I don't normally write reviews, but I figured I should share since I never had such a bad experience at a nail salon. The lady doing my pedicure would not stop asking me if I wanted a deluxe pedicure. I said 5 times no I just want the classic. She would not stop. Then she pointed to the heals of my feet, like they bad, when I had a pedicure 2 months ago. I asked her if classic not take care of the heals and pointed to the word showing classic does work on heals. Then she used a sander to take my regular nail polish off. I didn't understand what she doing. I couldn't understand a word she saying. She mumbled and was so quiet. I had to keep saying "what I can't hear her you." Then she harassed me to get gel nail polish. Again I had to keep saying no I don't want gel just regular nail polish, and her trying to convince me to use gel. I shouldn't have to explain to her why I don't want or like gel. I get the bill and am charged $5 for taking my nail polish off and was told because they had to take off my prior gel nail polish. I had to explain it was regular nail polish and I don't like gel again. A woman manager came up to me with a nasty attitude and said is there a problem! Finally a young nice man, who speaks clearly and listens, said would take care of it. When I waiting for my nails to dry close to door, that same woman left the door opened for 3 minutes in 25 degrees weather. This was my sister's birthday and ended up being a very stressful frustrating bad time. read more

I have been coming to Luxx Nail bar for almost 6 months. I've previously had good experiences. However, today I presented for a dip manicure per usual. My dip has ALWAYS been soaked off but my nail tech Katie decided to try and rip them off with a nail tip. Doing so damaged and ripped my natural nail off. I like my nails longer which is why I choose dip as I don't want to get tips. I had 1 broken nail on my right hand which she started with pulling the dip off. I understand this as there wasn't much left. She did use the electric file on 2 nails but stopped pulled off another nail with a tip which was fine didn't tip the nail. However she then proceeded to the rest of the hand. 3/5 nails on my right hand would now be ripped down to nubs due to pulling the dip off. At this point I was already upset and she proceeded with the left hand trying to pull the dip off which ripped all 5 nails. After she was done she looked at me and asked if I wanted tips put on. I did get tips as I had no nail length at all. However if she would have soaked them off this would not of been an issue. I also had to pay an additional $10 for the tips she now needed to put in due to her mistake. Very disappointed. For the manicure portion of this experience she soaked my hands for about 20 seconds before pulling them out of the water to clean up skin and cuticles. She seemed rushed and uninterested. If I do return I would not recommend Katie. read more

This was my second time to receive a pedicure, the callouses on my feet need some attention. Luxx is in my area and it seemed to be a good choice. The interior is nice and the front desk host was very welcoming. The technician providing the service was unfriendly, provided a poor quality service and rushed through the job without providing all the listed items for the Deluxe Pedicure as presented on their website. When I questioned her she told me she would charge more. Basically I received a rushed poor quality service with the technicians intent to try to upcharge me more. I spoke with the manager, who was kind and attentive to what I had to say, and provided me with a discount for not receiving the full service as presented on their website. I would have given them just one star based on the rudeness and poor workmanship of the technician, but decided to give two stars because the front desk staff and manager were very nice. read more

Went for pedicure yesterday, and such a bad experience. I have come here many times before, but stopped going after I was never happy with my acrylics. My mom said give it a chance for my pedicure, so I did, and was greatly disappointed. When I sat down, I had told her that I want white gel polish, with acrylic on my big toe because I like them to be a bit longer and square. She just told me okay- about halfway through when I looked down after she had finished putting the acrylic on, I noticed that they were filed pretty much as short as my nails would allow, and one of my toes was bleeding because she had cut it with her electric file. I told her I want them longer, thats not what I want, I want them long and square. She basically dismissed me and said too late- i already put the acrylic on, we'll do it next time. I went to my regular place right after I walked out the door and got them fixed. I will never be going back here. read more

I almost feel like this text message is a little menacing. I cannot believe this is how a BUSINESS OWNER behaves. UPDATE: The manager (I'm assuming) decided to confront me about my Yelp review when I was trying to pay for my service. He was very rude and told me he did not want my business. I offered many times to pay for it and he rudely declined each time. He would not let me tip the tech on my card or give her cash. I really hope someone reviews customer service with this staff. I would have settled for paying and tipping the original tech and having someone fix the issues and still tipping them as well. Or even a discount on a service in the future. Super unprofessional for him to not let me pay or at least tip the lady. ******************************************* Take your money somewhere else. I had an appointment for a pedicure and full set. I was so disappointed. I went to get my nails done for my graduation and payed almost $100 for the worst nails I've ever seen. I asked for a beautiful, thin and natural french manicure and got uneven pink nails with thick french tips. Even after showing my nail tech a picture of exactly what I wanted and told her a number of times she wasn't doing them the way I liked, she brushed me off and continued to do her own thing. My daughter and I went to Luxx Nails Bar for the first time, and it was a great experience! My daughter tried powder dip nails and I wanted a regular manicure, no gel. Tina worked on my daughter, and did a beautiful job, including some glittery nail art. Tiffany did a very nice job on my nails, but I managed to get a couple of dings and scratches on them right away. Benny quickly tried to repair my nails twice, and told me they will repair any nail for free that is damaged over the next 7 days. Tina then suggested that I redo my entire manicure to gel (shellac), which is much stronger and long lasting, and offered to do it for no extra charge! I usually do my own nails and rarely go to a salon, but wanted my nails to last for an upcoming vacation so I agreed. Tina worked diligently on my nails, and even included some floral nail art. Both Tina and Benny stayed at the salon for two hours past their normal closing time to make sure we were happy! I feel like the technicians are always rushing me through the mani and pedi looking for the next customer, often starting on the next customer before finishing with me. I never get a confirmation back, and when I called I was told "If you don't get a confirmation back, that means we are booked". Went in two days ago for my sister's wedding. There was a group of us. Out of the 6 of us, only one didn't get cuts or bleed on some part of their finger nail or toe. Unfortunately, I got the worst experience. My mom told ALL of the tech's beforehand what services we were getting done. My manicure is what started the horror. My water was burning my feet. Asked three times for the temperature to be adjusted before it was even bearable. She didn't clean out under my toes, she also didn't ask me what shape of nail I wanted, and anytime I asked for anything, eyes were rolled. After my nail tech finished my manicure (which was the quickest one I've ever received) 10 min before anyone else was done, I went to get my pedicure done. She sat me off to the very end of the row so I couldn't sit next to anyone else in the wedding party, my sister included. For my pedicure, she sat me down, grabbed towels to wrap my arms (which comes standard at a lot of nail places), and then started telling me about a combo pack. I told her to talk to my mom because she was the one who decided on everything. She explained none of the money or "combo package" to my mom until she was done with it. The nail tech claimed she didn't know... she did. When I realized a part of my nail was sitting higher due to a clump on shellac polish on it, my nail tech pretended not to see it the four times I pointed it out, and then claimed she did it to make my nail "even." My nail isn't lop-sided or uneven..... After leaving the nail salon, three of my finger nails were cut and bleeding. Now, two days later, my big toe was in so much pain it woke me up in the middle of the night. It is red, swollen, and when I squeezed it, white and clear liquid came out from my skin by my nail. My toe is infected and I will have to go on antibiotics (I am pregnant, so this makes me VERY upset), and one of the fingers that was cut is still sore, to the point where I'm wondering if it is infected as well. DO NOT GO HERE. It really is unfortunate, because based on their reviews, we should've received a tremendous service and quality nail experience. It was my first time. Very convenient check in process. Plenty of tables and chairs. Only thing I misunderstood was that I assume they serve alcohol.
