This review is long overdue!…read more I've taken classes at both the Montrose and Glendale locations, and I truly can't say enough great things about these studios. After trying several other Pilates studios that felt impersonal, Motivate was such a breath of fresh air. Every single instructor is fantastic, but a few deserve a special mention. Odet is incredibly knowledgeable. This girl knows fitness! She knows exactly how to challenge and motivate her clients. Christine's positive energy, smile and genuine kindness make every class such a joy. Alin is also another amazing and motivating instructor. And Courtney somehow delivers an amazing workout while keeping everyone laughing, it's like getting a comedy show with your Pilates class! I can go on and on about each and every single instructor. Both studios are true gems for the Montrose and Glendale communities. The instructors, the atmosphere, and the workouts are second to none. I genuinely look forward to every class. Five stars simply aren't enough!

As a Chiropractor, I work with a lot of patients who also train at XTP, and the difference in their strength, body awareness, and overall movement quality is undeniable. They come in more connected to their bodies, with better control and stability, which makes a huge difference in both their recovery and performance. Janine is incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to the musculoskeletal system, and that really shows in how she coaches and programs. What I appreciate most is how easy it is to communicate with her. I can confidently talk through cases, movement patterns, or specific concerns, and she just gets it. That level of understanding and collaboration is rare and so valuable for patient outcomes. If you're looking for a place that not only pushes you but also truly understands how the body should move, X-treme Pilates is it. Couldn't recommend it more.

I used to only do cardio and never enjoyed going to the gym, especially without guidance, but this has been the perfect alternative. With consistent classes, I've noticed a huge improvement in my strength, built muscle, and feel much more toned overall. I've taken classes with several different instructors, and they're all really great, but I have to give a special shoutout to Helene. She gives clear, helpful instruction and thoughtful adjustments, and she really knows how to challenge you and push you to improve. Her classes are never boring. She mixes things up with different moves and keeps it fresh every time. On top of that, she makes class genuinely fun and always gets us laughing, which is a nice distraction from the burn! I'm moving out of the area soon and am so sad I won't be able to keep coming here. I am hoping the studios in my new area are even half as good. She's also very attentive and makes sure that I am using the correct form. It helped out a lot with the condition I am suffering from. (backache, shoulder pain, the usual that comes with having bad posture). Currently, I am currently taking private and group classes at Crescendo Pilates. The workout atmosphere is positive and encouraging. I highly recommend Crescendo Pilates to anyone looking for skilled and supportive Pilates instructors.

Top tier in my book. The neighborhood is super cute, parking is easy, and the facility is clean. So what's not to like? I'm just not a fan of the Montrose studio over their other locations. The room gets so hot and we're not even in the dead of summer yet. I'm not sure if A/C is limited or what's going on with the ventilation. Also, the layout of the space is narrow but long. Machines are spread out with enough space in between each other, but they're basically stacked vertically (one behind another for a few rows). It does seem to be the most space-conscious arrangement for what they are working with, but it's hard to follow if you're all the way in the back and the instructor is demo'ing a new move or if the instructor is newer or not superbly clear throughout class. If this studio location is close to you, do NOT skip on Motivate! Bring grip socks (if you don't want to buy them there) and be on time. If you're early, check out the boutiques and mom-in-pops along Honolulu Avenue. Choose a machine in or near the front unless you're a regular.

Working with Zonnie has built up my core and strength overall. I'm more toned and have lost weight. But what I really need to recommend is working with Zonnie herself. I wanted someplace that really knew traditional Pilates but also added in some contemporary, had really skilled trainers, and could train advanced practitioners. Jen is a true master, she's had the studio for over 20 years and really knows her stuff. I think I know what I'm doing, then she gives that tiny tweak and I realize I know nothing!! Penny and Sofia are also favorites of mine and SUPER GOOD too. They're former dancers, as am I, so really know how dancers move - and sometimes over extend - to keep me in check.
