I got dipped nails and they came out terrible! They are super thick and don't even feel like my own nails. It feels like I have "fake nails" which i can't stand...I hate them! Also, on the same day I got them, the top layer of one of the nails peeled partially off. On top of all of that, the lady that worked on my nails was quite frankly rude. She spent much of the time chatting loudly in another language and uproariously laughing. While she should have been focusing on my nails, she kept stopping to look over at other workers and chat with them and then laugh loudly in my ear. They are sincerely the best at customer service and nails. They do a great, thorough job and they never rush. They always greet me by my name, no matter how long it's been since I've come in. I have a full time job and two kids so I'm often that customer that comes at the last limit and they have kept their shop open for me after hours and offered me additional services even though they were closing. I had Kevin, and I learned quickly that he is a requested nail technician and after seeing how mine turned out, I agree. He did so well and is such a perfectionist. RUN FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT! This use to be one of my favorite nail shops; not anymore. I stop going there once they started putting polish on my skin instead of my nails, and the staff started to become rude. My daughter stopped going because of the rudeness and not feeling welcomed, but she decided to give them another try and went there for a full-set and received a horrible job. She explained to them before leaving that one of her nails were crooked, but the guy just looked at her. She also told him that the nails felt loose, again just looked at her. 3 days later 4 nails broke. She phoned to speak to someone about it, they were rude and hung up on her. I phoned, and was told they will redo for free. However, the next nail job was worse than the first. Bad paint job, she was rushed out because it was near closing time, and Nails started breaking the next day. read more

I've worked specifically with the beauty industry for years and my experience was so impressive, I had to say something on here for others. I had to get a fill-in done and my nail tech made my nails look better than my old place ever made them look. A nail tech overheard what color I wanted and recommended something to add because what I picked was rather sheer. I just went here today from a great deal on Groupon (only $19 for a no-chip!). I will most definitely go back! My nail tech did a great job and was super fast. Most places take 45 minutes to an hour and do an ok job. Today, my nail tech (I wish I would've asked his name...) was done in 30 minutes and did a perfect job! I would recommend this place, for sure! The only thing that would make this place even better would be a little TLC inside. But that's just minor details. read more

I have been going to Empress Nails II on and off for about 20 years. I have seen people come and go. I recently went back 5 weeks ago to find what I thought was a very customer friendly crew. They have been extremely busy every time I have been there. The place has been buzzing. That is good and bad. I initially found the quality of the work excellent. There is one fault. Not only do they take appointments, but they take walk ins and squeeze them in where they can even if the person who had an appointment has to wait. I have been there up to 4 hours, with an appointment, for a pedicure and acrylics. I spent at least an hour of my time sitting around waiting that day. They were very apologetic but still, I was inconvenienced. I continued to make appointments in spite of that. 2 weeks ago, I went in and had to have my acrylics redone. The person that took care of me chose not to do tips, the acrylic only. In less than 2 weeks my nails were a mess. After reviewing it in my mind that person was doing what was needed to do, to get me out the door. They were taking on more than they could handle. People were walking in constantly and the shop manager was accepting them. They were so busy pleasantries were minimal. When I went in this week and requested that the job be re-done, I was treated poorly by one woman in particular. I was seated with her, but she had not taken care of my nails the 2 weeks before and she wanted nothing to do with me. All I asked for was what I had paid for. I was willing to pay the cost of a refill which is what I would have normally gotten done but not the full amount. I was kept waiting and when I asked the woman if she could tell me what was going on, she said "no" in a matter of fact way, gave me a dirty look and went and sat on one of the pedicure chairs with her feet up, playing with her phone. It made me very uncomfortable. The young man that originally took care of me did redo the job. He did a beautiful job, so I paid for a full set. I came to the realization that the driving force of the customer centric environment that was there 5 weeks prior, was no longer there. I will go back one more time to see how it goes because I always give second and third chances and because it is convenient. To the woman who treated me poorly I would say, if you are not happy with your job, go work somewhere else. read more

I wish i could give this place ten stars! I have tried countless nail salons, but i am very picky, and this is the ONLY one that is up to par. They are quick, professional, and do beautiful work across the board. I still come here even though we moved to Lombard and it's now a 30 min drive. Anna is my fave but they all do excellent work. I had my whole bridal party get their nails done here for my wedding in 2015, it was perfect, and it seems like they're only getting better! It blows my mind that they remain so competitively priced. Brought my girlfriend in a couple weeks back for Dipping and Pedicure. We both very please and satisfy with the service and quality it came out at the end. They also have some good pedicure options, we went with the Milk & Honey Pedicure which come with Parrafin Wax treatment at the end. Absolutely incompetent. I was in and out in a half hour for a pedicure. Polish all over my skin, nails filed completely uneven, half the nail painted. 3 strikes you're out. Now, I like my pedis just as much as the next guy but... I LOVE my pedis in massage chairs with attached iPads WAY more. The staff has always been ultra courteous and friendly and they have some really neat nail art option but the almost disheveled look of the place is what's really eating up the stars on this one is the clutter and disarray. There's just a lot of stuff going on and overall, I'd say the place is in need of some SERIOUS feng shui... or at least de junking. So much so that not even the fact that they got the early release of the new Muppet O.P.I. colors (in September!) when everyone else didn't get them until November. Don't ask me how. I bought the groupon for this place, but I would not go back. The groupon was for two no chip manicures. The first time I went the lady had no idea what she was doing and it took way longer than it should. Second time I went a man did it. He was very friendly but he cut my cuticles. They were sore for at least a week. I didn't have to wait at all, and they were friendly, but I don't want bloody infected cuticles. Place was nice and seemed clean though. read more

