I came here on Monday the 20th, there was literally me and one other person in the shop. The guy asked me what I needed and I said I wanted to get a new set, he disagreed with me and said I did not need a new set that we can just do a fill-in. I knew he was wrong, because I was due to start my nails over. I've been getting my nails done for 10 years. I think he was just lazy and did not want to do it. Anyways, the entire time he was doing my nails he was on the phone talking to somebody on FaceTime. I'm sorry, but that's not really important or good Customer service especially when you have a client. I'm not saying you need to sit there and talk to me the whole time, but being on the phone literally the ENTIRE time I was there is very rude. He was very distracted. I could see the lady laying down he was speaking to. He was sloppy! I constantly had to point out mistakes on my nails. Mind you I paid for blue chrome and that was like $55. He had bumps in some of my nails, polish on the cuticles polish on the side of my fingers. I kept asking him to please clean them and he said I needed to go clean them in the sink. He was just very lazy and did such a bad job. Literally within a few days, my nails started to chip. Which should not happen because it was non-chip polish. Then by the weekend the thumb started to slowly crack. I just knew that he did a crappy job. Very unhappy and a waste of $55 and my time. read more

So I've now had both a gel polish and a full pink and white set done at K&K Nails and I won't be going anywhere else. The only way they could improve is if they added complimentary drinks, but even without, they're still a five star nail salon. I have yet to schedule an appointment here, but both times I've went I was taken care of immediately even as a walk-in. It is a smaller salon so if I was going to go on a weekend, I would definitely make an appointment. This last time I went in for the pink and white set and ended up being worked on by one of the owners. She is super friendly and on top of everything. I loved that before she even started on my nails she asked all the questions up front... extensions or overlay? light or dark pink? cut? tip length? We were on the same page from the jump. An overlay set is the same price as one with extensions at $45 which is on the higher end for an affordable place, but she did a phenomenal job and ensures all of my cuticles and hang nails were cleaned up. She allowed me to check the progress along the way without being opposed to any criticism (although there wasn't any). I will absolutely be back for my fill and any future nail needs. read more

It's been a little over a year from the first time that I came to K&K Nails so it's probably due for an update. Note: I came in the day after Christmas... you can imagine how many people were wanting to get out of the house like myself. I still have a great liking for this nail salon... It's clean, friendly, lots of stations and they have very affordable prices. The reason I have to knock it down is because I called and made an appointment for 3 pedicures and when we got there, we had to wait 30 minutes (this is after they said they could get us in). We ended up walking next door for Dunkin Donuts coffee/teas and then coming back. My pedicure (I got the one step up from the normal one) was very good. I also really enjoyed my manicure. I left with a fantastic mani/pedi to go on vacation with. They have a good selection of colors and a great menu of services - I believe they use "organic" products --- If you're into that sort of thing. Overall - I still like this place and believe it's easier to get in if you're just a single person, not a group... but I think every place has their bad days. Oh - Total for a step up from the normal pedicure and a gel manicure - $60. Good pricing! read more

