I had a great experience here as a new patient of Dr Gina Day and her team member Adriana. I called on Tuesday and Adriana answered right away and offered me same week appointment options. The whole team was friendly and efficient, and they had many frames options from my favorite company Prodesign Denmark. I had a lot of fun talking to both Dr Day and Adriana, and Adriana was particularly helpful in helping pick out a Prodesign frame that worked with my prescription.

I appreciate the covid safety options for those of us who are chronically ill.

Stephanie was very helpful. In 2021, the glasses I got here never did work for me. This time, because I'm non adaptive to bifocals and have Partnership as my vision plan, I was approved for two pair. It is my hope that this time the glasses will be perfect. I had to pay extra for blue block and anti glare out of pocket and will update my review when the glasses arrive. On a side note for covid conscious people, they still offer an outdoor waiting area, hand sanitizer and masks are optional, ALL staff opted out of wearing masks today, but I wore mine.

    Great place, friendly staff.

The upper blepharoplasty was performed under local anesthetic and felt effortless! I have recommended Dr. Cox and the procedure to many of my friends who are apprehensive about surgery. The lower blepharoplasty required general anesthesia, which I was dreading, but everything worked out like magic. I woke up from the anesthesia as if I were emerging from a nap. After the bruising subsided in about two weeks, I noticed a significant change--from my eyes looking tired and droopy to appearing energetic and youthful. I'm thrilled with the results and would recommend (and have recommended) Dr. Cox to anyone considering eye surgery. She is the best!

She said it would improve my vision, it did not. In addition to which, it was far more painful than I was led to believe. She neglected to close my eye lids 100% (one needs 100% eye lid closure!), she changed the shape of my eyes. I once had beautiful almond shaped eyes. I now have weird looking round eyes. I now have dry eyes, resulting in daily discomfort. The surgery worsened my vision, my contact lens prescription kept changing, going up and down, I can't drive at night, it is too much of a strain to read books. I used to be an avid reader, finding great comfort in books. The is no longer a pleasure for me. I miss reading very much. Dr. Cox did try to remedy the problems by checking in with me asking "how are your eyes", checking my vision, and telling me how to heat rice in a sock to put over my aching eyes. Eventually, she said she couldn't help me anymore so I should go to UCSF. Of course, we all know UCSF has excellent doctors who are very busy. The one she sent me to, took months to get an appointment with. Once I did, they sent me to another doctor (an eye plastic surgeon) who sent me to another doctor. I've gotten tired, I've given up. One more thing, the surgical team: A component of the surgery to contend with is that Dr. Cox needs to wake the patient up during surgery to check on her work. I recall vividly how when I was under I felt like I was choking and couldn't breath. Dr. Cox caught my distress because she was checking on her work. She alerted the anesthesiologist, who then stopped telling some silly story or another and started paying attention to me, the patient, and put me in a position so I would feel like I was choking. That was terrifying! So, I'll give Dr. Cox credit for catching my distress, although I hope by now she is using a different anesthesiologist on her surgical team. All of this begs the question, why haven't I sued Dr. Cox? I really don't know. I think it is because I've been focusing on dealing with the fall out of my surgery fiasco. I encourage folks to consider surgery with Dr. Cox through very very carefully. Take good care.

The initial eye exam felt like an assembly line where I was passed from one person to the next, then ended with a salesman-type (they called him a counselor) who was basically a closer. I felt like I was buying a car! That said, everyone was very pleasant and they worked around my schedule to get my surgery done before I left the country. The surgery itself was super fast and painless (albeit a bit unnerving psychologically, but that part only lasted a few seconds). I got the SMILE surgery, a slightly less invasive technique than Lasik. There was a tiny bit of irritation after the numbness wore off, but the next morning I was fine, and within a few days my vision was quite clear. I only got one eye done, so one eye is near sighted and the other is now far sighted, and my brain stitches the images together so I feel like I have 20/20 vision. It's incredible! I need prescription readers now, though, so I can do my up-close stuff without my new far-sighted eye feeling wonky. It was expensive but overall I'm happy with the results. Would recommend. Bonus: As the surgeon got ready to perform the minute-long operation, he put on an 80s station and Sade's song Smooth Operator came on. I asked if he puts this song on each time he operates, but he said it was a coincidence.

The entire process felt smooth, professional, and reassuring. I especially want to highlight, Marleny Garcia at the San Ramon office, who was absolutely incredible. She took the time to thoroughly explain all of my options and walk me through the entire surgical process, which immediately put me at ease. I left our conversation feeling relieved, confident, and genuinely excited about the procedure. What really stood out was how personable and honest Marleny was. She shared her own vision journey and personal experience with eye surgeries, which made a huge difference for me. Hearing her story made it easy to trust her, and it was very clear that she truly cares about the patients who walk through the door. I had originally planned to consult with other doctors' offices before making a decision, but after meeting with Marleny, I felt completely confident that I had found the right place for my laser eye surgery. She played a major role in helping me feel comfortable moving forward. Thank you so much, Marleny, and thank you to the entire Scott Hyver Visioncare team for such an excellent experience!

Dr. Bansal and his team are truly phenomenal!…read more I've been wearing glasses and contacts for over 20 years and decided I finally wanted to pursue vision correction surgery. I came in for a consultation and after a thorough eye examination, I was notified that due to my high prescription and thin corneas, I was not eligible for Lasik, SMILE or PRK but was eligible for ICL (Implantable Collamer Lenses). I had not previously heard of ICL so the optometrist explained to me that it is a newer (at least in the U.S.) procedure during which micro incisions are made on the eyes and permanent lenses are inserted. The cost is significantly more than the other types of procedures ($11,800) but I was able to pay for half and then finance the other half through CareCredit. I was able to schedule my procedure for the following month after my initial consultation. Dr. Bansal was very transparent during my pre-op appointment and notified me that due to my high prescription and a genetic deformity in my right eye, I would not be able to get to 20/20 vision but would get close. The procedure itself was a breeze and completely painless. I was given Ativan and numbing eye drops. The longest part was waiting for my eyes to completely dilate in the surgery waiting room. I actually fell asleep in there until I was woken up and notified that it was surgery time. The procedure took less than 3 minutes per eye - it was extremely quick! I did not feel any pain, but did feel a little bit of pressure. The most uncomfortable part was having to stare up at an extremely bright light while Dr. Bansal performed the surgery. As soon as it was over and I was wheeled into the recovery room, my vision was already clear! My contact lens prescription was -9.00 in my left eye and -7.00 in my right, so the fact that I could already see pretty clearly right after surgery was incredible. Recovery has been easy. I did experience some blurriness/cloudiness and fluctuations in my vision for the first couple of days, but my vision gradually became more clear. At my one-week post-op exam, my vision was 20/25 in my left eye and 20/30 in my right which is better than what I thought would be possible. I now wake up in the morning and can immediately see and it feels like a miracle. It's now been two weeks since my procedure and I feel comfortable driving. I am absolutely thrilled by my corrected vision and am very pleased with the results! If you're on the fence about getting vision correction surgery, get it done at LaserVue! The team here is amazing and made me feel very comfortable about the entire thing!

Dr. Bansal is on the forefront of laser eye procedures and I wouldn't hesitate to use him for such an important procedure. If you need a place to stay overnight, there is a nice, inexpensive retro motel nearby called the Astro hotel with good restaurants (Spinster Sisters and Bagel Noshery) close by.
