THESE ARE THE BEST NAILS IVE GOTTEN IN MY LIFE!!! Kevin did these and it really did make my day much much better. He was so gentle with my hands. He paid extra attention to all the details. He's a really awesome guy and I can't believe how incredible of work he does. And their salon so far has been my favorite by far that I've ever had in my life. I highly recommend coming here. They're amazing!!

Took my daughter to get our nails filled. Regular Acrylic fills are shown to be $32 plus a $5-$7 for French design. I had mine painted with three different colors which they charged me $1 for each color, so that's another $3 & daughter had a very basic French manicure. Let's do the math together: 32 + 32 + 7 + 3 = 74...yet I was charged $94!!!! The prices are stated not only online but also in the shop. I tried multiple times to tell them I was overcharged and they wouldn't hear it. Stay away from this place!!

    Uneven and ragged looking

I used to love this place. It was my go to salon. Not anymore. I went in for a pedicure ( had to have it redone somewhere else as soon as the tech finished, because I don't trust them to do it right anymore). This is not the first time I walked out disappointed, but it's the last. The color is uneven and looks ragged). The manager offered to take 10% off ... not enough).

    The interior

What a cute, clean and professional nail salon. Affordable and professional service . Plenty of parking handicap accessible entry door. . 14 pedicure stations., 12 nail stations. They due really great work. I know I have 4 daughter and a wife that will attest to it. I highly recommend them come check them out you won't be disappointed..

A poorly done ombré nail fabricated with strangely applied dip powder.

WORST NAIL SERVICE OF MY LIFE I patronize another local establishment today as my normal salon was closed and it was as close to an emergency as you can get we nails. It took almost 45 minutes to be seated with a tech, and then he couldn't figure out how to do the green to orange ombré I requested. I was told the only way to achieve it was with dip powder... an up charge we never requested. My normal salon has no issue with this simple request. then the tech proceeded to do something I have not seen before... He used the activating liquid and turned the dip powder into acrylic and applied it as if he was applying a nail fill in. We are not familiar with dip, but I have never even seen it applied in such a fashion. And I don't think it is a suitable alternative for a fill with a typical gel powder. we tried to let the techno over and over that he should stop because it wasn't working, he just kept going. We had to tell him 4+ times to stop using the grinder on my cuticles. I cannot believe what a terrible experience this was. And to add insult on injury, I am fairly certain I was overcharged because the price was absolutely insane. Far and away more than I typically pay for 1/2 the finished product. Save yourself, go elsewhere.

Super Clean. Nice designs for nails. You should try. The nail technicians are friendly and great skills.

Unfortunately, it ended up being one of the most disappointing spa experiences I've had. I booked a 60-minute deep tissue massage with the scalp oil and Hypervolt add-ons. Neither add-on was performed... my scalp was never touched and no massage gun was used though I was initially charged for both (they were only refunded after I reached out). The massage itself felt rushed and incomplete. Most areas of my body were barely worked on, and I left still in pain. When I got up, I noticed the digital wall clock in the room had been partially covered with a towel.. specifically, only the minutes portion was covered. I later realized the session had ended about 5-10 minutes early. Management later claimed that covering the clock is standard practice for guest comfort, but that explanation does not make sense. The clock was not bright at all, and there was a much brighter light left on in the corner of the room the entire time. If a digital clock is supposedly too bright and distracting, then it would make more sense to use a standard wall clock or not have a visible clock at all. Partially covering only the minutes, the part that tells you exactly how much time is left... felt like a very shady business practice rather than a comfort measure. I was also told afterward that my massage was shortened because I arrived late. However, when I checked in, the front desk assured me they were able to push my appointment back and accommodate me so that I would still receive my full 60 minutes. At no point before or during the massage was I informed that my session would be cut short. Letting a guest believe they are getting their full service and then ending early without any communication feels unprofessional. When I contacted them about all of this, the only thing offered was a complimentary add-on for a future visit. but only if I book and pay for another full-price massage. After already spending over $220 and being this unhappy, I don't find it reasonable to be asked to come back and spend another $200 just to receive a small add-on for free. A partial or full refund for the actual massage would have been far more appropriate. I have since been ignored. Overall, this experience did not match the premium price at all. I left sore, stressed, and disappointed. I would not recommend Spavia Elmhurst based on this visit.

I have been going to the Oak Brook Terrace Waxing the City location since it opened. Over the past…read moreyear or so, I've noticed a general decline in the overall experience, but I continued going because the location is convenient when I'm already in the area running errands. After what happened today, however, I will not be returning. I came in today, September 30, around 10:20 a.m. in the pouring rain for a simple lip wax. I apologized for being 7 minutes late. The front desk employee immediately told me, "I'll take you this time, but next time I won't." I said I understood, but mentioned that I thought there was a 10-minute grace period. She corrected me and said it was actually 7 minutes. I pointed out that I was, apparently, still within that window. Her response was visibly irritated. Then she asked me to complete a customer profile form. I explained that I had been there within the past few months and asked whether I really needed to complete the entire form again. Her response was essentially, yes, this is what you have to do, which I found odd, but I started filling it out. I then said I needed to use the restroom quickly and would finish the form when I came back. This is where the interaction became completely bizarre. She told me, "We don't need to wax you today." I honestly didn't understand what she meant and asked her to clarify. She then indicated that I didn't need to fill out the form and didn't need to get waxed there today, in a tone that felt like she was refusing to provide the service. She also mumbled something under her breath that I found derogatory. At that point, I said, "What is your problem?" I explained that I had a pedicure appointment immediately afterward anyway and would simply have the service done elsewhere. I then asked for her name because I intended to contact corporate about the interaction. Instead of simply giving me her name or allowing me to leave, she told me I needed to leave and picked up the phone and said "I'm just going to call the police." Yes -- over a customer asking for the employee's name after an uncomfortable interaction about a lip wax. I remained at the front desk and told her that I thought the response was completely extreme and that I would be contacting corporate from my car. I left, contacted corporate, and also contacted the local non-emergency police line to document what had happened. I was told they would conduct a wellness check at the business. I am still genuinely confused about how a routine waxing appointment escalated into this. I have been a customer of this location for years, and I have watched the experience decline, but today's interaction was on an entirely different level. There was no reason for the interaction to become hostile, and certainly no reason for a routine customer-service issue to escalate to the point of possible police involvement. I would strongly recommend going to the Elmhurst Waxing the City location instead. At this point, the convenience of Oak Brook Terrace is not worth the headache. Management/corporate: I sincerely hope this interaction is reviewed, including what happened at the front desk and why a customer who was simply trying to clarify the situation was treated this way. What should have been a five-minute lip wax turned into me leaving in the rain, without the service, after having to make two separate calls to report what happened. Absolutely bizarre.
