First the store is very difficult for wheelchair entry. My daughters staff had to recruit a very nice customer to help lift the chair in. Then if you don't have good insurance the choices for glasses are Extremely limited and later finding out Extremely cheap. As in poorly made. Soon after purchase, a few weeks, I went to clean the lenses and they broke. No pressure, no twisting, just cracked. Their "guarantee" costs 25.00 to replace the garbage glasses. We asked to be notified when the glasses arrived which they claimed would be 7 to 10 business days. Over 2 weeks later we called and to our surprise they were in. We asked why we weren't notified and they lied and said they texted us a week earlier. We disputed that and then they said we must have opted out of notification ????? The whole team was friendly and efficient, and they had many frames options from my favorite company Prodesign Denmark. After being a patient for over five years, we have recently experienced extremely poor customer service, lack of communication on procedures that are covered or not covered by insurance, the absence of established processes to ensure insurance claims are properly submitted, and the resulting overcharging of optometry procedures. Upon receiving our vision insurance's explanation of benefits, we became very concerned of the billing practices of this optometry business. After three telephonic and in-person attempts to address two billing issues and the explanations we received from its on-site representative that can only be described as nonsensical at best and deceptive at worst, the national billing Director for the corporation that apparently owns Larkspur Landing Optometry got involved, reviewed all of the relevant information, advised of their error and took corrective action by directing Larkspur Landing Optometry to reimburse us. How many other unwitting patients have been overcharged in the past for multi-focal contact lens exams, optical/retina scans, or other procedures by Larkspur Landing Optometry? The old Latin phrase "Caveat Emptor" applies, let the buyer beware. The one bright spot was the attending optometrist, Dr. Azmoodeh, who was competent and very professional in her examination and interactions. I went there and everything seemed fine and nice at first. Then an employee forgot to charge me $39 and emailed me asking for payment--but never sent the payment link. I replied and called multiple times with no answer. I returned the very next morning in person to pay the $39. Five days later, she finally called saying my order was still on hold for non-payment. When I explained I already paid in person, she questioned the date and asked for the last 4 digits of my card instead of checking her system. She charged over $100 to my account but couldn't track a simple $39 payment she herself failed to process. Her mistake, her lack of response, and somehow I'm the one fixing it? Stephanie was very helpful. In 2021, the glasses I got here never did work for me. This time, because I'm non adaptive to bifocals and have Partnership as my vision plan, I was approved for two pair. It is my hope that this time the glasses will be perfect. I had to pay extra for blue block and anti glare out of pocket and will update my review when the glasses arrive. What an awful experience! Wanted to use my insurance to fill out my prescription which I believed I had successfully done with them. One week later, received a call saying that my order was incorrect and I could not use my benefits as I was told (and had used for the past 12 years). Explained that she had made a mistake but the person who I spoke to was not accepting that. End result: I lost my benefits for the existing year and was without current prescription glasses. I like Larkspur Landing Optometry. I got an appointment the same day as I called, and I was conveniently slotted for a cancellation. - What luck. The staff is friendly, and the location is convenient on the main street in Corte Madera. The interior of the space is a little shabby compared to other optometry centers. When you drive up to the Optometry center you see chairs outside the entrance and a non-descript table with a bottle of hand sanitizer. LLO offers a wide variety of frames from designer to low-budget frames. The staff is professional and friendly. They are very busy there and with place looks a little shabby, you have to take precautions to be COVID-safe. read more

