This review is about Salon Blonde SOUTH in Columbia. I had an all-around exceptional salon experience! Lovely space with tons of natural light, a genuine welcome from the front desk gal, an exactly-on-time appointment, and great color. I'm a recent transplant, and am so happy to have found my first local self-care service! My stylist, LAUREN MOSLEY, is simply fantastic. As a blonde, it can be especially difficult communicating in the same language as your stylist regarding tone and color (it's always smart to bring photo reference!), but Lauren asked all the right questions, made sure she was clear in her understanding of what I wanted, and even gave me an estimated price before beginning. Not only all that, but she's a really calm, warm, and kind human being and a pleasure to chat with. I was not her only client during my appointment, but she juggled perfectly and I was never waiting for her to "come back". She humorously called it doing "hair traffic control". Unfortunately, four visits later, nothing has changed and my hair looks the exact same. I was constantly charged $250 and up, and the pricing did not make sense for what I was receiving. I have decided to part ways with this company and now see someone else who was able to maintain the health of my hair and give me what I asked for. I often felt that they make minimal changes in an attempt to keep clients coming back. I felt very forced to buy their products when I had already found a good hair routine. I found Salon Blonde South via Facebook and my Stylist Sydney via their website. This salon is the absolute BEST! Sydney truly listens to you and your concerns about your hair and or/ what you want to do with it. She recommends products not based on price but on your hairs needs. My hair was looking pretty rough when I first moved here last June '24. But with her help I am getting it back into shape. They are very transparent about pricing too which is great. Every month they have 2-3 signature cocktails along with other beverages you can choose from if you would like and they have snacks lol! The salon itself is close to my home, clean, open and airy and definitely inviting. All of the staff are super friendly. I always have the best time when I go in to get my hair done. Sydney slayed my hair again yesterday with her amazing talent. They now have 3 locations, one in Columbia, SpringHill and Franklin. I told Sydney yesterday I will follow her wherever she goes b/c it's so hard to find someone like here. Usually when I have moved somewhere new it's taken 2 or 3 people changes before I find someone. I got my haircut here because Uncle Barbour shop was totally booked and they recommended this place Funny name, and I didn't want to come out of there looking like Barbie.. but I do have long hair and I thought they could probably do something with it Much to my surprise.... I got the best haircut I've ever had from Kathy ! She's great. She did a cool "fade" on the sides and back which is very hip And she left the rest of the hair long BUT layered so it could be pulled back into a man bun or let down like rock 'n' roll style Surprisingly ...she is just the level one in this place So you pay more as the levels go up probably meaning years of experience or whatever so for just $31 yes. On the fly, I needed a professional look, flying to Tampa the next day for a high profile wine event. It was my first time at this salon based off of a recommendation from a friend. Keep in mind, my hair is my BABY. The second I walked in, I was greeted by a couple of the friendly staff. My stylist was Adriana, and although I'm assuming they'd consider her a "Level 1" (she's just starting out there), she was excellent. I told her what I wanted and even showed some pictures and she gave me exactly what I asked for. As far as the environment goes, I was able to have conversations with a couple of the other stylists and they were super nice!! I called ahead of time to ask for prices. I was told $28 for an eleven year old. I was never at anytime informed there would be an additional $17 fee if the hair is long. The cut did not include layers or anything special, just straight across. Took the stylist all of 5 minutes and I was charged $45 for something I was told would be $28. And per the picture, it's uneven. Since i brought a set amount of cash, the extra charge ate up the tip I planned to leave. I recently relocated to Spring Hill and one of my biggest worries was finding a stylist that I liked in town. Fortunately I was referred to this stellar place! My hair is healthier than it has been in years! I took the chance on a new style and it is great. I get so many compliments on my cut and color. Everyone is beyond friendly here and all are so talented. Due to scheduling conflicts I have had to use a couple different stylists. No issue at all as they ALL have over the top skills! I had a spa facial with Emily today. Wow it was fantastic! She takes you in a quiet dim room with a reclining chair that resembles a bed. The "bed" is so warm and comfy! She took her time cleansing, massaging, extracting, and putting masks and serums on. She also massages my neck/chest, hands, and feet. I felt like I was floating on a cloud during and after this facial! Aside from the facial itself, Emily is so sweet and caring. I will definitely be back for another spa facial!! read more

