None of them could get me in when I wanted, which was same day or at least this weekend, (which I totally get - I was looking for a last minute haircut when salons are just opening back up). So I searched in Centennial and found this salon and after reading the very positive reviews, decided to call. Fariba got me in within a few hours! When I got there, I looked in the mirror, and realized I hated the box dye job I had done since I couldn't get my normal color from Sally's due to COVID. I asked if she could maybe help with the color and she helped me select the perfect shade. She understood IMMEDIATELY the kind of haircut I wanted and worked with my fine but wavy/curly/straight-depending-on-which-strand-you-are-looking-at hair with a confidence and expertise that I haven't really seen before. She totally understood how to cut my hair, and did a fabulous job creating the look I wanted. She was clearly more interested in making sure I was happy than she was with just making money. She could have taken less time or charged more and it would have been "fine". But she is clearly not interested in providing an experience that is just fine- what she provides is excellence and I feel so lucky to have found her. I can't wait to go back! As it turned out, I am either not fat enough or too tall to qualify for the program that I wanted. But since I'm not entirely sure of my height, we scheduled another appointment two weeks away, during which Simona would measure me. I decided that I would start using heavy weights again to build muscle, since a foot fracture derailed my workouts and caused weight gain. However...I then decided that I probably am too tall and still might not qualify. And I likely couldn't gain significantly more muscle in two weeks. So I went on Groupon to get a refund. To my COMPLETE surprise, my Groupon had been redeemed without my knowledge or consent. I called, and it was explained to me that they always redeem the Groupons upon arrival, in order to prevent people from getting the service and then claiming a refund. While I understand that concern, it's a terrible business practice to do that BEFORE determining eligibility. I probably did look fat enough, as I was wearing a baggy sweatshirt over leggings. I was not told that they had redeemed my Groupon, probably because I had scheduled a new appointment. I told them that, commonly, providers ask me to pull up the voucher AFTER the service, or, if it's a facial treatment, sometimes when I arrive. And then *I* mark it as used in front of them. This action cannot be undone, so the provider is protected. I think this is a MUCH better practice, especially when there are eligibility requirements. As a side note, I am appalled to learn that people try to scam providers. Ugh. Shameful. Simona promptly sent the email confirming my ineligibility, which Groupon requires for a refund, and for that I'm grateful. I gave five stars because although I was initially very disappointed, then furious, the situation was handled as well as possible. I'm going to look at some of their other services, since I likely won't qualify for the one that I purchased.
