Where do I begin! Lashes by Ann exceeded my expectations and removed my fears. I'd tried lashes before about 10years ago and didn't really like my experience. They were in my opinion always heavy and too much even when I asked for a natural look. I decided to try again for my birthday. So glad I did my research and found this place. From start to finish everything was perfect! Scheduling and customer service was precise and convenient. I went with Mila after reading reviews and she was so sweet and very informative. The man at the front counter (forgot his name) was very friendly and greeted me as soon as I walked in. Mila had a short consultation with me before she started to see what I was looking for. She told me everything that she would do and she checked on me throughout the process. It only took an hour from start to finish which was quicker than I remember my last experience. My review is long overdue. While the lash technician here is nice and polite, the lashes did not last at all. I paid $125 plus a tip for a service that only lasted me 4 to 5 days. By the fourth day, my lashes were sparse, and some were twisting and hitting my eyes. Unfortunately, I was out of state on vacation, so I couldn't return for any corrections. I had been getting my lashes done at a different lash salon for MONTHS before trying this place, and I really wish I had tried it wayyyyy earlier. My lashes at the other place lasted 2 weeks tops. They would fall out (just the extension, not attached to my actual lash) all the time. I thought it was normal until I tried this place. It's been a week and I can honestly say I've only had 4-5 lashes fall out that I've noticed. And they were attached to my real lash, which makes me think it was just my real lashes naturally shedding. What really sent me to try Lashes by Ann is that my eyes had a terrible reaction the past 2 times I got them done at my old lash salon. I thought I was allergic to the glue or something. I told my concerns to Kim, my lash tech at Lashes by Ann, and she said it was more likely that my old lash tech applied the pads incorrectly so they were rubbing my eyes. Kim was incredibly careful and kept checking in to be sure that I wasn't feeling any discomfort. She did great, I had NO itchiness or redness afterwards, which was such a relief. I also really appreciated that they did a refill (instead of a whole new set) considering I had lashes from a different salon. Tldr: My lashes look great, they last a long time, and Kim took extra care during the application to be sure that there was no pain or discomfort afterwards. This place has really changed within the past year. When I first started getting my lashes done there I absolutely loved everything about this place. Now, things are horrible. The front desk is extremely rude! Sometimes my lashes last and sometimes they don't. I will say that they will offer a correction however, it is a complete inconvenience to have to go back in when you've lost several lashes within a day of your appointment. I would not recommend this place. Response to owner: I will not remove my rating. You only posted part of the text... Did you include the number of times that I've had to come in for corrections (and there were honestly more I just didn't have time to keep coming in for corrections), did you note the number of 1.5 week fills due to my lashes not lasting? I stayed with you all this long because I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. The bottom line is that there are much better lash places in the area. And please stop contacting me! I have nothing to say to you! And please be careful with using words such as "threatened" as that is a very damaging word and actually never occurred. CUSTOMER SERVICE & PARKING The customer service here is good. Everyone is nice. The front desk and appointment contact can be a bit pushy though. I don't enjoy the parking. There are only 2 parking spots here available to customers. The only other option is for you to park next door in a janky lot and take a walk. LASH QUALITY The last few times I've been here to have my lashes done, they don't last at all. They fall out so quickly within the first week that by the time you get to your 2 week refill appointment, they are telling you that you need a full set or a 3 week fill & then will tell you they don't have time to fix your lashes during your booked appointment. I've had my full set in for 1 week and they already look like I need a 3 week fill on one eye and the other looks like it needs a 2 week fill. I have huge gaps and they are going in different directions. This is despite taking care of them. It just looks awful. LASH GLUE In addition, I don't know what's up with their glue. When I use their regular glue, I get the WORSE allergic reaction. I switched to their medical glue & still get itchy and dry flaky skin around my lashes. I have NEVER experienced this at any other lash studios in Houston. I can use regular glue at other studios with no issues. PROFESSIONALISM Another thing that annoys me are some of the technicians. They will start and stop your lashes a million times to fix the tape over and over again getting glue into you eyes and wasting time. They will pick up their dirty phones and text, then play in your eye. They come in with colds and runny noses under their mask. They never remember that you need medical glue on your file (so be careful). They don't remember what length lashes they use on you. It's just not a tailored or considerate experience. They will blast you with tons