I've been going to Annya at Luna Salon for 3 years and I'm constantly getting compliments on my color from strangers. On numerous occasions, when I tell strangers that I go to Annya @ Luna Salon, someone else pops into the conversation saying they also go to Annya. Then we all have a bonding moment about how talented and personable Annya is. I have many friends who go to Annya. I started going to Annya when I first moved here with dry and over processed damage to my hair from a previous treatment I had while living in Chicago. My wish was to be more blonde but Annya educated me on the further damage that would happen if she made it more blonde. I appreciated Annya's honesty and integrity. Annya gave me a regime to get my hair back to a healthy state where she could eventually make me more blonde. Slowly and consistently, we followed her regime and along the way, she added high and low lights; and now my hair is healthy, shiny and blonde again. I still keep up with the regime to keep my hair healthy and continue to get many compliments on my hair. Annya has a great reputation and a large clientele so her calendar books quickly. Meleah is great to work with in scheduling my future appointments to ensure I get on Annya's highly coveted calendar. I look forward to coming into the salon where I feel valued. Anya is AMAZING! First off, I am a guy in my mid 20's, and I have been coming to Anya for over 6 years now! It is rare that you find a guy who is willing to pay salon style prices, when most other guys my age will simply get a $15 haircut at the local barber shop. The reason I keep coming back is because she has consistently given me the best haircuts I have ever had, even when I decide to change my hair style, which is 3 times now. Anya has given me exactly what I was hoping for each time, while still being flexible to my preferences at that time. She knows my head like a road map! I get compliments from complete strangers and associates all the time on how good my hair looks. It is because she is so talented that her appointments fill up quickly, which is why I plan ahead, and book multiple appointments, months in advance. This is not to say that things dont come up, but when they do, Anya has always been flexible to the best of her ability to squeeze me in where she can. If she is not able to see me, Malaya will fill in and cut my hair to the same caliber as Anya. I love coming in to get my haircut because of the friendly, and professional atmosphere. I can consistently ask her about tips about styling and taking care of my hair, and I am always surprised by her knowledge of the products she is using. This is now the longest I've stuck with any stylist. Annya is amazing and rolls with my multiple personality disorder behavior when it comes to my hair. She likes to have fun with my hair when I'm looking for something new, and she can talk me off a ledge if I'm going to do something crazy, or persuade me to keep going on a good look if it's working for me. Luna Salon is the type of salon you enjoy being at. The ambience is romantic, calm and inviting. I've been having my hair done by Annya, the owner and founder of Luna Salon, for years and she is the master of luscious locks. For years I was hesitant to have any color put on my hair as I like the color of my hair. I eventually let Annya put color on my hair and finally saw the full depth of her talents. Luna is fabulous. I'm with all the other 5 stars on this salon! It's a warm, welcoming comfortable salon, unlike the large, loud bustling places I've tried. The Stylists are all sweet as can be and attentive to your needs, even if they aren't the one working on your hair. I have been a customer of Meleah's, as have several of my friends and we are always super happy afterward. I have literally gotten texts from my friends on multiple occasions just after having their hair cut or colored, raving about how they look and feel. In looking at the other reviews, I'm not surprised at all of the great reviews, but am shocked to read the comments by one reviewer, CB, because over the time my friends and I have been clients at Luna it's been nothing but awesome. So my points regarding the comments the other reviewer made... She complains that phone calls are not always "answered". I've had mine both answered and go to voice mail at times. No big deal, they have always called me back and scheduled me within a quick and professional timeframe. The stylists are always dedicated to their clients and do not (understandably) stop mid-color to answer the phone. I appreciate this! Luna's outgoing voicemail indicates they check messages daily, and to please leave a message and they will get back to you as soon as possible. And they do. Another unusual complaint CB makes is regarding the stylists needing to take a break for lunch, and eating in the salon. She actually calls it disgusting and sometimes smelly. First of all, this salon does not have a "break room", and the stylists are human beings, not robots. They are on their feet all day. They get hungry. I want my stylist