I knew to ask for the vinaigrette on the side because a little goes a long way. Just $10 each for a plate which had 4 falafels, house salad, basmati rice, pita bread, tahini and grilled carrots. Dropped by with my mom for a Sunday afternoon lunch. The location was easy to find and the interior of the restaurant was not what I expected, but it was cute with a clean and modern feel. My mom ordered a salmon plate and I ordered a gyros plate.... and then we sat. Approximately 40 minutes after ordering my gyros plate arrived. We had to wait another 10 minutes for the salmon to arrive. The restaurant didn't seem too busy and it certainly wasn't filled to capacity so the wait time for what should have been a quick service was pretty awful. An employee did stop by while we were eating to apologize for the wait and offered us a discount for another visit, so the acknowledgement was nice. The gyros were very bland and they seemed to have a "soggy" texture (never thought I would describe gyros that way). Unsure about the Salmon since I didn't try any, but overall our experience was pretty middle of the road. read more

Situated in a plaza with Target and CorePower Yoga, Luna Grill is definitely a fitting location of healthy dining whether it's for or dinner. The menu is the same as other locations in this franchise, but the best part is that you can check the nutrition facts for all the items on their menu (get your macros!) I usually get the chicken kebab and greek salad ($12). The generous portion of chicken kebab is very moist and flavorful, excellently grilled. Definitely skip the pita as there's not much flavor to it, but the yogurt sauce is tasty. Overall the quality of ingredients is very consistent across all locations. Service is quick, with plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. Can't complain, but I definitely recommend them if you're looking for lots of protein! read more

I came here for lunch because I remember Luna Grill having fresh and healthy offerings. When I walked in, I asked the guy working the register where they get their desserts from and he said Cheesecake Factory. It made me think that they do not care if their products are pre packaged and it almost looked like they are using Cheesecake Factory's popular name to sell their desserts. Both my friend and I ordered wraps, one with gyros and the other with chipotle chicken. As soon as I bit into my wrap, I could tell it was not freshly made because it was luke warm, the meat was completely dried out, and the gyros tasted old. The wrap was also hard to swallow because the wrap was dry, it needed to be warmed up. I question whether they make their meats fresh to order or if they make them some time during the day and reheat them. I do not consider their gyros authentic because I doubt they are made on a gyro machine and sliced off for each order. The sweet potatoes fries also came out luke warm and so did my friends wrap. We tried using the tzatziki sauce to make the wrap less dry but I did not care for it because it contained too much dill. The tzatziki sauce is far from authentic as well. The only thing I enjoyed was the chipotle sauce that had a nice kick to it but that sauce cannot be healthy. Luna Grill should worry less about their decor and more about the quality and authenticity of the food they are putting out. read more

I ordered the greek salad with chicken kebab and gyro meat add-on. My experience with mediterranean cuisine is mostly mediocre and I've noticed that this is usually due to poor quality veggies used for the salad mix. Hence, I was sold on the fresh, crisp and proper mix of greens, tomato, olives and feta at Luna. The serving of meat was generous and delicious. Juicy, succulent and not overly spicy. The only miss during this whole experience was the whitish tzatziki sauce. Perhaps justifiably so, it lacked a garlic punch and was very warm, so I think it can be improved. Having attended quite a few locations of Luna Grill throughout southern California, I've become familiar to their menu. As per my usual, I grabbed lunch on a rainy Saturday (shocking I know) at the location in Poway, CA - which replaced the old Chicken Pie Diner near the local Target. The staple of my meals here is almost always some combination chicken and Gyros. I ordered both the Chicken and Gyros plate, and decided to try the Lemon Chicken Soup. The soup came out first, surprising me with how much larger the portion was than I anticipated. Garnished with 3 hot slices of pita bread, the soup was hot and flavorful. It's light on the lemon flavor and features just chicken and rice in the broth, but is quite tasty nonetheless. I've had more flavorful soup elsewhere, but it's in the top rungs around town when I'm hankering the flavor. The chicken on the plate is always flavorful - seasoned well before it is grilled. It's always juicy inside, easy to eat, and still retains a well balanced palate. The Gyros can however be hit and miss here. I've had it juicy and well seasoned, and I've had it dry and flavorless. Today, it was in the middle of the two - slightly dry, but still flavorful. The plate also comes with a mixed greens side salad with tomatoes, onions, and cucumber slices on top drizzled with a tangy vinaigrette dressing. A bed of white rice compliments the center of plate, with a little yellow rice thrown on top. 3 slices of pita bread and a side of tzatiki sauce also come standard. Diners have the choice of half a tomatoe grilled, or a bed of grilled carrots as well. All in all, if you want fresh and enjoyable food, served hot and out the kitchen with good speed, this is a great option. The food is flavorful, but it won't blow you away. Prices are a little high for this style of place, but you could do much worse. Service varies location by location. This particular visit didn't see me greeted as I walked in, and I stood in line while one guest was rung up, despite three people standing out the counter and only one being occupied. I've been here before, and never had that happen, so it was likely a one-off. 4 stars - great food, but underwhelming service, a little pricey overall. read more

I have eaten inside the restaurant, outside in their patio, I have ordered take-out, and had them cater for a family function. The servers, cooks, cashier, and everyone who works there are very polite, friendly, and professional. They wear clean attire/uniforms and work efficiently. Dining room, beverage area, and restrooms are always clean! The food is fresh and taste delicious. I have tried most of what is on their menu. Worker lady told me she had to give me a new cup if I wanted a refill yet one of the workers from the neighboring business Leslie Pool supply came in with his own cup and literally put the cup so freaking close to the ice/water dispenser! Then they don't wanna have an open bathroom for their customers? Like come on even the gas stations are open. Then they want to charge more for Pita bread. Talk about nickel and dimeing you. For the second time, I ordered delivery and something went wrong with the logistics. Last time, the kitchen was already closed and this time the order ended up being for pickup for some reason. I never got a confirmation email, text, phone, etc. one way or another. I get a call/voicemail after closing at 9:13PM wondering when I'm going to pick it up. When I call back at 9:20PM they're already gone and no answer. I assumed it was for delivery since that is how I started the order. My card was already charged. Please refund the order. I came in here today to meet Hubby for lunch, it's a nice little restaurant within the Target area strip mall.. At first I was going to give 3 stars because Hubby's gyro wrap had really tough and dry meat that it wasn't quite tasteful and edible, but after he told the waitress the issue they didn't hesitate to make a new one for him and it was wayyy better, with nicely cooked gyro meat, so now I upgraded their Yelp star rating to 5 stars Good place to eat if you are craving Mediterranean cuisine. read more

Tonight we ordered Flat Cut Chicken plates, we are doing so asked for no rice. When we asked for hummus I was told on the phone we could get that. When I picked up my order it was ALL salad. When I enquired at the register I was told 'you can't have salad and hummus' .... No offer of any substitution for rice and not an apology. so I left with a VERY expensive chicken salad and when I got home there was no Tzatziki in either order.
