If you want a builder gel in a bottle overlay do not let this salon do them. I had did some research prior to getting them done in the salon and didn't understand why the nail tech was putting the product on so thick and I thought when it was time for my fill-in it would be better but it was not. It took hours to get that stuff off my nails which essentially ended up destroying them. My nails were awful I couldn't even wear them without polish because the builder gel looked like a poor acrylic service. The salon also does not offer custom nail colors. A customer should be able to walk in with a picture and at least get the nail color they want even if the design might not be possible. Great service tech- i dod nail, pedicures, massages, facials for 25 years 1 of the best in Md. This was as close as I could do myself. The only thing good about my service was the finger nail outcome. Toni was my nail tech, seemed sweet but didn't allow me to clean my nails(when asked and I stated 2x), he didn't clean my nails or cuticles(language barrier he acted as if he had gender me from being more persistent). At the end of my finger nails being done he drilled the inside of the new nails causing my real nails to be Brooke and irregularly hanging from nails (I thought he was drilling excess gel). They didn't have a foot scraper nor pomade stone, and again he didn't cut the cuticle for nails on my toes (I said 4 x, loudly I said "I don't want a scrubbing I want scraping of the dead skin, he finally admitted they don't even have a scraper or pomade stone) . I received a gift certificate for Mother's Day which was the reason for my visit. Do not go here if you want the full service you paid for. My total with tip no design was $195! Yes he left the peeling skin from the nail drilling around my name. I know he is one of the owners which is why he may have be lazy with the work. Never ever again, my sister and mother goes here's. I asked why would they send me and they thought I would get something basic which seems to be this ships level of service! Basic but not fulfilling! I had a terrible and humiliating experience at Lux Nails Chester I came in for a manicure and pedicure and picked out a nail color with the technician's agreement. Instead of using the color I chose, she came back with a completely different one and applied it without checking. When I calmly told her I didn't like it, she got upset and refused to do my pedicure--the second half of the service I was scheduled and ready to pay for. She claimed she didn't feel "comfortable" doing the rest of the service just because I voiced my opinion. The situation escalated quickly--her coworkers began yelling at me and they even called the police on me as I was leaving. I was shocked and humiliated. Thankfully, I recorded the entire incident, or they could've made me look like the problem. I didn't raise my voice or act aggressively at any point. No customer should be treated like this. If you care about being respected and heard, I strongly recommend you stay away from this salon. I've filed a formal complaint with the state board as well. read more

To summarize the proper procedure was not followed to safety remove my existing set of nails. I arrived 45 minutes early to allow time to soak my nails off to prevent excessive damage to my nails. The nail tech elected to drill rigorously into the nails any pry false nails off with another false nail. The drill going at maximum speed cut deeply into my cuticle and the nail tech responded my attempting to take a nail dust brush across my open flesh thus potentially putting existing debris and bacteria into my now open finger. I ran my finger under water and applied pressure to stop the bleeding. I noticed that the tech went onto service another customer while I sat attending to my wound. Due to the fact that I occupied the sink for a considerable amount of time I can confirm this tech did not was her hands before swiftly moving on to service another customer fresh off of cutting my finger open. It was It was not until I walked over to her and asked what she intended to do that she sent another tech to me with peroxide. I sat with finger in peroxide and still bleeding wondered if or how anyone would help me. I had to again call to the staff's attention that I was sitting there bleeding only for Tony to look at me and laugh and say "sorry momma". A tech comes over with a green substance she claimed to be disinfectant, but turned out to be just a liquid Band-Aid. I finally get into Tony's chair and he finally brings out the acetone to appropriately soak off the remaining nails. After I explain the irony and my frustration with being injured he offers a free full set once my finger has healed. I do not believe the appropriate protocol was followed regarding injuries that are of a biohazard nature. The lack of concern shown by staff was devastating. I did visit an urgent care facility for an assessment of my injury and have been prescribed antibiotics just in case I see any swelling or discoloration in the next few days. I was also provided with a topical antibiotic ointment to take home. It is highly unlikely that the drill bit that cut me was removed or cleaned and likely immediately used on the next customer. None of the techs wear gloves while serving customers. read more