I arrived at 11 am opening time this morning and June quickly greeted me and took me to her chair. I was there for dip powder removal, new dip powder and waxing. June was very friendly and made my nails look AMAZING!!! I love them! The eyebrow and lip wax was painful free as possible! :) If you decide to go here ask for June. She is off on Wednesdays. I got my nails done a couple weeks ago, and they looked awful. I had a full set, and they ended up being bubbled out and not filed correctly in multiple spots, there was a lack of top coat on the tips of a couple of them, and the woman doing my nails made me bleed twice by filing my nails so vigorously (both my pinkie fingers). I came back and asked for them to be fixed, and then the manager hovered over me and the nail tech and grabbed one of my hands to asses the nails, all without saying a word to me. They ended up fixing what was wrong, but only after I pointed out each and every flaw- I should have asked for my money back. Wish I could give a 0 star review, went in for a pedicure and manicure, as soon as I walked in one of the nail stylist were just sitting in pedicure chair with his toes out DISGUSTING AND also very rude! pedicure was nice but definitely rushed, they do not use new tools when working on nails only "pre sanitized". When it was time for my manicure she cut my nails uneven, and also cut my cuticle. I want to start out by saying that I had Joy as my nail tech today, and she was absolutely lovely. She gave me an incredible experience in a truly disgusting salon. Upon walking in, what seemed to be the manager/owner was sitting in a pedicure chair watching television, didn't get up to greet us, and had no shoes on. The other people working in the salon were just downright rude and inconsiderate. My friends nails were dry; her tech and another woman screamed at her for putting lotion on, chipped her real nail, ignored it, and kept making rude remarks to eachother that we clearly heard. Not to mention, the woman who yelled at her wasn't wearing a mask and glared at us anytime we spoke. I never usually write reviews but my god this was the weirdest place i've ever been. I went here to get my nails done with a friend. As a prior licensed nail technician do NOT go here. The sanitation was horrendous. They used already used nail files and buffer blocks. I never saw them sanitize the piece that was inside the foot bowl. I never saw them sanitize anything actually including the "cheese grater" as they called it or the pumice stone. For my manicure the lady pulled out an extremely crusty pair of cuticle nippers. Im just thankful I did not get cut and get a nasty infection. I will never be going here again and should have left during my appt. read more

Appointment was for 11:40 for a mani/pedi. When I arrived they had no idea about my appointment and I still had to wait 10 minutes to get started on my pedi. The woman who started my pedicure didn't want to do the color I chose on my toes in a French tip because she said it was too dull (who's feet are these?). She said, "don't ask me to take it off when you don't like it"!! Then she asked if my nails were cut short enough which I answered I would like a little shorter, and she said she'd file them shorter later, haha. She said "ohh yea I can see you did your own pedicure hahahaha" on top of several comments that were quite rude and unnessasary. So far she's making me feel really uncomfortable and kind of pissed off. This place is was highly recommended to me so I'm hoping it goes better. My review is starting to get pretty lengthy, so I'll just mention what bugged me most about my mani: She sat down in the chair, got out her phone, and made a phone call with me sitting there waiting for her!!!!! Then, "I'd like my nails square" "they'd look better round" (at this point, my tolerance for her was low) "well I want them square" "you always want what you don't have. Round would look nicer on your hand". I ended up with a rounded off edge. Effing aye It sucks, because the quality of her work was good. I just couldn't stand her comments!! And being a person who can handle snarkiness, that's really saying a lot. It will take a lot for me to come back here despite the attractive $35 price tag. Big bummer. read more

The owner herself is so attentive and makes sure you feel great. Maybe last time I got someone who didn't care, just stayed quiet about it. Use to be my favorite spot but after COVID-19 when businesses began reopening K&K nails started charging their customers a $5.00 up charge and stated it was due to COVID-19. Well my thoughts are, YOU ARE PRICE GOUGING!!! You are not the only ones affected by COVID, actually a lot of people were in case you forgot. So your extra $5.00 in my opinion is very selfish to people who also suffered a loss or reduction in pay!!!! So ladies if you are sick of paying them the extra $5.00 I would recommend to you QUEEN NAILS on Sharp dr and Black rd....there are probably other shops that are not charging extra but I think these guys are the best! read more

