If I could give this store zero stars i definitely would, I came to buy one item and the customer service couldn't have been the most disappointing. I get that we are in a pandemic and there are procedures in place. Waited 15 minutes in line with no complaints looking forward to some Friday shopping. I was escorted to the back to wash my hands and given a shopping basket to purchase my hair product and that was okay until the sales representative gave me a five rant ok how to wear my mask. My mask was on my face and it was covering my entire face. There was no reason to give me a lecture on how to wear my mask, my mas was on and that is the whole point of the mask. I appreciate good customer service but I was not treated kindly at all. Will not be returning to this store. This is not how you treat a long time customer. Their covid response is a bit annoying and over the top. No one else in the mall makes you do a hand washing and rules debrief before going in. If it wasn't for really wanting a particular product I wouldn't have bothered with the needles wait. read more

This review reflects a product and the company's efforts to respond by hiding my review on one of their products. There is a product called the Secret Art, which is a bath bomb and/or bath jelly. It acts like a bath bomb at first, giving off a wonderful aroma. You are then left with sludge and a very daunting task to clean up the bathtub afterwards of the remaining blobs. I submitted the review on the company's website, however they did not post the review, censoring my opinion that this product should be sent back to the drawing board for improvements and I will not recommend any sort of bath jellys, especially this product. read more

What can I say except I love Lush. They recently expanded their store at Tyson's and its fabulous. It's like the Willy Wonka factory of bath products. Everything in here looks so fun. All of the products are made fresh and cruelty free. You cannot go wrong with the bath bombs and bubble bars if you're a bath lover. They are too fun. I did try a solid shampoo but it totally dissolved in my shower (mind you I didn't store it in a waterproof container) but I do love their philosophy of using minimal packaging. Also, you can return you empty bottles back to the store for them to reuse which is great. I believe you can get a free face mask if you return three large containers:) The face masks are YUM. I got "Rosy Cheeks" and "Cup O' Coffee." I love the fresh scent of the rose mask and the coffee mask is very rejuvenating (perfect for a morning pick me up). Check it out! read more

this is the biggest lush ive ever been to. its also the only time ive walked by or in one and didnt get a head ache from all the overwhelming smells, i assume due to the amount of space & air flow. it was quite pleasant. that wasnt remarkable enough alone for me to want to write this review but there was a sales associate named jo. i had to come here to talk about her. she is very sweet and personable, fun personality. she knows so much about all the products and how to pair them. if she cant answer your question she knows who can. she will most def. take the time to walk you through the entire store if need be. shes excellent and i wanted to come here to give her kudos! read more

