Earlier in the year, I visited a sweetgreen in Orange County and had such an abysmal experience that I considered not visiting a sweetgreen anymore, even in Los Angeles County where I currently reside and had much better visits. Sweetgreen's customer experience team took my feedback so seriously, even mentioning they got the facilities team involved, that they basically wanted me to give them another try, promising that my next visit to any location, whether in Orange or LA County, would be way better. Well, how about a visit to a San Diego County location instead? Wouldn't that be the ultimate test?! lol Anytime I go to a sweetgreen, I won't know if the ordering process will be like the Long Beach location or like the other three locations I've visited, including this one. If you're in Long Beach and are curious why that location is different, I invite you to check them out at Long Beach Marketplace to find out how different (or just read my review lol), but here, it's the traditional setup similar to Chipotle, Subway, Blaze Pizza, etc. I personally do not like this setup because if you choose to add multiple toppings to your entree, you won't know how much extra you have to pay until you get to the register unless you're that nagging customer who asks about each and every topping upon building your entree. In my case, I wanted to keep things simple. I had just enough points in my account for a free entree, up to $18, but sometime in the last few months, sweetgreen added a new reward option for a free wrap, but only up to $15. It was 500 fewer points than the free entree, and with 500 points, you could get a Crispy Rice Treat, which would normally be $3.65. Mathematically, the free wrap would be a better reward than the free entree, so I wanted to use my points for a free wrap instead, plus the Crispy Rice Treat. I came in and saw only one customer in front of a female employee. A couple minutes later, Brandon came out to assist me. I had my eyes on the Molly's Big Dill Caesar Wrap since it was a nickel less than $15, but also an entree I hadn't seen before. Brandon mentioned it was new, like about a week or two, so I chose it, though I did want to ask about the "AYOH!" that was mentioned in the description. I thought it was an acronym, but it's more like a different type of mayo. Since I didn't want to do any customizations, I ordered the wrap as is, especially if it made Brandon's job easier. He even allowed me a choice of a sauce besides the Caesar, which the Caesar wrap would come with. However, I don't know how Molly would feel about a non-Caesar sauce in her Caesar wrap, so I kept at it with Caesar. He did ask how much sauce I wanted: small, medium, or heavy? I just said between medium and heavy; he added a generous, but reasonable amount to my wrap. I scanned my QR code at the register, and he was pleasantly surprised he didn't have to request payment; he was under the impression that I still would have had to pay the tax, which I was willing to do, but I kind of knew I didn't have to based on my Orange County visit. I made sure to tell Brandon I wanted to redeem my points for the Crispy Rice Treat as well, so then he tried ringing me up for the Crispy Rice Treat, but for some reason was having trouble. After conferring with his female co-worker, he just decided to give it to me on the house since he wanted me to save my 500 points for a later visit?! Unheard of! Such a pleasant surprise that I immediately forgot about how frazzled my mind was when I first entered. As his female co-worker was wrapping up my wrap, she found my receipt, which was on the other register, and I wasn't sure how that happened? Not only that, the receipt has "Lilly" as the employee helping me, but her name wasn't even Lilly lol. Anyways, I also asked for a bag, and she got a small paper bag for me, no hassle no problem. I also made sure to grab a water cup and some water before heading out. I unfortunately didn't have time to eat inside, but I saw they only had two tables: one for two, and a long table that could seat about a half dozen. When I finally got around to eating my wrap, I was pleasantly surprised at how everything tasted! Molly really did make such a great wrap! And all the ingredients tasted so fresh that I was willing to overlook one small ingredient in the wrap that I don't think was edible? Even the Dill Pickle AYOH! was great! Where else can I get a helping of this specialty sauce?! I tried the Crispy Rice Treat later that day and loved it! It was like a healthier version of a Rice Krispies Treat. Maybe give those out instead of Rice Krispies Treats this Halloween season?! Did I mention how great Brandon was? Impractical idea, but I wonder if sweetgreen would send him up to Orange County to train the team there on customer service? lol So glad I gave sweetgreen another try albeit in a different county! Now I need to try another free Crispy Rice Treat before my points expire next month! :O read more

We have been several times and enjoyed the healthy large portions offered at Sweetgreen. The salads are fresh, customizable and the dressing options are full of flavor! The staff have always been friendly and helpful as well. I usually get a create your own salad which is huge so you won't go hungry. The pesto dressing is one of my favorites. I think anyone going here can find Something that they'd like. ----TL;DR---- Pros: customizable, fresh ingredients and nice staff. Huge portions. You feel healthy eating here Cons: not a lot of seating inside Bottom Line: it's a solid go-to salad place for a large portion and has a huge selection. read more