1st impression was great. The gal was friendly on the phone to schedule my appt. The appointment took TWO HOURS. The guy painfully removed my cuticles. I showed him the polish was leaving ripples and not drying smooth. He redid 3 of them then said I was done. I requested the last 2 be fixed. That is when he admitted the polish was bad. At this point, I had been sitting there, 7 months pregnant, for 1.5 hours. They had to remove the polish and start all over. I now missed my other appointment. Billy redid the mani, much faster than the 1st guy. I am disappointed that I was asked to pay even a discounted price. I spent 2 hours of my day there, to miss another appointment and have bleeding cuticles (photo to be uploaded). read more

Just meh. the shape of my nails is supposed to be short and round but its more short and pointy and just blah. they don't look like nails. and they're supposed to be ombre, but they're not. the techs seemed to think they looked really good, so maybe this is good for them, but I've had them done much better at a place out of state, so I know better. I visited this nail salon for the first time and here is why it's not worth your while: No one speaks English The foot soak was cold, I requested warmer water, and request went unnoticed. While doing my Mani, the lady kept digging the tools into my nailbed. No massage for the hands or gentleness when taking care of the cuticles. Someone else finished the polish and rushed through it, to get the next customer. I could have done a better job at home myself. I'm not going back. There are plenty of better nails salons and with far superior customer service to go get my nails done. PS- To the business owner who responded, the truth hurts...doesn't it. This salon is located in lisle, next to the subway on 53 and maple. Not worth the terrible service. What appointment book? My girlfriend has been coming here for years, always with rave reviews, so when I decided I wanted acrylic gels, this was the place to go! I was greeted quickly and set up with a tech right away. She was very nice and thorough, and did everything perfectly all the way up to the end. The polish bottle I chose was empty, so I was about to choose a different color when she insisted she would just thin it out and make it work. She used an unlabeled bottle of liquid and thinned it, then finished the service. I know that people use acetone as a nail polish thinner instead of thinning fluid because it is cheaper... but it also mucks up the drying time if it's used in excess. Two hours later (not exaggerating!), my nails were still not dry. I took the polish off and redid it at home myself. The service was good, I just wanted to go somewhere and have it done right. read more

Easily the WORST salon I've ever been to in my entire life. I had just moved and found this place conveniently across the street and they also had later hours than a lot of salons which was a plus with my work schedule. I walked in and everyone seemed rude and annoyed. They were very nice to customers they seemed to know and very rude to anyone else. The man not only made me bleed, but he did an absolutely awful job on my nails and spent a lot of time laughing at me throughout the appointment. He made me feel super uncomfortable and unwanted as a customer. I will never be back and I would advise everyone to stay away from this place. They don't care about any customers unless you're a regular and they definitely don't care about the quality of their work. read more

I understand they do a good job specially Taylor and Kim when I had them for pedicure. They really clean and go deep down your ingrown nails, the reason why I came back after my first month visit. Recently I called in an appointment with Taylor so I dont have to wait like the second visit, but what happened was disgusting to me. Though they remedied and Taylor did my pedicure, I still felt terrible about the whole thing. I came in and said I have a Noon appointment with Taylor, and they said, I did not call and my name is not on their appointment book. That is terrible to hear since I called for an appointment and I never experienced that before with any other nail salon. I am not sure if I ever wanted to go back to them, my attitude is... once I get disappointed and made me felt crap, I will never go back to that place ever again. I initially was introduced through a groupon deal but the place is so elegant and relaxing inside. The staff are very friendly and professional. I have gone to many places to do my no chip manicures and a lot of the places do not have many options for color. This place has many many options which initially I was overwhelmed but it's awesome. I know exactly where I will be coming going forward. I've had a great experience each time, only thing I recommend is to make an appointment apparently that is an option here and strongly preferred. read more

I have been going here for 3 years and have never had a bad experience. I've always been greeted, and they have gotten to know me by name, and what I like. They make jokes with me, and make good chat. But work-wise, I have never had an issue with my no chip or pedicures. They take time to do their job and ensure I like the shape of the nail or shade of the polish along the way. I would never go anywhere else. I got my nails done here for the first time today and I must say that they did a wonderful job. The space is clean and the staff is very friendly. The COVID procedures they have in place are great and as a customer I felt safe inside their space. The only thing that's keeping me from rating this a five star experience is the price. I got a full acrylic set and the price board showed that the charge would be $25 plus an additional $3 for COVID, which is completely reasonable and acceptable. However when they rang me up they charged me $38. I asked why there is a price discrepancy and they explained to me that there were additional charges for the length and coffin shape that I chose. Maybe this is normal procedure, but this is the first time it's happened to me. Every other nail salon I've been to the base price of the full set included the shape and length. If anything, the additional charges for length and shape should be listed on their price sheet. I felt a little blindsided when I left. I will stick to my usual spot across the street from now on, but needless to say they did do a great job on my nails. read more
