The lunpias here are the best lumpias! They're so good and flavorful. My favorite of all time. We tried the chili mansi fried chicken plate. I really enjoyed this. The fry on the chicken was perfect and the flavor was complex and delicious. I enjoyed the side of pickled cucumbers that went well with the rest of the dish. We also got the cali pino burrito with chicken tocino. This burrito was jam packed with a lot. Too much rice in my opinion. I think it would have been better with a salsa or some type of sauce. It was too one note for me but my husband thought it was good. Spot is kind of deep in poway. There is a parking lot and we had no issues finding a spot on a Saturday. I would say they need to fix their fountain soda machine. Thankful the cashier told us to check what was available before we ordered. They were out of most things but didn't have any diet soda so we opted for a can soda instead.
Great welcoming service the minute I walked in. W ordered take out. The place is kind of small but they did their best to accommodate their guests even seeing them seat a party of 12. The owner helped us understand their catering menu and explained it is made per order based on the request so she couldn't specify the pricing. Ordered the pork adobo which had 4 large pieces of pork belly, great sauce and yummy Mac. Wish there were more protein to the rice ratio, but it was good overall. Rice Krispie was okay, tasted homemade. Lumpia was delicious but expensive. Definitely would come back to try more of everything else.
I am from San Jose and I am always looking around on Yelp or tik tok for Filipino breakfast spots as they are my FAVORITE. I am so glad I found Luna's Lunpias. When we walked in, the staff were so friendly and went over the specials and also let us know what they didn't have for that morning. (Thankfully everything I was planning to order they had all of it)! Drinks: Calamasi Refresher The nice staff member recommended this drink and it was the perfect pairing with our breakfast. I usually stick with drinking water but this was a really good pick! 5/5 Appetizers: Pork lumpia: 5/5, of course we had to get this! Combo plates: Longsilog bowls ~ which came with garlic rice, fried egg, scoop of Mac and cheese. It was super filling and I thought it was never ending witu the amount of longsilog they gave. This dish paired well with their spice vinegar. There were literally no crumbs left. I always love supporting family owned restaurants. Filipino food is my top favorite foods. I can't wait to come back in August!
Apparently Luna's Lunpias was voted for Best Filipino Food in San Diego and we had to stop by and try it. We arrived pretty early for dinner so we were the only ones inside. The lot is pretty big with tons of parking spots but I'm not sure how filled up it gets during peak hours. We were greeted by the cashier as we walked in. She passed out the menus and explained the specials and items that weren't in stock at the moment. She also gave some great recommendations and highlighted several of the top hits. Beef/Pork Lunpias: We ordered the 8 piece and got to do half pork and half beef! The lunpias are very crispy but the pork stood out the most. It's way more flavorful and I think something about the oils in the pork make the wrapper look different when fried. These pork lunpias are the best I've had in San Diego! Breakfast Musubi: Spam musubi with egg and a hashbrown in the middle. The hashbrown was super crispy but overall, the musubi tasted pretty average. It also fell apart really easily so we ended up using a fork to finish it. The cashier even recommended the Panko Spam over the Breakfast but we mainly wanted to try it for the hashbrown. Won't be making that mistake next time! Sisig Bowl: Chunks of crispy pork belly mixed with a mango serrano salsa. I also upgraded to garlic fried rice and added an over easy egg. Not the best sisig I've had in San Diego but it was still pretty good. The pork belly could be crispier but I liked the sauce. I'll have to come back and try their other traditional dishes because they look so good! It's a shame that they're located so far inland or else I would be coming more often.
We're not in the Poway area often, but decided to stop by Luna's Lunpias one day while heading north. They are located in a large plaza with plenty of parking. LUMPIAS: Tried both the pork and beef lumpias and while both were good, we all liked the pork ones more since they just had more of a kick to them. Perfectly fried and crispy! BREAKFAST MUSUBI: We wanted to try this and see how well the hashbrown went with the musubi. It was decent but don't think it's something I would get again. It was a bit hard to eat as the whole thing fell apart quickly so we ended up picking at it like a salad. SISIG COMBO PLATE: I was able to get half half garlic fried rice and pancit for my carbs. Nice, crispy pork belly cut into the perfect bite sized pieces. Loved the mango serrano salsa! UBE CHEESECAKE: I wanted the minis but they were out at the time, so I ended up getting the full sized one. It's still not too big so perfect for 1-2 people. Good flavor and not overly sweet! Overall, great Filipino food although pricey for what it is; I got a bit of sticker shock when my total showed up. It's also a bit out of the way, but I'd definitely return to try other menu items if I'm ever passing though the area again. Definitely just a once in a while visit for me anyways because of the cost.