Today, my experience at Sweetgreen in 4s Ranch was VERY disappointing. I love coming here, and I always get the ranchy chicken and rice kids meal. I always swap the chicken for steak, and I don't mind getting charged for that. Today I went in and asked for that, and the man seemed to understand me perfectly and had no problem making it with steak. I made sure to tell him that I get the kids' meals because I physically cannot finish a whole bowl myself. He picked up a LARGE bowl and put LETTUCE in it. I despise lettuce, so I would never willingly choose this bowl. I was confused and genuinely thought he was making an online order, since his coworker was making an online order as well. He read the bowl ingredients off the glass, so I am guessing he is new. Once I could tell it was actually my order, it was too late for me to change it. He also did NOT double-check my order at any point; my friend was with me, and she said I looked obviously confused about what he was making. The price of the kids' meal I usually get is around $8, but this bowl was $20. While I expected an upcharge for the steak, he made NO mention that there would be any. I am a student working and doing school full time, so I felt uncomfortable spending that money on food I can't even finish. I am very disappointed that the man did not listen to me because I was very clear about what I wanted. He was so far off that I did not even realize he was making my food until he was done. I have worked in customer service for multiple years now, and I can confidently say it is easy to tell when a customer is confused. I would NEVER proceed with an order unless I know exactly what they want. For context, my friend and I were the only two in line, so it wasn't even busy. I just can't even understand what he thought I said or wanted. I was SO clear, and yet he just DID NOT LISTEN, even though he was agreeing with everything I said. It was disrespectful. I was so confident at first that he knew what I wanted that the bowl he actually made me was unrecognizable, causing me to not even know it was mine. I used to recommend this location of Sweetgreen because they used to get my simple order perfect, but I honestly won't be back or EVER recommend this business again. I would love to be refunded for this inconvenience and waste of my hard-earned money. read more

Love coming here for a healthy lunch option! The workers are friendly and service is fast. I usually order ahead with the app and it's always on time or early. I love being able to customize my bowl and honestly any combination tastes good! The store itself is small with only outdoor seating. I think a lot of people order for pick-up as well. read more

First time here! Tried roasted Sweet potaotes with green goddess ranch dressing. Loved it! I also got the Harvest Bowl based on the Uber recommendations. Chicken was boiled and smelly, not roasted. The bowl indeed had a bed of kale (too much kale) with some hardened wild rice. Roasted almonds and apples were nicely crunchy! Goat cheese did not go well with this combo. This was eating healthy with no flavor fest on my plate.... I felt like goat was sitting at the table too. Sorry, first time trying goat cheese, one can feel the goat and one can smell the goat I never felt the cow in cheese from cow milk before Will have to try the wrap sans goat cheese the next time! read more

Not only did we have our own poor experience with a specific staff member being extremely rude and dismissive, while finishing our food outside because we didn't want to deal with his attitude, he must've been so poorly behaved to another customer considering as she was walking out the door, she turned to tell him "it's really not okay and you shouldn't be laughing. It's really not". This was our first time in. We had already looked online prior to arriving to decide our items. We weren't greeted with any "welcome"s and the line set up was confusing. Once we figured it out, he asked if we were ready to order and we said yes. We told him what we wanted and when he followed with "is there any changes you'd like to make" we paused for not even five seconds to re-read the item list to make sure there wasn't. Within those 5 seconds, and as we went to respond, he cut us off and very rudely said "well so and so will help you instead. Next." It literally caught us off guard because it was so extremely dismissive. I think I audibly scoffed and said "oh okay?" out of utter disbelief. The other person seemed no happier to be working on this day. He "helped" us at check out by putting the payment screen up and immediately going back to vent to his coworker about whatever problem he likely caused himself. We then decided to sit outside, even though it was extremely hot, because we felt too uncomfortable to be inside. While sitting is when we watched the above interaction. The woman was visibly upset. He responded with something dismissive as she walked out. I didn't get a name as I wasn't offered a receipt, but the interactions took place for both of us between 1-1:30 on 3/28. The unhappy employee was a younger male with a backwards black baseball hat, light grey long sleeve, black framed glasses, and a goatee that supported his frown. You should definitely hire better people to represent your brand. It doesn't help that the food was heavily overpriced for the quality. Yuck! read more