I can't stress enough how much I love this store! I get kids bath bomb, shampoo, and body bar as well as shampoo, face masks, lotions, lips scrub for myself. This is also a phenomenal place to purchase some very unique gifts for friends & family. I absolutely love the bath bombs they have! They have things you wouldn't even imagine like all natural deodorants and bunch of others things you would never think you need until you try it and fall in love. This is definitely a wonderland for folks that really appreciate and enjoy all natural products. I can't say enough good things about their stuff! I write this review from my bathtub where I enjoy the first bath in seven years (Let me clarify that I shower consistently, but bathing is a luxury). The water is a sparkly galaxy of pink and blue and my mind is at ease (aside from writing this review from an unconventional place). I'm not the most gung ho about the Lush-ployee "Let me show you all the things" strategy and usually steer clear of the shop but it's been 5 years since I last saw my friends and when we met up at Tysons I got to thinking how long it's been since I last bathed (ahem- refer to the fact that I do shower). The Lush store was in a new, much larger location in the mall and I was enticed. I remember in my childhood bubble baths were mankind's greatest contribution and I'd long forgotten the feeling of a great bath. I entered the store with a mission: to find a bath bomb to use tonight. And find a bath bomb I did! I think it was some Sakura version that is pink on the outside and sparkly blue on the inside- but that's not the point here. I ran to the checkout as I was already anxious about taking a bath. There was this cashier there who kindly greeted me and began to type in my item. I proceed to take out my wallet and.... drop the entire contents of my wallet on the floor. Embarrassed, I picked up my 15 or so gift cards (scrounged from the past 5 years... sadly none belonging to Lush) as the cashier empathized with me in a way that made us both smile and gave me a sample as my face turned continuously red- she played off the situation perfectly and gave me a second sample while we had quick witted banter about names and clumsiness. One of the samples (a salt body scrub) even went well with this once in a millennium bathing ritual I'm currently engaging in! You said I made your day but you actually made my day. Lush recently moved from their corner spot to an actual store front on the second level not too far from their original location. This new location is huge and so inviting as you walk in and notice all the pretty colors of their products and floral scents. I believe this new store is currently their biggest location in the US. I first discovered Lush when a friend asked "have you heard of a bath bomb". I was thinking a bath what? I was disinterested at first by their prices since I personally tend not to spend too much on beauty or skincare products. But after learning about their cruelty-free, vegan, natural, and ethnical standards, the prices are worth these handmade gifts, for a friend, or for yourself. It is almost very difficult to walk into the store now and not buy something. Their new location now has haircare, skincare, makeup, bath and spa luxuries, and everything in between. The service here is awesome! I recently made a visit in search for gifts. I needed gifts for my coworkers and my one male coworker. They took the time to go over different moisturizers, as well as neutral scents for the gentleman. I also had a specific gift in mind that I saw on their website and they graciously went to the back to look for more, since there was only one left in the front and it was losing some decorative sparkles. All in all, fabulous service and love their ethnical and fresh products. You've got problems, and your friends suggest you go see a doctor. You're anxious about what you might need and looking for all the help you can get. The ladies at Lush Tysons are the doctors you need. They're skilled, trained, knowledgeable, approachable, funny, and all-around as good as it gets. Lora and "Hot Toddy" have helped me out twice in the past few weeks. I've used a few Lush products since January (R&B and Tea Tree Toner, per suggestions from friends) but was running low. I did a solid amount of research on the website before coming in and had a good idea of what I'd be picking up, until I received stellar recommendations from the staff. Lora was keen on sharing not only the special, natural ingredients in EVERY product I picked up, but fully explained how they function to better my skin, hair, etc. I was even given suggestions on how to mix different products to get the results I was looking for. They explained so clearly how each product worked and assured me of the right combination of products to achieve my skincare goals (which I had help determining, too). Seriously...an unparalleled customer service experience. I've found nearly everything I've been using to work extremely well, with my desire for vegan products that don't test on animals. I'll be moving away next month and hope to find the same incredible help I've received at this store at another Lush location. read more

But I mainly want to praise two employees that made my experience so lovely the last time I came in for a visit. It was inauguration day, I was forlorn and looking for some self-love in the bath bombs section when Angel and Elizabeth graced me with their presence. We walked around the store for 30 minutes just gabbing about life and delightful lush products. I left a very happy camper and am already anticipating my next visit. This is the funniest Lush shop I have ever been to! The Tysons location is skinny-skinny like a one-way alley in France. Amazingly, the shop holds the same amount of product as the larger shops! Of course, this is just a review of this particular location and not Lush itself, but it goes without saying that Lush has many great products. I'm not too crazy about the use of a few certain parabens in some of the products, but that's for another place. Anyway... The happy-happy Lush fume-breathing workers at this location are over the top cheery and extremely helpful. The funniest thing you'll see at this Lush is the exiting of the store at one exit, only to re-enter the store at the other opening. You'll see what I mean when you visit this shop! read more

This location of lush and where it's placed in the mall is really awkward and it makes it a PAIN to get through. Was here yesterday to pick up a gift for a friend and I knew what I wanted exactly and was ready to get out. I wanted to take a look at the other stuff (like the face mask) but because of the narrow and awkward layout of the store I said F it. Horrible, horrible layout. I was greeted by two sales associate but I already knew what I wanted so I didn't need their help. Other sales associate were too busy talking about other things and I'm just like ookayy... why are you giving me the up & down look when I'm here to help YOU and buy your products... smh Anywho, the products are alright. Nothing I would really go out of my way for to get. I used to use their facial cleansers and their not life changing and did nothing for my face. Big fan of Lush. Not only do they have great, all-natural, vegan products, but they are my new hair salon. :) I recently went to this store to get my hair dyed using their henna blocks. For your first time, they apply it to your hair for free (any time after, it's $20). It's so worth it, because if you googled "henna hair dye", you'd see what a messy process this can be to mix/melt the henna yourself and try to apply it to your own hair. The only awkward thing is that they set you up on a chair (borrowed from Sunglasses Hut) over some newspapers in the middle of the mall hallway. So it causes a bit of a scene, but luckily their location is sort of off to the side. And then they wrap up your henna-slop-covered-head with saran wrap and send you on your way. (It needs to stay in for 4+ hours!) Evan, the store manager was awesome to work with. I was really indecisive if I wanted to go from blonde (my color for 28 years) to red. She went over the pros and cons with me and we looked on the computer at the Lush forum to see other before and afters. I ended up biting the bullet and LOVE how my hair turned out. And for $23 for 6 blocks, this is so much cheaper than the chemical dying at hair salons and so much better for your hair. I'll be going back to Lush and Evan every time I need to re-dye! read more