of messages the moment you reach out to book an appointment. If you text to book an appointment, they will call you. If you don't pick up bc you can't talk, they will call again and again LOL. Then when you finally book the appointment you get more than a few text messages and reminders. If you are 4 min behind they will text you to see where you are but please believe if you are on time, they will get started on you 5-10 min late anyways. They require a deposit of $50 but will ask you to move your appointment around the days before. It's just hypocritical imo. Finally -- you can tell what type of people are running this business by their willingness to respond and engage in a tit for tat debate, proffering up evidence like they are in court, etc. The majority of business owners don't do this. They simply don't engage or apologize. It really shows a lack of business acumen, professionalism and maturity on their end. Reading their comments to negative reviews just gives me the ick. People have a right to express their opinions and feelings so that other consumers can make an informed decision. 10/10 do not recommend. I really wanted to make this place work given its convenient location and appointment availability but it's not worth the money. There are studios providing lash extensions that look 100x better without these problems, if you are willing to search. read more

I have been addicted to lash extensions for about a year now! I have been going to Kim at the Montrose location since I started getting lash extensions and she is excellent! She helped me figure out the limitations on length for me (glasses/goggles I wear at work for example) and also always makes adjustments as needed due to my eye shape (can't go too close to the inner corner of eye bc of the fold). We also over a few visits worked out and experimented with how much volume I wanted as I didn't want too much!) I usually fall asleep during the appointments and enjoy a nice nap. I could probably go 3.5 weeks before "needing" a refill but I prefer to go every 2-3 weeks since I touch my eyes a lot and once the lashes start getting slightly sparse I prefer to just come in for a refill for completion's sake. Also the FAQ on their website was very helpful for my first time! It's also super easy to schedule or reschedule as needed on the website or via text, and Duc is always very responsive and helpful! I usually set up my next appointments before leaving, but whenever I've had to reschedule it's usually easy to do so! I've been complimented on my lashes so many times since getting them, and I've recommended Lashes by Ann to multiple people! Would definitely recommend. I don't have any experience with the other lash technicians as I've only gone to Kim since I was first scheduled with her, but I am sure they are also great, as I've seen other clients' lashes while I'm in the lobby! Highly recommend and will continue going here! Also I have very sensitive skin and they do offer medical-grade tape and eye patches which I used on the first appointment but we tried the regular ones after that since they're more effective/sticky but they didn't give me a reaction! The place looks very clean and cute. They had complimentary snacks, I believe. The staff was nice. I was assisted by Evie. She was gentle and made sure I was comfortable for my appointment. There was relaxing music that wasn't too loud nor too quiet. I will say that there was noises of balls or similar hitting the floor but it might have been the store next door. Not too loud but noticeable. Location was next to Galleria area, on the second floor. Parking was easy to find, even at 5:30PM. I just would've liked to be told more information about care for the lashes, I feel like there's more to just "avoid water for 48 hours." Still the best experience to me! They are good at texting you to remind you of appointments and about parking. I didn't think it was overwhelming at all. There are two spots in the lot dedicated to Lashes by Ann and one of them was open so I didn't have any troubles. Go up the stairs to the back and you're greeted by Thinh. He welcomes you and checks you in. Refreshments and treats while you wait. My girl was running slightly behind, just 5 minutes, not a big deal. She grabbed me and showed me the different lengths of lashes I could go for and I just chose one not knowing what to expect. I got the longest "natural" length look - I believe the 12s and I'm still not use to it but everyone says I look more awake and that I look younger! Yay! Avery was good - I actually fell asleep when she was working on my right eye. She was hesitant to use the medical glue cause she said it doesn't stay on as long. So we just tried the normal stuff. I thought the gel pad they placed underneath your eye and the tape they used made my eye itch but I'm not sure there's a way to avoid that. But that was the extent of the uncomfortable. She offered me a blanket in case I was cold and changed the pillow cover when we were about to start. I didn't like walking into a used pillow cover but at least she remembered to change it out. She sorta explained the maintenance instructions to me afterwards but I thought I'd get something to explain the care of the lashes when I went home. Overall, I was happy with my results and will come back for the 2 week refill! I'll let you guys know how it goes and how quickly they fall out in the meantime! Still not use to showering and trying to not get them wet within the first 24-48 hrs though. We will definitely see! read more