I'm sad to update my review with a lower rating, as we love sweet green and the clean ingredients/what they stand for. Also love that they regularly come out with new flavors (the most recent KBBQ is amazing) and the new avocado oil fries are great as well, but the people working at this specific location need a course in BASIC customer service. It happens frequently at this location when certain ingredients are out and we are asked if we want to wait for it be ready. They say one thing, usually 5-10 minutes, and it's almost always way longer. Other fast-casual places have more efficient operations and can better time replenishing ingredients. This last time the steak wasn't ready and the girl said it'll be 5 minutes. Waited 15 minutes for another worker to put the completed plate on the counter and say it's ready. I had told the first girl that I was going to make substitutions. When I told this other worker that I wanted to make subs, she got annoyed and quickly made a new plate, set it down on the counter and walked away without putting a lid on it. Why is SHE the annoyed one when I had to wait longer than quoted for my food to be ready, and then didn't check in with me as she was making it so it was made wrong?! On top of that, the steak was super cold! The employees don't seem very happy to be working here and they definitely don't care about customers having a good experience. When this was brought up with the manager she refunded a part of our order which was appreciated. However this isn't the first time customer service has been lacking, recently it's been mediocre at best and this last time was unbelievably bad. So sad as I otherwise loved this place. :( read more

Very good experience my friend and I usually order the miso glazed salmon bowl but we decided to be a little risky and adventurous today and breach out ordering the new Cesar salad wrap. This wrap surprised my taste buds had a very good flavor going on making my mouth water. Until it went wrong..... the wind! It blew'! And the dressing flew on my brand new cushion chairs, this dressing overall is why this review doesn't have 5 stars it was very thin and watery and absorbed into the tortilla making it less flavorful than I wanted. If u plan on eating this delicious wrap outside or by the beach DONT things will fly. Anyways great wrap read more

Came here on a Saturday for lunch. It was our first time here so we weren't sure what to get. The make your own salad seemed a bit overwhelming to do for my first time so I decided on the steakhouse chopped salad that they advertised as new. There are so many options to choose from the salad bar. All looked fresh and really good. I chose for the salad to be mixed and also got the slice of bread to go with it. The salad was surprisingly really delicious! The steak was cooked perfectly and the quinoa went perfectly with the salad and dressing. I could've done without the bread. There wasn't anything to dip it with and it wasn't toasted so it felt a bit much for me. Overall I was very happy with the salad I got. It's a bit on the pricey side so not something to get all the time but I definitely would get it again. read more

Food is consistently delicious here. Healthy food and healthy portions. I've only tried a few things - Cesar salad, hot honey chicken bowl. The fam tried the garlic steak. I may not be naming them correctly but essentially you can't go wrong with any of the menu items. I especially like that they ask you how much dressing or sauce you want on your plate. The one thing I don't care for is the roasted chicken. I prefer the blackened chicken so I modify my orders to that. Service thus far has been great- quick, easy, friendly. It's a simple place to eat no frills but always clean. Highly recommend if you're looking for healthy eats! read more

Don't let the prefix menu scare you. While you CAN choose a preselected bowl or salad, you can make your own (although personally I've only ever done the pre selected ones and they're always delicious). I traditionally get some sort of bowl with sweet potato and tofu and while the prices are fairly steep, the sides of the bowls and salads make it worth it. They also don't skimp on dressing which is great. read more

Places like Sweetgreen are out of my comfort zone but I wanted to check it out anyway since it's conveniently close to my office in 4S Ranch. I ordered a salad they call "Guacamole Greens". It was made with everything I like and I didn't have to omit anything. Makes ordering easy. It was prepared and served in a hexagonal bowl that was pretty deep. It's really a lot of food and I was quite full after. There's not much seating inside the restaurant but the staff seemed friendly and efficient. read more

Surprisingly good salad bowls that justify the price. This sweetgreen is located in a community of privilege and definitely caters to this clientele. You'll find a lot of marketing buzzwords that pretty much check every "green" box there is. When it comes to craft-your-own places like sweetgreen, I generally pick one of the restaurant's curated options because it's a lot easier to order. I ordered the crispy rice bowl and was completely satisfied. - Better dining option than Mendocino Farms. - Their bowls are a great choice to bring to a high school football game. read more

