Hi, I live here now. I have been coming to style bar consistently over the past year or so for big bouncy, not overly stiff blowouts. I have super coily curly thick hair with lots of gray, so getting that perfectly soft smooth natural look is TOUGH. And these girls really make it happen. I regularly see Daisy, Rosie, and Emily. In addition to great products (kerastase and oribe), great music, easy parking, and close proximity to lunch spots like Gott's, sweet green, they have WIFI! So I can get a solid 45 mins of werk done during my lunch time blow outs. Oh and the girls are just lovely. So sweet. And can't forget my girl Kayla the manager!! Always making me feel welcome and not like a lunatic for juggling 1 million things. Btw, I initially deterred because of the less than stellar reviews here - don't be deterred! Amazing I loved the lady who cleaned my hair last week and blue dry it, she did it exactly has as requested. As she understood I couldn't use my arms to wash my own hair, brush my own hair, and blow dry my hair. I felt beautiful when I finished. And she was tipped accordingly. I believe her name is Hannah. My daughter went in for a blow dry and style today. She left that her hair even being fully dry and certainly not styled. Her stylist didn't say a word to her and would not allow her to show her an inspiration picture. We totally wasted $90, and this place is out there taking advantage of kids coming in to get their hair done for special occasions. Very disappointing. read more

This has been my go to place for great hair styling, for years. I have thick, coarse hair. These amazing stylists turn it into silky, gorgeous curls via a top notch blow out, ever. Single. Time! I am regularly seeing Emily, as she has perfected the approach (and she is awesome to work with, period). I had a medical procedure and can't fully shower for a several weeks. I had to find a solution to the obscenity of "dirty" hair and luckily I found The Style Bar! I've had my hair washed 3 times now and I don't have to suffer with greasy or unwashed hair! They have nice staff and use good products. The salon is clean, organized and friendly. Not worth the attitude. I came here as a bridesmaid with the bride and one other bridesmaid for hair on a Friday morning (before the wedding that evening). Both bridesmaids had blowouts, the other bridesmaid had strip lashes applied, and the bride had a half-up hairstyle done. First, we called about 15 minutes prior to our appointment to let them know we'd be a little late but we were indeed on our way. The bride had been dealing with an emergency that morning (two of her wedding party wound up in the ER!), which we briefly explained, and instead of minimizing that stress, they ADDED to it, giving us some attitude that they were booked full that day and would do what they could. We had two hours booked for everything, so all the pushback seemed completely unnecessary. And ultimately was. We arrived for our 11am appointment(s) at 11:26am and left by 12:50pm. The other bridesmaid was first told no, they didn't have time to do her lashes now, but then when we both finished with plenty of time, they knocked that out for her in about 7 minutes. Not impressed that we were treated like an inconvenience on a day when we want to feel our most beautiful. My stylist and blowout were quite fine. I have thick hair, so I didn't need volume - I asked for smooth with some movement on the ends, and that was exactly what I got. The bride was less satisfied with her style - and again, was first told that they couldn't do what she wanted, then ultimately they did it. We had to touch up her curls prior to the ceremony, and her updo started falling early in the reception. I was able to pin it back in with emergency pins, but the whole style just didn't seem very skilled. The constant flip-flop of no-we-can't followed by begrudging yes-we-actually-can was just not needed. This place may be good for a low-stakes style, but save your special occasions for elsewhere. read more

I just had my hair done by Maeghan and love it! As she washed my hair, she gave a great head and scalp massage. I love how she blew out and curled my hair as well as the high quality products she used. Maeghan also was very efficient with my time and was done exactly when she said we would be finished. They rush you through the experience, don't care at all what they are doing and the girls behind the counter are on their phones the entire time. First time I came was for my wedding with my maid of honor. I absolutely loved the way my hair turned out and had fun sipping on sparkling wine and relaxing before my wedding. My parents celebrated 50 years of marriage recently and I thought it would be fun to go with my mom and sister before heading off to the celebration. We had an amazing time, all three of us were able to be seen at the same time and we were all finished around the same time. Literally I write this crying from how awful this experience was- live from the parking lot. I booked a blowout with adding a braid- an option they offer. (I wanted one braid, literally as simple as that- nothing complicated & the rest blown out.) My service started 20 minutes late to then be told the braid makes the service an updo while sitting there with soaking wet hair. No other options vs to proceed as this alleged braid request meant they could not do my hair for another 5 hours. They proceded to blow out my hair & it currently has the limp body of my hair after 4 days without a wash. I have gotten hundreds of blowouts before and never have I looked so bad in my life. I recently had a shoulder replacement and cannot wash or blow dry my hair. Needed a wash and blow out to be "kind to myself". Melissa did a perfect job for me. The shampoo felt luxurious and the smooth styling was better than my hair stylist! My friend who drove me even noticed what a quality blow out she gave me.....and she is not easy to please when it comes to hair styling. And the ladies at the front desk were kind and friendly.....even when I said I'd be a few minutes late. I got there 5 mins afterward but all was well. I will go again! This place is terrible. If you don't LOOK like you have money they treat you horribly. All of the girls in there are incredibly rude and need a reality check. If you can go to the Petaluma location I'd suggest that 1000 times over this location. It's really ridiculous the way the act towards people at this location. read more

What a great experience! The salon is very clean and the staff are friendly and professional. My stylist was Syd. I did not have to wait for my appointment. She was very nice and chatted about a variety of stuff. She gave me a head and neck massage after the shampoo which was very relaxing. My appointment lasted about 45 minutes. I walked out of the salon ready for my special event. My hair had volume and bounce and was so soft. I recommend this salon to anyone who wants a little pamper in their day. Honestly everyone here from greeters to stylists are just plain rude. So much attitude just checking in (on time) for my appointment. I've been here on a few occasions and get the same feeling every time. They barely even utter more than a few words during the whole 45 minute treatment.