Normally i do not write reviews so pls read !! being a 16 year old girl i wanted to get my hair done. I went to this salon as i had heard good things from friends. For context i HAD extremely long thick and healthy hair. When i got to the salon i showed her pictures said i wanted to stay mostly brunette with just some blonde and money pieces she quoted me over 200 dollars. When she was brushing out my wet hair clumps of it were falling out into the brush and i was mortified. As she finally finished my hair it was ORANGE and completely different then what I had asked for. I was so shocked I didn't even say anything and went home. Finally decided to call after crying for hours and see if i could get something at least similar to what i wanted. Went back and it is now fully blonde which is better then the Orange but still so unhappy. My hair constantly falls out and has completely lost its volume and shine. I still cry about it to this day and have lost so much self confidence. my hair used to be my favorite part about me and now i hate it so much. I paid hard money i worked for as a full time high school student as well and really am just so disappointed. I had members of the team tell me it didn't look close to what i asked for but it was pretty so it's fine !! I would be ok if it's not what I asked for but brushing out clumps of hair and leaving it orange is unacceptable!! I still brush out my hair very softly and it falls out and breaks i now have clumps in my hair that are maybe one or two inches long. It is so disheartening to have braided my hair this morning and noticed the very apparent thinning. Oh, where to start? Probably one of the worst salon experiences I've ever had. I had recently moved to the area from out of state and was looking for a new salon. I had used box color on my hair the previous day, and called the next morning seeing if I could have help in evening it out. I was told I would have a "consultation" with Melissa, and if she had time she would do my hair. Upon arrival, I met with Melissa who informed me that this was something she could do and she did have the time. Close to 4 hours later, I left with orange hair (especially the top four inches of my hair), patchy spots all over upon further inspection at home (my husband asked me if I noticed I looked like I was wearing an orange bowl on my head when I walked in), a COMPLETELY bleached shirt (by Sundry-- so, not cheap), my free people jacket was also bleached all over the collar, I wasn't even wearing it, she was just that messy. It felt very amateurish. Best part, the $500 bill. Most I've ever ever ever paid for my hair. Ever. Especially that type of experience. I called back to speak with someone after leaving as the stylist left when it was time to pay the bill and I was unable to discuss it. The girl at the front had rang me up, and I wanted to be sure it wasn't a mistake. I talked with a very nice lady over the phone who explained that I should've been given this information PRIOR to doing my hair and I should've had to sign something. She apologized and said she'd have a manager call. The next day the stylist called, left a message, said "sorry for you shirt" again and that was about it. The ONLY reason I'm leaving this review is my friend owns a salon in San Diego and was so blown away and appalled as a salon owner by my experience. She informed me that this is something they need to be transparent about and I never should've been blindsided with such a high ticket. She strongly suggested I share my story as the salon has had ample time to make it right. My hair is naturally curly, and I was hopeful it'd blend in and hide a bit more of the color, but no such luck. (Although, it's a good thing it IS curly I guess because it blends it some--when it's straight it's truly horrific with noticeable "polka dots".) Moved to the area and was looking for a easy single color touch up. Heard this place was really good so I thought I'd give it a try. I called to get pricing and really was quite appalled at the amount salons around here charge for color. I've been to salons in Chicago and they didn't even charge this much! Anyway, I decided to go with a level 1 stylist because really it's just a simple root touch up. I can't justify paying $90 starting for that when I can pay $70 and get the same outcome. Plus my hair grows like weed and I need color every 4 weeks. Walking into the salon I was a bit taken back, I expected a nicer, high end salon considering your charging outrageous prices! I didn't think this place was anything above a fantastic Sams. Anyway, I get my hair done, nothing fancy or fabulous, again just color in a box professionally done. My hair grows fast but dang within a week I'm seeing greys again!! Whatever, I blame it on my hair. After a couple visits I realize this is ridiculous and cannot keep paying $90 with tip , just for color btw, with no haircut. So I looked elsewhere to get my hair done. I actually tried the Aveda school and absolutely love them. The price is fabulous, I've never had a bad job, and the color stays in my hair sometimes up to 4 weeks before I see any grey. I just moved here to the area. I had seen this salon online; called and made an appointment. They never discussed pricing, just told them I wanted highlights and a haircut. At the beginning I was so impressed with my stylist. I got a full set of highlights, along with a hair cut. The stylist took a long time with my