This review is so long overdue. I've been taking classes with Zonnie for over a year now, and I cannot recommend her enough. I started Pilates with Zonnie after a back injury flared up. Working with Zonnie has built up my core and strength overall. I'm more toned and have lost weight. But what I really need to recommend is working with Zonnie herself. She adapts each lesson to how my mind and my body are feeling that day. She has helped me focus or be Zen when I come in frazzled or will accommodate on days when I'm just plain tired. Zonnie's Pilates knowledge is expert, and she is warm, funny and fun to work with. She's the best! read more

This is my second attempt to post this review-- guessing Yelp thought noone could be as good as I said Zonnie is-- but she is-- We have been working together for 6ish months now-- She is able to work with you in whatever way you will see the best results. I believe she is trained in almost every discipline that could touch pilates in any way. I am stronger- more flexible- less back pain-- more energy and it is always interesting as well as achieving great results. Can't recommend her highly enough. read more

It is astonishing at how much improvement I have had and how quick it was. I had some old and newer injuries that affected balance, movement, walking, knee pain, lower back, hip, etc. It wasn't just that Zonnie knew the exercises that were correct, she knew exactly how to do them, what exact position, and what muscles to activate. She is keenly present from moment to moment observing, correcting, and controlling, and is a very competent, pleasant, and calming presence. Then there is a different way of breathing, standing, balancing, and operating one's body in day-to-day life, the training along with the exercises to activate the appropriate muscles. The improvement in my balance is huge, I was frequently tripping or bumping into things - no more. I love to stand up paddleboard, now my balance has improved so that I can paddle on rougher ocean water. I like hiking again - it had become tiring due to injuries. There are side benefits associated with the core exercises and breathing technique that has improved certain common difficulties associated with males of a certain age. Better sleep etc. My knee, lower back and hip pain seem to be in the past as well. It's a lot more fun to do the day-to-day stuff. read more

Zonnie is an incredible teacher and trainer. Her attentiveness and knowledge far exceed any Pilates instructor I have worked with. I had pain in my lower back on a daily basis that subsided after a short while with Zonnie. She tailors the workout to your specific needs and provides corrections that often seem small but targets the correct muscle. The vibe of the studio is great - clean, organized, and well-spaced out. And parking is easy and free! read more

I have been going to Zonnie Bauer Pilates for about 5 or 6 years and I can't say enough wonderful things about Zonnie!! When I started my knees were barely operational (after surgeries) and my core strength was nonexistent, not to mention that my posture was horrible due to bad knees. Now I'm doing intermediate and advanced Pilates moves! (I started at 100% beginner.) Zonnie personalizes each session based on the client since everyone's needs are different. Her attention to detail is really what stands her apart from other studios where there is not much posture correction. In addition to being so knowledgeable, Zonnie is one of the most supportive people I know!! I highly recommend her if you're a beginner or want to import r your already established Pilates techniques! read more

I needed to find a Pilates instructor who would be able to help me with torn tendons in my rotator cuff. I found the perfect instructor. Olga is an excellent Pilates instructor. I love going to Olga because she is encouraging, patient, fun but mostly I always receive 55 minutes of an intense workout. She knows what she is doing and she has a million different movements she has me do. I feel so healthy and encouraged that she is helping me with my journey of healing of my shoulder. Also,my whole body feels stronger. She is truly the best!! read more

Zonnie really is amazing! I've been going to Zonnie for over a year now and not only has she helped me recover from multiple injuries but she is now helping me correct my posture and tone my body. Every session with Zonnie is completely customized to fit my long term goals as well as my immediate needs. Somedays I want to focus on mobility, other days I want to focus on strength and she knows just what exercises to guide me through so I leave the studio feeling amazing and one step closer to my fitness goals. Thank you Zonnie! read more

My fiancé brought me to do Pilates with Zonnie. I was skeptical because I thought Pilates was for women, but I had a great time and Zonnie is amazing! She really knows how the body works and I really liked the individual attention I got from the 2:1 session. I highly recommend. Turns out Pilates was originally developed by someone who was also a body builder so that made me feel better about doing it, haha! You can't go wrong with Zonnie, you'll only want to do more. read more