I showed up early for an appointment, went through pre-work and then after waiting a total of 30 minutes after my appointment was supposed to begin, I was asked if I would like to wait an additional 30 minutes or re-schedule by a man named Josh. I waited, but why was there not communication about this at check-in or during pre-work? This place is poorly managed, disorganized and they continued to ask other patients who came in after to push reschedules. On the bright side Dr. Day was very nice and friendly, so they got that going for them. Will not be back and would recommend any other optometrist operation - it's just not worth it. 12/30/2024 I've visited this optometrist a few times, and while I've been satisfied with the glasses and contacts, the overall service leaves much to be desired. The service was awful. There's no sign to guide you when you arrive, so you have to figure out to sign in once you're there. They also seem to treat people better if you're American or appear to be. One of the ladies scheduled me for 2:30, and when I asked for confirmation, she said yes (we spoke in Spanish). However, her Spanish wasn't very good, and it turned out my appointment was actually at 12:30. They refused to see me when I showed up because of the mistake. There's no clear sign-in process when you arrive, which causes confusion and frustration. On my most recent visit, when I went to sign in, the front desk staff seemed to overlook me and another client who had arrived before me. Instead, they took the first person who signed in, without acknowledging the rest of us who had been waiting. Additionally, the front desk staff's lack of attentiveness to clients feels like a recurring issue. There's a sense of preferential treatment for certain individuals, which is frustrating, especially when you've been waiting your turn. This could be due to personal biases or a lack of proper training, but it definitely impacts the overall experience. Though the eye care itself is acceptable, the customer service leaves much to be desired. I wouldn't recommend this office if you're looking for a professional and inclusive experience where everyone is treated equally and respectfully. 2/5/2025 After more than a month, I received a call today to pick up my daughter's contacts. I waited for about 10 minutes before anyone helped me, even though there was someone available. She was rude and dismissive and I don't have confidence in her assessment because she won't listen and she says things that make no sense and won't allow for questions. Worst customer service!!! You can never get anyone to answer the phone and they say your call will be returned withing 24hrs. which is completely unacceptable! Dr Gina Day was fabulous. The office administration is horrible. When I called to make the appointment I was misquoted what my insurance would cover by $120 in excess for the examination. Over a week after my appointment , Dolce calls saying they "forgot" to charge additionally, the $30 co-pay. When I called her to express by aggravation and ask why I was told I only had the co-pay for an exam when I made the appointmnent, after my insurance was verified by their staff, her response was that that employee was no longer employed there-and basically said I am to absorb the mis-hires errors! AND responsible for her error by not charging the $30 co-pay at the time of visit. I was only given a $151. revceipt with no details for the examination. $181 for an exam I was told had a $30 co-pay! I have requested a copy of the services that included. I asked to leave a message for Dr Gina Day, and she said it wasn't possible. Furthermore " Your account will be marked no further services until the additional $30 is paid" SO unprofessional, lacking accountability, and rudeness. read more

I went to see Dr. Gina Day about a decade ago when she was in Larkspur Landing. They have since moved to across from the DMV on Tamal Vista. Just within the last few months glasses I had gotten elsewhere died after several pathetic attempts by me to repair them. Dr. Day is amazing as is her staff!!! They can be hella busy but they won't forget you. They are thorough and caring. Please call ahead so they can give you the full attention you need. I have sent friends to her, who have also been very pleased. PS - if you are on Partnership, I recommend this place over MCC any day of the year. I wasn't going to review Larkspur Landing Optometry, but they sent text after text asking for a review. I sent a form through their site requesting an appointment and to be contacted by email or text. They emailed me back telling me to call them. I'm aware they have a phone number. If I'd wanted to call I could have done so without emailing them for permission. Forcing someone to call when offering an email contact form? Well, just to start, it is inequitable for people with hearing disabilities. People who work in environments that don't allow them to be on a personal phone call during business hours (aka when they are open to take calls) would be excluded this way. And if you're neurodivergent and sound sensitive/have anxiety over phone calls or inability to focus on sound without visual cues, it's very neuro-normative and ableist. When I arrived the person who "greeted" me gruffly told me she'd be right with me and then picked up a phone call first. 