I was with a party of 6 on a busy, Jammin' Jensen Thursday night at 7pm. The outside bar was packed but we found seating inside quickly and were waited on promptly by Candi, clearly an experienced waitress. Our party mostly chose the Mahi entree save one fish and chips order. All agreed that for the price, delicious food( nothing fancy- just fresh and cooked just right) and great service, we would return again. read more

This is a nice place for some fresh fish tacos or fish fry. Better pick an off time or find a outside table if you want to talk. The acoustics are not good.Tacos are fresh but i would cut up the fish use more lettuce and add a sweet sauce for flavor. Fish fry is a very generous helping for a big appetite. What started off as a lovely evening turned into complete disappointment and confusion. I will not ever return to Lures after last's night experience. Never in my life have I been kicked out of a bar for having a political discussion. We were not arguing or causing any drama. The conversation was not loud, and no one was upset or offended. And the worst part was we seemingly had a fun rapport with the bartender who was completely fine with hitting on me and getting my phone number, but then kicked us out for discussing politics with a small group of friends. Was this restaurant policy?? Was it posted anywhere that politics was a forbidden discussion? I thought this was the land of free speech, but Lures resturant and bar sees it differently. And on the Fourth of July!?! The manager was no help whatsoever. The bartender and I flirted and exchanged phone numbers. That was clearly a huge mistake , as he insulted us all calling us lower then garbage and blowing up my phone with text messages because we left a small tip after kicking us out. Yes we tipped small because we were spending time and money there only to be asked to leave due to "politics ". And it was handled so poorly. This is a terrible way to run a business. Both the bartender and manager had no good reason for asking us to leave and we actually left with the other patrons whom we were having discussion with Because they thought it was a joke too and decided to leave when we got kicked out. Kinda think it became personal with the bartender, but this is his job and he had no professionalism whatsoever. if this is the restaurant's policy they need to train their staff to address the situation better. read more

Have been meaning to stop in for a bit, now that I have, nothing short of what I imagined. Bar atmosphere however the food was exceptional. I have loved I this town for a long time and by far the best fresh fish sandwich I have ever had!! Hog snapper war the fresh catch and I had a fiend sandwich and was beyond impressed!! When it comes to Lures the word "consistently " comes to mind with their wonderful fish & chips. (Actually we typically skip the chips and get the spinach). Good portions great quality and consistent preparation - hats off to the chef. I'm willing to compare with the great John Gs in Lake Worth at a better price. Also, if you like hot pretzels, you need to try what Lures serves with hot melted cheese - great with your favorite cocktai - especially during 3-7pm happy hours. read more

Okay, so we have gone there many more times. I'm still not going to give them a 5 star simply because the outside bartender has been rude on several occasions. She is the one that greeted us that Saturday night by rudely telling us that they were closing in 15 minutes when it was 11:00. The bartenders are also basically unable to make a good drink. Knowing that I tried switching to something that can't be messed up. If you order Jack On The Rocks, you will get a sad little shot thats been shaken over ice for almost $9.00. I'm not sure why Jack is so expensive down here, but it's considered some premium liquor in Florida. lol. It's call liquor all day back in Michigan where I came from. I guess this is just not a place to go for drinks. Anyway, the food is actually really good. Almost everything that my wife or I have tried has been great. We eat here at least once a week. I highly recommend eating here. Our waiter is always nice and we have spoken with the owners on a few occasions, who have been nice as well. I have a feeling that the owners are either Chef's or have a very strong background in the kitchen, because the food is excellent. The bar however is in need of proper management. read more

We live locally and when this place first opened we loved it! Great food, decent service, great bar! That being said we have been there twice now when fights have occurred due to people drinking to much. The first time was inside the restaurant during a football game. After asking the guy behind us to please stop bumping our chair he tried to throw down with my husband simply for asking. This most recent trip we were sitting at an outdoor picnic table when a drunk young man picked a fight with an elderly man. He was violent, screaming obscenities and smashed a beer over a chair... this all occurred just a few feet from our table in front of my parents and small children. The bar tender did nothing and it was quite a few minutes before anyone from inside the restaurant came out to address the issue. Even after the drunk man finally was kicked out all we got was a "so sorry" by the waitress. Where was the manager? Why is this sort of thing allowed to continuously happen?! It's ruining what could be a great restaurant. We won't be back. read more

So, I'm 5 minutes from the restaurant and show up and dine inside with a wonderful Lady at the bar. This place is fantastic. The food was great! I got the mahi-mahi tacos and the fish was in generous portions. My father got the fish and chips and it was near perfect. The staff are very friendly and entertaining. Also the squash pasta was the best I have ever had. They also have a nice little outside bar with great sea breezes. This bar is definitely my favorite in downtown Jensen Beach. I used to enjoy the larger mulligans a block away but the new renovations made it lose the Jensen Beach vibe it once had. read more

We had dinner here last night and it was absolutely fantastic. We were walking around during Jammin in Jensen and decided to stop in for a bite to eat. We were promptly greeted and seated as soon as we walked in the door. Drinks were made extremely fast and the service was on point. My fiance had the chicken tenders and I had the reuben with no sauerkraut. Both were delicious and very well priced, especially compared to similar restaurants in the area. Jensen philly sandwich was tough, and tasteless meat, so tough I sent it back. They took it with no apology. The grouper sandwich was also tasteless and soggy. I took the fish home for my dog. I had an entertainment coupon with me but gave it to some other diners on our way out because I'll not be back to use it. read more

Initial review. First time eating at Lures. We went to try the JB steak and cheese (with fries) specifically. My wife got the $3.50 happy hour glass of chard, and I got the $2.50 Yuengling. Good price (chard was fine). We split the steak&cheese (provolone, mushrooms, onions, peppers). It was large, has some serious weight, and plenty for the two of us,. It was also delicious! Probably the best S&C we've had in the area. The roll it's served on is light, fluffy, and fresh. The fries were also excellent (just good and crunchy (double-fried?) and good flavor). It 'ain't' cheap @ $13, but quality is not cheap. We'd get it again, even at the price. FYI: We also like the S&C at Lefty's in PSL, and it's only $8-9 with fries. Still, Lures S&C beats it! For the person who said the the S&C was too large, and that it came with stuff on it she didn't like (jalapenos, cherry peppers ?). Really? May have been a joke since you don't need to eat it all if it's too much, and you can ask for what ever you want on the sub. By the way: I got cherry peppers on the side (wife not a big fan), and added to my half. Excellent! Cool establishment. We ate inside at one of the high tops. Nice inside, friendly staff, nice feel. We stopped in here while on a weekend getaway. What a treat! The staff was super friendly and made great suggestions. We had wings to start out, followed by hand pattied 10 ounce burger that was char broiled to the exact temp I ordered, mid rare. My wife got the cheesesteak and it was also fantastic, real shaved ribeye steak, not steak eeze. Such a treat to stumble on to a little place doing things right. Finally tried this restaurant. The outside bar crowd as you drive by gave me a certain impression, however, I was wrong. We sat inside, and fortunately they had some craft beer on tap, as well as a decent wine selection. The craft beers are very reasonably priced. We had fried shrimp, which I can honestly say were the best I've had in a long time...lightly battered and fresh. Also had the grilled swordfish, though you can order the fish cooked different ways.
