Quality eye care with an informed and caring OD. In the Warby Parker location so it's convenient to park and shop as well.

Best eye doctor I've ever had! So quick, new exactly what I'd need, and listened to any concerns or questions I had.

His teacher noticed that his fluency was not improving, despite his love of reading. After an evaluation with Dr. Taddei, we learned that our son had difficulty tracking, and one eye was working harder than the other. He had difficulty crossing his eyes. Dr. Taddei explained her diagnosis and the work we had ahead of us. It was clear that if left untreated he would become more frustrated, probably resist reading and have difficulty paying attention in school. He decided to dive in and committed to doing the work. We met with her once a week, and he did 20 minutes of homework a night. He looked forward to the weekly sessions and clearly understood the expectations. She did a great job motivating him, while challenging him. Not only did she talk about how this would help his academics, she linked the work also to his athletics, which proved to be a motivator for him. He took ownership of his homework as she had clearly explained that they would make a difference. After 10 weeks we noticed a huge improvements. For example, he can cross his eyes on command; fairly facilely he can converge and diverge. Now as a fifth grader, he reads above grade level with improved fluency and immerses himself in chapter books. We actually have difficulty tearing him away from texts. Throughout the process, Dr. Taddei had an excellent rapport with our son. Her activities were varied and engaging with a good balance of hands-on games and puzzles and on-screen, computer activities. He loved the virtual reality activities that felt like video games. I highly recommend this intervention if your child is having difficulty with reading. It has made a world of difference for our son.

My kids have 20/20 vision but had the hardest time learning to read. Their teachers thought they were not trying hard enough, which lead to tears, but no improvements in reading. We tried everything, and I was at my wits end, and my husband started worrying about the future. Finally someone recommended Dr. Taddei. She explained my kids had trouble focusing and tracking, and that it could be resolved through vision therapy. I was game. It took us months of weekly appointments, and perseverance with personalized daily exercises, but the results were nothing short of astounding. Not only the reading problems disappeared, but as an added bonus, my kids also significantly improved in various ball sports, where seeing the ball correctly is key. These days, their work is way above their grade. Thank you, Doctor Taddei, from the bottom of my heart, for making this possible!

She was good with my son and while I feel she over tested me for glaucoma (with no family history) I went along with it every 6 months even though the test always came back normal. When my income dropped I qualified for a lower premium through Covered California, the same Blue Shield PPO insurance where she is listed as a provider. Blue Shield assured me it is the same coverage so I was shocked when I went for my exam after paying the $250 for the "administration fee" and the was charged $415 for the exam as she denied taking my revised insurance. So, basically $665 for one appointment! Needless to say, I found a new doctor. They take my insurance no problem, no annual processing fee. I should note, that my other doctors have no issue with my insurance. The new place I found also charges half what Dr. Shimokaji charges for a refraction prescription. While I had a nice long run with Dr. Shimokaji, she just priced me out of her practice. I wish I had searched for someone sooner, it would have saved me a lot of money.

Unfortunately, I was not able to see the doctor due to a $250 up front "administrative fee" to even…read moresee her - a fee I can't afford at this time. I think it is unfortunate that, even when one has insurance, there is a premium that has to be paid to see a doctor, especially the top choice on YELP!
