I had my hair and makeup done for a big event by Keira at the Drawing Room. Both her makeup skills and hair styling were the best I've ever experienced. The makeup plus the curls and braids in my hair looked amazing and both lasted for 11 hours, even with lots of dancing at the event. I normally get nervous having my makeup done, worrying that it won't look natural, but Keira was able to highlight all my best features and balance out my freckles, wrinkles and blemishes to where I looked years younger and had a natural, vibrant glow. They did a great job with my hair color. It looked 5 star and my hair felt healthy afterward. While I won't be able to do back due to the cost, I thought they did a really good job. Everyone there was very friendly and professional. They know hair and you'll leave looking great. Parking is very easy here too, which is really nice. read more

I had a great time with Sima today! I've got fine & wavy hair that I never know what do with, but she gave me loads of information and tips on how to better take care of it - I needed guidance and I definitely feel like I got it when I asked her for advice. The cut itself was just what I wanted and she checked in with me often to make sure it was going as I expected. The salon itself is cozy and cute as another reviewer mentioned, and has also been previously mentioned ample parking - a HUGE plus in this area, haha. They seem to use Kevin Murphy and Davines products which are really nice and smell great. The price for services is also very reasonable for Marin and the quality level is high. I'll definitely be coming back and I highly recommend booking yourself an appointment with Sima! read more

Sam works wonders!! I have fine, thin hair that is prone to breakage and frizzing. At first I was skeptical as Sam doesn't seem like your typical stylist but at that first appointment, I was completely surprised. Now 5+ years later with monthly cuts, I'm still impressed. He really takes the time to tell me what my hair is capable of and doesn't try to give me a look that I point out in a mag that would never work. Unfortunately, I don't have thick, luscious hair but for the first time ever I get compliments! I used to spend upwards of $300 with not nearly the results. Not only has he transformed my hair but is truly accommodating and fun to hang with. Drawing Room itself is a cute, relaxing salon and I love all the extras they have. read more

Janee' has been my hairdresser for many years and she is hands-down the best stylist and colorist EVER! I am so happy she and Sam have their gorgeous new salon in Larkspur. It is super comfortable and clean, very professional, and there is tons of parking. They carry Davines and Kevin Murphy products and, while I have never been product girl, KM Restore is amazing for keeping my color-treated hair super silky and soft. You won't meet two more talented or nicer hair stylists than Janelle and Sam. Both my daughter and I have been regular customers for years. Janelle gives me the best advice about highlights and my haircuts turn out perfect. My teenage daughter gets her haircut by Sam (a favorite among the young adult set). Sima is my go to gal for cuts, color and blowdrys. She is a lovely human being, and the most conscientious and meticulous hairdresser I have ever met. I just talked my 20 year old daughter out of her other appointment and sent her to Sima for a cut and some light highlights and she was absolutely thrilled - how often do you hear that age say "MOM! you were RIGHT!" After years of searching for the right hairdresser, colorist, cutter and salon with good vibes, I FINALLY found the Drawing Room in Marin. I get so many compliments on my hair since i started coming here for the past 1 1/2 years. I have seen both Janee and Sam for cut, color, blow outs or whatever and so they are basically my one-stop shopping for all-things-hair. Now 3 of my best friends (and spouses!) go there--even though they are very picky, as does my 27 year old son --he has clicked with Sam and now his hair looks great all the time, My husband is next! 2 other friends are switching over from their hairdressers. They have the right touch to work with you until you have found what looks best on your face and skin tone. True professionals with the highest quality products I have found yet and their hair cuts are great. (I used to drive in to Union Square and Maiden Lane for my hair--now I just drop over to this little jewel of a salon!) If there were MORE than 5-stars i would give it! read more