I ordered the tapsilog and chicken combo plate. It was so flavorful. The rice and ulam complimented each other so well. It came with mac salad and pickled cucumber. The cucumber was very complimenting of the main course or good by itself. I also ordered the Thai tea taho and didn't take a picture of it because I slurped that up so fast. My two favorite things in one! The coconut whipped cream was delicious! The ube tres leches was pretty good too. Luna is super sweet, high energy and makes you feel welcomed. The place is small, but clean and welcoming. There's plenty of parking, but it does share the lot with a couple other businesses.

Friendly people! I'd never experienced Filipino food before and I'm a spicy wuss. We had the pork lumpias, the Sesame Huli Huli Chicken, and the Sisig Bowl. Everything was wonderful, complex flavors, not too salty or sweet. The Mac salad was cooling and there was a Persian cucumber tomato salad side was tart and palate cleansing. Good sized portions too! We will definitely be back.
Enjoyed the food and service so much, I went twice in one month! It's a medium sized shop and I've always had the warmest welcome. Their food is Filipino fusion, and I was grateful at how well they described the different foods they had to offer and recommend based off the preferences of the customer. I've had a decent variety from the menu and I have zero complaints - the flavor is amazing no matter what I've tried. The remainder of this review is what I thought of individual items, so bottom line is if you're looking good for innovative and yummy food, I would definitely consider this a must try, hidden gem. Pork lumpia - 4/5, simple and the usual Filipino pork lumpia and still delicious! Panko Span Musubi - 10/5, I don't usually like musubis because I don't really eat seaweed, BUT the sauce and panko crust is to die for!! Cali- pino fries - 4/5, I prefer the smaller fries one usually gets with carne asada fries, but there's a lot of flavors going on and I appreciate the different protein options! Garlic smashed potato loco moco - 7/5, an AMAZING comfort food. I think they sell out of this dish pretty frequently. Not too many flavors going on but definitely still delicious. With the cooler months coming in would prioritize trying this one out Huli huli chicken & sisig tacos - 5/5 & 4/5 respectively, both are good. I personally prefer the former just because I really enjoy huli huli chicken, but you can't go wrong with either! Tapsilog - 4/5, I didn't order this but I tried a little bold of every part of it. The egg was perfectly cooked, the garlic fried rice had great flavor but I don't usually have tapa beef so I don't think I have much of an opinion Turontella - 5/5, a fun twist on the turon desert with some Nutella! Churron - 4.5/5, might be because I overhyped the idea in my head because i love love love churros but I would say the other is slightly better Buko bites - 3.5/5, they were good, but I think I would have liked a little more flavor sheet having a meal with so many flavors Bibingka cornbread muffin - 7/5, a comfort dessert with a good balance of sweetness, moisture and flavor. I wish it was bigger! Ube Vietnamese coffee & calamansi refresher - both 8/10, but for very different vibes. The coffee is creamier and the refresher is lighter & sweet! Hope this helps you decide what to get! I really don't think you can go wrong here.
my friend discovered this place through tiktok and it's truly a hidden gem! quiet and ample seating inside. they have a good variety of items to choose from and i ended up getting the chilaquiles 100/10 perfectly crispy and sauced + the meat was so tender and not overly salty i would definitely return again and try something from their dessert menu :D thank you to the lovely ladies at the front for being so personable as well
My absolute favorite place for Filipino food. The food is soo good well seasoned and prepared! Customer service is great I love getting to see a family owned restaurant with good customer service and even better food. There's easy parking in front of the restaurant and cool art inside. It is a bit pricey compared to other places which is the only reason I don't order from here more often. But very good food! Totally recommend
I really wanted to like this place and I hate giving bad reviews for small businesses. but I believe this is the last time I'm ever coming here. Let's first start off with the good: -The lumpia was on point. The flavors were great and they were nice and crisp. I got the veggie and pork both were really good. -The sisig bowl with garlic rice and over easy egg. Although it was a little on the cold side, everything tasted good. The texture was crisp, some of it was a little to hard to chew as the meat part was really dry and it seems to have been sitting a little big. -The bibingka muffin was my favorite thing out of the entire order. -The customer service was good Now onto the bad: -They were out of the 2 things I wanted to really try the loco moco smash and the lechon kawali -The ube cheese cake was just not good, it was runny and I don't know how to explain it. I just didn't like it. Plus it was tiny for the price. -The pancit was just way to garlicky. It was like adding noodles to a dish of garlic and it had a huge wedge of cabbage at the bottom. It was 50% cabbage 50% noodles -The prices were outrageous. Let me give you an example, a small square of rice krispy treat for 4.95. On top of that it wasn't fresh and the texture was like it had way too much butter to the ingredients. All together with a nominal tip was $122 for 2 combo plates, 1 bowl, 2 pc veggie lumpia, 8pc Shanghai lumpia, bibingka muffin, ube cheesecake and Rice Krispie. The restaurant itself was dark and small. Probably more better as a pick up and go but not big enough for big parties. Everything was really pricey, not worth it for the food you get and the quality unfortunately.
