This review is long overdue!…read more I've taken classes at both the Montrose and Glendale locations, and I truly can't say enough great things about these studios. After trying several other Pilates studios that felt impersonal, Motivate was such a breath of fresh air. Every single instructor is fantastic, but a few deserve a special mention. Odet is incredibly knowledgeable. This girl knows fitness! She knows exactly how to challenge and motivate her clients. Christine's positive energy, smile and genuine kindness make every class such a joy. Alin is also another amazing and motivating instructor. And Courtney somehow delivers an amazing workout while keeping everyone laughing, it's like getting a comedy show with your Pilates class! I can go on and on about each and every single instructor. Both studios are true gems for the Montrose and Glendale communities. The instructors, the atmosphere, and the workouts are second to none. I genuinely look forward to every class. Five stars simply aren't enough!

In addition to finding the instruction to be poor, and the overall environment judgmental and uncomfortable, my friend and I were marked as "missing" the class and charged a no-show fee after I left an honest negative review about my experience. Our reviews were also deleted from the ClassPass booking page. I would question the validity of the good reviews for this studio considering that they are actively retaliating against people that speak honestly about their experience here. Customers should be able to leave genuine feedback about an uncomfortable or disappointing class without worrying about consequences afterward. I am sharing this so other customers are aware of my experience and can make an informed decision about booking here.

I first discovered this studio through ClassPass. Even though I am not always in the Glendale area,…read moreI heard that there was a Yelp Elite event here and decided to give them a try. The studio is still fairly new, and it definitely shows in the best way possible. They have the balloon arch outside and everything feels fresh, clean, and well-maintained inside. The reformers are in excellent condition, and the decor is super cute and motivating. I especially loved that there are mirrors on both sides of the reformers, which might seem like a small detail, but it makes such a difference when you're trying to check your form from different angles. I opted for a Fundamentals Flow 1 course so I expected the class to be on the easier side. My personal workout routine only allows me to do one intense class per week but I still wanted to get my body moving for and thankfully, the class was the perfect balance of challenging and accessible! The movements were definitely enough to make me feel the burn, but nothing felt intimidating or impossible. The instructor gave clear, easy-to-follow directions and walked around the room offering adjustments and assistance when needed. I really appreciated that attention to form, especially since it's so easy to fall into bad habits when you're trying to keep up with a class. I could definitely see this being a great studio for both beginners and more experienced Pilates students! You can challenge yourself while still feeling supported throughout the workout. A few other things I appreciated: - Parking: The studio is located on a busy street, but I had no trouble finding parking on a Sunday morning. Such a relief because there's nothing worse than stressing over parking right before a workout! - Studio setup: There are plenty of cubbies to store your belongings, which helps keep the space organized. - Waiting area: They even have a couch where you can relax before or after class. Such a nice little touch! Overall, I had a really positive experience! Between the welcoming atmosphere, thoughtful studio layout, and attentive instruction, it's clear that a lot of care went into creating this space. My instructor's name was Ayesha! I'd happily return for another class the next time I'm in the area!

This was one of the most disappointing Pilates classes I've attended…read more Before class, Lola prohibited me from filming myself, even though I had already asked permission and my camera was positioned only on me. I respect studio policies, but the way the situation was handled immediately created an uncomfortable atmosphere. Unfortunately, the class itself was equally disappointing. The pace was extremely slow, there were long pauses between exercises, and much of the session felt like resting rather than working out. At one point, a participant actually put on a sweatshirt during class because the workout was so low intensity. To make matters worse, the class ended about four minutes early despite already feeling far less active than a typical Pilates session. What bothered me most was the complete lack of engagement. Lola never corrected my form, never checked my technique, never interacted with me, and made no effort to create a welcoming environment after our initial disagreement. I spent 45 minutes feeling ignored. Not even a simple goodbye when I left. I've taken many Pilates classes, and this was the first time I walked out feeling unwelcome, underworked, and disappointed all at once.

Odet is my favorite and my friends and I love her classes. she is very energetic , knowledgeable about muscle groups and personal training, and fun.If you are concerned abt injuries, she'll emphasize forms and correct forms frequently to prevent injury. Top tier in my book. The neighborhood is super cute, parking is easy, and the facility is clean. So what's not to like? I'm just not a fan of the Montrose studio over their other locations. The room gets so hot and we're not even in the dead of summer yet. I'm not sure if A/C is limited or what's going on with the ventilation. Also, the layout of the space is narrow but long. Machines are spread out with enough space in between each other, but they're basically stacked vertically (one behind another for a few rows). It does seem to be the most space-conscious arrangement for what they are working with, but it's hard to follow if you're all the way in the back and the instructor is demo'ing a new move or if the instructor is newer or not superbly clear throughout class. If this studio location is close to you, do NOT skip on Motivate! Bring grip socks (if you don't want to buy them there) and be on time. If you're early, check out the boutiques and mom-in-pops along Honolulu Avenue. Choose a machine in or near the front unless you're a regular.
