It's a rare pleasure these days to meet someone who is expert at fixing something and clearly enjoys it. So it was a treat to watch Nancy restore my metal eyeglass frame that was expensive when I bought it 40 years ago and priceless today, at least until I stepped on and mangled it. And when she put the glasses back on my face, they fit perfectly - no adjustments needed. I'll be back next time I've got a new prescription or (hopefully not) another repair. read more

I had spent some time going to various optical locations to find where I found the best choices of frames and landed on this location. Both Craig and Nancy who run the show here are both very nice and capable. They didn't pressure me in purchasing from them but let the products sell themselves. Nancy did the final measurements and double checked my previous lenses and what the prescription said. She also addressed the nuanced changes in my progressive lenses too. On the day I bought my frames they had a 20% off sale, which was very helpful in light the price on the frames aren't by any means cheap. One thing they don't take insurance. If your looking for new frames suggest either stopping in or sending an email. I found calling doesn't seem too successful in getting a hold of someone. read more

I pass Luxton on my daily walk and am always impressed by their *incredible* selection of glasses. My favorite sunnies broke and I saw this as the perfect opportunity to pop in. Gary and Nancy were super warm and friendly, and they fixed my glasses in ten minutes - at no charge! So kind and unexpected; I mean, I'm sure their rent is insane and every penny counts, so I was pretty touched by their goodwill. Things are hard right now. Energy is low and quite anxious here in the good old US of A. As an individual who rarely posts reviews, I am taking this time to call out Luxton Optical, particularly Nancy and Craig. I initially came into their store to have a pair of glasses, not purchased from them, adjusted due a problem with the sidearm. Craig was as nice as could be, fixed my glasses on the spot, and when I went to pay, he said , "No problem - I'm glad I could help." Little did Craig know what he was getting into as I seem to regularly bend, squish, etc my glasses. On one of these pop-in trips, I found this amazing frame that had just arrived and it was at that point, I thought, time for new glasses. And that is when I met Nancy, Nancy took the time with me going over the different types of lenses, benefits of each, having me test coatings and colorings (I wear progressives with prisms and transition lenses) both inside the store and outside the store in the shade and bright sun so that I could really determine what would best fit my needs. Needless to say, this pair of glasses has been the best I ever have had and receive many compliments as well on how they look. Nancy has a great eye and is able to aid the customer on what and why a particular fit might work from them. That was 18 months ago and 2 pairs of glasses later including prescription sunglasses, I again found myself in the store needing an adjustment on the glasses (I told you I was hard in my glasses), I again walked into the shop and again found a frame that I loved and bought a new pair of glasses. I had not intended to given my fondness of the original pair I bought (and I wear them full time), but went ahead. I picked them up this week and after about a day of wearing them, something was not quite right so I went back for an adjustment. Nancy spent an hour measuring the differences between the 2 sets of glasses, on and off of my face and decided that she was not happy with how the lenses were made and has sent them back to be redone. In this day and age when people are rushed, are not professional, just want to sell you something, Nancy and Craig and Luxton Opticals is as far away from that sentiment as they could be. I have recommended them to friends who have as far away as Pacifica have come to the store given their selection of frames, the knowledge that Nancy has and the kindness and professionalism of both Craig and Nancy. Came o see if my Persol's could be saved, I love them. Optician, took them and stated they may break but he would do his best. Given I couldn't use them as is the sacrifice was worth the risk. 10 minutes later he appeared with my rejuvenated Persols, legs now straight. $7.00 yes $7.00 well spent. Nancy at Luxton Optical solved a 2 year lens debacle. I had progressive glasses made 2 years ago and I could not see out of them. For 2 years I went back and forth with the same optician attempting to correct them, including having 2 updated eye exams. I finally gave up and went to see Nancy at Luxton who had helped me in the past. I told her if she could solve the mystery of getting my lenses correct I would be amazed. She did it! Getting glasses at Luxton Optical is a luxury experience. The store is beautiful, with all kinds of classy knick knacks decorating the shelves of eyeglass frames -- seashells, orchids, etc. They have an outstanding selection of frames and Nancy Leung has a great eye for fashion. She helped me find frames that compliment my face which is no easy task as I have a long, narrow face and an unusually large nose. It is usually quite a struggle for me to find frames that fit my face but I really enjoyed the experience this time. Nancy spent a lot of time with me and I never felt rushed. I can see better with these glasses than with my previous pair even though the prescription is exactly the same, which testifies to the quality of the lenses. I dropped my fancy sunglasses on the ground and nicked the frame and a lens. Nordstrom gave me the info for the manufacturer, who apparently will do repairs, but I Googled the outfit and found a zillion terrible reviews. So, I asked Nordstrom if they knew anyone local who could fix sunglasses, and they sent me to Luxton Optical. I was very happy with the service at Luxton. It was quick and easy to drop off the glasses and they were ready within a couple of days. They replaced both lenses and fixed up the frame for a reasonable cost. Unless you appreciate being rushed along while every technical request you ask for is either seen as an obstacle, and treated with either flimsy reasoning, or a deaf ear; here's your retailer You will however, get consistent false flattery thrown in, but just to get things moving along rapidly. Lastly as you leave, if you wish to have a work order describing what it is you just ordered, i.e., the kind of frames you just ordered or a break down of the details of the lens, forget it. You will walk out with a small receipt for the charge on Visa you just made, which you later find out..was just the down payment. Needless to say, I cancelled the order!. i am so happy i found this place. it offers a far more comprehensive selection than any of the other big chains and offers friendly personable service that doesn't end once you walk out the front door. i bought a few pairs of glasses here and while they aren't cheap they revived a very expensive pair of frames for me that i thought were beyond repair and i didn't even buy that pair there. these guys are geniuses when it comes to that stuff. thank you guys. read more
