I went here instead of my regular place due to scheduling. The lady that welcomed me was very nice and friendly. I learned that she couldn't do my nails because she didn't know how to do dip. The next lady seemed very inconvenienced that she had to do my mani and pedi at first. Fast forward a week: my toes are chipping all around my toes which is something I never experienced within a week of getting them done. And one of my finger nails was splitting in half. I went the following morning as soon as they opened to avoid appointments etc. I was basically dismissed because I didn't have an appointment although their sign says "walk ins welcome". Instead of taking the dip completely off and starting over she decided to just put more dip on top. Which, I asked her why considering my nail was split underneath. Her response was that she does it like this all the time. Well, 3 days later, my nail fully split in the middle of the nail bed. This was an additional 4 days of pain that could have been avoided had they just fixed them correctly. I won't be coming back here. read more

Literally the WORST pedicure I've ever had. For starters, I called before hand and was told to come in. When I get there, nobody unlocked the door for me. I had to call THREE times to be allowed in the building (yes, I had a mask). I was sat with my feet soaking for over 30 minutes before someone actually came to assist me. Upon the actual pedicure, everything was rushed and not competed. My pedicure person didn't clip my toenails all of the way. They're literally pointing to the left. She was attempting to get to her next client to the point she failed to touch the backs of my feet. This was the worst pedicure I've ever had... word to the manager, organize. My poor friend who came with me actually didn't have a chance to have a pedicure because they took forever. DO NOT RECOMMEND. I'd like my $40.00 back. read more

I had a mani/pedi on a Thursday to go to a celebration of life out of state. I drove all day Friday to get there...9 hrs. Saturday, getting ready for the event, I noticed that my color had badly faded. it was embarrassing. the manicurist talked me into a "gel". Fast forward, I then drove to another state to take care of my Mom for 2 weeks so my sister could go on a vacation. Another 9 hr drive. While there, checking out groceries, the cashier asked what color I was wearing. I told her "gel gone bad". We laughed. In researching gel nails I found out that sunlight fades them. Hello 18 hrs of driving! Why wouldn't they tell you that? I got home Sunday from TX (14 hr drive) and went to the salon Tuesday morning. I spoke with the manager, who was not willing to listen as soon as she heard the problem. She spoke over me, repeated herself that they do not give refunds, and had the audacity to tell me that I should have called her that Saturday morning when I noticed the color change. was she going to drive 9 hrs to fix it?? why would I call her? She mentioned the owner so I asked to speak with them. She informed me that they were out of the country. Yay for them, but maybe have a more customer service oriented person in charge. This woman was downright rude. I provided dated pictures to her to prove when this happened. She wouldn't budge or refund. She was gracious enough not to charge me to have the nails removed. The girl that removed them told me it happens all the time. I told her they should let people know. They charge enough, they should stand behind their products. I went in for a gel manicure and was seated right away. I was there for almost an hour, which is way too long for a gel mani. I was not offered anything to drink the whole time I was there. I feel like my manicurist did a lazy job.. my nails do not look even and the edges do not feel smooth.. Also, during my manicure she picked up and was on a personal phone call. It's my second time here, my first experience was great and my nails looked wonderful. I would go back however not with this girl.. She removed existing gel polish, had me manicured, and re-polished within about 30 mins! I was very pleased with results and the efficiency. The salon itself seemed clean and well-maintained. I used to go to Essence before they swapped owners & everyone became extremely rude. I had my nails done by Cameron who did a great job, so a few days later i went back to get my toes done. I was with a friend and when we walked in everyone just looked at us & kept on doing what they were doing. We wrote our names down on their check in sheet and sat down to wait. Not thinking a thing of it, Cameron came and asked who was next & we said that we were. My friend was getting powder dip so they went ahead and sat her down to do her nails. The entire time they were doing her nails no one became available and no one came in so I'm thinking Im still in line for my pedicure. Toward the very end of my friend's nails being done a couple came in for a pedicure. Mind you I have probably been waiting ~40 mins, but that was ok because I was under the impression that I was next. Cameron then went to turn on two pedicure chairs and then returned to my friend when I reminded her "I'm waiting for a pedicure too, just to remind you." She then said, "Ugh well you didn't tell me" In which I responded, "No one asked and I wrote it on the sheet." She walked away and prepared my pedicure chair and did my entire pedicure without speaking to me. Not to mention we complimented her work MANY times and she ignored us every single time. She was extremely rude & so was the lady doing the girl's nails next to us. I felt very unwelcomed and will not be returning due to the overall negative energy toward the customers at this place. Popped in for a pedicure mid-afternoon on a Thursday. Didn't have to wait too long. I had the hot stone pedicure, which was very relaxing. My manicurist was friendly and nice. I also had my eyebrows waxed. The price for the hot stone pedicure was a little high from what I am used to ($50), but service was good. This place was ok. The place was empty; there were only about 4 or 5 people in the spa. My mom was seated right away because she was getting a pedicure, but I waited at least 5 minutes for my manicure. When I was seated, she was pretty nice. What I didn't like was when she put my nails in the water to do another girls' nails. By the time she took them out, they were starting to wrinkle. Also, when she pushed back my cuticles, one of them started to bleed. She didn't take off my last nail polish all the way; she left most of it on there. Another thing was when a man walked in saying, "I'm here for my nails." One of the women said "It's gonna be at least an hour wait." I absolutely love this nail spa! My nails always always always turn out perfect! If I ever rush, and go somewhere else , I regret it every time and come back to essence to fix them! I can only hope that the mani/Pedis are better than the customer service - I walked in to give them a try - looking for a nail place close to home - it was almost 4:00 & apparently they close @ 5:00 ( I didn't know this) - when I walked in - I was asked what I needed & I replied mani/pedi... so she says something to another manicurist - nothing to me - didn't speak the language so I had no idea what was said. so I waited a few minutes & said how long will it be? I could see that they were busy. and the other manicurist spoke up and said about 40 minutes. So I said ok I will come back and the first lady said we close at 5:00! no apologies - nothing.
