First off everyone here is VERY nice - the process is very simple and relaxing. The lashes came out beautifully but I have terrible allergies so I ended up having to have them removed because I kept wanting to rub my eyes and couldn't - if I did they would come out. My entire experience was negative. I broke my neck to make it to my appointment on time because she only had one opening before i went on vacation. I arrive on time and ended up waiting 30 minutes for her to finish the previous client. Viviana I think her name was. She was not very welcoming. I informed her it was my first time thinking she would guide me through the process but she only said "sit your things over there and lay on the table". The process was about 2 hours long. The lashes looked nice at first but I noticed a lot of irritation. I assumed it was normal because it was my first time. She didn't tell me about aftercare she simply took my payment then gave me a card with the after care on it. Long story short my eyes were irritated my entire trip and lashes continued to fall out even after following the directions on the after care card. Now after only a week I have maybe 2-3 lashes remaining on my right eye and less than 1/2 on my left eye. I attempted to reach out but she never answered my calls nor returned them. I won't be returning and I don't recommend them especially when there are so many people to choose from in the Houston area. read more

Unfortunately, I have to update my review. The last time I went, I was surprised at the change in customer service. The atmosphere was unprofessional and Mimi was very rushed. She picked up her phone multiple times while doing my lashes and did them in a hurry. When I paid for my refill they tried to charge me for a 3 week refill when it had only been 15 days since my last one. I had to pull out my calendar to show them proof because they did not believe me. Piece of advice: keep track of your refill dates or you will get taken advantage of! By that night, almost 10 of my eyelashes had already come out. Sadly, I don't think I will be going back. It is a shame because Mimi did such a good job the first few times! read more

This will be my last visit to Luxe lash studio. Mimi was my stylist, and she was extremely rude to me. In fact, I have never been treated so badly as a customer. She insulted me several times, asking if I had taken a shower before I came and then pointing out that I had a mustache while she was doing my lashes. I was also over charged for a lash refill. They are supposed to charge only $45 for a refill, but she charged me $60 because she said it had been 3 1/2 weeks since I had been to the studio. They recommend that you get a refill between three and four weeks, so I'm not sure why I was charged this extra fee. I explained that I am a resident and I work 80 hours per week, I only get one day off per week, and I try to come in whenever I have a day off. Needless to say, I will NEVER be coming here again. Mimi, if you treat all of your customers this badly I can't imagine you will be in business for much longer. read more

I'm upset that I had to update my review and for a negative reason. I was extremely happy with this place. I love everything about it but this last visit 1 week ago made me change my mind. First of all, Mimi asked me what I wanted and I said "natural but full" because that's what she suggested to me and on one of my visits I said I wanted longer that time and she tried to convince me not to but I said that's what I really wanted , so she did and needless to say, She was right, I didn't like them near as much as I did when I would get them "natural but full". (Back to where I was) So last week when i went, she asked and I said natural but full and she said "no, I'm going to a bit longer for you" .. Why would you ask if you are not going to respect and provide me with what I asked for? Anyways, when she finished, I went to pay and I give her a $100 bill and I stand there waiting for my change (because when I txt for my reservation, I specially explained I was a previous customer but that this was a new top set and I was told $80), well Mimi says "okay, thank you.." I asked her about my change "she said, no change, it's $100" I told her about the txt and showed her, she said that wasn't right... Well I always tip her, needless to say, well I didn't this time and still she stood there basically waiting to see if I was going to tip her. That was just the visit, now the bigger problems have been my lashes. My lash extensions have always lasted, even after getting refills about every 10 days, this time, within the first 2 days, a lot of my extensions fell off and the ones I still have (I should say had, which I'm going to explain about as well) are all matted together. I don't put any products on my extensions and I brush/separate them with the spooly but still, they look awful. Well today at work, everyone was telling me one of my my eye's was really red and the other just a bit. My extensions have been really uncomfortable this week but my work schedule has and is crazy and I can't book/go in for an appointment for another few days and I can't wait, in desperation of hoping I don't get a pink eye or anything, I googled methods to remove them at home. I ended up doing the steam method for about 15 mins and have been up for 2 hrs (it's 4:25am) removing my lashes carefully (of course, some of my own lashes are coming out with the extensions) but at this point, it's become such a problem, I rather have it take all my real lashes (I know that's not good) but my eyes have been extremely irritated all day, I can hardly see, it hurts to blink and this is what it came down too... I did notice since I have been removing them, a couple of them are clumped together, like instead of doing 1 by 1 individually, there would be a cluster of like 2-3 together. Unfortunately, not a good ending for me and needless to say, I will not be going back which I'm not happy about. read more

I just got one step closer to suing Mimi. I don't know where all these good comments were coming from. For those who think Mimi's work is great, you are maybe new to the lash extensions world, or the posts were too old and hasn't being updated. For the past 2 months, I kept finding her making excuses like maybe she was tired so she was not friendly, she has a walk-in to take care of so she was rushing to get my work done. I kept given her chances to let her work on my lashes, My lashes did look ok at the beginning, and the price was affordable. And that was it! I said to myself before I found a better place to go, I need to be patient with her. The latest experience I had was that I felt a sharp pain one day I opened my eyes. This happened when my eyelashes grow and they tried to pulling away from each other. That's right! They were glued together!!! I couldn't help but rubbing my irritated eyes and finally the bad extensions with my real lashes were fell out. You know if you glue 2 real lashes in one, your work is bad? When you found out you have many extensions and your new lashes that were glued together here and there on your face will you be mad??? When I found another place to go, the new lady left me some evidence and she explained to me why my eyes suffered so much of discomfort and how serious the damage could cost me If I kept having this sloppy work done on my lashes. I have posted some pictures to show you the big chunk of glue on the lashes. Well, you won't be able to find out how lousy work Mimi did if you don't change to another lash extensions service. The only place I've ever gone to get lash extensions and will ever only go. Dee is the best! She takes her time and ensures her clients are happy. I get so many compliments on my lashes and I always suggest to go to her! My lashes stay beautiful for 4 weeks + but I usually go get a refill at the 4 week period to avoid paying for another full set. Lash extensions were something I was always hesitant about because I felt that was just something else I'd have to maintain. I'm so happy I took the plunge and decided to do them. I've gone to Dee for about two years now, and every morning when I'm struggling to get up and get ready I'm thankful I have one less thing to do. Her lash extensions have saved me so much time and leave me feeling gorgeous without any makeup on. A great beauty time saving trick!! I wanted a place that was cheap enough for a college kid like me but won't glue my eyelids together like those horrifying anecdotes of eyes turning into lips from the hands of unskilled therapists. I promised myself I would only go to a place with 5-stars, since I know I am super prone to allergies-and that might include eyelash glue. I did a lot of research and one of them said she couldn't open her eyes afterwards; the other said her eyes swelled up. Throughout the treatment I could not sleep because I was scared of all these things happening to me. However, when I was done, I opened my eyes to AMAZING lashes. My eyes felt a bit watery right after (and obviously that worried me) but returned to normal within minutes. I have super frail, short, downward-pointing lashes that tear off even with an eyelash curler, but Mimi managed to transform them into gorgeous, curved lashes that I never imagined my lashes could pull off. Plus Mimi and Diana (the receptionist) are just very sweet people in general. Other 5-star reviews say it all. TL;DR Very sweet, professional therapist who will not harm your eyes; guaranteed safety and satisfaction. Can manage eyelashes that are extremely difficult to work with.