5-10 minutes later, 2 more patients and another employee walked in. The second employee took one of the people who walked in after me without asking if anyone had been here first (even when he asked her if she was me based on the appointment sheet and she said no and I was trying to get his attention to let him know I was the person he had asked after) and the first employee took the other person who walked in after me, leaving me just standing there ignored and frustrated. At least one of them had their appointment time after me but they were both seen before me. Even though I was asked to arrive 15 minutes early to fill out new patient paperwork, I wasn't given the paperwork to fill out until AFTER my appointment time and AFTER both people who walked in after me were taken care of. Meanwhile, I could have at least been filling the paperwork out while they were intaking the other 2 people who had arrived after me! When I expressed my disappointment at this, I felt dismissed and was told I was "seeing a different doctor anyways". However, the doctor I saw said they didn't have assignments and I could see any doctor at the practice. This tracks since at no point during my booking or even upon arrival was I ever given the name of the doctor I would be seeing. Which I also do not prefer as it's obviously better to build a relationship with a specific doctor and not have to explain every part of the medical history upon each visit. Building a relationship with one doctor allows them to treat you more effectively IMO, as they can get to know you! Finally, the amount I was quoted to have lenses put into my frames even with my insurance discount and a discount for bringing my own frames was more than I've ever spent for an entire pair (designer frames and lenses)! read more

The exam was rushed which didn't give me time to discover what strength prescription my eyes really needed. It was not thorough, nothing like my previous exam with another optometrist. Dr. Day didn't ask me what I wanted. She went through a very fast exam and said she is giving me a prescription for reading glasses. I said I can use readers from the store for up close needs. She said then bifocals, I said I don't adapt to bifocals. She said I can use my old glasses when I am online with clients. I said my old glasses don't make details clear enough when working with clients; I came in to get a new pair that allows me to have the computer screen further away to not cause eye strain. She seemed annoyed and measured the distance I have between me and my computer screen and I felt she hurriedly checked my eyes at "about" that distance and said mathematically it isn't that different, just use your current glasses and move your computer closer. She kept talking over me, not able to communicate and here one another. I said I am simply trying to clarify what it is I need. She said she is writing two prescriptions, one for reading glasses (which I don't need), and another to see my computer further away (yet didn't do a complete exam at that distance). She said "you won't be happy with anything I offer you". At that point I got up and walked out. She changed my insurance for the appointment. I filed a grievance, as this optometrist does not listen to people's needs, doesn't do a thorough exam and is rude. I hope she gets the help she needs to be able to communicate with clients. read more

I had just gotten glasses from a company called eyeconic, and needed them adjusted/ fitted, My insurance company referred me to a series of businesses, this place was the first one who called me back and said I could come in, So as the person is helping me and im trying it on, Its not really fitting- so a girl / coworker walks up, seems aware of what to do, and takes over, I can see shes really bending my glasses which makes me weary cause it looks like shes about to break it, next takes PLIERS, * directly onto the glasses (ive seen eye techs use a cloth before the pliers to ensure there is no damage done to the plastic * ) and I instantly knew, yep, thats gonna leave a mark, and it did. I walked away happy but realistically I was upset she took pliers and I could see plier marks on my brand new glasses. Money is used to buy them and she kinda damaged it without a care in the world. Luckily my insurance company is willing to send me replacement glasses, and Im definitely not going here to get them adjusted, nor should anyone that cares about their property. read more

They did not even acknowledge me when I entered the building on several occasions. And when I went up asking for help, they were unwilling and made me feel like an annoyance in their day. Would not recommend this place and would not continue my business here. And I wish it was an isolated experience, which was not the case. Today is my 7 old daughter first time to visited an optometry. She was very nervous and didn't respond to questions immediately. She even cried before going. Dr Day started to speak Spanish to her after no immediate response to the doctor's question, instead of being patient and either ask her again or wait a little bit to allow her internalize the question. I was shocked and told the doctor my daughter doesn't speak Spanish. She responded that she thought my daughter may not speak English well... are you kidding me? My daughter is advance in reading and writing in her class... and are you kidding me again, why would the doctor just assume she speaks Spanish? because we're not white? What a terrible experience. I had an extremely unfortunate interaction with Dr. Day today. I have never been scoffed at by a medical professional and Dr. Day did this repeatedly during my and my daughters eye exam. Taking a gracious approach, I would like to give her