I'm in the city for a conference and the screw for my eyeglasses came lose and my lens popped out. I called them to ask if they are able to fix it for me and they told me that they could, even if I haven't bought the glasses from them, and that I'd have to bring it for inspection. I may have written a review already and my experience was at the chestnut hill store with Achilles. As someone else said this store is pricy and they have amazing brands from France including Anne Valentin and face a face. From start to finish Achilles has this amazing ability to zoom in on what looks good on you. He's laid back and doesn't pressure and knows what glasses go with your look and face pretty quickly. My glasses came in a bit ahead of time and I don't think I will go anywhere else when I need glasses. read more

The Lunette Optic Optometrist in the Boston Financial District location was very rushed frequently distracted. During the patient visit she frequently and overtly checked her Apple Watch and rushed patient eye exams to the point she became so distracted that she charted protected patient medical information in the wrong chart. In response to the above observations she was asked, "What time does the practice close?" Her response "everyone here goes home right at five o'clock". This level of rushing medical care was hard to justify as the it before 3:00 pm at the time. Thus, feeling uncomfortable I informed the optometrist I had concerns in the speed in which she performed the subjective refractive clinical/visual acuity exam. She then prescribed contact lenses, discussed the cost and provided a lengthy written patient fee contract to sign. Feeling rushed during this appointment we elected to conduct our follow up appointment at the Lynnfield Mass Lunette Optic location instead. During the follow up appointment the new optometrist, he repeated the eye exam and reported to us, the prescribed use of the contact lenses by the Boston Financial District Ophthalmologist would actually cause life long harm by worsening the underlining medical condition. Moreover, he reported due to the age of the patient and the underlying medical condition "only glasses should of been prescribed to prevent the eye condition from worsening." The business owner Dr. Michelle Rahimian was made aware of our concerns regarding the potential harm of the contact lenses prescription by the Lunnette Boston Financial District Optometrist made aware to us by the Lynnfield Mass Lunette Optometrist. During this conversation Dr. Rahimian failed to acknowledge this error and instead worked hard to pivot the conversation, even talking over us, adamantly stating how the eye exams between her optometrists, although weeks/months apart, all demonstrated close to identical visual acuity results. Due to these factors, and concern with the eye care recommendations that were prescribed, we have now sought eye care at different location. read more

Excuse was given that since you did not buy them there they wanted to not touch their products without done firm of payment. Walked right across the street to another who did it for free. Want something truly unique beyond the wonderful items Lunette already carries? Look through their Trunk Show list. I met the designer behind ic! berlin and onono frames. He personally picked out frames that I later purchased. I now have two frames, several lenses, and a frame repair from Lunette Optic. I enthusiastically admire the work done for these, each for its own purpose - progressive, computer and sunglasses. Dare I speak of progressive lenses in the positive?! I mean, we have to wear them but we hate them, right? I am not suggesting the Lunette staff is magicians but these are the best made progressive lenses I have had yet. I am going to recommend Lunette, and especially this team of people, even through mistakes. The handling and resolution of mistakes is the true test of a good business. We had a miss on polarized or no for the sunglass lenses, an easy miss: yes / no. The correction was made without question, without issue, and with ease and grace. The sunglasses are beautiful, unique, and above all comfortable. They are easy to switch into, so I am more likely to wear them. These are the lightest frames and lenses I have owned in 38 years of wearing glasses. Lastly, I am very fussy about the fit of my frames, in particular the straightness on my face. I've been searching for glasses for about a week. Initially, I wanted something that was cheap and started looking at providers known for selling cheap glasses. Didn't find anything so I started looking at more upscale places to see if there was a difference in quality and design. I've probably tried on 50 different frames in 3 different stores. Lunette was the 3rd store I went to. Prior to walking into the shop, I had no idea what to look for in eyeglasses. My search was primarily based on comfort and how it looked on me. The moment I walked in, one of the associates, Kristin, was incredibly welcoming and ultimately ended up helping (or rather consulting) me in my search for the right pair. She brought out a bunch of different options and designs and encouraged me to try them all on to better gage what my preferences were. She helped me understand why a pair was better suited for my face and helped explain the nuances in the comfort. Kristin was incredibly knowledgeable of the different brands/makers they carried. She did an amazing job at explaining the differences in the designs between makers, etc. One of the pairs she showed me was a Bevel that checked off all the things I wanted in a pair of glasses. Kristin soothe any concerns I had about the quality of the product. She even adjusted the ear handles for me so that it would sit better on my ears as I was testing them out. She also constantly adjusted the nose pads so that every frame I tried on would sit properly on the bridge of my nose. We went over pricing and she was very understanding of the costs and went above and beyond to break down the charges, explaining every material that went into the lenses they sold. True care givers. My timing was good. I brought an old pair of glasses in for a prescription update. The glasses were finished a week before the High Street location in Boston closed in response to the pandemic. The staff made sure I knew they were closing and gave me the option to have my glasses mailed to me. I got them the next day and continue to work from home. No headaches and no straining to read my screen. The eye exam I had two weeks ago was also the best I've had in a long time. Ok so before visiting this place, I dropped by SEE on Newbury St. and Eye Q in Harvard Sq. The selection here is creme de la creme. IC! Berlin, Prada, etc. Prices are steep (about $400 for the average frame in there) but the quality and style found there is worth it. If you're the kind of guy that would pay $200 for a Gucci belt then this is your place. As with the other nicer eyeglass boutiques, the salepeople there were kinda pushy and snobby to a degree. I was looking in the Prada case when the lady came by and showed me a pair of IC! Berlin that I loved and straight off the bat she said "these are $400 - just for the frames. " =/ They have good taste tho cuz the glasses they picked looked excellent on me. Btw, look up what your insurance will reimburse you because they gave me some inaccurate insurance information... So 5 stars for the nice frames they carry and 3 stars for the sales. Total of 4 stars. read more