Stopped by while waiting to get my oil changed on my car. It's quicker to walk here than to other food establishments and the food is really good! It was my first visit so I was overwhelmed by all the delicious sounding food choices but the friendly man at the register and his wife sitting nearby helped me navigate to the selection I was craving. I started with a calamansi refresher which was much needed on this hot day. The sweet chili calamansi chicken wings were so delicious. They had just the right amount of crunch but did get a little messy. It was worth the mess. ;) Then I had the Turontella which is basically ripe plantain wrapped in spring roll paper then fried and topped with Nutella. What a treat! Everything was delicious and so beautifully presented. Loved the family photos on the wall near the kitchen. It was such a nice touch that made it feel homey. I know Luna's Lunpias is tucked away in Poway but make the trip and you won't be disappointed. (Plus you can hike the neighboring trails like Iron Mountain and Potato Chip and make a fun day out of it.) :)

We were first greeted with super friendly staff who explained their most popular items on their vast menu and we ended up ordering a Huli Huli Chicken Plate, Lunpia Nachos (deconstructed lumpia in nacho form), Mango Coconut Sago, and a calamansi refresher. I noticed lots of regulars in so the community there is strong - we got a calamansi refresher ($6.95) which was delicious! I love the flavor of calamansi and this was strong which i appreciate (1) sisig bowl ($14.95, +$1.50 for garlic rice) - super crunchy sisig tossed in an extra spicy sauce which we requested for - the mac salad was yummy! - it's a packed bowl but we would like some more meat to pair with all that rice (2) cali-pino burrito (choice of pork or chicken) ($15) - rice, tater tots, cucumber, onions, and chicken wrapped neatly into a huge burrito! - the flavor was solid but again I would like more chicken which is where the main flavor profile was coming from, there was a little much rice! - they had so much variety on their menu and desserts such as taho that I would love to come back and try read more
Tried out this small Filipino family owned restaurant in Poway! They have a huge menu to choose from. The staff were very attentive and often checked in on us to make sure we had what we needed! Our favorite dish was the garlic smashed potato loco moco. They did not have mashed potatoes when we went, so we had it with garlic fried rice as the base instead. The dish had a very strong garlic flavor and was delicious! It was probably one of the best loco moco dishes I've ever tried. The dish came with macaroni salad and a cucumber tomato salad. The pork cali-pino fries are like the Filipino version of carne asada fries. The fries had a good amount of sauce and toppings and the pork had good flavor. This is a family-run establishment with friendly staff. I have visited the restaurant many times to try its various offerings, but our favorite is still its namesake, the lumpias. We even ordered a lumpia cake from them before with pancit noodles in the middle surrounded by upright lumpias and boiled eggs on the top (very unique for a celebration but pricey)! Recently, I ordered a Pork Tosilog. It is pieces of seasoned pork with sunny side egg over garlic rice and scoop of mac salad. It was satisfying. Restaurant is casual dining with few tables inside. POWAY EATS (3.25 stars) - FOOD: ok - PRICE: meh - SERVICE: ok - AMBIANCE: cute little eatery Not often is there a need to go to Poway but had to come and support the Filipino businesses in the area - family owned small business. It's more east and in the quiet part of Poway and in a plaza. Ample parking and the restaurant wasn't that busy during lunch hour. PORK LUNPIA (4pc/$6.75) - aka lumpia. I picked vinegar as my dipping sauce for the lumpia. the lumpia's are small - Shanghai style. Overall taste was just ok. They came out crispy but the filling inside fell flat in seasoning - the meat was blander than typical lumpia. CHICKEN TOCINO SILOG BOWL ($12.95) - I had it served with over medium egg. Perhaps I should have went for the pork tocino or tapa because chicken tocino wasn't the one for me. It was mediocre - didn't have that full savory taste of Tocino. Couple things I felt was missing from a typical silog bowl: slice of tomato and some vinegar dipping sauce. I used my vinegar dipping sauce from my lumpia and it help step up the chicken tocino. I wasn't expecting this but there was also a small serving of mac salad sprinkled with furtikake - I'm not much of a furikake fan and wish I knew this would be added in I would have excluded it out and have the mac salad plain as is. Luna is amazing! She is incredibly hospitable and accommodating, AND cooks delicious food. We were in San