé - an Iraq veteran - with me for a pedicure. The technician was rude and impolite and gave a half done manicure! Horrible experience. He picked out a color (a color that has a specific significance to the battalion that he served with) and he was LAUGHED at. My fiancé was a good sport but it was NOT cool. Is this how you treat people that have served our country? Really? AND pay well over 100 dollars for our service in the process? Absolutely ASININE. I will never frequent this place again and I shouldn't have paid for it. I will be contacting management as well. They do a good job with nails. They use to have more workers. Now they are short workers for the number of customers. I see one person on here thought she was skipped over due to her color - I do not think that was necessarily true. We sat and waited while others were sat. Finally 1 daughter went after 15 min and 1 after an hour. While we sat there many others who had just walked in were sat before us. Our second child did not get sat until I said we had been waiting an hour and then the worker who did her nails had 3 people at once he was going between. I got a mani-pedi and it was great. Didn't feel rushed or like they didn't care. Angel did a great job. Maybe being a dude makes it easier. Like every place I've ever been too, you need to tell them shorter or long with the nails. It isn't the prettiest, most fancy place. Great place to go if you enjoy torture. I walked into Luxy on a Saturday to get a manicure. I got in right away, but not long after sitting down for my manicure, I began to regret trying out a new place. First, the woman who was doing my manicure refused to trim my nails at my request. I am very active and do not enjoy having long nails. She told me if she trimmed them, then they wouldn't look "pretty." Next, she balked at my color choice and tried to convince me to go for the (more expensive) French manicure - so NOT my style! I already felt insulted and disregarded when she started making faces, and telling me how terrible my eyebrows looked. I go to a place in Cool Springs to get my eyebrows threaded because I absolutely cannot do waxing. My eyelids swell up for days when I get waxed and I was advised by my doctor never to do it again. When I told her this, once again, she disregarded me and said, "Oh, everyone swells - it will go away in 15 minutes." When she started trimming my cuticles, once again she made a face to show me how much dry skin there was. "Yes," I said, "I have dry cuticles. I work with kids. I wash my hands a lot." I don't need this pointed out! Also, as she was trimming my cuticles, there were several areas where I started to bleed - three days later, I still have scabs from where she trimmed too close. Finally, when she was painting my nails, she told me to switch hands under the ultra-violet light. While I was switching my hands, as told, she started yelling, "SWITCH HANDS! SWITCH HANDS!" I was switching hands! Then she said, "Have you never gotten a manicure before?" I tipped her $5 for a $35 (disappointing) manicure. She made a face when she saw the tip amount too. Never. Going. Luxy Nails was just what Spring Hill needed! It's an affordable, luxury looking, quality nail place with friendly manicurists, complimentary drinks and exceptional services. I am VERY particular about getting my nails done and pedicures are among my vices... I'd yet to find a good place in town for a pedicure, until I tried Luxy. My pedicure included a wonderful massage, a scrub and they clean the cuticles very well... in addition to expertly applied polish... I truly enjoyed the Luxy experience. I walked in to get my two broken nails fixed (not quite time for a fill in but I asked for one). The lady I had was very nice and redid all of my nails, due to the previous nail salon making them super thin, which caused two of them to break. She made conversation with me, which I have to say many other nail techs failed to do. She even stayed an hour after closing time to get the job done! I appreciate how she took her time and made sure that my nails were perfect! I wish I would have gotten her name because I'm asking for her next time I go! I tell him I want medium long nails he cuts my pinky nail and I tell him oh that's to short he tells me he's going to fix it. He proceeds to cut my nails ALL short and I'm telling him they're too short he tells me they will be fine... so I let it go because I have now been here for over an hr. He doesn't shape them at all.. Leaves them looking like square boxes. Now when he puts on the acrylic my nail is actually hot to the touch I tell him this and he tells me that this is normal...... The pedi itself was fine, not a ton of attention to detail....but not terrible either. But my all time biggest pet peeve is when they clean the bowl while I'm still sitting there, feet up with warm towels on me.....then, bam, bust out the cleaning products.