Today was my 20th session with Olga. My posture has improved, I feel stronger and I have discovered muscles I never knew I had. She helped me develop a strong upper body. Highly recommend! read more

Zonnie is amazing! She's helped me so much with my core and just overall issues that I'd been having with my back and shoulders. She really cares about her clients and I love how she's really engaged during our sessions. She's incredibly knowledgeable and knows exactly what to do when I complain about pain in my back, shoulders, hip, etc. What I do with Zonnie has even helped with my weightlifting and running. 10/10 recommend her! read more

Zonnie changed my life! I no longer have constant back pain because of Zonnie. I do many different types of workouts but Pilates with Zonnie is my favorite workout. Zonnie has helped me correct my posture and had taught me how to be more aware of my body. I love that Zonnie accommodates your body's needs. Zonnie's keen attention to detail is impressive. Every time I leave a session I feel restored. I wish I had gone to Zonnie sooner. read more

Zonnie has been training me in Mat Pilates for about three years now. I am a past dancer and sustained many injuries to my knees and lower back over the years. The result was an inability to dance or move the way I wanted to. I thought that these were just the sort of things I would have to deal with and that they might worsen over time. Zonnie has completely reverted this trend for me. She helped me correct my support in my core, taking all the pressure off my back and knees and allowing me to actually strengthen muscles I feel like I hadn't used in years. She is an incredible teacher and really gives you understanding of what is happening with and in your body so that you can apply the exercises correctly. And she's fun and caring and a total professional. read more

Zonnie is an excellent Pilates trainer, very focused on tailoring sessions to the individual's needs. She is also simply a pleasure to work with. I have been a client since July 2019 & now with the COVID-19 restrictions we are doing virtual sessions using Zoom, with no reduction in quality! I truly look forward to each session and am determined to stick with it, despite crazy schedules - because it makes me feel so much stronger and better. I highly recommend you contact Zonnie if you're curious about Pilates or looking for virtual sessions. read more

I completely LOVE working out with Zonnie Bauer and the online classes work GREAT for me! Last year I had major abdominal surgery and hear I am six months later and definitely need to rebuild my core. As I need someone that really understands pilates, I went to Zonnie--the PERFECT person to help me with this. Unfortunately, we had to do it online. I wasn't quite sure what to expect but let me tell you it has been AMAZING! Her care and TOTAL attention and understanding has allowed me to work out without further injuring myself. And each session I notice a dramatic improvement in my strength and flexibility. But the best part is that it's all from my home! Zonnie comes to me on Skype and still catches every subtlety of my position. It's completely brilliant and I am so grateful to be able to do this with the Core Master, Zonnie Bauer! Thank you, Zonnie! read more

Five Stars I love my private sessions. Zonnie is so caring and fun with a high attention to detail, super knowledgeable and does great correction. I experienced fast results!!!! Highly recommended!!! read more

Zonnie is so gifted in analyzing the body. Both my husband and I went to her for constant aches in our hips and lower back. She was able to immediately point out areas to focus on and worked with us over the next 10 sessions. This was my first time doing PIlates therapy. Prior to this I saw a PT and Chiropractor. Both of these only worked on parts of the body while Zonnie had a whole body approach. I would highly recommend visiting Zonnie and at minimum doing her 3 sessions for body evaluation. read more

Zonnie is amazing! She is very accommodating to your schedule and is extremely patient. I took my mom who has a languange barrier and had no problem with her. She makes sure that you build a good foundation and starts the first session with a detailed analysis of your posture. She then designs the workout for each person so that you can fix your posture and strengthen your core at the same time. She is extremely knowledgeable and would highly recommend her!!! read more

She really takes a personal approach and is so validating. I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone no matter what level you are. Pilates is my favorite form of exercise. Zonnie is so knowledgeable about the body and how to transform it from the inside out. read more

I've actually known Zonnie off and on since around 1989/1990. She is a great trainer, very patient, takes care to make sure that you are getting what you need out of the work-out. She definitely deals with "the person in front of her" in terms of understanding what they can and can't do, and what they are trying to accomplish. I like this because "other places" I have felt like I am one person among a giant crowd and while that's fine, you are pretty much mostly "on your own". Zonnie never makes me feel like that. I would recommend her for Pilates instruction without hesitation. read more

