This review is long overdue!…read more I've taken classes at both the Montrose and Glendale locations, and I truly can't say enough great things about these studios. After trying several other Pilates studios that felt impersonal, Motivate was such a breath of fresh air. Every single instructor is fantastic, but a few deserve a special mention. Odet is incredibly knowledgeable. This girl knows fitness! She knows exactly how to challenge and motivate her clients. Christine's positive energy, smile and genuine kindness make every class such a joy. Alin is also another amazing and motivating instructor. And Courtney somehow delivers an amazing workout while keeping everyone laughing, it's like getting a comedy show with your Pilates class! I can go on and on about each and every single instructor. Both studios are true gems for the Montrose and Glendale communities. The instructors, the atmosphere, and the workouts are second to none. I genuinely look forward to every class. Five stars simply aren't enough!

In addition to finding the instruction to be poor, and the overall environment judgmental and uncomfortable, my friend and I were marked as "missing" the class and charged a no-show fee after I left an honest negative review about my experience. Our reviews were also deleted from the ClassPass booking page. I would question the validity of the good reviews for this studio considering that they are actively retaliating against people that speak honestly about their experience here. Customers should be able to leave genuine feedback about an uncomfortable or disappointing class without worrying about consequences afterward. I am sharing this so other customers are aware of my experience and can make an informed decision about booking here.

This was one of the most disappointing Pilates classes I've attended…read more Before class, Lola prohibited me from filming myself, even though I had already asked permission and my camera was positioned only on me. I respect studio policies, but the way the situation was handled immediately created an uncomfortable atmosphere. Unfortunately, the class itself was equally disappointing. The pace was extremely slow, there were long pauses between exercises, and much of the session felt like resting rather than working out. At one point, a participant actually put on a sweatshirt during class because the workout was so low intensity. To make matters worse, the class ended about four minutes early despite already feeling far less active than a typical Pilates session. What bothered me most was the complete lack of engagement. Lola never corrected my form, never checked my technique, never interacted with me, and made no effort to create a welcoming environment after our initial disagreement. I spent 45 minutes feeling ignored. Not even a simple goodbye when I left. I've taken many Pilates classes, and this was the first time I walked out feeling unwelcome, underworked, and disappointed all at once.

I think they're lacking some basic things though that would stop me from making this my every day studio. One thing they're missing is a refillable water bottle station. I feel like providing water to your workout clients is kind of a must? Another thing I noticed is the reformers are too close together. There's no way you can have people doing legs circles and not touch legs. Same for exercises going across the width of the reformer: your head gets too close to your neighbors feet. I also hate that the cubbies for personal items are right by an open door in the back, so absolutely anyone could just grab your stuff. The set up is also very minimal, which on the plus side, means less clean up? But maybe limits what exercises you do. The classes I've had with Veronica have been amazing though, and I would ignore most of this stuff to keep doing classes with her!

I used to only do cardio and never enjoyed going to the gym, especially without guidance, but this has been the perfect alternative. With consistent classes, I've noticed a huge improvement in my strength, built muscle, and feel much more toned overall. I've taken classes with several different instructors, and they're all really great, but I have to give a special shoutout to Helene. She gives clear, helpful instruction and thoughtful adjustments, and she really knows how to challenge you and push you to improve. Her classes are never boring. She mixes things up with different moves and keeps it fresh every time. On top of that, she makes class genuinely fun and always gets us laughing, which is a nice distraction from the burn! I'm moving out of the area soon and am so sad I won't be able to keep coming here. I am hoping the studios in my new area are even half as good. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get stronger in a supportive and engaging environment!

You can expect to build strength as well as increase mobility and stability. My two favorite teachers are Helene and Laura. They are both really lovely and know how to kick your butt. I have a lower back injury and both teachers have given me excellent modifications. They are paying attention to your form and giving adjustments as they go, which can be rare in a group class. They make me feel so supported and are such great cheerleaders, often congratulating me on my progress, checking in on my injury, and encouraging me to keep going even when that final plank hold is kicking my butt!

Top tier in my book. The neighborhood is super cute, parking is easy, and the facility is clean. So what's not to like? I'm just not a fan of the Montrose studio over their other locations. The room gets so hot and we're not even in the dead of summer yet. I'm not sure if A/C is limited or what's going on with the ventilation. Also, the layout of the space is narrow but long. Machines are spread out with enough space in between each other, but they're basically stacked vertically (one behind another for a few rows). It does seem to be the most space-conscious arrangement for what they are working with, but it's hard to follow if you're all the way in the back and the instructor is demo'ing a new move or if the instructor is newer or not superbly clear throughout class. If this studio location is close to you, do NOT skip on Motivate! Bring grip socks (if you don't want to buy them there) and be on time. If you're early, check out the boutiques and mom-in-pops along Honolulu Avenue. Choose a machine in or near the front unless you're a regular.

Then, I have had the pleasure of working with Jaime teacher for more than a year, and I can confidently say that it changed my daily routine(posture) for the better. Jaime teacher's classes are sometimes challenging, but she takes the time to adjust each exercise to my level of ability, making sure that I get the most out of each session. She's also very attentive and makes sure that I am using the correct form. It helped out a lot with the condition I am suffering from. (backache, shoulder pain, the usual that comes with having bad posture). Currently, I am currently taking private and group classes at Crescendo Pilates. The workout atmosphere is positive and encouraging. I highly recommend Crescendo Pilates to anyone looking for skilled and supportive Pilates instructors.
