I used to get my nails done here. The last no chip I got done here was an absolute shit job. When I went back in less than a week later, my nails had turned from gray to a brownish black. I wanted my nails redone because I had paid $35 for a no chip that was not what I paid for. The lady in charge told me that it was my fault that my nails turned that color. She told me that it was from a suntan lotion I had used. Excuse me? It's the middle of winter, and I am as pale as can be. I haven't used any suntan lotions because it's 5 degrees out, and I don't go tanning, which is pretty obvious by the color of my skin. So they refused to redo my no chip for me, and I let them know that that is bullshit, and I will never go here again. So if you enjoy overpaying for a service that won't even last a week, luxury nails in elmhurst is the place for you! Have fun sitting there getting your shit job no chip done while all the employees babble in their own language about God knows what, and answering calls on their personal phones while you get your nails done. read more

Not happy. Technician was really nice, but very rushed. Filed my nails angled unevenly, which I only noticed at the end, when it was too late to fix. Also, put a third coat of polish on, because the color was uneven in the first two coats. I had chosen a sheer pink, which turned out opaque, due to the third coat. Not at all what I wanted. I won't go back. read more

I want to love this place, but I don't. I have taken my mom, my sister and my niece there for a couple of years to give them a chance, but it doesn't get better. The staff is pleasant and talks more to each other in a different language than they talk to you. Yesterday I went to try tips, Anne, the technician seemed so bothered by my questions. She would only answer in yes or no answers and was barely pleasant. She wasn't mean or rude but by no means was she friendly. I felt like it was a bother for me to be getting my nails done. Eeeesh! I tried to turn it around and ask her is she was having a nice day but no dice. She simply said, Yes. As for her work, it was fine. My tips came out flat not dome like like my natural nail bed. Like I said, I want to love this place because it's convenient, plenty of parking and prices are fair, but it's not that a good feeling to sit for an hour and pay some one yo do your nails when they are so unpleasant. read more

I have been coming here for a few years now and will not be going back. I had a bad experience this past Saturday. I made an appointment the day prior for a manicure and pedicure. On my way to the appt. i got stuck in traffic and decided to call and let them know i may be about 5-10 mins late. (I have been going to the same nail technician who i really like) When i called to let them know, the receptionist named "MY" was very rude. When I arrived 5 minutes late i said that i would be ok with the technician doing one or the other if she could just do a no-chip. "My" walked away without saying anything, came back and reprimanded me in front of customers sitting in the chairs waiting. "You need to be specific when you call and make your appointment". Her face turned red and she raised her voice. I stared at her and thought to myself, did she really just yell at me?? Im a paying customer and have been coming here for 2 years minimum. They technician said to me "well, she is the manager and can say whatever she wants". VERY disappointed to say the least. This is NOT how you treat customers- there are PLENTY of other good nail places in the area! So long Luxury! read more

This is by far my favorite nail salon. I normally like going to spa type nail salons but this place is beautiful. They do a great job (best pedicure ive ever gotten) AND compared to salons who charge 50 for a mani pedi this place charges 35 and blows them out of the water. Luxury, after i learned this weekend going to a new nail salon and having them mess up my nails, i will never stray far from you again... :) read more

I used to love this place and was a very loyal customer. My last visit was disappointing at best. Staff was pushy and rude throughout the entire appointment. They wouldn't give me five seconds to choose a color without breathing down my neck and trying to hurry me along. Needless to say, I will not be returning. If you're looking for a new nail salon, don't waste your time here. read more

I have been going to luxury nails since they opened. In the beginning the service was amazing, I wouldn't go anywhere else! However, now it's been terrible. They are so busy that everything is rushed and they do a sloppy job. Unfortunately, it's been like this consistently for months now. I won't be going back. read more

Stacey is a Magician. She takes my worn and tired feet and turn them into soft, beautiful works of art. No matter how I'm feeling when I walk in I know that once I sit in that chair, it will be pure paradise. She scrubs, rubs, massages, washes, shaves, paints, designs....I feel like a new person when I'm done and can't wait until the next time. The shop is decorated nice and I've been going for years so most of the techs are nice enough. Hannah or Holly does my nails and they do an awesome job. It's always crowded but I make an appointment and they always take me when I walk in. You can't beat that. I'm a very satisfied customer. read more