I am a huge Lush fan! They are a green company, that sells high quality bath & beauty products made with all-natural ingredients. The girls who work here are very sweet & they know the products well! Since discovering Lush, I love bathtime! It's like you get to play scientist, mixing different scents, bubbles & melts together. My favourites: Angels on Bare Skin is the most amazing cleanser ever. The Fresh Face Masks are awesome (Love Lettuce is the best!). A lot of their products are vegan friendly! They disclose all ingredients w/ their real names. As a green company, they offer reduced packaging. You can bring your empty, used bottles & pots back to the shop for them to recycle. (save 5 black pots & get a free face mask!) They encourage reusing little bath-bomb-bags. (or put them in drawers to make clothes smell yummy.) They frequently partner w/ different charities & organizations that try to enact a change for the good of the environment. As I type this, they are trying to save sharks! The ONLY down side would be that it's too easy to spend a lot of $$ here. Everything smells so delicious, it's hard to say no. read more

I love Lush. Any Lush. The products do amazing things for my hair and skin and the staff is always very helpful and educated on the products. This time, I was in here with boyfriend to get his grandma some soap. We decided against anything that was described as "sensual" or "sexy", as we were talking about his grandma. We settled on two that were really nice, and I found one for myself as well. I was also going to get myself some more Honey Trap lip stuff, but was introduced to A Million Kisses lip and cheek tint. I LOVE this stuff! It's going to be my go-to this summer. I'm glad it was recommended to me. The only thing I don't love about this store is that it is TINY! People were tripping all over each other to get to the products they wanted. This was annoying. I wasn't in love with that at all. Lush is too popular of a store to occupy such a small space. But the staff here was super helpful and I'm glad they introduced me to a new lip/cheek tint. read more

I am hooked! Lush is the only place I'll go to now for face products. I like knowing that their ingredients are all natural. I used to have severe nodular acne (on back, chest and face), and I had to take two rounds of Accutane. Ever since, my skin has been very sensitive. Most facial cleansers are too harsh on my skin, and it causes me to break out. Currently, I'm using Angels on Bare Skin as a cleanser, Cosmetic Lad as a moisturizer, and Breath of Fresh Air as a toner. I am slightly disappointed though that they have discontinued Sweet Japanese Girl Cleanser. It worked well managing my acne. The staff at the McLean store are nice, helpful, & knowledgeable. The store itself is a bit small/crammed, but that is my only issue, and not so much because I usually know what I'm getting when I'm there. read more

Whenever I'm at Lush, I always feel pressured to buy more than I want. Stick to your guns (or funds) and know your product. The staff is very knowledgeable, but I would highly recommend browsing through the website to get an idea of what you want to purchase. I always find something cheaper than what the reps suggest that serves my purpose. Note - I would skip the lush gift baskets and perhaps compile your own. Yes, it's nicely packaged, and it seems like a great deal given the amount of products for the price, but you are getting less (in terms of fl. ounce) which isn't really a deal at all. Store is small and can be cramped (it's really a corner, as opposed to a store) and given the space-ratio-to-soup, all the smells can be overwhelming. I would recommend going on an off-peak mall hour or going to a different store entirely. I can't say I love their products, but I'll splurge every now and then whenever I'm feeling down or just want to do something to brighten up my day. read more

