The complete lack of flexibility, understanding, and basic customer service was incredibly frustrating. From 2002-2018, I had the privilege of working at Perfectly Fit with Melissa Quezada, the dedicated and professional studio owner. What a pleasure it was to show up to work every day, teach alongside talented staff, instruct wonderful and loving clients, and give back some Pilates knowledge that had been shared with me over many years. After trying several other Pilates studios that felt impersonal, Motivate was such a breath of fresh air. Every single instructor is fantastic, but a few deserve a special mention. Odet is incredibly knowledgeable. This girl knows fitness! She knows exactly how to challenge and motivate her clients. Christine's positive energy, smile and genuine kindness make every class such a joy. Alin is also another amazing and motivating instructor. And Courtney somehow delivers an amazing workout while keeping everyone laughing, it's like getting a comedy show with your Pilates class! I can go on and on about each and every single instructor. In addition to finding the instruction to be poor, and the overall environment judgmental and uncomfortable, my friend and I were marked as "missing" the class and charged a no-show fee after I left an honest negative review about my experience. Our reviews were also deleted from the ClassPass booking page. I would question the validity of the good reviews for this studio considering that they are actively retaliating against people that speak honestly about their experience here. Customers should be able to leave genuine feedback about an uncomfortable or disappointing class without worrying about consequences afterward. I am sharing this so other customers are aware of my experience and can make an informed decision about booking here.

Jaime teacher's classes are sometimes challenging, but she takes the time to adjust each exercise to my level of ability, making sure that I get the most out of each session. She's also very attentive and makes sure that I am using the correct form. It helped out a lot with the condition I am suffering from. (backache, shoulder pain, the usual that comes with having bad posture). Currently, I am currently taking private and group classes at Crescendo Pilates. The music style is very consistent between coaches and the bikes are in excellent condition with great lighting at every class. I had been with a studio in just 3 minutes from my home that I really enjoyed for almost 2 years but for some reason in the last 6 months they started holding most classes in a completely dark room for 70%-80% of each class. I told them I wouldn't run a treadmill in the dark or lift weights in the dark so why would I ride in the dark! It became so bizarre that one day I walked out early on a class cancelled my membership and came back to Rev!

My issue with [solidcore] Pasadena isn't necessarily the five-minute late policy itself, but the lack of transparency around it and, more importantly, how my concern was handled. If you're booking through ClassPass, there should be a clear disclaimer that you will not be allowed into class if you're more than five minutes late. That's pretty important information for someone to know before spending their credits and making the trip. When I brought this up to the manager after I arrived at minute 6, her response was, "We can't control what ClassPass explicitly states, but if you would have booked with us on our website..." I'm sorry, but what kind of response is that? If you're going to partner with ClassPass and accept reservations through their platform, then you should also take some ownership of the experience those customers have. You can't benefit from a third-party booking platform and then turn around and make it the customer's responsibility to know what's listed on an entirely different website. What bothered me most was that. Instead of acknowledging that, the response felt dismissive and honestly a little condescending. And to be clear, I'm not suggesting that policies shouldn't be enforced. I'm suggesting that customers should actually know what those policies are before they're penalized for them. For a studio that charges premium prices, I would expect better communication and certainly better customer service from management. It's really not that complicated. If five minutes is the difference between being allowed into a class or losing out on a class you booked, make that explicitly clear wherever you accept reservations. The policy didn't leave the worst impression. The way management handled a very reasonable concern did.
