Great pricing and install quality....if you can deal with the delays…read more Our flooring adventure began with a bang. More precisely, a whimper. Our two dogs had absolutely destroyed our ten year old carpet, and we were long overdue for a replacement. More carpet, for maximum dog wallowing/belly rubs? Or deny them these simple pleasures and go for hardwood? As our budget would have it, neither; we ended up opting for vinyl plank. Andrea was very helpful during the selection process, sent us home with a few samples and within 20 minutes we had a winner. A few days later she came by to take measurements, collect our deposit and give us an arrival date. The date came and went. "Well, no worries" I thought, Fashion Floors was in the midst of moving their showroom, this was far from a carpet emergency (is there such a thing?) and they hadn't cashed our deposit check anyway. After a few rounds of phone tag, we settled on an install date! Typically this would be the type of project I would tackle myself (and take months to actually complete), but in this case the install included hauling off the old carpet, leveling the subfloor, as well as removal/re installation of the furniture. I figured it was money well spent. We were told our installers would be here between 9-10am. You already know where this is going. They showed up a little after noon, but to their credit, they started busting ass and had the job nearly complete in five hours. Now, it's the "nearly" part that's key here. Apparently they had either forgotten or not been given all of their supplies, so they left for an hour, came back and worked until nearly 8pm. Kudos for the tenacity and the fact that they completed it in one day, but it would've been nicer not to have to rearrange the entire day. We finally made it to their new showroom to go drop off our final payment, only to find the place dark, doors locked at 10am on a Friday. We hopped next door to TacoDeli for a leisurely brunch, came back at 11 to find the place still closed. Bizarre. This necessitated another trip the next week to get these folks paid. Pretending to be outraged on the internet seems to be the newest fad, but you'll get none of that from me. There were some minor inconveniences here and there, but at the end of the day we are very happy with the material and installation, and the new flooring really did transform our bedroom. Give Fashion Floors a holler.

I hired this company for an entire-house insulation job based on their comprehensive estimate…read more Unfortunately, their lack of transparency and willingness to leave a job incomplete without telling me was a major breach of trust. The back room of my house is sectioned off from the main structure. The contractors completed the main house, packed up their truck, and were actively ready to leave. They did not say a word to me about any issues. I had to stop them and explicitly ask, "How did you get into the top of the back room to put insulation in?" Only AFTER I asked this direct question did the contractor finally admit, "We were not able to access the room." Had I not stopped them to ask, they would have driven away and left me under the false impression that my entire home had been insulated as promised. To make matters worse, when I confronted them about trying to leave without telling me, Justin shifted the blame onto me, saying something along the lines of, "Well, you knew about it and should have told us." He then claimed, "There is no possible way for us to get back there." I find it highly unlikely that it was truly "impossible" to access; it felt much more like they simply did not want to do the extra work or take the time to adjust the original estimate. Further, Justin defensively informed me something along the lines of, "I am not arguing to get paid." I had not said a single word about withholding payment; his immediate defensiveness showed exactly where his priorities were. As the professionals hired to do a job, it is their responsibility to inspect the site and communicate issues not blame the homeowner or get defensive about money. A professional contractor should proactively communicate and adjust the final invoice, rather than hiding incomplete work and hoping the homeowner doesn't notice. I cannot recommend a business that operates with this lack of integrity. Ultimately, the company did deduct $288.00 from the final invoice to account for the uninsulated room, and as far as I can tell, the main portion of the house was insulated correctly. For those reasons, I am leaving two stars instead of one.

I went to get an estimate and book online, but after completing all the information and answering all of the questions, it errored out forcing me to email for a quote and to schedule. There were days of back and forth emails with complicated explanations about various shifts and workers arriving at different times. Nothing was easy about this process. I finally scheduled and was hoping the clean would redeem the booking process. The staff member arrived on time and was super friendly. It was clear she was working hard and wanted to do a good job. She did ask me for several supplies, which surprised me, as I hadn't experienced that before and wouldn't have anticipated. I had work meetings during the latter part of her cleaning. When I was done, I discovered that she had needed even more supplies, so had to call a family member to bring them and then had that person help finish up. This meant she let someone into my home when I was unaware and potentially not employed by the company. Very alarming. Afterwards, I inspected the work and found some of it was well done and other parts were not. She told me she couldn't do the shower because she didn't have the appropriate supplies. The floors were not done well at all and we had to go back and clean them ourselves. The owner followed up to ask how things went and if we'd like to schedule regular cleanings. I relayed our experience, asking if I should expect to provide supplies and if the shower would be handled at the next visit. I never heard from them again.

I've never got bait-and-switched and had a company leave a cleaning job in the middle of the work before but there is always a first time. We hired them to clean our house twice, requesting for 1 cleaner for 2 hours. On the third time, I requested EXACTLY the same arrangement, yet she suddenly sent a team of 2 for double the price. I was not at home and only saw one cleaner come in. I did NOT know that there was a change of arrangement and at double the price. She should have at least informed me. I felt very bait-and-switched. It may have been an honest mistake but what happened next is completely unacceptable. While discussing this with Beverly, her cleaning crew decides to leave the house IN THE MIDDLE of the job. The bathroom was unfinished with bath mats everywhere. The room was not done. And THEY JUST LEFT. Without a word. Without asking if the work is complete. I was genuinely stunned. What kind of company does this? It shows an unacceptable lack of professionalism and commitment to their customers. They don't really care about their customers at all. They caused us so much stress and trauma. And what I saw was a genuine lack of empathy for customers. Completely unacceptable and will highly NOT recommend them. Beverly's tone got meaner and meaner, making threats while asking for an explanation to ask them to leave again. Unbelievable. It's one thing to make a mistake, it's another to make it right and be kind to your customers. Find a more trustworthy cleaning service guys. Someone who treats customers with kindness and respect, which Beverly lacks completely.
