I waited far too long to make this review. Never made a review on a company before but today I…read moredecided enough is enough. When I walked in Major Chevrolet on 43-40 Nothern Blvd January 10, 2014 , my intention was to purchase a used car to drive up to Buffalo for school because I was ill all the time and doctor visits were becoming hectic with rental cars. I was told "why get a used car if you dont have a husband or father to check on it since they always give mechanical trouble". I was naive to cars and of course they are sales person so thats their avenue to take advantage (fair enough). But it wasnt the advantage they took which is the problem, its the lies they told. I told them I was a graduate student on a low budget, they claimed they would give a discount of $3000 to the value of the car if it was new ( never did) but told me they did). I least the vehicle with the intentions it was a 3 years least and at $199 a month ( it wasnt). only in the end to be told lowest they can go is $266 because I never owned a vehicle before and thats the lowest the financial company would go to give me the money. LIARS .. they determine how much they want me to pay for the least. They could have given the least for a lower cost and then in return that would reduce my monthly bill.. Ok fair enough, I still agreed. I was rushed the entire process and it was a rainy night. Even to get a test drive was rushed, as if I dont get the privilege to relax and see what I like or to see other models. I believe the sale rep was Angelo and the general manager Castotelli ( or something like thatt). I was told this would be a 3 years least , over and over again. To my surprise when I was home one day and reviewed the papers .. it was for 39 months. Now with purchasing something and someone over your shoulders telling you its 36 months you be good , never occurred to me that they would be lying and needed to check every numbers as there was many. Now the cost of the vehicle was never deduced, never got a discount. When asked their response " Dont worry its a least the discount is there" . Called to asked about the extra 3 months was told to take it in at 3 years if thats the big problem, but no one said how my remaining least payments would work out for those 3 months. I wish I was still around the NYC area to return the car to them and tell them in person what a shitty way of business they do. I was asked over and over to give a great review of them online because people gave bad reviews all the time and now I see why. Beyond done with CHEVY.

The most unprofessional and rudest company I have ever encountered in my life. I went with my…read moresister to buy a used car which while test driving it seemed perfect and the car fax seemed clean. The place was closed and we were already staying after hours, so once we finished the paper work we drove off. Not even 5-10 min after driving out the lot, the car engine light comes on with a warning that it was overheating and to pull over. This happened 3 times on our 30-min drive back home. We didn't end up calling them because we assumed the place was closed and everyone left. We called the next morning to report the issue but was met with a condescending response "well did you check the anti freeze" and had trouble getting the warranty we were promised the day prior. We go to Pep boys to get a diagnostic and the mechanic who works there said it was a transmission issue and we were sold a lemon. We go back to management only to be dismissed and told that pep boys doesn't know what they are talking about and that they are not a reliable source. At this point we are frustrated with not only the dismal of our experience with the car, but them claiming the diagnostic report was invalid since it doesn't have "an explanation". So now we want a refund (it's been under 24 hours). They refused to provide a written statement of the total full amount to return to us, and the original check they gave us of the full amount, they immediately canceled it right after giving it. They failed to inform us that they would have their mechanic look into it which could be subject to change the amount given due to the transportation & dmv admin fees. Apparently their mechanic didn't find anything wrong with it at all, but didn't want to show us his diagnostic since "we no longer want the car". Car-less and now with a canceled check in hand, we go in person to straighten this out only to be met with yelling, belittling, and straight up ghetto attitude. Keisha, the owner, also mentioned "this is why she doesn't like to do business with black people". After the entire headache, we were given a new check with the less amount, now currently holding our breath that we will be able to cash it come Monday. The lack of accountability, customer service, and professionalism is astounding. I wouldn't be surprised if we get a response from the manager or owner showing the attacking and customer blaming. They said they are a "business", well how about being honest and transparent, showing empathy to your BUYING CUSTOMERS WHO KEEP YOU IN BUSINESS. Luckily we got some money back, but it did not come easy. If they escalate this, best believe we will get lawyers involved.

Where do I begin? My husband and I were in need of a vehicle. We were on our way to the Honda…read moredealership but we stopped by John Johnson Select Used Cars. Tony Moretti greeted us in the parking lot as we were looking at a Jeep Cherokee. We decided to buy it and were informed the vehicle had an oil change and was maintenanced. When we test drove the car, I noticed only one key. I inquired about the second and Tony said that it was probably available but they wouldn't have it until the plates came in. He told us if they didn't, they would cut us a new one. Ok, no problem! Tony completed the lease agreement at their used lot and fortunately gave me a signed copy. He informed us of the Powertrain Warranty which was to be included. I'm glad he wrote it down on the lease! They did not have the ability to process the paperwork at their location so he drove us up to Johnson Dodge. At JD, they told us they couldn't get us in our price range so we increased our down payment as much as we could but it still wasn't enough to get us within budget. Strange, but it wasn't too bad, so be it. They had us sign off on the lease through a digital pad so the numbers weren't visible for us to see but the only change made from point A to point B was the increase in the down payment. When we left the lot, I noticed the maintenance message said the car needed an oil change. Maybe they forgot to reset the message? Fast forward two weeks. We received our first statement. I noticed the principal balance seemed rather high considering our down payment was a third of the cost. This prompted me to pull the paperwork from the dealership. To our surprise, they tacked on $3000 for the Powertrain Warranty!! What the...?! I immediately call them to find out the story. I spoke to Tom, who told me that the lender required us to purchase the warranty in order to approve us for the loan. He also claimed they wanted to charge an 8% interest rate, and in order to get a better rate, we had to purchase the warranty. That didn't make any sense so of course I confirm that information with the lender, which to no surprise, ended up being a total lie. If it was valid, why would they not have said something sooner? We called them out on it and faught tooth and nail to get them to fix the issue. They finally agreed to cut a check and pay down the balance but it would take a few weeks. Now I'm paying interest on the $3000! Finally, when the plates came in, we inquired about the key again. They told us there wasn't a second key and that we would have to pay $300 for it! Seriously??!! Not to mention, during the battle we kept addressing the oil change situation and they wouldn't even acknowledge it. Of course this was the least of my concerns. Since they were unwilling to help, I made a call to John Johnson himself to fill him in on our experience. Fortunately, he made it right. I went back in and they drew up a new loan, putting us back into our initial price range, and cut me the second key I was promised. At this point, I asked the girl in the service department if an oil change had ever been done to the car. She looked it up in the system and confirmed it did NOT. So I asked her if they did oil changes to the used cars. Her response was yes. So I asked if mine would be done too. She told me they have a coupon for a $20 oil change!! Seriously?!?! I'll go down the road and spend $40 for an oil change out of principle. So my advice to anyone reading this, go to the Honda dealership. PS I should mention they bribe people for reviews... hence all the "good" ratings. Don't be fooled. I was offered $50 to write a favorable review. Glad I waited.