They really care for their customers, take their time, have a great selection of colors and services, and do a great job. They always have enough staff so the wait is little to nothing. I have a great appreciation for the design and ambience of this facility but disappointed that I walk in for a pedicure at 9:35 am and told that there are people before me with a 10 am appointment and said people had not arrived. After reading the reviews I decided to give K & K Nails a chance. I am so glad I did! I walked in on a Friday afternoon with no appointment and was seated right away. The nail tech was very attentive to details and I haven't ever been happier with my nails! They are the perfect shape, length and thickness (acrylic). People were saying to her I hope you're not tipping. And one lady actually told the tech you should pay more attention to your customers. Maybe if you're and adult it's better. I went in to get a manicure and pedicure. The pedicure was ok, not the best. When it was time for the manicure, he rushed and basically just slapped on nail polish, when told about him missing half of all my nails he put clear coat on. Then when drying I noticed air bubbles in the nails. When questioned about it his response was "I don't see it" then I shined a light on it " and he goes I don't see it" continued to show him the bubbles with the light, he then goes "oh I see it" and tried to tell me it was only that finger it was all of them. the nails polish was off by the time I got to the car because they were just peeling. This is my go - to salon. Good service. Clean and quiet.. until today. An inconsiderate client talked loudly on her cell phone for almost an hour while getting her nails done. Her phone was tightly tucked into her shoulder as she proceeded to talk in a very loud voice. The entire salon could hear all about her husband's diabetic blood results, upcoming weddings and all sorts of stuff that I did not want to hear. I have been coming here for a little over a year and I would never go anywhere else! Ben (owner) usually does my nails, but his wife and another employee have also done them as well, and all of them are equally talented. They have fair prices, a very clean shop and they make you feel welcome. Anytime I get a compliment about my nails I immediately tell them where I go to get them done. I used to go here constantly when Ben and Mina were the owners- they did a phenomenal job. Now it's under new management and every time I go I'm disappointed. Last time a guy named James did my no-chip manicure and he didn't start the polish near my cuticles, it grew out in less than two weeks! My most recent visit I had the owner do my no-chip manicure and even though she took her time, I had 2 nails chip after 5 days! I also had a pedicure that day too and my big toe chipped. If I spend $50 on services I expect them to last longer than a week. I don't know if it's a crappy product quality or their technique but I'm done wasting money here. They also don't seem to care very much about the places appearance either.... the pedicure chairs are getting ripped and torn, the massage buttons are all broke, none of the tv's work (or they don't pay for them to be hooked up) and the past two times I went the radio wasn't even on. Went in to get a pedicure, when I was done I went to put my boot on and noticed there was one dark dot on the top of my boot , I figured it might be water from the pedicure bowl as it was sitting right next to it, I left to my car and wiped it down with some water & my sock and headed back home, but when I got to 127th in Plainfield ( 15 min down the road ) looked at my boot and the water I had used around it was already dry but the stain was still there. I called the salon back and he told me to bring the boot back. I brought the boot back and he insisted it was water & even cleaned it with water himself and we waited 45 min for it to "dry" the stain was still there, he agreed to pay for my boots as long as I left them there (these were the shoes I came in) I just bought my uggs the other day and this was my 2nd time wearing them, I said no way im not leaving you my shoes, he said well if you want me to pay for them then you have to leave them, I went back to my car upset and decided okay I'm going to leave this man my boots as long as he pays so I get a new pair, I came back in with my boots in my hand and told him okay here , just pay me what I paid for them, he said he decided not to do that and he rather call the cops instead, so he called the cops and the cops came and said they unfortunately can't do anything but that they suggest I come on Yelp and post of a review of what I went through, the cop agreed that the salon manager was in the wrong for agreeing to pay for my boots in return for staining them as long as I left the boots there for the salon manager to do as he please with them & then took it back & said he wouldn't do that anymore. The cop said it was a shitty situation and he wishes he could get him to pay for them like he had said he would but that he cant. So here I am , the manager was very rude about the entire situation and now my brand new boots have this permanent stain on them. I ordered myself a new pair as I waited in the car. But I definitely won't come back to this salon, and I will also make a claim with the better business bureau. read more

Went here because it's super close to my house and I was very impressed. They got me right in on a Sunday at noon which i would think would be a busier time. I had a pedicure and the guy that I had really massaged my leg and feet and used a really awesome smelling lavender scrub too. For only $30 with the scrub I will definitely be back!! read more
