I had an incredible experience at this salon today! I am in Sausalito for my wedding on Saturday and needed to fix a manicure I received from a different salon the day prior. The previous gel manicure was terribly done, rushed and visually unappealing. My mom called up this salon and they took us in immediately! I have never had a manicure done so thoroughly! They took their time and redid every imperfection. They understood the importance of having perfect nails for the big day and I'm so appreciative of that. My mom also got a manicure and a hair cut, which was beautifully done as well! Not only did I get an ingrown toenail from the manicurist cutting my big toe nails incorrectly, but I realized I also got athletes foot that I am trying to treat. I am in my 70's and have never had athletes foot before. I tried to watch how the tools were being cleaned and didn't see that the tools were actually cleaned. Skin was cut off around my big toes to the point that they bled. I guess that is how I got athletes foot. A cut on the skin for an infection to get started. I also didn't see that they cleaned the foot baths properly. I don't recommend taking a chance getting ingrown toenails and athletes foot. So far I have had to buy all kinds of products to take care of the problems and may have to go to a podiatrist if the athletes foot doesn't go away. Also still working on fixing the ingrown toenail with different products. I sure wish I could have back the large tip I left, to help pay for the products I needed to try to fix the ingrown toenail and athletes foot. I have lived in Sausalito for 23 years and this never happened before. I leave good reviews for the businesses in town that deserve them. read more

I came here a day before my wedding to get my French manicure done along with a blowout for pre wedding and the same night welcome drinks! Ming was excellent she knows what she is doing and is hella funny! Her niece did an awesome job on my nails and a week later it is still looking good! Honestly, worst manicure I've ever had, and I get manicures often. They were nice, and the place in a very convenient for me location. However from the start to finish it's worst technique I've ever experienced. Removing old gel polish -- worst part by far. They barely let it soak in the removal liquid, and proceeded to forcefully pull it off with metal pusher, sometimes even peeling, which is a huge no-no! I was so confused on how come it was so quickly and sort of assumed because it was thicker polish. And then I got out and saw PITS in my nails, super irregular, damaged, with bits of old gel still there!! Never seen anything like that!! I got home and polished my nails with my own equipment (they were using super rough file on top of the nails!!). You are not suppose to remove top layer of the nail, and they definitely peeled it off and made pits for many more layers. Honestly, it probably screwed up my nails for months, and this is actually something I really care about and pride myself on. Very very disappointed, simply dangerous technique . Cuticle care -- also very weird technique -- just flying the cutters all over skin, not really focusing on cuticle itself. My skin around nails ached for hours! Everything else -- massage, shaping, was just normal, nothing to sing songs about. Place is cluttered and not dirty but not clean either. I didn't get polish. They were recommending strengthener, but I had my own. They were nice people and I feel bad writing a bad review on a local business, but this was a dangerous experience and I must warn people, esp since not everyone is aware of how bad their methods can be. Maybe that was a one off experience, but I am definitely never coming back. read more

It wasn't as clean a salon as I'm used to in San Francisco, and it definitely has a more Mom and Pop store kind of feel to it. However the staff was nice, and for $12 the manicure is a good deal. Definitely a hidden gem in Sausalito! They get you in without an appointment, they do an excellent job and give a decent foot massage and foot scrub. Prices are great. Atmosphere is splendid. They really do a wonderful job and have a nice range of polishes to pick. Also, if you do a mani/pedi, you get to sit in the big comfy chair and have both done. No switching to the table or having to wait twice as long for two different sets of polish to dry. As a person who doesn't make it habit of carry cash, I had a panicked moment, but they do take debit/credit cards, but there is a $25 min. You can include tip as well, but it's a part of your payment, so I'm not sure how that filters down to the individual person. read more

I looked up the salons listed on yelp and decided to try Michelle. We couldn't have been more thrilled with our experience! On the outside and inside this looks like a typical nail and hair salon. But just wait until you sit down. Pedicure was $25 (typical price) the massage with hot stones, the exfoliating scrub and the attention to detail of the work was over the top great. We also were allowed to hang out in the massage chairs until our polish dried. There was no 'nail salon' odor at all. The people there are so nice and friendly! Just an overall wonderful experience that set the tone for the rest of our evening. We will definitely be back! read more

Do not go here for PEDI for sure. 1. They used the same nail file that was used on other person before me. They went and "cleaned" the metal instruments in the back, but who knows what or how... 2. My $25 (+tip) was done in less than 20 minutes: - they have me hot stone, but she literally (no exaggeration) move that stone from my knee to bottom of my feet once. A swipe with hot stone on my leg. No massage. Just hot stone swipe. - she picked at my nails so hard with a cuticle cutter.. no bleeding, but it hurt like mother because she was using the cutter to pick out dirt.. - she put salt scrub, but again.. no massage.. just quick 20 sec rub (both legs)..then rinse - she poured cuticle oil on my legs to moisturize... so had shiny legs.. from cuticle oil. =) ....at the end.. I had 1. Shiny legs from cuticle oil. 2. Hair (long hair that is not mine) on my leg. 3. My heels were just as rough when I walked in.... actually, worse This kind of service is NOT okay for $25. I pay same $25 in Santa Clara & get more than that w pretty & smooth looking feet! read more