An ok break from the burgers and fish tacos. I was able to get my tofu on here with their Shroomami salad. I ate almost all of the huge entree salad and it was good, ok or otherwise too healthy tasting for my liking. They didn't have cucumbers today right at the noon lunch hour. Someone didn't get the shipment correct this morning. The other salad ordered at our table was something with salmon in it. They said it was very underwhelming. I've eaten at more entertaining "green" salad take outs. So be it for eating healthy. Dicks read more

I've seen sweetgreen several times, but was excited when I was picking up something from Mendocino Farms in the 4S Ranch location, and saw there was also a sweetgreens. I may have eaten at their place a LONG while back. The interior was beautiful, minimalist and simple. I checked their website before placing my order as there are selective salads that could only be ordered online. I ordered the Miso Roasted Corn Bowl which I loved. It consists of roasted corn + peppers, blackened chicken, shredded cabbage, raw carrots, basil, warm wild rice, shredded kale, roasted almonds, and miso sesame ginger dressing. The pick up area was well designed. They had the shelves right nearby the kitchen, bags hung on the wall, and then utensils on the side, making it so simple to do a grab and go. My salad fed me for two meals. The first where I ate all the meat, the second where I just needed to add protein. It was one of the best salads I ever had in my life and that I really enjoyed. I'm a regular here. I'll come once for lunch and once for dinner a week. I will get the Crispy Rice Bowl which I get half romaine, half arugula on bottom and it comes with 1 scoop wild rice (with no crispy rice, cuz my fiance has bad teeth and they are hard) or the Chicken Avocado Ranch Bowl, w/half romaine half arugula, and I change the white rice to wild, substitute spicy broccoli or chick peas instead of pickled onions. They are pretty fast, you can get in and out in 10 minutes. It is pretty price, around $14-$17 per bowl. But I went on a diet January 2024 to August 2024 and lost 24 lbs, eating alot here. Removing the tortilla chips and no bread of course. The other bowls are good too: steakhouse chopped, shroomami, chicken pesto parm. I love the plates: miso glazed salmon and carmelized garlic steak, but hardly get these. There is an incentive program, if you eat here at least twice a week, it will make sense to join. But I'm hesitant, to pay for a discount to get a discount. read more

Every time I come here, the employees act irritated when I simply ask for a bag and they REFUSE TO BAG THE FOOD. They point to the other side of the restaurant and tell me to get my own bag. I'm here alone with two small children -- I can't carry multiple containers while also holding their hands. IT IS NOT UNREASONABLE TO ASK FOR A BAG, and if I'm tipping, the very least you can do is walk a few feet to get a bag and place my food inside. This has happened every single time I came here, so now I'm not coming back. read more

This review is for the soft opening. This is my third time dining at Sweetgreen. I always find them to have outstanding food, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and everything you can expect from a made to order eatery. Today, I ordered the very tasty Fish Taco Warm Bowl. It's like a healthier Chipotle. They get you your food fast. Their salads/bowls are good and definitely taste fresh. The portions are pretty big, I split the bowl into two because all together it would have been too much food, no complaints with that though! I've had lunch from this location three times in the past month, so obviously, something has me coming back for more! I think I'm drawn to Sweetgreen because of its fast service, fresh food, and convenient location. Their concept is similar to any poke shop, Subway, Chipotle, and Urban Plates. You walk up to the counter and order a base and toppings or select from suggested "mixes". The restaurant has some seating both indoors and outdoors. I found it to be clean, bright and airy. Not a noisy spot and is perfect for a workday lunch or meeting with friends. My favorite so far is the BBQ Chicken Salad which is on their Taste of Summertime list. The bowl is filled with fresh greens (romaine, kale and red cabbage), roasted chicken chunks, apples, tomatoes, red onion and tortilla chips. The green goddess dressing and honey BBQ sauce combined make the salad super tasty. You can have a slice of bread on the side as well. Delicious! Prices are what you expect to see these days. $15++ for lunch in this area is typical. Looking forward to tasting what they bring in for the Fall! read more

DISGUSTING. Terrible and improper food-handling and washing. There were these green worms all over our bowls. I'm especially concerned because l ate half of my bowl in the dark, and I'm pregnant so I was scared that this might be dangerous. I previously worked in a kitchen as a cook for a few years and this is really horrible to see. Reasons not to have pesticide-free farm food sadly I just had to do all this research and although this particular worm I ate is harmless, it means we all might be exposed to other parasites and worms that clearly were not protected against or washed out.