Diego for a bachelorette party and wanted to have a Kamayan-style dinner. My husband chatted with Luna many times in the weeks leading up to our event - she provided guidance and recommendations on specific dishes, sizing, and accommodated us when we decided to have the Kamayan at the restaurant (instead of taking it to-go and setting it up at our Airbnb). The food was SO delicious - we ordered pancit, bistek, pork sisig, lumpia, sisig fries, cucumber salad, calamansi wings, and garlic rice. The pork sisig was my favorite- crispy, textured, and extremely flavorful. The calamansi refresher was also FANTASTIC. Anyone interested in TASTY Filipino food should definitely check out Luna's!!! My boo and I were craving Filipino food and this was the closest restaurant to us. My first choice was the Lechon Kawali only to find out that they ran out for the evening . So I went with the pork belly sisig instead. My other half had the garlic smashed potato loco moco. We also had lumpia for our appetizer. My pork belly entree wasn't bad. The pork belly was extra crispy, which I liked. I ordered it spicy, but there no heat factor to it whatsoever. The loco moco came with just one smashed burger patty. Overall, I felt that it was a bit pricey for what we got. Not sure if I would go back. read more
First time trying this restaurant and I liked the food. I asked the cashier what their popular entrees are so I ordered them: Sesame Huli Huli Chicken plate and Panko Crusted Spam Musubi. Also ordered the churron (turon with cinnamon sugar) and Thai Tea Taho. I loved the Huli Huli chicken which came with macaroni and pickled veggies. The panko spam musubi was awesome too. I didn't like the Thai Tea with taho and the churron was alright. I thought that the price was reasonable too. I will definitely have to go back to try their Filipino dishes. read more

Easy 10/10. Everything we tried was fresh, delicious, and you can tell a lot of care goes into each dish. The staff was also super friendly, and everything was made fresh to order. The sisig combo plate was one of my favorites. The sisig was packed with flavor with the perfect mix of spices. Same goes for the sisig tacos. The cheese on tortilla was a great touch! I especially loved the calamansi flavor that added a nice citrusy kick and balanced out the dish. The loco moco was amazing. The gravy was rich and savory, and every part of the dish worked together perfectly. I've had loco moco at other places where either the patty is great and the gravy is just okay, or the gravy carries the dish. This one was different. Everything came together exactly how a good loco moco should. The salmon bowl honestly surprised me. I was not expecting the salmon to be that good. It was fatty, juicy, and cooked perfectly. The seasoning was great, but the texture and cook on the salmon is what really stood out. The lumpia nachos were BOMB. We actually ended up ordering a second round because of how good they were. The lumpia filling itself was delicious, the sauces paired perfectly, and I loved their choice of chips. It also wasn't too heavy, which made it way too easy to keep eating. The drinks were great too. The ube Vietnamese coffee had the perfect balance of both flavors. You still get the coffee flavor with the sweetness of the ube, and neither one overpowers the other. The calamansi refresher was also light, citrusy, and refreshing. Overall, the food, drinks, and service were all amazing. Every dish felt thoughtfully put together, and everything we ordered hit. I love supporting small, local businesses any chance I can get. Luna's Lunpias has been on my list of places to try for a while and boy am I had I did! A small shop front tucked away in a quiet corner of Poway, the place packs a PUNCH of flavor and food items anyone could want! Luna was so nice to talk to, giving us the best advice when it came to narrowing down what we wanted to order. Her ideas and ingenuity for each dish she crafted was amazing to listen to! My husband and she bonded over their love of bistek which we were so sad was not on the menu today. We ordered the beef lunpia nachos, lechon kawali, chicken pancit, Ube Vietnamese coffee, and Calamansi refresher. Everything was amazing! Fusion at its finest while staying close to their roots! Everything was piping hot, flavorful, and so filling we definitely have enough for another meal or two! For what you get pricing is fair, we were blown away at the quantity and quality we ate! The lechon was so crunchy while still tender on the inside, rhe pancit well balanced between veggies, chicken and noodles, and the nachos perfectly crunchy. If you're in the area, make the trek. We grew up in San Diego, so having co-workers ask where the good Lumpia spots are was always a tricky question. When we heard Luna opened up her