to be comfortable and have lunch during their workday, don't you? Second, what food does not have an odor? I have seen them eat salad for their break sitting down and don't see any reason to complain if they take a lunch break, if their food has a crunch or if it (God forbid) might even have a smell to it (it's not cardboard, for goodness sakes). CB also says something about the prices on the website being low. Not true either. In fact, clients can get most, if not each of those services at a lower price than what is listed. Lastly, Every salon I've ever been in has conversation in the air, including life events, family and friends. So...? IMO it seems like this reviewer is a nitpicker and must be very, very difficult to please. As a business owner, I understand that every business ends up having a crazy, impossible-to-please client now and then. The way her complaints are worded leads me to believe this is just exactly that type of client and, more importantly, if she's so unhappy about her experiences, why does she continue going back? read more

Annya has a great eye and fantastic execution, plus she is smart, sweet and has a wicked sense of humor. Run the other way! They have no sense of customer service. I booked two appointments, in person, with an appointment card. They stood me up both times with no apology. I booked my appointment a month ahead in person and got a appointment card. Show up for my appointment and they say the day I showed up was not correct. They said it was the next day, Friday, at a different time too. I asked do they have time to do my hair in the 11/2 hours booked since I have to leave at 1:30pm for my other appointment. Receptionist assured me she can do my color in that amount of time but I would have to make another appointment for my haircut. I thought they just made a mistake so I agreed to come back the next day. I return the next day 5 minutes early as I know we are going to be tight on time. Annya was getting her own personal service done ...eyebrows plucked and kept me waiting 20 minutes. She came out to get me and I inquired if she had time now since she was late to do my hair. She said I can get you out by 2pm. I told her I made it clear yesterday that I had to leave by 1:30pm. She said she didn't have time now for my appointment. She then looked at appointment book and informed me I didn't have an appointment that day anyway it was someone else's time and that person hasn't showed up yet. Annya then told the receptionist to call the other person as she was late for her appointment. NO ONE EVER APOLOGIZED or acted sorry for the mix up and for wasting two of my afternoons in a row If you think your appointments mean you'll get service then do not go here! read more

I recently moved to Sausalito and was in search of a new place to get my hair cut... I chose Luna because of the reviews here on Yelp (thanks, people!). I walked in on a Friday at lunchtime and was able to take a canceled appointment that very afternoon. My head has just about every texture of hair you can imagine... from coarse, spiral curls, to straight and fine. I end up with severe triangle hair if layers aren't cut just so... Annya not only gave me a fantastic haircut, but styled it in a way that was appropriate for both my hair and for the weather (rain). The atmosphere in the salon was welcoming and relaxing - not a hint of the pretentiousness I have found associated with great haircuts in the past. I came in for a lash extension fill with Erica who was so sweet and easy to talk to. I had extensions on already from another salon that did a poor job and Erica took the time to remove all the glue they had used and properly separate my lashes to add new ones. Such a gem! They helped me get ready for my wedding - somehow knowing exactly what I needed even when I did not. My good friend treated me to a cut/color by Annya at Luna Salon in Sausalito for my birthday. I was a color virgin, so I was a little bit nervous going. in... The minute I laid eyes on Annya, I knew everything would be just fine. The salon was so cozy, and Annya was so personable and kind. She let me tend to my 11 month old daughter as needed, and gave me great tips on everything from childcare to hair care. What I liked the most about the experience was that she gave me insight into how to repair my hair, instead of just covering up the damage and moving on to her next client - you know how most stylists just want to turn & burn? She is literally a Hair M.D.! I have never had such a great experience with customer service, professionalism and after care. I'd give her 6 stars if I could. Shoot, I'd give her infinity stars!!! It is rare that I love my hair style immediately after a cut and wow do I love what Annya did!. Luna is a lovely little salon in Sausalito. Annya and her apprentice are professional and sweet, and made me feel welcome like long-time friends. I trusted her thoughts on my hair, my only caveats being that I never have to do anything to style my hair, that it stays very long, and that I can pull it back into a ponytail.