I went here for an eye exam with Dr. Michelle Rahimian, and I highly recommend her. She was great at explaining what she was doing, why she was doing it, and was really great at answering my questions. I felt really comfortable the whole time, and would definitely go back for exams. It never felt like the staff was pushing frames or other products onto me, and they were actually really helpful when it came to sorting through their various frames. If their prices weren't so steep, I'd probably have bought a pair. However, I know that they carry some pretty obscure brands so definitely a good place to go for that. I have gotten two pairs of glasses at Lunette in the past couple of years. I returned there because they have the best selection of high-end frames in the Boston area, at least that I have found. Bevel, Miklis, etc. Hard-to-find, expensive designer frames. And I mean expensive. Getting designer eye-wear is one of my only clothing vices--I figure for an item I wear every day of my life, I want it to look GOOD. So I pay up. The thing about Lunette is they aren't easy to get to, or get your glasses from, unless you work down the street from them. The most annoying things is they are closed on the weekends!! What? That is when I have time to do stuff like pick up my glasses! So then I end up driving into and out of the city at rush hour during the work week. Also, I had a three week wait for frames this past time--that was crazy. My husband had ordered two pairs of frames from a place in Medford the week after me and had them both in his hand within the week. I was still waiting...and waiting...and they didn't call me to tell me there was a problem, I had to call them. Besides all those issues, they really do have a nice selection of frames, and I think their staff is helpful and polite. They offer 25% off frames if you have eye insurance, which helps when your frames are mondo-expensive. read more

Ok, already was really happy with my Lunette experience, but had to update. I went back to get my frames adjusted. 1. the woman who helped me pick my frames 10 months ago remembered my name as soon as I walked in the door. 2. they replaced my frames. I just needed a little adjustment, but because there was a scratch on the lens and the arms didn't tighten to the adjuster's satisfaction, I'm getting a brand new pair. Wow. I had a contact lens emergency - I ripped my left lens and didn't have a spare. I have terrible vision, I live more than an hour away, and I had a full day of work ahead of me, so I was headed toward a migraine pretty quickly. I walked into Lunette Optic and Sydney hooked me up. The brands they carry are tops. I love Oliver Peoples and I like that the technology they use at Lunette is also tops. I was buzzed in, and they gave me their disclosure - not responsible if anything happens because glasses were not purchased there. I order my glasses $ 757. I go pick them up, and they didn't read the prescription correctly, and ONLY did the lenses for the distance, NOT the reading. Ok. Mistakes happen. They re-did, I picked up yesterday, and the only did the lenses for READING this time - no distance ? WTF ? They had the prescription. Now, I will need to come up with the difference of $200, and drive from the Cape to their shop for the 3rd time, plus another once they correct. Think I will go to Providence - maybe they can read a Dr. prescription. read more