hair, which was great I felt good about what she was doing. Finished with the foil. Now you wait. Usually my previous stylist let my hair cook for 20-25 minutes. Now I had forgotten this; but this stylist left it on for over 45 minutes before checking me. Wayyy to long. I am a brunette. By the time she checked me I was a total blond highlights. So she had to put Toner on, she finished with that; still toooo blond so she used Toner again. It's now 2 1/2 hours later, I wanted a hair cut of 4 in. but she didn't listen she only took off a inch. By now it's 3 1/2 hours later, I'm not happy with my hair. It's bland, no highlights showing. She's got another customer that's waiting. I had to get going. Walked up to the counter, Kim the mgr. said the total for today was $378.00. WHAT??? No way, so I put back the Shampoo & Conditioner the price was now $298.00. I'm freaking out my last stylist charged $75.00 for full highlights and $40.00 for a haircut $115.00 I said you've got to be kidding, Kim looked me up, I guess I had a file and it didn't say who was the receptionist who booked my appointment; so I didn't know that my stylist was a Level 4 Stylist. Average schooling for a stylist is 9 months to a year depending on the state. I wasn't even going to complain but, my hair is falling out in clumps. It's ruined!! I will say Kim was offering me to come back free of charge to get it looking better, but I had a family emergency I never got to go back. I made an appointment for my son this evening for a haircut. We arrived a few minutes early and got checked in. This included sanitizing our hands and getting our temperature checked. First off, the girl wanted to shoot the ray at our foreheads... you know, right at our pineal gland. I explained to her that the wrist gives an accurate read and doesn't pose any long term health concerns. Then, I was told that my son had to wear a mask during his haircut. She said it was the law. So, in Williamson County, it is not the law for under the age of 12. The reason for this is that the top medical professionals in the country recognize it's not safe for younger kids. When I said this to her, she said her kids wear masks all day and are fine. So, now I'm arguing with a hairdresser about medical data. I work in the medical field. I'm following the CDC guidelines. She then announced that her current client has cancer (at this point I'm glad she can't have her license revoked for HIPAA violation because again, she's NOT in healthcare). The owner was called, who couldn't be bothered to talk to me tonight. Overall, it was an unbelievable experience of unwarranted snottiness and unprofessionalism. She'll likely see my reviews posted all over the mom's groups on Facebook as well. Such a shame. read more

This was my second time at this salon as my first time was a few years ago and I remember I was not impressed. This time they moved a few doors down. While the space is bigger it is very sterlie and not relaxing. There is no privacy as everyone in the room can hear your conversation which leads to no one talking and it's very uncomfortable. Very little decor, and just seems like a cheap set up. This is not the type of hair salon I am use to. I went in and asked for just an inch off! Seems simple right? She cut off 2-3 inches as I noticed from the hair on the floor she cut, it was more than an inch. I only wanted an inch because I am scheduled to see my regular stylist at the end of April who is a genius with the scissors and let him do his magic with my hair. Hair will grow back but I hate paying for a bad cut. Then the left side of my hair was longer than the right which I had to point out and she tried to fix but I had to fix this at home with my own scissors and thin out my hair which I asked to be done too which was not. I asked for the ends to be turned under and she was using too big of a round brush for my hair as if you use the thinner round brushes their better for putting the ends of hair under. I was told because my hair was hitting my shoulders it kept flipping up and that she would flat iron it under. Well no surprise that was not done correctly either and I heard the same excuse. After all the sad attempts to try to do my hair, the cape was taken off and hair flew all over my pants and I was told to be careful walking through my hair. Seriously, how about dusting off the cape or removing it correctly, and sweeping up the hair before I step out of the chair. I went home and flat ironed my hair and no shocker the ends turned under just as I requested. $41 for a cut that was not even, and was not styled correctly. If I have to put my hair back in a ponytail right after going to the salon, that's bad! I usually pay $55 for a hair cut with one of the best hair stylists in Nashville who works off Music Row and is the stylist to many country music artists. Unfortuantely I needed a cut after work and my time did not allow to see my usual hair stylist but it's sad to see what other salons are charging for work as pathetic as what I experienced. Real stylist with experience and professionalism. My regular stylist is Holly and I recommend her all the time. However, on occasion when my schedule has been way last minute, I've used a few other stylist if Holly was on vacation and I've never had a bad experience. The salon is impeccably clean and they all provide fabulous shampoos complete with head and neck message!