I absolutely adore Lush and find about 75% of their products to be top-notch quality. The staff is always friendly and I love that you can leave the store with a ton of samples. I am not a huge set up of the Tyson's store. It's small and cramped and you basically have to grind up on someone to get past them. It's mega awkward and leaves room for zero to no personal space. For the most part, I've always enjoyed my purchases from Lush (the bath bombs are to die for). But I have been disappointed a time or two. For example, I don't really love their lip balms (they were way too waxy) or the hair treatment big that I purchased (it required you to massage your head for 20 minutes... who has time for that?!). read more

Lush is a cosmetic store that makes amazing all natural products. The first time I shopped there my family started only using their cosmetics. Once you use them it's hard to turn back. My favorite of their products is their Honey Bee Scrubbie. The Honey Bee Scrubbie is a body bar that will leave your skin soft and smelling sweet for days. That is only one of the great products that Lush has to offer. Lush is such a unique store. They come up with so many creative products that you won't find anywhere else. Some people say that it can be too expensive to shop there, but I think it's worth it. Their cosmetics last a long time and are extremely healthy for your skin. The only product I didn't like at Lush was the sea salt scrub. I don´t think there was anything wrong with the product it just didn't agree with my skin. Whenever I used it my skin would get really dry and start to burn. I ended up giving it to my mom, and she loved it. Another great thing about shopping at Lush is how good they are to the environment. They try to use the least amount of packaging materials as possible so that they don´t throw away too much trash. All of their containers are recyclable. Plus, part of the money they make goes to animal awareness and many other organizations. They never test any of their products on animals either. I was surprised to find so many things that Lush does to help the environment. Lush is such an amazing store. I recommend shopping at this store to anyone. If you haven't, you're missing out on all the amazing things that Lush has to offer. read more

Only two cons: the size of the store and some of the prices (although that didn't stop me lol) I can't imagine ever coming here on the weekends or during peak hours, it's so tiny! However, my trip tonight was my first but won't be my last. Only a few people came by since it was around closing time, so I was able to walk around and take my time. The sales associates were so nice, and customer service is HUGE for me. I even ended up staying until closing talking their ears off (oops). Lush is also big on anti-animal testing, and they apparently ship their tins back to Canada for recycling- not China. Woo hoo! I'm a fan. read more

I've never been to a Lush store so I looked at their products online. Once at the store, I was a bit overwhelmed by all of the products but the sales lady was super awesome. She ended her statements as if asking aquestion which I found was cute. She took the time to explain everything to me and tried some product on my skin. *For first-timers: Don't be afraid to ask for a smaller size or samples!!! Try different products before you splurge your money. I took home five samples that the lady whipped up for me. I'm giving this particular store 4stars because of the size. It's very small- at the corner and it gets really awkward walking back and forth with other people standing there. Baskets get in the way and you tend to bump into each other. read more

Visited Lush on a Saturday afternoon and it was a total zoo! They have recently relocated in the Tysons Corner Center, going from the smallest Lush store in the chain to the largest store in the chain! But growth comes at a price. It was really hard to find someone to help locate items. The few salespeople I saw were helping other people, taking a really long time. The salespeople also positioned themselves so as to block entire shelves. Yep, I got the stink eye when I tried to look for something on a blocked shelf. Since I couldn't find one of the things I was actively looking for, I asked an employee who was opening boxes at a closed checkout station. She gave me an answer that was so vague, I shouldn't have even asked... sorry to intrude on your opening boxes. I ended up not getting an answer as to where that specific product was located, so obviously, I didn't purchase it even though it was on my list of things to buy. That was pretty disappointing. They offer reusable totes for purchases for an extra $3 which isn't bad. They also have bandanna type scarves to tie up products for a gift. As for products, there are some really good ones that I enjoy using. I am crazy about the Coconut Hand Scrub and the Woosh shower jelly (it kind of feels like holding a jello jiggler) They have products that I would purchase if not for their horrible smell. An example is the lip scrub: you have a selection of mint, popcorn, or bubblegum. I am not a teenager and I really found these artificial scents super yuck! Looks like I will get lip scrub from Tony Moly instead! I also like their bath bombs, but I think $6-10 is pretty steep. They do have lotion in a solid bar form that you can put in a small tin and take with you. They sell the tins that fit the products. I love the peach lotion bar! Constructively, I would like to see the salespeople wearing something bright so they can be easily spotted. I also think there should be more salespeople on the floor during peak hours... maybe restocking could happen at another time unless a specific product is completely gone from the shelves. I would also ask that Lush, as a company, to please stop putting such horrible smells into their products. For a company that prides itself on its purity, I don't get adding in artificial scents (like bubblegum) into products. It would also be nice to have matching sets in a particular scent (ex. have shampoo and conditioner bars, shower gel, and a lotion all be one scent). Overall, it is worth the visit. Just be prepared to wait for service! Dont' plan to go in and casually browse on a weekend! read more