the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to her having had a bad or very busy day. Compiling all my experiences with her over the years however, would dictate otherwise. Previously she had not crossed the line between being dismissive and being out right rude. This is why I will never return to this office. Medical professionals should be held to a standard in both medical excellence and professionalism in interactions. I have been going here for years and loved it. Unfortunately the last few years customer service has gone down hill dramatically. So sad because it was a optometrist that I have recommended to many people as the friendliest and helpful group. If it was only a one time thing I would not be writing this. I recently recommended someone on Medicare which I know they take he forgot his card so they made him put his credit card on file until he could bring it in. Unfortunately he couldn't get it to them for two days after his appointment. He called and left a message because they never answer the phone. His girlfriend came by two days later and they had already processed his credit card. They were very curt in thier response to her. I will never recommend them again. So sad I loved them. read more

I came in for a scheduled appointment with Dr. Day in order to get trial contact lenses with a more accurate prescription for me. The previous week I was sent home with a pair that would at least get me started with my trial phase after getting an eye exam, contact lens evaluation, and fitting. My first appointment went well. Granted, we all have our "off" days and it's impossible for people in customer-facing jobs to be gracious and personable 100% of the time, but Dr. Day's behavior toward me today was just awful. I came home from my appointment feeling increasingly offended and awkward. I understand she may fit hundreds of people for contacts every month, but for me the transition to contacts is a big deal. I was hoping for compassion in my eye care provider. Here are some highlights: Dr. Day demanded to know why I bothered coming in. After reading my chart, she began to get impatient and short with me, demanding to know why I even bothered coming in if I wasn't happy with contact lenses. I was shocked at this reaction. I definitely had questions and concerns about lenses, but I was not ruling out contacts. She essentially pushed my back against the wall and demanded to know if I wanted contacts or not. I couldn't believe her nerve approaching me in this bullying manner! Until I said "yes, I want contacts", she would not back down. Dr. Day rudely dismissed my headache concerns. She persisted with describing generalities about people with headaches, claiming that almost no one gets headaches when switching between glasses and contacts of different strengths. I asked her if we could talk about my particular situation vs. generalities, and she said "No". I was shocked. She then began claiming that most of the time people get headaches for reasons completely unrelated to glasses or contacts (like psychological trauma). I was left feeling ashamed for having very legitimate concerns about one of the most important tools my body has, my eyes! Dr. Day disregarded my call to the office earlier in the week. When she looked over the notes that were left on my chart from a call I made earlier, she described it as "stuff" and I felt like she didn't take the notes to heart or considered the call with care. Dr. Day insisted on speaking in generalities and not about my unique profile. Most of our conversation revolved around "most people" and their reaction to contacts, as opposed to my particular case. What medical professional behaves that way with a straight face? Statistics are welcome, but dismissing the patient in front of you is wrong. She also continued to mention what happens to people's eyesight after they turn 40. How exactly is this relevant to me? It was as if she was scaring me about the future for no good reason. Dr. Day seemed extremely impatient and intolerant. No need to elaborate here. Most of the appointment was painfully awkward. Dr. Day was sarcastic and belittling. She said things like, "News flash - contacts will NEVER be like glasses! The materials are just different!" Implying that I should just get over it and stop expecting perfection from contacts. She was so quick to strike me preemptively when all I wanted was the chance to talk about my experience. Only after Dr. Day had it out with me did she finally come back to a set of more routine (and productive) questions (which she should have started with!), leading us to conclude that another brand of contacts may be more comfortable and hydrating for me, even if they may never be as crisp and exacting as glasses. I'm looking forward to using my contacts on the weekends, with no headaches transitioning between my glasses and contacts. All this is to say that I won't be working with Dr. Day anymore. Now that I realized they offer Saturday appointments I will continue my contact lens fitting with Dr. Haack, who I originally started with last year and is supremely kind and patient, as well as knowledgeable and respectful. read more