I've been coming here for a little over 2 years now and i live in rosemont. Plenty of other places around my area but i choose to drive the 15 mins to elmhurst because of Quinnie! She's the best and I've been going to her for the 2 years. If she isn't available because she's that good, I usually go to Johnny who is awesome too! I bite my tongue when it comes to things like rude negative people in a establishment but i cant anymore. Not when i drive this far just for my nails. The new receptionist is the rudest person I've ever encountered while walking into a salon or any place for that matter! She's not only rude to me, and i come often, i hear how she speaks to other people and it's disgusting! If it weren't for me loving Quinnie and Johnny, I'd leave this place in a heartbeat! It's your nail techs that keep me coming back....I wish i could say she's only been rude once, but no! She's constantly rude every single time i come in! She's lucky i have class and respect otherwise i would've ripped her a new asshole for being such a bitch. read more

I called on a Sunday afternoon asking if there was an opening for a pedicure. I was told that I could just walk in (this to me means they are not busy and can accommodate me in a timely manner - 10-15 min within walking in). When I arrived 15 minutes after calling the place was packed and there were four ladies already waiting. I asked how long the wait was and was told 15 minutes. After about 10-15 minutes I was asked to come back and sit in a pedi chair with my feet soaking in the tub. Great, I thought, the wait actually turned out to be as expected. After sitting with my feet soaking for 30 minutes and not being acknowledged once, I got up to leave. "All of a sudden" it was "oh, we'll be ready for you in a minute!" Too late. I walked my money right out the door. read more

I like this place, however I swear I had a salesperson for my nail tech! She wouldn't take no for an answer that I wanted to get a basic pedi. She kept on me saying why don't I just get the deluxe one with the parffin and how nice it is etc. I got sick of her pressuring me and finally just agreed. It was nice but honestly I wouldve rather gotten a Mani and pedi for the $$. Their basic pedi are nice too. I've never had a mani there yet. It's always crowded but wait isn't usually too bad... read more

I started going here about 3 years ago. The service for gel nails and pedicures was great! The place was clean. The last few times not so much, nail drying station fan is caked with dust balls, and the fire department & paramedics were there, a lady was cut while getting a pedicure and it would not stop bleeding. It's a busy place but they have let it go, light fixtures are caked with dust and staff not as friendly. I'm looking for a new nail salon. read more

I've been here three times and it really is hit or miss. On my most recent visit, I came as soon as they opened and they seemed inconvenienced by me. The tech rushed through my manicure and my nails had uneven sharp edges and the polish was uneven too. The previous time however I experienced a great, friendly tech that took her time with me and also did my eyebrows perfectly! I would recommend going, but be warned the service is definitely inconsistent. read more

Love my tech he is awesome! Ty is the only one that does my nails how I love them. It's too bad the manager there needs serious customer service skills. She claims to be the owner and yet she was careless to accommodate a customer. I came in two hours before to wait for him and yet after my pedi she sat me with someone else. When I asked her she said he was not available. I only needed a fill and it was still 45min left before closing. I looked over and he was polishing another customer. Why couldn't she accommodate me? When I went to ask her she was rude and asked me to sit down. She grabbed a phone and threw it. How unprofessional! I feel bad for the staff there. She is horrible. All I wanted was my fill and she created a huge deal and lost 5 customers. It stinks bc Ty is really good, but I won't be coming back. read more

Great decor. But too expensive plenty of other places around do more for less and a better job. I hate it when you get a weak handed 30sec pedicure massage. read more

The staff goes out of their way to accommodate you. Even if you show up shortly before they close. My nails always look great, and the pedicures are not rushed, and very relaxing. This is the only place I go now...it's clean and modern. read more

This place is going downhill fast. Ever since they changed ownership, the place has fallen apart. Other than the few people who have worked here for years, the rest of the staff is unfriendly, and the manager/ owner is about as rude as they come. I type this as I am sitting waiting for a pedicure, my toes now cold prunes, as they have been soaking in the freezing cold water for 40 minutes. Rest assured they told me I'm next . I have given this place one too many tries since they changed owners, and needless to say I'm going to dry off my feet, leave and choose to never return. There are plenty of other places to try out in the Elmhurst area. I'm sure I'm not the first one of your long time customers that won't be back. read more

Went there on a Friday at 5 for a no chip and pedi, was packed! Waited 15 min and got a pedicure from a great girl-think it was Amy? She was very personalble, quick and so sweet. Unlike other nail salons the staff is fully fluent in English and you can understand every word they are saying-at least the 2 I got. Andrew did my no chip and did a fab job, his hand massage was the best! Would recommend this place for sure. read more

I've been going here for months for my no chip manicures. They do a great job and love the price. I was very happy when I learned they have the same polish/shellac (CND) as my salon but are $10 cheaper. Highly recommend! read more

All I can say is don't bother. The girl who did my manicure literarily just went through the motions. Waste of money!