Terrible. I went to see two different optometrists here, and each time I felt they were trying to get me to do more tests and more visits than I needed. Looking for the $$. Bad decision to go here. The one time I needed them to do something (measure my PD for a new set of glasses that were a gift from someone), they refused to do it. I like this store, then again I work right across the street and the convenience does go a long way towards influencing my opinion. I went here to see the optometrist. Not only was he super friendly but did a fantastic job, he gave me better than 20/20 vision! Also, they have great technology available, including the first eye exam I have ever had when they used this camere to take a picture of the inside of my eye. No dilated pupils here, I walked out and went right back to work. He took some pictures of the inside of my eye and explained what everything was, took some of my mystique out of the process I guess. I went back there to look for a pair of glasses (once again, right across the street) and found that the prices were steep. Then again the designers were also pretty haute couture, especially iC! Berlin, which makes an awesome pair of glasses. However its tough to get past the price, the iC! Berlin pair that I saw (and loved) cost 500 AFTER my insurance. A few years ago, I started to experience mild eye strain and headaches as a new job required me to spend considerably more time working in front of a computer. I went to Lunette for an exam, as it was convenient to my office location. I had an eye exam with Dr. Rahimian, and she confirmed that while my vision is near perfect, I would benefit from a pair of basic reading glasses to help with monitor glare and magnification. I selected a pair and it resolved my issue. So why the negative review? Last week, my frame snapped just as I am about to ramp up for considerable work travel. I called Lunette just to explore my options as glasses are not something I typically need to concern myself with. The receptionist threw a little attitude at me over the phone because she was unable to find history of purchasing my glasses there. I decided to stop by their location during lunch to determine the disconnect. Upon arriving, the receptionist continued to throw attitude at me about the glasses, insisting that I did not purchase them there and also making sure to point out in the most condescending way possible that Lunette would never carry such "cheap" glasses. I am not sure why she insisted on directing the conversation to where I purchased the glasses, because I had no expectation of receiving free replacement frames. I simply had a problem I was attempting to solve, and I typically appreciate solutions to attitude. Maybe I was wrong. Maybe I got my "cheap" reading glasses from a Cracker Jack box. It doesn't matter. What does matter is that I entered your store yesterday fully expecting to drop a few hundred dollars on a new pair of reading glasses. Instead, I will take my business elsewhere to CVS or Costco or one of the other places where I can purchase "cheap" glasses. I've also shared my experience with several family members and coworkers who are also your customers. The customer isn't always right, but sometimes it does help to listen. In response to Ted M: Apologies are not conditional. I don't know about finding peace, but I did find some place else to take my business. I had a great first experience at Lunette Optic, but my second visit wasn't the same. On my second visit, Dr. Rahimian was my optometrist. She was nice enough, but when it came time to examine my eyes she was very pushy in making me choose their high-tech machine that takes pictures of your eye instead of having to go through dilation. I got the sense that they wanted everyone to use this machine because it costs $40 (under my insurance) to help pay for their purchase and the Dr. doesn't' have to wait for eyes to dilate before the examination. I felt added pressure because i had a 4:30pm appointment and felt as if everyone wanted to leave so they didn't want to wait for my eyes to dilate. Overall, I left feeling bullied into paying $40 for an eye picture when i could have had my eyes dilated for free (especially because i have had no prior eye issues, I only need glasses to sit at my desk at work). After the exam, I sat with another staff member to get new lenses for my frames. She immediately put me down for the most expensive lenses, and when I asked why they were so much, she said they had all of these added features and coverage, but told her I only wear them at my desk, which then led her to down-grade my lenses (but why wouldn't she ask how I used my glasses first?). This appointment made me feel bullied, rushed, and manipulated. I will be taking my business to one of the dozens of other optometrists in the area. read more