My wife had been Zonnie's client for over 3 years, and I finally joined her in November 2018. I love Zonnie's approach and efficacy. I feel much better physically, have better range of motion, less soreness and feel stronger. I see improvement every week! read more

Zonnie is the best! After doing some group Pilates classes at another studio and realizing that I had no idea what I was doing, I started private sessions with Zonnie. She is a great teacher with a very impressive knowledge of body mechanics. She has helped me rehab my abdominal area after having my son. I leave each session feeling energized and better than when I started. Thank you, Zonnie! read more

I think Zonnie is just terrific! She has such a command of the body and how it works. A physical therapist friend of mine says that 'there is Pilates and then there is exercise,' and I completely agree with him. Zonnie gives such a good, tailor-made workout! If you haven't tried Pilates, check it out. I think it's the only exercise that is multi-tasking, meaning you always work more than one part of your body at the same time so you really get a great bang for your buck! read more

I waited until i finish 10th session in order to write a fair and honest review and so far Zonnie is a amazing pilates teacher! she is very knowledgeable about how the body works. She will figure out where your weakness is and can tailor the pilates program based on your own needs. During the sessions, Zonnie consistently checked my postures and corrected every single movement.  I've been to another pilate studio before trying Zonnie, but they didnt pay attention to minor details like zonnie does. She helped me strenghthen my core muscle and helped to relieve my upper (neck/ shoulder) back pain. I highly recommend Zonnie to those who want to improve strength, flexibility, balance, posture and of course your body shape! read more

Simply Zonnie is the BEST! I had done Pilates for more than 4 years in several Pilates studios. However, no one had ever explained and checked every single minor movement. She is detail oriented and explains everything. she evaluates everything and designs a workout which will help you achieve the optimal results. Thank you Zonnie. read more

Zonnie Seriously changed my life. I took some 1 on 1 classes and by the end of it her classes had corrected by posture, made me stronger, feel younger and helped me get my next belt test in taekwondo. Which requires tumbling. I would have never been able to do this before. I am also a filmmaker, we have to stand on our feet and direct for anywhere to 10-15 hours. She has helped me strengthen my core so I can do this comfortabley. I also had a c section, which cut accross my stomach muscles that were numb. She helped wake them back up and activted the stomach muscles which made me super happy! I cried with joy after that session. She is seriously a miracle worker! read more

For the past 3-4 months I have been attending Pilates classes with Zonnie and I have never felt more in shape. Her instructions and workouts are detailed and specifically designed for things that I wish to achieve/ injuries that I struggle with. I have been to a few different Pilates places around Glendale and was not satisfied until I found Zonnie. She uses her knowledge of dance to create a pilates class which is unique and also very rigorous. I have recommended her to a couple friends and family members and I know they will be just as satisfied as I am. Thanks so much for all your great work!! Felicia. read more

Thank God for Zonnie Bauer! When my neck and back went out after I was rear-ended, I went to everybody- chiropractors, cranial sacral therapists, sports medicine specialist and I never felt aligned like I had prior to the accident. As a full time dancer, and religious gym junkie i was crushed when I got injured with two herniated disks in my back. I thought it was the end of my career, because at 18 years old with that type of injury is very uncommon. Getting my disks back in was the first step but after that i knew i needed core and back rehabilitation. My mom has taken from Zonnie before and we knew it was the perfect way to get me back on my feet. She did a full evaluation of my body and little did i know that my whole body was out of line. She told me she knew exactly what to do, and 13 sessions later i'm feeling better than i've ever felt! i can do everything i did before the injury and more! i now can trust myself to use the right technique and core work in dance class and in the gym. read more

zonnie is an amazing pilates instructor. she does a full analysis of your posture, weaknesses, and imbalances to figure out what you need to work on. she doesn't just throw you onto the equipment as if everyone has the same abilities and/or issues. she KNOWS classic pilates, which i really love, but she also knows rehab pilates, which is different and wonderful. most times when i walk out of a session i feel like i've gone to mind/body therapy - breathing, stretching, and sometimes even a little massage for an hour twice/week will make you feel good and strong. her session package prices are very reasonable. i highly recommend. read more