Very disappointed, after going to lux. nails several times, I unfortunately walked out in the middle of the services because of their personal greed and rudeness towards me. read more

The only reason I'm giving 1 star is because Yelp won't allow zero stars. I'm not sure I've ever dealt with more unprofessional people in any line of business. The man and woman manager that sit at the front desk have to be two of the rudest people I've ever met - and I'm in sales and travel extensively meeting all kinds of folks! I always make an appointment with my usual girl and when she's running late, 15 minutes or more, I ask them how much longer she will be and the attitude and slicing words that are said back to me is just appalling. "Why do you ask this question every time?" "She will be done when she is done and then she take you!" I mean really? They don't make eye contact with you or say hello or goodbye. I have had it - I received my last service, thanked my girl for being great for the last 8 years and I have never went back again. I am sure those two have lost no sleep from my departure, but I feel better knowing I'm not contributing to their $2mm per year revenue business. (I worked in the luxury salon business and know revenues for these types of multiple stationed, heavy traffic, asian ran businesses). read more

Totally bummed. I often get my nails done at the same salon, but wanted to try something new on the way home. The salon was beautiful and looked clean. I got my nails done Thursday. On Friday on my big toe I had a pain like a hang nail and the toe was turning red. By Monday it began pussing and by Tuesday I could not walk. I had to go to the emergency due to high level of pain. I was diagnosed with paronychia or nail infection. I received three shots in my toe and had my toe sliced. Also, I am now on medication. I know this can happen anywhere, but be aware what is going on in the salon. Ask to see the cleaning check list, feel hotness of water, be aware the length between pedicure bowl usage (ten minutes in hot water), and make sure a new pumice is used. I think this salon needs to slow the pace and be aware of cleaning standards. read more

I have been to Luxury several times for no chips and for pedicures. The last time, though in early June the technician damaged the skin around my cuticles. Granted this was temporary and fortunately there was not infection. Bottom line for me is to have NO cutting. The skin near all 10 cuticles was peeling and red for about two weeks. Using olive oil and a topical steroid helped the skin. read more

I have been coming here for several years but after a few times of disappointing work, I will never return. I had a no chip done and within a few days it started to chip. I understand this happens and I was not upset it happened. I explained my situation to the nail technician and told her I was going on vacation. They wanted to charge me $40 to redo them when I had just got them done. While I was talking to her she started to ignore me and turned away, as to get herself out of the situation. She brought the price down, however I do not find it reasonable that they want to charge me. I didn't want to go in there and be rude in order to get "my way". It's truly disappointing that even if you're polite you get ignored. Once I saw this same situation play out, at the same place, however the woman was very annoyed and had to fight them to get her nails redone. I do not feel entitled to act this way and could never treat others this way, in order to get "my way". I dealt with this situation very calmly but on the inside I'm so upset I received this treatment. I really hope you guys all read this and take it seriously because this can honestly happen to you. A few weeks ago I was sitting next to the client that was receiving this treatment and in this situation it was me, and maybe next time it may be you. Lastly, a place with poor customer service and no empathy should receive loyal and respectful clients. Thank you all for taking the time to read my review and with that you can decide if you want to pick this place to get your nails done. read more