Absolutely the best eye exam I have ever had. I have worn glasses and contacts for twenty years. This doctor's office has some modern machines that can detect potential eye damage. I was really impressed with the team and with the information they were happy to share. In addition, I have recommended the doctors to my friends and co-workers and they were also impressed. I just want to kick off by saying that the staff, especially James were generally great, which is the sole reason for the extra star, otherwise this would definitely be a one-star review. So the staff is very knowledgeable and pretty helpful, which is why I chose Lunette over a handful of other shops in the area. That and their selection. However, my positive experience pretty much ends there. I ordered a pair of Oliver People's frames last week of February, which I am still waiting on by the way, today being April 18th (Is that long? I think it it's long!). I was initially told they were back ordered for 2 weeks. 2 weeks is not that bad, so I said, cool, let's do it. 2 and a half weeks later I received a call letting me know the frames were further delayed, and so on, and so forth for over 60 days. Each new ETA I was given was just long enough to be annoying, but not quite long enough for me to tell them to basically peace out. Especially since I already paid for the frames. Long story, but Lunette basically ran my card for the full amount of the frames, vs. $60 deposit. I didn't dispute it, thinking that I would have my glasses soon and would eventually pay the full amount, so who cares? I'm not bitter, and that's not really my main point of contention anyways. My gripe, take it as you will, is basically this. Had I been told that it would take 60 (or more, who even knows at this point?!) days to get my frames in stock, plus time to fit the lenses, there is ZERO chance I would have waited. I certainly would have found a different pair, or a different shop, whatever. However, since I kept being put off with inaccurate time frames in 2 week increments, I hung in there a LOT longer than I should have. Also, and this is where my disappointment turned to sheer frustration, I was not offered any discount in exchange for all of the nonsense, and when I inquired, I was told somewhat begrudgingly not to expect anything "substantial". I realize it's not the fault of the personnel if the maker, distributor, or whoever doesn't deliver their product in time, BUT I do think it is up to them to make it up to their client when something goes wrong, especially if the client is spending almost $500 on a product. I will post again once this gets resolved, hopefully this year, but I will not hold my breath that anything positive will come of it. Other than me finally getting to hold something I've technically owned for over two months now. read more

I had gone here once before (in 2009) for an eye exam and glasses, and the main reason I picked Lunette Optic at the time was because they carried Chanel. But my experience was excellent - not only was the exam quick and easy, but the staff was very helpful and involved in picking out the right pair for my face, etc. I finally came back today for another eye exam (almost 4 years later, which is awful, I know) and because I was interested in getting contacts as well, and the doctor who helped me, Stephanie Dunker, was really patient and great at answering questions and helping me get the hang of putting my contacts in and taking them out - I'd never worn them before so it was a bit daunting - and it turned out to be easier than I expected. She also took the time to do the contact lens fitting even though her schedule was tight, which I really appreciated. The brand and model she picked for me are also extremely comfortable, and really help with my nearsightedness. They even go so far as to schedule a follow up appointment with you for new contact lenses, just to make sure that they really do work for you. I have purchased glasses at Lunette in Dedham, Boston and Hingham. My vision is a top priority to me and I have historically had a difficult time finding progressive lenses that work for me. Lunette offers the best options I have found and are incredibly thorough making sure that you are happy with your glasses. I love Dr. Rahimian! She is thorough and takes all the time you need to understand what is happening. The staff are very helpful in picking frames. If you are looking for bargain basement glasses, shockingly enough this store in downtown Boston is not for you. As a former wearer of $39.95 MyEcono glasses I've been there and know that at certain points in your life all you need is something that helps you see. If you have the budget and coverage Lunette is a place where you can really enjoy buying beautiful well crafted glasses. They have invested in the latest technology for retinography while as an upcharge of 40 bucks does allow for digital comparison and staging- an early way to catch diabetes, hypertension and god forbid intracranial masses. Beyond the eye exam, the sales staff are really helpful and have great taste. I no longer pick out my own frames I just tell them what colors or look I am going for and they always deliver. Alex has helped pick out two amazing pairs of glasses recently and not only were they a great style choice he knew the manufacturer's info and what could be tweaked and shaped, and what my prescription meant for the wear and shape of the frame. I would say for the cost conscience budget around 800 for frames and lenses which is by no means cheap but the service, follow up and style is a fun investment if you wear your glasses everyday read more
