Combo side salad
Jessica S.

Before opening the to-go containers back at our hotel room, I would have bet good money that I'd never had food from Victors before. However, as soon as I saw the salad dressing container, I realized I have had their food. On several ocassions, in fact, as this is the go-to spot for our events team when we're prepping for an internal event and need food to feed a crowd. I recognized the pinkish salad dressing right away, as I mentioned, and one bit of the buttery, almost too-rich rice sealed it for me. I got the Gyros & Spanakopita plate ($14.95), my husband ordered the Victors Chicken & Spanakopita plate ($14.95). Each combo plate came with a small side salad (and the pinkish dressing.) We also got an order of their Baba Ghanouj & Pita appetizer ($4.95). While I did enjoy the flavor of the gyros and spanakopita, the plate felt like it was more rice than meat. The spana was crispy and flaky, but I would have liked a little more feta in the pastry; it felt a bit thin. The rice was overly buttery, which I expected, but not so oily that night. Their baba was unedible. It was bitter and too watery, I think they put too much tahini in it, maybe? We ended up just splitting the pita to finish our entrees and dumping the baba. My husband said the chicken had good flavor, but wished there were a few more pieces - even if they had been tiny - on the plate. He also liked the spanakopita, but said it was on the thinner side. The salads were good, their pink dressing is delightful and they never give enough dressing, but it was refreshing and big enough.

This is the majority of the restaurant. Smaller but very clean & kind

at first glance the restaurant is absolutely adorable and very clean. The employees work in the front counter were very informative and polite. The tzatziki was pretty good while the rice was a little overcooked in my opinion but overall well worth the price paid.

Gyros Plate with salad for both sides

I've been going to the RB location since Victor opened the RB location (I worked across the street since '77!) and then the Poway location that his son's started. The best Gyros anywhere around, and the best conversations with the sons in Poway in the evening. Wed temporarily relocated out of state and had a hankering for a Gyro so off I go to RB. Unfortunately it's not what I remember. Ordering was fine, talkative, attentive, friendly and appreciative. Ordered a Gyro plate combo with salad as my 2 sides (double me up!). Their dressing was the best ever and I remember asking how they made it long ago (and they'd told me). They brought out the plate and had to first ask for tzatziki sauce, then for salad dressing. It wasn't busy so that was disappointing. Overall the Gyro was good. Plenty of meat with a few slices of tomato & red onion. Salad was ok, the lettuce was ... robust, I think it would survive a nuclear war. Dressing is not what I remembered and I didn't eat much of the salad. The tzatziki seemed very thin but it worked. The plate was $17 with water. Overall if I really had another hankering for a gyro and I hadn't found anything better by then I'd definitely go back, however; I'd skip the plate/salad and just get the sandwich.

Came back here and the chicken was also just as good as the gyro. Definitely very good with the roasted peppers as well, recommend always getting them since they are free to add!

One of the best Mediterranean foods i've had in San Diego! The chicken and gyro plate was soooo good and filling, and their tzatziki sauce is so so great too. Can't get enough!

This is a huge bummer. My family and I have been coming to Victors for 10+ years and this wasn't the best experience We ordered a combo plate, our usual, to go and when my husband got back home it was the smallest portions. I would best describe it like a child's meal. The side salad was lacking lettuce and the meat and rice was half the usual portion. The lamb was so incredibly dry too. I love this place but I'm not sure if it was tonight's staff or what's going on. Just a huge bummer.

Food was so so, the main guy was rude and arrogant. Expensive for how small the serving is, staff could be a little friendlier.

First Visit, Instant Fans!…read more We stopped in this afternoon with my wife and our four sons after a busy day out, looking for a quick meal--and The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill completely exceeded our expectations! The restaurant was spotlessly clean, and the service was impressively fast, which is no small feat with a hungry crew our size. But what really made our afternoon was Milab. She was incredibly nice and welcoming, and we couldn't help but notice that even when she wasn't processing customers, she was actively cleaning and keeping the place looking pristine. That kind of hustle and attention to detail really stands out. And the food? Absolutely delicious! Every single dish hit the mark. We came in as first-timers and left as definite regulars. Totally worth it, and we will absolutely be returning. If you're looking for great Mediterranean food with fast, friendly service in a clean environment, this is your spot! We ordered the Great Greek Gyro and it is a really good size. Our 3 and 5 yr old could share the next time. Our hungry 7 and 9 year old devoured them. Thanks, Ashley & Lindsey Head

In deciding where to go for my birthday celebration, I remembered George's and I wanted to come here because it's one of my favorite places to come for lunch. They have wonderful lunch specials that includea side of four pieces of pita bread a large Greek salad with fresh feta cheese and delicious dressing and olives and cucumbers and tomatoes, as well as their rice pilaf. Today I couldn't decide between the lamb euro and the moussaka so they had a special that included two main dishes sampler so that's what I ordered and I got two for one. I took enough home for a late dinner and I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch. Two of the ladies enjoyed the chicken kebab lunch with all the sides and my other friend chose her salmon salad because she's a fish eater. There's something for everyone here. They were kind enough to bring a birthday baklava for us all to share, and they sing happy birthday to me, and I blew out the candle. Georgia and her family were all there to celebrate with me and the service was excellent as usual. Even though it's on a busy street there's lots of green plants that shield you from even being aware that you are on the busy street. Please come here for a delicious Greek meal at very reasonable prices and good quantity. And you get to have a cooked meal from a family kitchen!

The rice pilaf tasted as…read moreif it was out of a box, the salad was just romaine with a few cucumbers and tomatoes that weren't fresh. The hummus was just okay. The salad was in the box with the other items and the lettuce and dressing were hot by the time I picked it up. Reminding myself with this review to not go back. I'm actually surprised they have such good reviews. I really wanted to like it because it seemed like it was family run, which is why I picked it. The woman over the phone was sweet and was going to give me an extra hummus instead of tiziki and another one for free (which I didn't ask for), but when I arrived there was some confusion and they were going to charge me for two kabob plates (even though they were clearly handing me one meal), then forgot they were going to give the hummus instead of tziki and so I paid extra for a hummus I didn't ask for. The price went from $32 to $24 to $19 for my $15 plate. (Hopefully that was a simple mistake and not a money grab).