If you're African-American this is not the nail spa for you. This is my third visit . The first visit was good the second visit was not so good but it wasn't horrible but today's visit was awful. I was sent to a chair where the water was warm to cool no so I told the gentleman that was no so is it OK. After about 15 minutes of sitting in the chair a young lady came over to me middle-age and I asked if she could heat the water up a little bit make it warmer she told me she didn't think so. I said to her I want it warmer they are my feet she then took a bucket of water out turned the water on tell me it was cold and that was it she did not attempt to heat my water. We go onto the pedicure where she tell me take both my feet out,she put a little bit of the cuticle remover on my feet and begin to clip my cuticles. On the right foot, on the left foot she didn't even bother to push my cuticles back, she made clipping motions. I said that my right foot was still rough, she said you need to buy the callous remover. Then I asked her to put on my shoes she told me no, she would put my shoes on after she finished my manicure. I told her that I no longer wanted a manicure so I was ushered to the dryer. After about 5 minutes a different lady came over to spray th nail spray on my feet. I said to her they're not dry yet she said yes they are dry. At this tome she started putting on my shoes, an now she's mess up my polish, here comes a third lady who dabs the tip with my polish n told me to wait on the chair. She put a dab of polish on my feet with some cotton between my toe n walked away. At this point I'm done. My goose has been cooked. I left but I called back for a manager a man answered the phone and said you will never catch the manager here. I said you will never catch me there again either. Two minutes laterI receive a call from Tyler who said he was the manager n offered to redo my pedicure. I'm going to allow him to redo my feet but I won't go back here. Black people wake up don't pay for to be treated bad. I'm only going back because I paid for a pedicure, I want what I paid for. But this isn't the nail shop for us. They show you if you're paying attention. Awful place for us. Blatant racism. read more

I have been hopping around to several places, I used to go to Number 1 nails in Villa Park, Kelly Nails, Serenity Nails, Finally I found a place that I love. The wait time is minimal. This is the BEST nail salon I have ever been to! I started going to them when they first opened. I also got my nails done here for my wedding and they were superb. I will not ever go to this place again. Due to the lack of cleanliness and the treatment of customers. This nail salon has no care for its customers. I have watched many people walk out due to them not even greeting people as they come in. They only greet if the male owner is there which is rare. They are very unorganized and if you make an appointment it is rarely respected. When choosing a no-chip color I have watched them literally remove the basket from people to give to another customer because they are taking too long. Everything is such a rush and all about the money. They have very few techs who do a good job (about 2 or 3) but it is not consistent and their customer service is far from the best. They are more focused on talking than doing your nails to the point where they have forgotten steps. All they want to do is socialize rather than focus on doing a good job with your nails, to the point where I have had trouble butting in to discuss how I would like my nails and toes. Complaining is frowned upon and they will treat you even worse if you even mention a nail being crooked or you do not want a certain color. If you watch closely sometimes (if they think you are not looking) they do not clean out the pedicure bowls and my feet were itching from that before. They just throw the blue dust in one after another because of being so busy. The front desk woman is very abrasive and not friendly to say the least, she has an attitude most times from being overworked I assume. When you tip and you do not have cash and want to tip on your card they get very upset. They do not want to report it to the IRS so they get very huffy. I have had to literally apologize to the point where they have flat out asked me if I had cash or not. Unbelievable! I have never had that happen before! The whole thing is too stressful for me and I go to the salon to relax and be treated as if they care - but they are all about the money and will rush to get to the next one. I used to go to them due to being close until I saw the treatment of their customers and how they laugh and talk about them. I have even had a nail tech talk to me about customers (it was very bad business). They do this because they are one of the nicer looking nail salons in the area and they take full advantage of that fact. So people come for the environment but not expecting the not so good treatment and not having any idea they can and will be talked about. I have literally watched the owner recently yell at someone because they needed a nail fix and it was past one week. One nail. It was quite concerning because I have never thought there would be any reason to get testy with a customer. The owner went from one to ten pretty quickly. Once again - have never seen that happen. I found a much better nail salon that treats their customers as if they care if they ever come back. This place will only get business due to looking nicer than a few others in the area. The owner needs a class or two on management and so does all of his employees on customer service. I will not ever be back. One of those things you have to see for yourself. Good luck. read more

Not sure if it was a bad night but I had made an appointment for a friend & I to get a pedicure @ 6:30pm for a Friday night thinking it would be a good idea. Made the appointment a week in advance. Even called to confirm it. No one told me that your appointment means NOTHING! Got there on time and tried to sit down while they accepted a group of 8 8year olds to get a mani/pedi and two older women went before my appointment. When I asked when we will be next he said it will be a few minutes. As I looked around there wasn't a chair empty in sight! The guy told me he wasn't sure when I would be able to get in and that everyone had 6:30 appointments. I could understand that they were busy, but I guess making appointments is not what they are about. I felt as if I wasn't priority b/c of the 8 8year olds that went before me & my appointment. They were royalty! I will NEVER go back to that salon! I had been there a couple of times & didn't think they are as respectful as the other reviews state. Even they were rude to my daughter when she went there for a fun girls slumber party, slammed her hand down at the table b/c she wasn't paying attention when they needed her other hand. I am sorry but this place is where customer service goes to die! I will NEVER go back or refer anyone I respect to this place! They may be cheap but that's about it! Go somewhere else were they respect you & your time.... ALSO CHECK OUT THE REVIEWS ON YAHOO TOO! I THINK THE REAL STORIES ARE THERE! read more