own place, I had to give it a try. I brought in my co-workers last weekend and ordered the Beef LUNpia's, the Cali-Pino Fries, the Tapsilog bowl, some musubis and for dessert the Ube Tres Leches and Bibingka. What a treat, the Cali-Pino fries I rate up there with SD Carne Asada Fries, if more people knew about them they would definitely be a San Diego favorite. The Ube Tres leches was fire. I ordered takeout but it did not disappoint. The food was delicious and full of flavor. They even individually shrink wrapped each soup to avoid spillage. I'm gonna have to order extra macaroni salad next time bec it was so good. The restaurant was easy to find and would be nice to sit down and relax. The staff were also very helpful and polite. The presentation of food is great! The food itself , nothing special. - tres silog: all the meat tasted the same - long silog: ok - sisig bowl: ok - ube tres leches : my least favorite, the texture, the taste , its just a miss. The service is ok. They forgot to put in my dad's food but they were very quick to fix it. Just maybe the staff need to repeat the order back to the customer next time so they wont miss anything , just a suggestion. The place is small but neat, maybe some OPM music can make it more a filipino vibe. Overall, this is a must try if youre looking for a filipino food in Poway. read more

Yummmmmmmmy! This hidden gem tucked away in Poway is worth the trek no matter where you are coming from. Be sure to get here early as their food options dwindle due to popularity. (Thank me later) The food is delicious. Dessert is delicious. The Loco Moco with mashed potatoes in place of rice is mind-blowing. It's served with a side cucumber salad and Mac salad... Hands down a must try over and over again. Their pork tocino fries are mouth watering and make you want more. I know I did. When you're all done you will need a Puku Pandan to flush it all down. A great spot to dine in or for Togo. Unfortunately this time around I didn't make it in time to try their sisig... More reason to come back again. read more
My colleague recommended this place. I know there are a lot of Filipino spots in San Diego but it certainly must mean something to win best Filipino food in SD. Here was my experience. AMBIANCE: Parking: Plaza parking. Plenty of parking spots so I didn't have much of an issue on a weekend. Seating: Inside seating but pretty limited, there is room for maybe 5 people with room for maybe 5 groups. Vibes: Welcome to Poway! It may not have all the flashy things as promoted in San Diego (Balboa Park or the beach) but its on the way to it. It's more of a suburban area that's pretty clean. The spot itself is a pretty pleasant place to be in - restaurant feelings with some Filipino-cultural home touches to it - mural, Filipino art, and holiday decor if it's that time of the season. There's a tv usually playing island music. Great for family or friends to hang out or a nice food adventure. FOOD: Lunpia Nachos (Recommend) Oooi! Wanted the signature lumpia but something with a little extra/different and here it is - deconstructed lumpia. I felt like the chips were in-house with as it had a nice crisp to it. The staples of lumpia was very noticable - grounded meat and pickled vegetables. Add some sweet and sour sauce, cheese, sour cream, and green onions and viola! You are in for a treat! Huli Chicken - Pancit/Garlic Rice mix (Recommend) Wonderful! Familiar and new flavors. The pickled vegetables while including grapes was good and the mac salad was standard. The mix of pancit and garlic rice allowed me to satisfy my tastebuds. Finally I was nostalgic of that smokey, juicy, and sweet/tangy huli huli chicken, what made this standout was them keeping the pineapple. I'm certainly coming back for this! Vietnamese Ube Coffee (Recommend) Wonderful! Vietnamese doesn't fail if you're looking for a wake me up. The ube flavor provided a pleasant sweet taste to it. Plus their signature home made whip cream coconut made it extra delightful. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Chef Luna and Rex are dope! Props to their good energy even during a rush! TL; DR OVERALL: 5 Stars. Creative menu, deeeelicious food, reasonable prices, and a pleasant experience. There's a reason why this place was recognized as top Filipino restaurant of San Diego (that says a lot too with all the Filipino shops). This isn't a win for Poway but for San Diego. Poway may not be known for much but this puts it on the map. Pork lunpia was really delicious, dangerously delicious like I could eat 20 of these. Also the Calamansi refresher was great too. The cali pino fries were alright, great portions and value but would probably try something else next time. The ube cheesecake was yummy! Service was top notch and parking was easy in the plaza. read more
