I had a very frustrating experience at the Warby Parker location in Corte Madera. The biggest issue…read morewas the lack of professionalism and accountability from the staff. When I first checked in, I was told the wait would be about 45 minutes. After waiting that entire time, I went back to the counter to check on my appointment. At that point, the employee told me I would need to wait another hour because they were short staffed. The problem was not the staffing shortage -- things happen. The problem was the complete lack of communication or responsibility from the team. No one mentioned that they were significantly behind, no one checked in with waiting customers, and no one offered any realistic expectation of the wait time. In total, I spent about 2.5 to 3 hours waiting around the plaza and ultimately never even got seen to have my glasses repaired. A simple acknowledgment of the situation or a heads-up about the delay would have made a big difference. Instead, it felt like customers' time was not respected at all. Very disappointing experience.

The Montgomery Village location in Santa Rosa is exactly what you want from a modern optical…read moreshop--clean, airy, and bright. It actually makes the process of picking out frames feel less like a medical errand and more like a high-end shopping experience. The service was phenomenal. The staff is attentive without being hovering, which is great because their style selection is constantly rotating. I appreciate that they stay ahead of the curve with their designs; it's not just the same five racks you see everywhere else. I ended up walking away with two very different vibes: * The Oliver: A perfect, slightly narrow rectangular frame that's incredibly wearable for the day-to-day. * The Roosevelt: A bolder, wider frame with a classic keyhole bridge that really stands out. A huge plus is that they take insurance directly (MetLife, UnitedHealthcare, etc.), which makes the checkout process seamless. No annoying reimbursement forms to deal with on your own time. The only downside? The parking. Montgomery Village can be a bit of a maze, and finding a spot near the storefront is a "meh" experience at best. Give yourself an extra five minutes to hunt for a space. Overall, it's easily the best spot in Santa Rosa to update your look without the usual "doctor's office" doldrums.

My kids have 20/20 vision but had the hardest time learning to read. Their teachers thought they were not trying hard enough, which lead to tears, but no improvements in reading. We tried everything, and I was at my wits end, and my husband started worrying about the future. Finally someone recommended Dr. Taddei. She explained my kids had trouble focusing and tracking, and that it could be resolved through vision therapy. I was game. It took us months of weekly appointments, and perseverance with personalized daily exercises, but the results were nothing short of astounding. Not only the reading problems disappeared, but as an added bonus, my kids also significantly improved in various ball sports, where seeing the ball correctly is key. These days, their work is way above their grade. Thank you, Doctor Taddei, from the bottom of my heart, for making this possible!

Dr. Iole Taddei has dramatically changed my son's ability to interact with the world. If I could…read moregive her a higher rating, I would. My son has a history of sensory processing disorders resulting from complications of his premature birth. We have tried many different modalities: occupational therapy, chiropractor, homeopathy, and acupuncture to name a few. We have even tried other Vision Therapy programs. Everything worked just a little bit, but I was always left feeling that there was some better way to help him that eluded me as a parent. My son began working with Dr. Taddei because he had a general feeling of not being able to keep pace with the rigor of his 5th grade classwork and assignments. His writing output was inversely-proportional to his effort: long periods of thinking produced a few phrases of incomplete ideas at best. He was also very disorganized around keeping a binder containing multiple subjects and corresponding homework. He also had trouble with various balance activities which I assumed was just his personality and didn't even realize were connected with his visual processing field: always riding his bike very slowly, or not wanting to pitch a baseball, or being slower to warm up in new situations. Success is measured by what you give up to achieve it. Vision therapy was a sacrifice on many levels for our family and especially for my son. The cost per session is expensive, the time and energy of leaving school early while carrying around two other kids was exhausting, and the interim homework between each doctor's appointment was often difficult for Quinn and we would fight often about doing them. All that said, it was WORTH EVERY PENNY. I have never seen such dramatic change in my son on so many levels. Ever. Everything began shifting very quickly. In school, his writing output increased significantly. He executed writing homework and projects almost effortlessly, never asking for my help until he was finished just so I could read over his final drafts. His organization also transformed because I noticed that his binder was much neater, and after checking in with his teacher, I learned that he kept pace with the assignments and understood the teacher's directions the first time he would give them to the class. Other things that happened as a by-product: he began riding his bike around town and his aim when throwing a basketball or hitting a baseball became spot on. His teacher also reported to me that he raised his hand often in class, and spoke more freely and without hesitation. Dr. Taddei is by far the most gifted Vision therapist I have ever encountered, and I am forever grateful to her. All the sacrifice was worth every penny and every effort. I am currently starting the VT process again with my second child. If you are hesitating on the cost or time commitment, don't. I can firmly attest to Dr. Taddei's Vision Therapy program as standing alone in its ability to produce positive, dramatic results.

She was good with my son and while I feel she over tested me for glaucoma (with no family history) I went along with it every 6 months even though the test always came back normal. When my income dropped I qualified for a lower premium through Covered California, the same Blue Shield PPO insurance where she is listed as a provider. Blue Shield assured me it is the same coverage so I was shocked when I went for my exam after paying the $250 for the "administration fee" and the was charged $415 for the exam as she denied taking my revised insurance. So, basically $665 for one appointment! Needless to say, I found a new doctor. They take my insurance no problem, no annual processing fee. I should note, that my other doctors have no issue with my insurance. The new place I found also charges half what Dr. Shimokaji charges for a refraction prescription. While I had a nice long run with Dr. Shimokaji, she just priced me out of her practice. I wish I had searched for someone sooner, it would have saved me a lot of money.