I came here because of the yelp reviews and because I couldn't get in to my normal salon. I didn't expect what I'm used to, but I at least expected my nail polish to not be see through. I selected a bright blue because I knew I was seeing my normal girl in a week so I did something I normally wouldn't. The sample was oh so rich in color. I got a long great with my girl, we talked about her home town which I had been to and we laughed and it was all great until I looked at my nails and saw right through to the nail. She had accidentally put the correct amount of polish on only one if my nails so I asked her to do the remaining the same way. She got angry and said that was a mistake, it shouldn't look like that, which was exactly the way the sample nails look. She continued to have an attitude and even got angry when I paid with a credit card instead if cash. She even asked me, "don't you have cash?'' She was rude, unprofessional and my nails, if I didn't correct her, would not have looked good at all! I'm a firm believer that you get what you pay for, but I pay only $10 more normally and I have a great experience, have amazingly beautiful and well manicured nails, thick and lasting nail polish and I can pay how I choose without a guilt trip! read more

I was totally happy with the services I received the first time I went there. I had a fill in and a pedicure. Mary did a supurb job on the pedicure!!!! I actually splurged for the first time and got the "ultimate" choice and was HIGHLY happy. I also got a brow wax done and was very happy about that although it's really a little steep in price ($12). My nails needed a little bit more attention than just a fill. For those three services, I paid $112.00 plus tip of course. I wasn't too upset about the cost that time, but this last time, I just had a plain fill in. I currently have pink and white and have gotten several fills (not here). The most I ever paid for that service was $35. A just regular fill in at the top of the nail, I only paid $20. I was charged $35 for a plain fill in even though I had requested to have the white filled in too. She said we would fill it in the next time you come. I said alright but wasn't really thrilled about it. I figured since nothing "special" was done, I would only pay$20. When the other lady checked me out and said $35 I about fell out on the floor!!! I said are you serious???? I have never paid any where near that amount! I love the service, but not at almost double the cost! I would think that someone would want to build up there "loyal" customers, but I guess things like that don't matter at some salons. I went to the same woman for $15 because she was reasonable and never took advantage of me. When I moved to a different state for almost a year, I finally found someone FANTASTIC!!!, and I cried when I had to leave her! That is what I call taking care of your loyal customers. $20 for a fill in of just the upper nail, $35 for a complete pink and white fillin, and $40 for a full set. That I considered fair prices. She didn't charge to fix a nail or cut the nails down. I personally think that should go with any nail service and be included in the price. I feel that's when I leave a GOOD tip, but not when I feel like I was robbed blind! I went to another place before this one and they "nickel and dimed me" to $28 for a regular fillin, and I didn't go back. I will have to think about whether it is worth driving 30 minutes there (which for a good job I wouldn't mind doing), get overcharged, and then drive 30 minutes home. I am loyal and want to be treated as a loyal customer too. I think it all comes out in the wash so to speak. Treat people fairly and they will do the same. Other wise, the job done was very good. read more

This was my first time here and I had a pedi and the next day a manicure. I have a crack on the side of my large toenail and requested acrylic to smooth over the crack (done this before at other nail salons). It was crowded/long wait and toward the end of the day on a Sunday. It appeared that the nail was covered with acrylic correctly, however later I noticed a huge line where the tech did not cover the entire toe. The crack would have looked better than the line from the acrylic where it was not smoothed over and it made the nail polish look terrible. I gave 3 stars because I had to go back to the salon the next day and it get it fixed. The same girl fixed it and she was very nice, but appeared to know exactly why I came back.. I was disappointed that I had to return but I thought I'd give them another try and I got a mani. I loved the way she shaped my nails and made my large hands look more feminine. So, I rated 3 because the mani was better than the pedi with acrylic on my toenail. Will I return? Yes. The staff is friendly, though I was not offered water or soda or offered the rewards card. I will try again on another tech and make sure I communicate exactly what I want. read more