This is by far my favorite store. My husband and I went vegan about 2 months ago, and this has been my go to store for products. Their shampoo bars are fabulous! My husband and I use one, and it's going strong! Cleans well. I've tried their bar conditioners, and got a free sample of a liquid conditioner, both worked really well. The body butter bar (Aqua Mirabilis), makes my skin crazy soft, I couldn't believe it. The "Rub Rub Rub" shower gel also works to exfoliate your skin (I use that before the body butter). The "Big Tease" hair gel is the best I've found for my hair (think and wavy). It's worth its weight in gold as far as I'm concerned. I also tend to have rough skin on my heels, and their "Running to the Embassy" bar is the only think that keeps my feet soft. Everything smells wonderful, the staff are amazing (they ask you what smells you like/dislike, don't push any product on you, and give you treatments galore so you can sample everything). Most of their products are vegan, they use recycled materials, and if you return 5 black tubs (they put their hair, face, and lotion products in them) you get a free product. read more

I was seeking a new perfume, and he expertly guided me through a spectrum of scents. His ability to describe aroma by way of metaphorical landscapes, locales, and emotions translated these bottles of yummy smells into wonderful feelings. We were helped and introduced to many products by the sales girl Kelly. She was super nice and helpful. Took the time to introduce us to some products and sample them. Honestly if it wasn't for her I wouldn't know what to buy for myself and end up spending on everything. l LOVE the bath bombs, you really can't go wrong with any of them. I'll start by saying I've never met an employee at this location that wasn't incredibly helpful. Everyone I've talked to at this location has listened to my (very very picky) needs, as I have allergies and a connective tissue disorder that means I have very delicate skin. Kate specifically helped me today, although I was helped by two other great employees (I believe one may have been the manager on duty). I found so many products that I'm excited to try out and hadn't even heard of. I also mentioned to them that one of the products I was looking for was for my girlfriend, not myself, and from that point forward she proceeded to use gender neutral pronouns when describing to Kate what I was looking for. I'm cisgender (she/her) but I appreciate her thoughtfulness in that circumstance and it really goes to show the respect and consideration that the employees here have for their customers. The staff all seem to have a LOT of knowledge about everything in the store, which is mind blowing to me because of the huge inventory. Seriously cannot say enough good things about this Lush location, if you're looking to stock up you should absolutely come here! read more

LUSH is one of those highly-addictive luxury stores that can easily become an expensive habit if you're not careful. They sell a full range of fun, novel, environmentally-conscious bath and beauty products. Their products are great as gifts, occasional indulgences or a DIY spa day, but hard on a student budget for any more than that. However, a little goes a long way, so I always get far more uses out of a deceptively small product than I think I will, which helps make up for the price. I love their face products for dry/sensitive skin (esp. their masks!), bath bombs (esp. Big Blue, Sex Bomb), shower jellies (esp. Joy of Jelly), massage bars (esp. Mange Too) and various scrubs (esp. Glorious Mud). Their soaps and hair products (except for the shampoo pucks which last forever) are way too expensive and aren't that great; many stores sell higher-quality natural soaps/shampoos for way less. I also agree that their gift boxes are not a good deal and- honestly - I wouldn't want such highly-fragranced items crammed in a box together for weeks, because their scents will end up fusing together and will lose their individuality. This location is pretty cramped, but bearable during off-hours. The salesladies at Tysons are always peppy and knowledgeable (and often pushy). However, when I say the words "student budget" they usually back down, and so long as I buy a few things, they are happy to give me generous samples of products I haven't tried. Their store parties are fun, too! All in all, a trip to LUSH is always guaranteed to make me smile :) read more
